Today was my first contact with the school as we are moving to the area and if the receptionist is any indication of what we can expect at this school, I'm thrilled! A great first impression thanks to the receptionist who answered my call...very pleasant and helpful!

It’s a good school,but the teachers don’t help you with your problems or even let you talk they just jump right to the conclusion of what they think happened and ever since 2015-2017 the school has gone down hill.Also there’s so many portables 9 exact and it’s annoying for the older students in portables.

Hope you don't live in the area of this school as they're completely inconsiderate to their surrounding neighbours. I work night shift and have lived in the area for 26 years. I never had an issues with the school which was here prior to Clara Hughes. Now however, I found they really don't care about anyone but themselves. Throughout the year the school has outdoor activity days. This is great for kids. It's wonder for them to get out and get exercise. However the kids are about 30 feet from the outdoor speakers MAX, and yet somehow I hear the volume from their music over a street away. It wakes me from my sleep, it's unnecessarily loud. I contacted the school on two occasions regarding it, the first time they told me there was nothing they could do, the second time I requested to speak with the principal and they hung up on me. I ended up contacting the city about having them fined for a noise violation. They staff is rude, and pretty much told me to get a different job or move if I didn't like it. Keep in mind I didn't ask them to turn the music off, just lower the volume on their P.A. system slightly.

The daycare never met me or my son never stepped foot on the property and someone who didn't like me made lies about me and the daycare called cas with out proof

Not one of the better schools out there, they pretend to be a good school but they aren't. If they ever have outdoor gym or an outdoor event and you live in the area expect to hear very loud music many streets away from the school. They play music in the school in the gym every gym class which is way to loud for students and can be heard outside of the gym. The current principal has no business being a principal. You barely ever see her, she has no interest in learning the kids names or anything about them, at least the Vice Principal seems to care about the kids and be there to help not just there for the paycheck like the principal seems to be. The office creates rules for the school but picks and chooses who the rules apply to. They say no dogs on property yet there are people who bring dogs on school property including into the school. If you ever have an emergency and need to sign your child out of school its best to phone while your on you way and hope they answer the phone before you get there because they don't like to open the door to people trying to get in. You could stand there for close to 5 minutes some days and the secretary will look over at you and go back to doing what she was doing without even letting you in. Parents don't feel welcome in that school at all. If you are looking for a school to enroll your child in I'd move to a different area and look at another school.

My kids go here and have really good progress and also i worked as lunch room supervisor. It was a good time for me and my kids. Probably the best public school in Oshawa.
