I was a student here in 2006, and bullying was a rampant issue at this school. Some of the things that went on were appalling like a student taking someones mitten and putting it his pant and then giving it back to the student who had no idea what he did. There were a group of students constantly bullying a female student and even making comments about her father when he came to the school because they thought they were poor and made it a point that this student buys things from value village. Girls pretending to be friendly with a particular student and then boasting about how one of them urinated in a cup at her house and told her its ginger ale to get her to drink it. A student throwing a used menstrual pad on another student in the washroom for who knows what reason. One student had to be transferred to another school because he was bullied so frequently. There were also many students who made racist and discriminating comments some of the students had no respect for differences. I personally was reduced to tears at this school. Like I just don't get it some of the students here were so materialistic and preoccupied with that, that they had no respect whatsoever for people that had less then them.
However there were some positive teachers like Mr. Boucher was one of the best teachers I have ever had he didn't make me feel alienated or different or not cared for he treated all his students equitably and didn't tolerate nonsense behavior. The gym teacher Ms. Prentice, Mr.Hutchinson, the secretary and librarian at the time and some of the EA's like Ms.Bury were also really positive people. The teachers provided excellent education for the students. I felt most of the problems at this school stemmed from the students behaviors and attitudes.
