People say the owner is creepy but I dont think he is. If you dont want to be treated with suspicion then dont look sketchy. Its your choice to dress and act sketchy. I like that he takes a look to see what laundry belongs to who and pops out when somebody new comes in. He is keeping track so nobody steals your laundry if you leave. I only saw him for a collective 30 seconds while I was there.

I went in to pick a parcel for a friend who isn't in town from here because they have UPS drop-off spot. I gave the guy working my friends parcel slip and explained that I am picking it up for a friend and have a picture of my friends ID to pick it up (usually works everywhere else) and he then accused me of trying to steal this package. I understand that there are certain protocol to follow so packages aren't stolen but I don't need to be accused of being a thief right off the bat, he could have explained what I need to do in order to verify that I am in fact picking up for my friend. Went in the next day after getting my friend to call, brought in my friends passport and got the package and the man working refused to say anything to me. Disappointing and disgusting behaviour.

The first problem with this place is the owner. He is really hard to deal with. As soon as you step in the store, he comes out of his office and starts spying you. During the whole process he is just spying you like a policeman. If you don't do the laundry the way he likes (even small things) he starts talking as you are a criminal. I guess he has some sort of mental problem like obsession-complusion disorder. The machines are old and the dryer don't dry very well. I don't recommend this place at all.

Wow the attitude of the hair bag owner was insane! I can't believe this place is still operating after reading the same reviews about his narcissistic belligerent attitude. I watched him berate a man right in front of me for allegedly overfilling a washing machine. If you like washing your clothes around people with glaring mental illness and crack heads, this is your place. But believe me when I say your money is best spent ANYWHERE else!!!!!

Best laundromat experience in Calgary. Hot hot water. The owner takes time to make sure your "item" gets the best possible wash. To the people that find it intrusive: you might learn a thing or two if you stopped elevating yourself above others. At the end of the day, they are his machines and he needs to make sure they aren't abused. I for one feel better knowing that some tarry overalls weren't the last thing to go through before my stuff.

(Translated) The owner was very friendly and helpful. In a relaxed atmosphere he even had a personal conversation with us. You could easily change the money into coins on the spot. Detergent and everything that belongs to it, there was also locally. Thankfully our laundry was taken out of the machine during our absence and packed in the laundry basket. Another employee cleaned the laundrette again and again. So it was all top and to my satisfaction. In addition, the owner for the wait gave us a great tip for a breakfast-diner :) (Original) Der Besitzer war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. In einer lockeren Atmosphäre führte er sogar mit uns ein persönliches Gespräch. Man konnte vor Ort problemlos das Geld in Münzen wechseln. Waschmittel und alles was dazu gehört, gab es ebenso vor Ort. Freundlicherweise wurde unsere Wäsche während unserer Abwesenheit aus der Maschine genommen und in den Wäschekorb gepackt. Eine weitere Mitarbeiterin reinigte immer wieder den Waschsalon. Also es war alles top und zu meiner Zufriedenheit. Außerdem gab uns der Besitzer für die Wartezeit einen super Tip für einen Frühstücks-Diner :)

Dodgy place, worker was giving me the creeps. The only plus side is they had a change machine (washing is $3, which is expensive, not very big washers) clothes didn't smell very nice after the wash and dry cycle

My clothes in thier new quad washers came out soaked still and the only way around that is too pay an extra $2 on top of the $8 that it takes to run it, for an extra spin cycle. The huge dryer's work pretty good but it still cost me $5 to dry

Had a great experience here. Took my entire daycare centres laundry there to wash in preparation of re-opening. It was washed, folded and package extremely well. Plus turn around for 81 sets of bedding, plus extras was 3 days which is amazing!

Was desperately searching for a laundry since I’d been travelling for work for over a month. Came across Lux and headed here. So happy I found this place! Machines are in top working order and everything is super clean. The owner is helpful and friendly and taught me a lot about why my home machine is acting up (spoiler alert, I’ve been overloading it, loading it wrong and using the wrong kind of soap!). Learned about the difference between top loaders and front loaders and how they work and clean clothes and how that compares to my own machine. I really wish I’d been here before I dropped serious cash on a home machine that isn’t really right for me. LOL. Highly recommend Lux!

Terrible. Owner is totally rude & obnoxious. He was upset that I "broke" his dryer by putting too many quarters in the dryer and then proceeded to swear and talk about how he now had to repair the machine. Maybe if there was a sign that said there was a max amount instead of the "4x25c = 15 min" sign then people wouldn't put too many quarters in. He wouldn't give me money back either. Apparently this has happened before as well. Never coming back. The art on the walls is also embarrassingly bad & seems to only involve women in erotic poses. Avoid at all costs.

Gerrit, the owner, was very helpful. It takes a bit to warm up to him. That said, we had a great conversation. He deals with lots of strange people, so I'd be leery, too. In fact, that morning, he had to steer a wayward soul from his business. That said, don't hesitate to use his laundry service. Many commercial establishments do. He is amazing at folding clothing so it stacks neatly and astonishingly organized. He takes pride in his work. Even hotels, tourists, and film crews use his service. There are some areas in need of some cleaning TLC. That said, overall, it was a great experience. He knows fabrics and how to care for them. I was washing a huge three piece sleeping bag and he helped spring it to life and helped me untangle all the zippers. I live in my car, touring North America, so I've been to laundromats many times. This little, hole in the wall, is a keeper. Thank you Gerrit for a lovely conversation. BTW: There are folding stations and brackets on the wall to hold your hangers for all your shirts and pants. Bring your own hangers, though. To Chelsea down below, he probably doesn't want you back, anyway. Get your change somewhere else. Three dollars a wash is not unreasonable. To the guy (Lane) wanting UPS service...I wouldn't have given you the package either, and yes, you could have been a theif. It was critical and professional assessment to decline your request.

I brought a lot of laundry to Jared and his business recently and he helped tremendously. He has a wealth of experience on saving you money and making efficient use of your time. He is also a long time local to the Beltline area, thus creating a real community atmosphere in his laundromat. The prices are slightly above average for Calgary but you will save money in the long run if you ask for his advance on how to properly clean your clothes.

Super helpful owner; though I washed my sleeping bags "by myself" he helped me understand the diffference between washing down and synthetic sleeping bags. He supervised the whole washing process and I was very satisfied with the service.

Walked across the road to an atm to get cash. Came back and went to use the machines but the was was $3.00 per load. To expensive. Used the coin machine to get change for the laundromat in my apartment, after I got my change went to leave and the worker blocked the door. Demanded I give him the change back. He said the change machine is only for customers. I told him there was no sign on the machine he said the covid sign is covering it up. He wouldnt move untill I gave him the change. Being a young lady I felt intimidated and a bit threatened. I will never be back to this establishment EVER!!

Good prices, quiet and straight to the point. Clean and tidy. I have never tried the laundry drop of service but the owner deals with a number of commercial clients so he must do a good job. Don't worry if the owner gives you laundry tips...he knows his machines and is going to make sure you get a better wash while keeping his machines in order. Always a good place for conversation on a slower day.

Others have commented on the owner so I felt I needed to add my two cents. While he was a bit abrasive towards me at first for misusing the machines he is really just looking out for his livelihood. He's very knowledgeable. I listened to him, and he was then very helpful and friendly. Don't be an idiot, or ask for help if you need it!

This is a decent place to get laundry done. Go at a decent time and you can be in and out in no time. I've noticed a lot of comments about the owner. I know he is a pretty intrusive but just listen to what he's saying, these machines are his life and he wants to take care of them. He offered us some free bleach because we forgot ours. Also the machines are old but better than the garbage that is manufactured these days. I'd do my laundry in one of these rather than a 99% cheap plastic smart washer any day.

Me and my boyfriend have tried a few laundrymats in the area and definately prefer this one. The machines are large and new and the establishment is clean. Unlike other places around your not followed around being told how to load your laundry. The only time the manager does mention anything is when large blankets are involved and your trying to stuff it into a washer that doesn't fit. Would like to visit one of the art shows I was told about here from my tattoo artist as the work some of them have done and have for sale on the walls is really good...regardless of being of women posing, it showcases local artists in the area..some of which have done amazing work on my sleeve tattoos.

The experience using the laundry machine was good. The experience engaging the person working there was horrible. They do not know how to talk to customers and will treat you with disrespect. They also like to hide in their office if any problems comes up. Find somewhere else as the attitude of the guy stinks up the laundry mat.

I would highly recommend NOT going here! The location may be convenient but the older male who works there is extremely aggressive and rude! He touched our laundry and got upset because we were 5 mins late. He started yelling at us and throwing things. He got in our personal space and honestly I thought he was going to try and fight us. I was super close to calling the cops. I will never step foot in this place again!!
