Edit: In response to the owner response, sounds like the review is coming in the email so thats good to know, thanks for specifying that! And thanks for taking the feedback seriously, very professional of you :) Lots of great reviews on here , which is good. That being said my experience was so-so. I did a one week First Responder course, and it was the most crammed course I've ever taken. There was barely enough time to get any practical scenarios in, we just "had" to keep pumping through PowerPoint almost all week. They also combine the first week of EMR with the FR course, so you just get tons of info, more than what you need as a FR Student, which sure its nice, but it takes up a lot of time. I wish we had more practicals and more scenarios. Teacher was good overall, it may just be the curriculum at fault here. I strongly recommend either adding an extra day or two to the FR portion, or completely separate the EMR and FR courses altogether. We also never had an opportunity at the end to rate the teacher or the course, which is pretty standard now a days. Overall , it could be way better if its just not so crammed and rushed..

The Provincial Government of BC have legislation that says there has to be a person who is trained to provide First Aid to workers, at an occupational place of work. Worksafe BC administer the First Aid requirements for places of work. Organisations such as Heartsafe, provide the hands on Occupational First Aid training to workers. Heartsafe also certify people to show they have received training, and demonstrated proficiency. All in all, it shows the high value that the Province places on the health and safety of workers in BC. The training venue is not pretty, but the training is good. Plenty of 'hands on' opportunity to practice. My trainer was laid back and very personable. He observed and supported the practical sessions well. For trainees with some mobility issues, appropriate accommodation was made. A nice ambiance was created by the trainees and trainer, together.

Very experienced, knowledgeable and friendly instructors. I highly recommend HeartSafe to anybody who is looking into taking any first aid or paramedic courses.

This place is amazing! I have done my original OFA3 and my recertification as well. Each time I was fortunate enough to have a different instructor because they are all absolutely fantastic. My favourite part is that this is the only first aid training agency I have found where they encourage me to actually open up supplies and practice using them on patients during rescue scenarios. No cutting corners!

In recertification of my Level 2 I have now done this and the level 3 course 5 times in the last 25 years. Rosemary was a superb instructor with vast knowledge in emergency medicine that she communicated in a balanced and downloadable manner. In truth if this was an Old School video game called First Aid then Rosemary would be the Big Boss you met on the final stage.

Very good instructors who make sure you know what you're doing. I just did my OFA 3 with them. Ill be back.

Registration was very good(good communications), Ample parking around back of location. Large classroom. Price for course can't be beat(CPR-C $15.00) and free pocket mask. Took a star for equipment problems (Cleanliness and functionability) and a star because instructor had to be corrected on some items by students.

I did my Basic First Aid at the HeartSafe three years ago. It was great experience. The instructor we had was very knowledgeable with lots of practical experience from volunteering with Red Cross worldwide. In two days, I really learned something from him and gained new skills. The class size was adequate, and the supplies were good. We practiced a lot with new unopened first-aid materials, which is important for learning proper techniques of how not to contaminate sterile pads in the process of opening them. Breathing masks were gifted to all course attendants. I highly recommend this establishment.

HeartSafe is the only provider I will take all of my First Aid courses and recerts through! The admin staff are wonderful and helpful. Ron is the best instructor ever and they're cheaper than other places offering the same course! Take your courses at HeartSafe! You will not be disappointed!!!

Fantastic company with fantastic instructors. I took my OFA 2, OFA 3, and Primary Care Paramedic through Heartsafe and would whole-heartedly recommend them for all levels of training.

I have been coming to HeartSafe for four years now. I did my OFA 1, 3, transport endorsement and EMR through them and have to say there teaching approach and hands on expertise really are exceptional.

I did an EMR bridge course and was really disappointed. The first week was for first responders which wasn't very applicable to EMR (so had to chuck just about everything I learned that week). So the second week was EMR -Friday was a test so it was pretty much 4 days to learn how to be an emergency medical responder. I passed my practical tests which consisted of two scenarios but I probably wouldn't have passed them if I had had different scenarios. The teacher I had for the second week was really good but it just wasn't enough time to learn everything or even close to everything... If I had two weeks with the second week teacher I think it maybe would have been enough. Anyways now I will have an emr certificate which I can't use until I'm licensed (unlike ofa 2/3) and I didn't learn enough in four days to come close to passing a licensing test so I'm kind of back at square one. So now I'm literally looking at retaking an EMR course with the justice institute so I can know what I'm doing and hopefully get licensed.
