Tender Years Co-operative Center (TYC) was recommended to me by a friend who described it to me as a hidden gem in Mississauga, and I could not agree more! What makes this daycare so special is truly the people that are part of it. You will not meet a more kind and caring person than TYC’s supervisor Fay Lyder. She takes a lot of pride in her work and the team she leads and it shows. Fay and her team are extremely professional, caring, friendly, and thoroughly communicative about your child's needs and development. Through the process of starting my child for the first time in daycare, in the middle of a pandemic at only 18 months, I was reassured by Fay every step of the way that my child was in excellent hands and her well being and development was their top priority. I was extremely lucky to have Mrs. Charron as my child’s educator. From day one Mrs. Charron focused on developing a bond with my child and soon enough within days of being in daycare for the first time (and away from mom and dad) the tears my child had upon drop off turned to warm smiles of excitement every time she would see Mrs. Charron. Mrs. Charron made sure I received wonderful photos of my child in the playground, interacting with other children, eating, sleeping, painting, dancing, playing with legos etc. I also received daily reports outlining what she ate, how much she slept, how many diaper changes she had. All these updates made a world of a difference for me as a new mom (being away from my child for the first time) wondering how my little one may be adjusting, whether she was eating, sleeping… It was the smallest gesture but it made the world of a difference for me, especially during the first few days. To date I still really look forward to the photos and daily updates every time! I also truly appreciate how much thought and planning Mrs. Charron puts behind the activities that the children do on a daily basis. Before each week, and at the end of each week, Mrs. Charron shares her weekly educational plan detailing the different activities planned for the children/or that the children did under categories such as: Dramatic/Creative Play, Block/Mathematic Play, Sensory/Science/Nature Exploration, Language and Literacy Play, Belonging, Engagement, Expression and Wellbeing. Health and Safety: Other things that were also very important to me with respect to health and safety were the Covid-19 measures the daycare follows. All staff wear masks at all times, and often times I see them wear both a mask and face shield. Washing hands is made a priority and I see it in my child as she loves now constantly washing her hands (children/staff/caregivers wash their hands throughout the day, before meals and after diapering). Toys are disinfected on a regular basis. Upon arrival every morning the child’s temperature is taken and appropriate covid-19 related questions are asked to the parents before admitting the child in for care. Also very important to note is the location of this daycare. We loved the location of this daycare because it is located in a very safe area, with safe surroundings (there are no main streets or roads near it). The children’s play area is really pretty, very clean, well maintained and fenced. Each child group depending on their program has their own designated outdoor play area which I thought is quite important for social distancing measures. Fees: TYC is a not-for-profit organization with extremely fair fees compared to other daycares I looked into. Their fees, in my opinion, are worth every penny for the quality of utmost care that they provide. In my specific case my child has some dietary restrictions due to egg and cows milk protein allergy and this has not been a problem at all. She has been wonderfully accommodated and the food she is offered is healthy and nutritious TYC was definitely the right choice for us. We love it and we can see that our little one really does too (which is the best feeling as a parent). I highly recommend it to my friends and family who are looking for a wonderful child care centre.

I love this daycare! My daughter (2 year-old) started on January for the first time and she was so happy after 1 week! Mrs. Fey, Mrs. Zainab and all the staff are amazing and so loving and caring with my daughter.

Our experience at Tender Years has been fantastic. Our son has only been there a few weeks but we've found the school to be welcoming and the staff to be exceptional. We're really happy to have our child at this wonderful school and to join this great community! Highly recommend sending your children here.

An amazing daycare that operates like a school. Structured play that helps the students learn and grow. A clean facility with a well maintained and secure playground. The staff here are the finest preschool teachers that treat the students like their own children. We love being a part the Tender Years Family. Our child loves it here and in these uncertain times, TYC has given them certainty in a structured and safe environment to develop and grow. We go to work knowing our child is in the hands of family. For those of you with children that will be starting JK in the fall, consider TYC. This place will be open, teaching and caring for children even if the local school is closed to in-class learning.

My daughter loves going to school here and talks about it and her teachers all the time. It's a great location with a big playground in a quiet area. The classrooms are big with lots of space and the staff are very friendly

As a co-op, TYC is one-of-a-kind daycare/school for parents. The interets of families are always put first, because they literally "own" the school! I would highly recommend TYC to anyone in the area.

My son attended TYC in 2019 when he was 3 years old as a part time preschool/twice a week student. It was his first time in a school setting away from family and he had a very rough first start... his teacher Ms. Alexa (and all the staff there) were so caring and attentive and made him feel right at home within the first few weeks! He loved her and his classmates and still remembers it over a year later! I feel it really helped prepare him for JK. I also volunteered at Bingo night and it was so much fun - definitely worth the few hours a month to see the proceeds going back to the school to support the staff and student.

Once TYC family, always TYC family! This school is the most wonderful place for kids. I had both of my daughters there for pre-school, and brought my kindergardener back for the k-boost program. The staff is all outstanding and treats the kids as if they were their own. I never had any reservations leaving the girls there, and they both absolutely loved it!

We are very happy having our son attend the pre-school program at Tender Years. He learns so much, explores new things and is becoming less of a picky eater. The teachers are very caring and attentive. They do a great job providing regular updates (and photos!) of what the kids do in-class. My son comes home from school each time with a big smile on his face. Highly recommend sending your young ones to Tender Years!

Our kiddo has been at the school for over a year. We love the sense of community and the amazing quality of education that is provided. I really enjoy the use of the ELECT curriculum, teacher planning time, the fact that this school is part of Raising the Bar in Peel. Very COVID safe. Feel so comfortable with my babe at this fantastic school.

Tender Years is a great place to enroll your child. Highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a positive start to their child's educations. Class sizes are small and teachers and staff do an excellent job making this school a welcoming and nurturing learning environment for the kids.

This is the best school for little kids. The teachers here as so loving and warm that the kids instantly feel comfortable. It is a great environment for learning and my son used to love going there. Even after we left the school, he still always talks about his teachers and time there. The parents and teachers are like a family and I am so happy to have been a part of it. If we didn't move, I never would have moved my son to another school. The most nurturing environment for a child to be in.

I think this daycare deserves 5 starts or more. It s been only 40 days that I am sending my 2 years old son there and he has already learned lots of things, his attitude is changed in a good way, he is more confident and independent. Teachers are amazing and very competent. They listen to my concerns and they explain every detail about my son's day. They are really really attentive with children. We really like this daycare!

BAIT AND SWITCH: This is the best way to describle the school. First and formost the reviewer Sue Goode is Susan Goode who is the owner/director of the school which simply pisses me off when a owner ups her business. The school will no longer be a co-op dubing newbies who wish to join for the coming 2017-2018 They never tell any details of the finances but the Co-Op school should in theory. They offer low prices but all parents get million emails about contributing to some fund raising activity. They try to get every possible cent out of you. The force you to pay 175 for an event which doesn't even have children(some school 'event') IF YOU ignore this review and proceed to join this school: DO NOT and I MEAN DO NOT SIGN UP FOR BINGO. The teachers are amazing but they leave because Carla and Susan are impossible to work with.
