Our son attended Alerces Spanish school for 3 years including 2 years of preschool and 1 year of Kindergarten and we couldn’t be happier. He loved every minute of it. I loved that he could still nap when he started as he was only 3. He learned how to solve problems on his own and with a group, the importance of contributing to the community and developed a strong understanding of Spanish. They went on lots of field trips and always had fun while learning. The teachers are loving, compassionate and kind. I loved to see how they guided the kids to learn through experimentation. After Alerces our son entered a Public French immersion elementary school for Grade 1 and has quickly caught-up to all of the other kids speaking French.

As soon as we attended an open house I knew it was a great fit. We are now in our 2nd year and my child is loving it. The teachers/admin are so amazing to our whole family and the culture, experience and environment make us sad that it is only up until Grade 1. Love love love it! Thank you, muchas gracias!

Alerces has encouraged my boys to explore their world with confidence and cultivates their creativity and curiosity. The teachers are amazing and care for each child, with a strong focus on kindness and looking out for each other. Forest school has taught them to respect nature, using all of their senses and they both enjoy learning new ways to calm their mind with fun yoga time. We LOVE Alerces!

Our whole family has been delighted with our experience of Alerces. It is warm, welcoming and buzzing with energy and creativity. I so appreciate the forest school approach and the wonderful space and time that is dedicated to being outside in nature. As incredible as their forest/park space is, the indoor space space is also inspiring. I love the way the classes inhabit a different space each day of the week, and the expansive common area for all students to enjoy together. Alerces values community, culture, the environment and creativity. That comes across clearly every day whether it be through sharing yoga with the students, attending a pow wow, creating elaborate obstacle courses with recyclables for a Father's Day celebration, or making the time to honour each student and their backgrounds and families with "celebrity weeks." We feel so lucky to be a part of this incredible community.

My children have attended Alerces for a combined 4 years, and I couldnt imagine our lives without Alerces. Learning Spanish is a huge benefit, but it is truly the love, passion, and dedication of everyone who works at Alerces that defines this wonderful school. The children are taught to value learning, our planet, and each other in creative and fun ways. Alerces is hands down the best childcare experience I have ever had or heard of!

Our oldest son: a bright, high-energy boy struggled at his previous preschool (a Montessori). The staff patiently addressed his weaknesses and fostered his strengths with love, compassion, and understanding. Key word here being "LOVE". He flourished at Alerces. We now have our youngest son in Alerces for his 3rd year and we drive across the city 20 minutes each way to drop him off and pick him up even though we're 2 blocks from the local Kindergarten because of how much we love Alerces. Field trips almost every week or more, so many different rooms/variety for them to explore during the week - the philosophy of child-led learning, small teacher to student ratio.. it's awesome. And NO you don't need any prior Spanish experience ! But remember, the key word here at Alerces is LOVE - you could feel it from day 1 and now we're on year 4 ;)

This is by far the best learning and fun experience for pre-school aged children in Saskatoon. We now in our second round with our youngest now attending and the atmosphere is energetic! Our first child that went through the program still to this day raves about her time there (4 years later) and the things she learned are 4 life. The artistic abilities my daughter gained alone make it the best place in the city but the many other things she learned including Spanish are outstanding. Thank you to the great team at Alerces for the amazing job they do each and every day!!!

The most amazing preschool experience for my children. We moved my daughter from her previous daycare (costly learning centre) because she cried everyday going there. I was nervous to start at a new place, but she loves Alerces. (She is actually nervous to get sick because she doesn’t want to miss a day of school!) We use it as a daycare as both my husband and I work full time. My children both attend the before and after care and love their time with Mary. We love that there are small classes with a designated teacher. They love doing yoga with Bati each week, and are always excited for their weekly forest school with Maru. I cannot recommend Alerces enough. Such a caring, well organized, emotionally aware place.
