This Kindergarten belongs to the category of Department store.
Awful horrid experience
It’s a Walmart. And they do a good job considering the obvious issues. You would think law enforcement would deal with the intoxicated vagrancy problem outside the entrance and ALL OVER the parking lot.
Spent 223.87 still wanted to charge me for plastic bag that won't happen again will take my custom elsewhere Dave m
Thank goodness for Walmart! I forgot my toothbrush and they don't charge an arm or a leg for it!
This store is good for a few things, however our milk goes bad quickly (before the best before date), the shelves are not always stocked and it never seems inviting. Most of the staff are fantastic. They are always welcoming. It would be nice if I’d stop getting asked if I’d heard about the Walmart card - I am tired of hearing it. So tired that I actually say no thank you to the walmart card before they get a chance just because I know it’s coming. It’s frustrating to see managers just standing around doing nothing. I’m positive there is work for them. If the lineups are crazy they should pitching in, not standing around watching customers get frustrated.
Lots of variety, Great prices, clothing, jewelry, console games, toys and great food selection, Best place to Price Match in St. Thomas. ????????
Great place, had everything I needed. Have great pharmacy
Although a busy store it is kept clean and organized, produce is fresh and topped up regularly. Merchandise isles are clean and organized and the staff is mature and attentive.
Definitely not a "super store". Normal Wal-Mart with a few grocery aisles crammed in. Disappointing selection of kids wear, baby products and toys. Worth the drive to Wal-Mart in Woodstock......a real superstore.
great variety, could have more
Walmart really needs to keep their children section stocked with all sizes diapers and wipes. Especially some non scented and sensitive stuff for kids with allergies.
It's an ok Walmart it's a bit smaller but does have most of what you need very friendly staff.
Great new look, great new products and best layout for a store this size... BUT still the worst service ever. No baskets, ... Carry a brand but only 1/2 it's products. Lots of improvements but lots of opportunities too.
Good selection of products, excellent prices. The new self-checkout machines are very convenient.
Thank-you so much for turning our old Walmart into a super center. The selection of meats and produce is amazing with the price and quality. It's expensive as it is living in the north, so this help tremendously. Please keep it clean people, they have done a wonderful job with the remodel.
Good stuff good prices. Some staff are awesome.
This place gives me the creeps... Just like every supermarket I go.
They are getting expensive & in fact the prices are higher than Safeway.
Love the mall atmosphere in addition to walmart in this location. However this Wal-Mart is quite limited with stock compared to other supercentre.
Thank you for supporting the corporation- wide policy of walmart to allow pets in the store. I was able to bring my dog with me on a recent shopping trip. I really appreciate this service!
Worst and dirtiest Wal-Mart I've ever been in
Service has gone downhill lately. Express lanes are not open, large lines at other registers. Not wanting to use self serve as that takes away from employees being needed. If I don't need to shop here, I won't
Smaller Walmart where parking is below the store, so shopping carts have to be brought down on an elevator. We wish it had a bigger grocery section. Otherwise very clean and organized.
One employee asked us if we needed anything or help finding anything in two different sections. That's some high quality service
Great nall in the centre of Town,, one of the reasons I moved here. A social gathering and shopping experience.
It's ok but doesn't have near the items larger wallmarts have
Was very busy with lots of people but barely any staff, just need more employees other then that good place to shop.
Smaller Walmart but gets the job done. The grocery selection and quality of produce needs improvement I go elsewhere for meat, fruit and vegetables but over all still an alright wallymart
Dirty /filthy Carts dirty and peels in them entrance outside disgusting.and we wonder why there is illness.come on manager of walmart .clean up
They never have nothing this WalMart always disappoints me truly
Knowledgable. Friendly.
I don't know why they call our Wal-Mart in Tillsonburg a super store ! It has higher prices than some of the flyers from our grocery stores, and we have the most expensive stores for grocery shopping in town. They try and sell more groceries than retail, the selection for clothing and shoes are pathetic, always have to go out of town any way for sizes and colours. They should never have let them in the town centre, no room, no parking half the time. They need a store out in a bigger mall or set out alone some were with a larger parking lot.
Asked me questions about my return (from south London walmart) then turned around and got mad saying she didn't care about my experience with south London walmart? Don't ask questions the just do the dam return (wouldn't return it to south London because they treated me SOOOOO poorly I won't even enter the doors again.) Don't ask, I won't tell.
Fine & Lovely place to buy all items in low price every day
If I could go lower I would! Very hard to access parking, no customer service and very messy place. I bought a cheap phone that came out of the box broken and I was sent away and told that they can't do anything and when asking for the manager I was told they can't get them at the moment and I must come back another day. Avoid this place at all costs!
Sadly to say, barely any cashier's working, line ups are almost from one door to the other! Strawberries and gum spread all over the floor at the cashier's, people walking over the strawberries smashing them everywhere making the floors very unsafe to walk on as it was very slippery! I walked around it as much I could. The store is so much bigger now' but unfortunately the shelves are mostly empty. It should be "Bigger store, Bigger variety of choices ! NOT. Very disappointing because I asked for help as I couldn't find what I went there for, and the employee told me to order it on line! I was speechless when the Walmart employee was encouraging me to shop on li e, rather than tell me it will be in store later! This is what makes me an online shopper! Install of getting help in the store I'm told to shop on like! Not very impressed!
Narrow aisles, limited products. They stopped carrying many of the gluten free items I buy regularly I have to go to London for them very disappointing.
They need more staff (?) To stock and make the store look like is in abundance of.....rather than lacking of..... Not understanding why they have no bags....I am used to Vancouver store.
Good layout and helpful staff. A little behind on the ball and had so show them the Walmart website price to have them match their own price instore.
Always a pleasure shopping here! Also the staff are very great when you need help, or have a question. The cashiers are quick and personable, and always willing to help in anyway they can.
Very fast checkout, everytime I go to Tillsonburg Walmart .
Horrible service. Unable to get pricing or support from associates on products. Spoke with manager he appeared nonchalant and quite frankly offered no solution or support
The renovation was nice made the place cleaner and brighter but by adding the grocery portion it means less of clothing and other deparyments
Not enough staff a lot of waiting to get served. Store is to small has very little selection
Did not have any veggie burgers that i was looking for and was informed by 2 associates that they dont carry it any more
I shop there most of the time, because is very convenient and competitive in this small town.
Great customer service, lots of tills were open, despite the confusion with the upgrades going on I had a great experience.
Very good store wish that we could get the willchair cart down on the under ground parking because lam not able to walk up too the store.or mybe one of your workers could bring one down to me that would really help and mybe could have a phone number to call and they could bring one down thank you very much l like shopping your store very much thank you. Bye
The Walmart is ok. It's smaller then most so the selection is limited. Fairly clean. I gave it a 3 because parking and getting to it is hard.
Awful store. If your looking to be disappointed and not find what your looking for it’s the place to go. Self check out is sucks. Stop asking if I want a card. And calling in is pointless because they send my call off to India somewhere where they have no idea what I’m even asking for. Super frustrating ????????????????????
Tidy. But could use an upgrade and a bit better stuff to customer ratio was extremely busy and no one seemed to be able to assist us with the items we were looking for
The Thompson Walmart is very clean, and social distancing is being maintained. The staff are polite and very helpful.
The reason im giving this store the 5 star ratings is due to the great customer service. It seems the staff are happy here and it shows because they offer you great advice and help you find things that might not be easy to find.
We go here often. Staff is friendly and helpful for the most part. I do love that they ad match for prices. They can be accessed by underground parking from the floor below I downgrade this location for several reasons: The store is too small especially with having a large grocery section. Aisles are too small for the carts. At busy times it is frustrating maneuvering. The carts are hard to separate. They stick together. What head office genius tested these carts for usability? I don't like being asked often about getting a Walmart credit card. This is not the fault of the checkout people but about Walmart policy. Put up a sign-If I want one I will tell you. The debit machine does not take tap and go-not in the regular line or the new self serve checkouts. Time is money-get me tap and go for when I am in a hurry. There is only 1 elevator to the underground parking below. The Town Centre mall obviously should upgrade this to 2 elevators. For the busyness of it and the fact the single elevator breaks down on occasion or needs servicing. It has happened that I left Walmart with a shopping cart full and then found the elevator broken. I would prefer if Walmart moved its location back to the Norfolk Mall or build new next to Sobeys on the north end. Much residential development is occurring to the north west. Make these improvements and it will help losing customers who make the trip to London to shop or online. Quotes from Sam Walton (founder of Walmart) "There is only one boss. The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else. High expectations are the key to everything."
I remember a time if a customer asked for help at getting a locked item and that associate couldn't do it THEY WOULD GET SOMEONE WHO COULD! Not say sorry go to customer service desk and wait in line...
Great
Probably the grungiest Walmart in Canada. They have improved it recently by making it a "supercenter", but common items are always out of stock including the reusable cloth shopping bags today (Thompson has a plastic bag ban as well) the parking lot is so full of potholes with some as big and deep as 2', vagrants hanging around outside all the time with no security in sight, none of the staff are friendly, rarely is there an actual cashier open so you're forced to use the self checkouts and the list of negative things goes on and on....
Great customer service, always accommodate customers. Easy returns, nice people, always like to shop there. To bad I had to move from the area, but still remember positive experience
Not bad selection but 3 isles of pet related products is not necessary. There are never anyone in those isles yet the 3 or 4 other isles are very narrow and are jammed full of people. Shopping on a Friday night can be an annoying experience due to the volume and attitude of the shoppers.
i love beating the juicy hard meat
Disgusting place. Garbage all over the outside lobby. Have to navigate through intoxicated people just to get in. This Wal Mart is a black stain for the company as a whole. Don't bother trying to speak with management about it either.
Not a huge store compared to most cities but within Tillsonburg provides adequate selection and staff were helpful.
I came from Winnipeg this morning
Racist against Indigenous people, rude employees who like to harass shopper's.
Did have a good experience of this place, until now. Was rudely questioned by the staff by the door, accused of stealing what I bought no less than 10 seconds ago. I didn't have the receipt as I threw it out in plain view of the staff member. She then proceeded to blatantly accuse me, and ask me questions such as, "Which aisle did you check out from?" When I turned to try and see if I could see the number, she rudely replied "You're talking to me and not the wall." I used to have no problem with this place, but if they blatantly accuse people of stealing like this, then I find it plain disrespectful and need of change.
Sales staff seem to be hiding? One check-open, trying to direct customers to self-checking. I personally am NOT a fan of self-checking!
Hard to find help that can understand what your asking. Store is disorganized
If I could give a zero I would. Last night my 4-year daughter was verbally accosted by the associate working in the women’s wear area. It was approximately 9:45pm and they kept announcing they were closing. I was simply looking at some pants (which I did purchase) my daughter standing beside me as she looked herself in the mirror. She reached out touch the mirror with her index finger next thing you know the associate just went crazy yelling at her. I told her not to correct or talk to my daughter that way and she then went off at me. I asked her for her manager and she just walked away and said complain all you want. Asked for the manager and out comes a lady by the name Amanda, I told her what had happened she said well I cannot help you I have to close the store as I want to get home and so does the staff. I was shocked, I told her NO I want this dealt with. She refused and said feel free to call the police. I was like this person is insane. I asked where their workplace harassment and violence policy was posted she had no idea. I said the MOL requires it to be posted and she told me to call them MOL then. I have never been so upset. My daughter was terrified and still visibly upset after being attacked. I asked for a manager to call me back in the am. Amanda kept asking me to spell my name as she had to get it right for them to call back. I was just shaking my head. 11:35 am no call from the Manager and I have reported them to the Head Office, Better Business Bureau and will make a complaint to police if required. The associate that did this needs to be removed immediately before she does it again It is by far the worst Walmart, they sell rotten produce, have no selection of clothes or other items. During sales they will hold items for friends and others and not put them items on the shelve and by 11am they state they are sold out of sale items. Amanda is not a manager, has no customer service skills and is always hostile. Crazy we need a real store with real employees. Promote one of the cashiers that actually do their jobs and are pleasant and helpful.
Great parking and staff were very quick to respond to my questions and helped with wrongly priced items. Over all i really enjoyed my shopping trip.
Tillsonburg Walmart is very disappointing! The location is horrible horrible horrible! Difficult to get in and out. Hard for seniors and people with disabilities to get supplies there. Plus it's dirty and junky. Selection of products are very poor, and produce is usually old, mouldy and rotten. Woodstock Walmart is a way better Walmart than Tillsonburg. It's worth the drive to Woodstock Walmart for much better products!!!!
staff are nice to help
It has just about everything you need. When I was here last summer the food section was poor.
Don't really like this new place it's hard to get to with kids and the staff there I'm not very helpful I've asked for where baby shoes are they couldn't even tell me lady said you can find them did not like the service
It's a crowded store so you feel a little stressed but otherwise ok.
This Walmart is more like a pet store, vary small, can never find what you're looking for!
Like most places in Thompson, rating them on Google seems like a bit of waste of time...mainly because regardless of the rating, where else are you going to go? So I'll try to give more of a "what to expect" review, because if you're in Thompson, your choices are very limited. 1) Service- there pretty much isn't any. The staff are for the most part, robotic in nature. They do only the bare minimum of what is expected of them. Don't expect anyone to know where anything is, or expect them to properly bag your purchases. 2) Location- be prepared. The carts require a looney and are situated under the canopy by the exit doors. There are usually a number of Thompson's finest hanging around them looking for any additional change you may have. Note, that they will also follow you to your vehicle when you exit, in the hopes that you'll just hand them the looney from the cart when you are done. 3) Quality- well, it's Walmart. Quality just doesn't exist. However, the grocery selection is usually okay, but check the best before dates. Selling food passed the "best before date" is common in Thompson stores. And no, they don't rotate. If you're still reading this, good luck on your shopping experience in this Walmart location. Set the bar low and be pleasantly surprised if you had a great experience...versus going in and being utterly disappointed as I am every time I set foot in there...because hey, where else can I go while in Thompson?
Very rude greeters at times should definitely work on that! And have a bit to much Animal ailes and always out of stock when something is on sale!
The remodel is looking very nice. They do need to hire more cashiers. They keep one poor cashier and try to force customers to use self checkouts. Very poorly managed. I will not use self checkouts. I walk out first. The amount of business they have they could have all cashes open all the time. They are paying a person to harass customers to use self checkouts. No no And no
This store drives me crazy, the only reason I frequent it is for the pharmacy. Shelves in grocery section are always empty. Just this week I could not purchase Coke (regular) eggs (only had ones from US) or BBQ sauce we like. The aisles are way to narrow and are always jammed up by other shoppers and store staff. I usually go to Woodstock.
