Most of the staff is friendly and informed. Willing to help. Selection is good and differs from other big box stores. Most importantly- they SOURCE CANADIAN! Home Depot stock is mostly made in China, Lowes the U.S. and Rona- CANADA! Hope that doesn't change with Lowes buying them!

Two orders made online in the last month and both were agonizingly slow. Called in the evening to find out status and after several prompts the automated assistant told me they were closed. It's Friday night, and I don't think they will deliver on the weekend, so looks like this will be taking 12 days or longer now. Next time I will order from Amazon.

I was here trying to complete a bath Reno and the guys are the contracting desk were great. Easy to talk to and willing to help you solve your issue. One guy even offered to carry a box of screws out to the (drive thru) check out. This is a big store and I am finding that all of them could benefit by installing screens to help you search for your product. If I am doing a project and need to get some supplies, I do not want to be wondering around a huge warehouse trying to find stuff. Great store. Lots and lots of stuff. Tons of parking. Do like the drive through pick up. Have been here before will return.

I called to confirm if they actually had an item that was available for purchase online. Horrible, horrible customer service, called 3 times only to be passed around like a hot potato for an hour without even inquiring as to why I was calling and then hanging up on me while I was still on hold. After all that I was told by a lazy employee on the phone that the system shows 2 items in the inventory (which I already knew) “but since the item was discontinued they could have it, but “Probably” don’t have it.” I asked if she could check and confirm for me because I’d have to drive an hour to pick up the item and I didn’t want to pay for the item online only to be told they don’t have it. She was obviously not willing to confirm if they had the item I needed, so she put me on hold for another 15-20 minutes and then hung up on me. I have dealt with many Rona stores and put in 8 online orders in the last 4 days with absolutely no issues but this is by far the worst one I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with!

I understand that it is a stressful time. I ordered an electric BBQ on Thursday morning, hoping that my order would be ready Saturday (my only day off from work). I hadn't received an email by 3pm that day, so I called, and the lady I spoke to said it would be ready tomorrow. Fine, I can wait one more day. I worked until 4pm, and tried to call the store on my lunch, and after work. No one was answering the phone. I decided to go down there, which was a 40 min drive, but that's okay. I got there, and explained that I had ordered one thing 4 days ago and this was the only day I could pick it up. The curbside pickup lady said that she would try to see if they could get it for me. While I was there, for about 10 mins, there were only 4 other cars in the parking lot. So not too busy. The lady returned and said it wasn't ready yet. I know there is a system, and I understand that it takes time, but if you are four days behind, maybe it's time to look at your staffing. So I told her to cancel the order, because I would not be able to return to pick it up. Sorry that you lost the sale, and I didn't get my BBQ, but perhaps you need to look into better methods of curbside pickup because this is not working. Oh and my refund was issued right away ????‍♀️

Great, huge store. Friendly staff. An associate had to help me find the brand and colour of stain I was looking for because it was up on the third level shelving with limited stock left. The associate was kind and handed me the stain I came for. Thanks Rona for selling me 3 tins of stain. I had a timeline and lots of work to do. Unfortunately, you sold me 1 tin which was the wrong colour. Given that I live over an hour away I was not driving all the way back out there mid-afternoon. Sure, it was partially my fault for not checking however I didn't think this was necessary. I was NOT wasting gas and several hours of my afternoon driving all the way back out there. I was not a happy camper. The cashier didn't question it either. Now I try to have to get this done in between rain storms this week in order to have my project completed for the long weekend when when all our guests arrive.

Made a purchase online. 2 days later no update as to where in the process my order is. Called the store and nobody answers the phone. Message left.... no return call. Stop off at the store on the way home and am informed the item is still up high on the shelf. After I arrive home 45 mins after i receive a call the item is ready. Unacceptable customer service.

Bought a washer and dryer here on the weekend - not only were there deals on top of deals, the customer service was amazing. Graham and Chelsea were on it! Helpful staff in finding what I needed, but when I get to the cash and there's a long queue you really need to be clear on what you want the customers to do. A lineup of 10 people, cashier quietly opened another cash. New people fill that queue and the rest of the customers get ticked off. Cashier could care less or feel any role in communicating to customers. Everybody is trying to distance, dont create more chaos than needed.

Convenient for me but hate going there. No one seems to know where anything is and none of the kids who work there seem to have any training. I guess the manager just hires his friends kids who know zero about building products. Always frustrating to locate things and student workers don't appear to have any interest in trying to learn anything. On numerous occasions the staff said they didn't know where something was or that they didn't carry it yet I found it myself in the next aisle, without their help. Much prefer the expertise of Home Depot or Lowe's but the drive to those stores is further away for me.

In dealing with the lumber yard I was extremely un impressed. The staff seemed annoyed that we were shopping with them, didn’t help load anything (even though there were 2 staff just watching us load) and overall treated us really rudely. We won’t be returning.

I try to shop here since I live in Waterdown but it can be very hard at times. -2 weeks ago I went to price match a Makita drill combo kit to Home Depot and the girl who was working in the tool section had no idea what she was looking for and did not even realize there was a difference between brushed and brushless devices(basics). After trying to look around the store and online I eventually left with a sorry and took my money to Home depot. -Plywood 2x4 precuts always seem to be quite warped/low quality/not even in stock. -Lumber is limited in comparison to Home Depot in Burlington. Yard can be quite dangerous with customers driving through/people with carts. -Front Cash always has a lineup, always and checkout can be slow at times. If this Rona could sand off their edges you would have more people shopping there. Unless you know exactly what you need and have double checked online to make sure it is there it is hard to just walk in and find what you need for a fair price at this store.

I would never recommend this store to anyone interested in purchasing a product. We ordered a shed online through curb-side pickup, waited three days to schedule a pick up time, drove an hour and a half to pick up the sheds to find out that you apparently didn't have them in stock even though we had all emails stating otherwise. Thank you Rona/Waterdown for waisting our time, money for gas and ultimately being completely unhelpful. Save yourself the trouble and order from a more professional store with a real customer service program.

I shopped online, discovered that this location had an abundance of available product, so I got up early to pickup the supplies needed for the work I was to complete that day. Product Availability - 1 Star. The second star goes to the ProDesk associate, who directed me to the correct location to find the product. When it came time to checkout, I showed up at the lit up cashier's position. Waited, waited some more, watch THREE associates saunter past - still no cashier. To the third employee, I asked, "Is there a cashier working?" He looked left/right and shrugged his shoulders then said, "go down there to other cashier!" So back to the ProDesk I went and was assisted by the same helpful employee. 5min stop turned into 20m...Time for some self-checkout stations, if you can't afford to hire sufficient staff.

Rudest customer service! Not helpful at all, and certainly not friendly. I placed an order on Monday for curbside pick up for 3 small common items, all showing as in stock. Received an email Wednesday saying “at your request “ 2 of the items were cancelled....I didn’t cancel anything! When I called the store to inquire, right away the person answering snapped “what’s the order number!”, before even letting me explain why I was calling. When I told her I did not cancel anything, she said “well, they’re not in stock” so they cancelled them. I told her the website showed the items as in stock , she snapped “well they’re not!”. (Spray paint and ceiling hooks????). If they were not in stock, why doesn’t the website indicate that, and why didn’t the email say “not in stock”, instead of “at your request the order was cancelled “?? She was so rude, I cancelled the remaining item, and will not be ordering from them again!

This Rona has no service and no material. I wonder when it's going to change to Lowe's. Everytime I go I have to run around and look for people to help me. I always have to run to Burlington to either Home Depot or Lowe's.

Horrible customer service. Placed a web order for curbside pickup, could not find where to enter the discount code offered to the local campsite, only contractor codes. I called the store and was told "Sorry, I just started here I don't know" with no offer to ask anyone. Called next day and they said they did have that code but offered me two other codes - neither worked. I emailed the store also hoping someone could figure out the discount, after almost a week still no answer. Signed up for emails and got code for $10 discount, that didn't work either. Ordered at regular price. Complicated curbside pick-up compared to Cdn Tire (which was 100%). CT texted PIN code to give when I showed up at any time. Rona made me book a very specific time to pick up. When I went to pick up at the specified time I waited over 40 minutes for my order. Called the store as no one was coming out with order. Many contractors waiting as well and complained before someone finally came out with my order. Some of the contractors probably lost over 1 hour of work waiting for their order.

Horrible Service Experience..... I got to store few minutes before 9pm. Store attendant lied to me at the door that they were closed and spent the next few minutes lecturing me about how I ought to know the “close down procedure” of the store - this was in response to me saying it wasn’t 9pm yet and nothing on the door said they locked their doors before 9pm. Her actual words were that “I ought to know that stores close before the closing time posted on their doors ”. When I asked to speak to Manager, another colleague of hers allowed me in to pick the sprinkler I was dashing to get in the first place but by then the cashier was actually closed and I couldn’t buy the item.

Lots of selection...almost too much. Bought 16 ft lengths of baseboard which is located pretty far from checkout. So much stuff in the main aisles that manouvering was frustrating. Rona needs to study the customer experience and either clean out the aisles or relocate long/large items.

Not bad but untrained staff for the departments they serve. Not saying this for all, some are great, but I do understand that sometimes they need to cover departments with staff that might not be in as much aware of what they are talking about. Overall I can pick and choose what I need and get through cash no problems. Don't pay with airmiles if you have to be somewhere quick.

Curbside pickup works! Took about ten minutes from arrival to being loaded up. I picked up 4 panels of particle board and some screws. That's about twenty minutes less than I would have spent had I gone in the store. I often wait 5 minutes just waiting for help loading.

I was just in Rona looking for a washing machine. The regular gentleman who works in that section had gone home for the day. I asked another staff member if he knew anything about the appliance section. He said he did not but would attempt to page the part timer. She had gone home. Rather than leaving it at that Mike offered to come and see if he could find some information for us. Mike was super helpful and best of all kind when helping us compare the two washing machines I had my eye on. I have yet to be disappointed with the staff at this Rona. Keep up the great work hiring wonderfully kind and knowledgeable staff!

Bad experience multiple times. Avoid this RONA if you can. Lack of customer orientation, wrong or expired price tags, they sell returned items without checking if any missing parts. Wanted to support Canadian based store unfortunately have to shop at US competitor.

I ordered some play sand online which when purchased it says was in stock at the store. After ordering, and Rona actually taking the money from my account, I received an email saying the product wasn't available and I would have to wait. First of all, don't take the money if you dont actually have the product you are selling. I then waited several days and received an email saying my order was ready for pick-up. I drove 25 minutes to get there. I called in when I arrived for curbside pick-up and waited 10 to 15 minutes for someone to come out and tell me they don't actually have my order and the email was sent in error. Really. This is a horrible way to run a business.

This has been my go-to lumber year for several years. I do appreciate the Saturday specials as well as the wide selection of products. I do like to shop early in the morning which can be a problem especially if you are looking for some expertise in a department.

I have never been to a more poorly organized and managed store. Employees will absolutely under no circumstance help you, I have actually see them turn the other way when a customer walks toward them its a joke. I could go on and on about my horrible experiences at this location but it's not worth it. I honestly don't know how they stayed open with the Lowe's take over.

RONA is my favorite "mega store" compared to the others. I shop there often and have a contractors account for my electrical business. Unfortunately the majority of the staff at this location is simply terrible. I pride my self about being a very friendly approachable man and I expect for people to treat people with a common courtesy of being polite. I have shopped at this location only a few times but every time their staff is rude and talks to you like you are stupid. I laugh it off on the regular but as a business owner I tried to contact their GM Peter, who is really no better. Your job is to deal with people, learn to like them. I do understand everyone has the right to have a bad day but this store really does need a complete change when it comes to their staff. There are many staff members that have been very professional, friendly and helpful, but the few that should never be working in customer service simply need to either improve or find another line of work. For now I will be taking my business elsewhere or the other RONA locations that I simply love.

My wife and I went in here prepared to buy a stove, washer, and dryer. Not one person even came close to us. We even looked for someone and no one around. We did make a purchase and the cash out girl was miserable. What an awful place! Happy to take our business to Peter Martin.

Sadly not doing well with the curb side,, Got a call saying to pick up my order,,, drove 25 min to go pick it up,, was told it wasn't ready yet,,, sat for 20 min while they tried to "figure it out" I called back to say i was leaving and would come back,,, 15 min later i got a call saying it was ready,, i asked if i could have one of my staff pick it up in the morning,, and they wouldn't let me change the pick up name and it had to be me..... really disappointed and i wasted over an hour,,, this was the coles notes of the story but really disappointed in how little they seemed to care about their screw up

We had a wonderful experience last week at Rona thanks to a young gentleman by the name of Dawsun. We were walking around the store looking for a department in particiular, and he had come up to us with such great customer service skills and asked if we needed any help. We asked some questions pertaining to kitchen cabinets, and he answered us very professionally and kindly. Some minutes later while we were at the kitchen cabinets area, he came to us again and asked if everything was going smoothly and asked if he could carry any of our items to our car. We've been to Rona many times, but we have yet to experience such great customer service like the one Dawsun provided us. I hope to see you there next time young man. Keep up the excellent work!

Rona Waterdown recently opened an Appliance section. Dina Moreira is their Appliance Sales Specialist and is amazing. She knows her products, gives great advice and most importantly provides EXCELLENT customer service! I recently had a delivery issue and she went above and beyond trying to satisfy my needs, including taking the initiative to take apart a dryer door and figure out how to switch it from a left to right hand opening hinge. Then she called me in and actually made the switch for me herself. She has been generous with me in so many ways during many different interactions. I would not hesitate to recommend Dina and Rona Waterdown for your appliance needs. Well done, and thank you!

After several phone calls we finally get told they never had the lumber to begin with and they marked our order as "delivered". I custum ordered steel roof 4 weeks ago and was not told that I could not get the drip stop till yesterday now I have to wait even longer to get my roof. Customer service is terrible, service staff said they were call me back and only one did out of four.

Some of the worst customer service I’ve experienced. Ordered something for in store pick up.. 3 days later I called to see if it was normal to take so long, they told me they didn’t have it in stock. No big deal but making me wait 3 days was weird compared to other places that’s usually same or next day. I of course asked to cancel and that was complied with just fine but before I could say anything else they hung up on me. All with a rude tone of voice. I don’t like to complain about stuff like this because it’s petty but this time it got to me.

I don't hesitate to use Rona for all of my paint and stain needs because I know that these two incredible ladies will give me the honest advice and sound technical knowledge that i am looking for... and they make me laugh alot! To keep it short, I'm a regular customer with nothing but fantastic things to say about staff/store. However, yesterday I rented a carpet cleaner with the upholstery attachment. Couldn't use attachment as it was PLUGGED SOLID! Disassembled the hose/head unit, it was like unplugging your bathroom sink. DISCUSTING. Cleaned it out and worked great. Returned today and mentioned my unfortunate experience including photo. Very politely asked if there was anything they could do to lower my cost, the young lady at counter was super helpful and very polite. She found the manager and was told to tell me the machines were just recently cleaned and there is nothing she can do. She wouldn't even leave her office to discuss my concerns. Extremely disappointed with the manager's lack of customer service. UPDATE.........I just received a phone call with an apology and was reimbursed the full amount via giftcard (which I chose). It's unfortunate that I had to post such a negative review about a store the I frequent regularly, but I am very satisfied with the outcome and will continue to use this store.

This evening we were at RONA. We were looking for a bathtub. While doing some searching online, we found the same tub at Home Depot- albeit for a higher price. Knowing that we could go to Home Depot and they would match AND BEAT RONA’s price, we asked the manager; would you be able to save us a trip and match the price that Home Depot would give us? She said that they could. We then waited for 20 minutes for someone to come and help us, only to be told that the one person who was trained on the lift (the tub was high up in storage on the back wall) was busy with another customer and that they could get it down in the morning. We went to go speak with the manager again, and she was able to find someone to pull it down for us. Only once they got it off the wall, we waited in line for another 25 minutes only to be told that no, they actually can’t match the price that Home Depot would give us (all happening with the same manager). We don’t often shop at RONA, and this just reaffirmed our thoughts about why we shop there so little. We definitely won’t be shopping at RONA again.

Disappointed at the customer service from this location today. I was wrongly informed that an additional order I made earlier in the day might be ready (since it was only adding a single item to another larger order that was ready). So I headed to the store for my planned pick up as scheduled later in the day. When I called the number for curbside pick up to explain, instead of making an exception since I'd come from out of town and was already at the store, I was told that it didn't work that way. Instead of making right their error, they said I shouldn't have been given incorrect information. I went home and will have to return to the store another day. I wish I could cancel my order at this point.

I ordered a product online, but was unable to pick it up right away. I called to cancel the order, but was told that it was already picked up. I asked to talk to a supervisor, but when he called back, the language barrier was so severe I couldn't understand him. He later emailed me, but obviously didn't understand the situation and wanted information that had already been given as well as much more. Knowing that I would not get a refund, I referred the issue to PayPal, who found in my favor. I dealt with Rona since only they had the product in stock, but as a Project Manager and a Construction Supervisor, I can say that this and other experiences have shown me that Rona and Lowe's (who own Rona) are so far below Home Depot in customer service and product knowledge that it's pathetic.

If you go in the evening good like finding an employee and the ones that are there either have zero knowledge or don’t care enough to even try to help. Absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated earlier by your staff and a supervisor. Walked up to the cashier & barcode was missing from my item, no problem I pulled to the side so she can serve other customers until they do a price check. 10+ min, no one did a price check. I walked over to the aisle to get another one with a barcode, only to come to the cashier & it’s scanning double what the price on the shelf tag was. Then she sent me over the other cashier which was a supervisor. She then tells me to wait on the side while she serves other customers until they do another price check for me. This is unacceptable customer service. I called the store twice before leaving this review as I am not someone to leave a negative review for any business. No one picked up the first time, 2nd time they transfered me to a manager, no pick up. Called a 3rd time & no answer. Immediate improvement on customer service is needed as you are not doing us a favour by working there.

I went in your store for the first time on Monday my day off to check out your gazebos I was greeted by a very friendly employee named Tyler who went out of his way to really help me with a lot of my questions and went and got me the item number really took care of me he's the reason I came back and then I dealt with Olivia and I can't remember the guy's name at the customer service desk they were both very helpful Olivia took care of me she got me one of your credit cards. She told me I qualified for a gift card because my purchase was $1,000 she took care of my purchase they just really took a one care of me I definitely coming back to that store best experience ever will not be going back to Home Depot again

Absolutely the worst service ever. Ordered Friday night for curb side pickup. Received notice Sunday morning that order was ready for pickup. Arrived at the stored and called to have order brought out to vehicle. Associate came out 10 minutes later with a pick slip and told us it is available in drive through lumber yard. Wait another 10 minutes at yard gate only to be told we have to get it at the back of garden center ourselves. Hubby goes in to garden center and has to go through 3 associates to actually find the product. How in any way or form is this considered curbside pickup?

I had a problem with mold and white stuff on my cold room walls. Rona staff took the time to explain in detail what the stuff was (effervescence) and what I needed to do and grabbed the products I needed. It ended up being a lot more work than I first thought as I also had to treat and paint the concrete porch but everything turned out great. Thanks! EJ

93 % degrees and no one watering any plants and they haven’t been watered for days. Men pushing brooms and moving stock. I usually purchase several perennials here a year and saw so many plants so stressed in rock hard containers it was terrible. I spoke to a young cashier who couldn’t do anything about it. Please someone water the plants and take care of them!

Hello! We went to this store the other day to pick up a few specific items that were in the sales flyer. I asked one of the salespeople, Preet, where to find one of the items. She stopped what she was doing to take us to the right aisle. Then an older gentleman Alln who works there took over and made sure we got exactly what we needed, calling in the help of a young fellow who went directly to the backroom storage to get the sale item we wanted. Then, at the cash, we met Preet again! She was very friendly, accommodating and honest. I loved giving my business to her. She was very polite. From start to finish a fabulous, personalized experience! I cannot recommend this store highly enough, and see no need to go elsewhere for my RONA!

The staff in plumbing is not at all willing to help you find anything. I went there on Monday and the lady working there stood talking to one customer for 30 mins about random stuff, didn't even acknowedge my presence to say I can help you in a moment or somethting. I went there the next day again to plumbing. The man just pointed me to find the part myself while he just stood leaning against the desk. I left without finding a suitable part. Just plain rude and unfriendly. I won't be going back to this location again.

The young assistant on the contractor desk was very helpful. The kids in the yard have no clue where anything is, I asked for a stack of OSB board to be cut, it took that long I ended cutting it myself, no one came to cut it, someone had to go and get snips. The yard is littered with skids and pt wood on the floor. It makes it very difficult to drive a truck with a 16' box around the yard. It seams no one cares and I was there for three hours getting material for my project. I had help for three minutes. The service here and set up is absolutely pathetic I will never go to this location again. Bad show to your contractors Rona

So disappointed ???? We drove 45 minutes to go to this store that used to be great. No supplies there to finish my craft room. No Insulation, no plywood or rough pine or any lumber products that could accent the walls. We miss our Rona store. Thought this one would carry what we need. Cashier and floor reps were friendly and genuine. Had issues getting items from the back. Not the worst but had to come back another day for them as per Rona staff. My big issue is that they told us someone would get in touch with us in 24hrs for an install. 4 days later we got the call. Either communicate the accurate wait time or don't under promise timelines. Not sure if it's directly ronas fault, but not a great experience having to wait 4 days when they said 1.

Edit: After my review, Gloria in Appliances kept my husband in the loop about when we could expect our fridge to arrive. We finally received our fridge on Monday, thank you Gloria for all your help....My husband ordered a fridge in November. It’s March we still have not received the fridge. No one has called us to update. We’ve gone into the store and called their warehouse and no one has given us any answers. Terrible customer service, we’re very unhappy.

Do not trust their paint department. We asked which paint to use for painting some high traffic stairs and took their recommendation. When we got home and was ready to paint we read the can and it said do not use on floors. Rona would not accept the return even though it was they who recommended it in the first place.

Was leery to shop here again, after my experience last year but they were the only company to have my 2 step stair risers in store. Placed online order got confirmation. It states will be ready for pickup within 48 hours. 2 days later get email that order is ready for pick up showing quantity of 7 stair risers in my email and to schedule a time for pickup (an extra step that i have not experienced with other places) scheduled pick up for 9 to 930 am the next day as there was no slots available that same day. Got to Rona, was told to get in line at the lumber shop. Waited an hour to be told they dont have them? What was the point of waiting for my ready to pick up email if no one is actually confirming you have the item in stock?? A huge waste of my time on this gorgeous day. Should have had them shipped from home depot like i originally thought as i would not have stair risers. Unacceptable.

The worst customer service. Ordered 3 items online Tuesday . Was notified that my order was ready on Wednesday for curbside pickup. It took about 10 minutes after calling for the attendant to come out with one item. I then had to wait in the lumber yard line to collect the remaining order. After waiting in line for over an hour, I was able to collect the second item and was told to go to the garden centre for the third item. In the garden centre they explained that I should grab a cart, find my item and I could leave with it. After much confusion on whether the third item was actually in the garden centre, the seasonal manager found it. Almost 90 minutes of frustration and aggravation for curbside pickup of 3 items. I always try to support local but I won't shop here again.

Called to follow up on an order that I placed online. Hadn't received the pick up email but I was in a rush. the staff volunteered to check it out anyway for me. Somewhere else in your other big box stores I've been hung up on inquiring about past online orders... Not these folks. They checked it out and actually made an exception since I was actually quite a ways away from home closer to their store and coming back another day/time would have been difficult. They picked it and brought it out quickly. Terrific service!

I called 24 hours later because the order wasn't ready and the lady that helped me told me "sorry, the web page is wrong" it is 48 hours. I can cancel the order if you want. We have thousandths of orders she told me and yours is only one of them. Extremely arrogant person shouldn't be picking phone calls. Last time I order on-line in Rona.

The cashier is rude. The cashier told the other cashier who was taking my friend to take double payment (we bought the same item) while I was standing at her counter, blamed me multiple times in front of other customers that I didn't tell her we were separated based on her assumption we were together, and without any apology after I pointed out she didn't ask me if we were together. I am not sure why I should deserve to be treated by her attitude, why.she thought she could decide my item should be paid by my friend without asking, and why she said "sorry" to the customer after me since she had to take my payment..... My guessing are: she hates her job, or my unchangeable Asia face, or both. That can explain all of my "why". Would make double thought for the future purchasing which store I should go.

Well, Canadian Tire on Fairview has the good app and the best turn-around time and best curb-side pickup process. They give you a response in under 24 hours every time, some time the same day. Their pickup process is amazingly easy and so fast. At the Waterdown RONA, I have been waiting 2 days for my order to be filled and to be notified. RONA needs a few lessons in how to properly staff this superstore and could take a lesson or two from Canadian Tire in customer service.
