I actually currently go to this school and I think it's pretty good. the teachers are engaged, I'm actually learning and understanding at the same time. The food isn't all that bad (not the best but after primary at some public school elsewhere, my standards were certainly not that high) and the school trips are super fun, especially the sec 3 trip for everyone which we call "Camp Rouge" (sure they forced us to pay money for it, but it's worth it for the high school memories).
So why did I put 4 stars? Well first of all, the presence of computers. I understand how lucky we are and they're of pretty high quality too, however, it's all people do now. During lunch, between classes, everyone is on their phone and even during class you can easily find people doing other things on their computers. This is obviously against the rules but it's excessively easy to get away with it. I feel like they rely on technology sometimes a bit too much too...
Then there's the new uniform-
the old one was fine, plenty comfortable (and some of the girls were wearing it rolled up to the point that the skirt itself didn't serve much purpose). I understand the old company they relied on went bankrupt, but the uniform was cheaper, much nicer, it provided more options and the shirts weren't white so they didn't get permanently stained. Why not keep the same design?
Finally, there are other issues like drugs and stress, but these things can be found at any other school really. Stress can get pretty serious, but since i'm not someone who gets that stressed, it doesn't particularly affect me.
Overall, I'm glad I go to this school and I appreciate that I have the resources to even be there. Would I recommend it for your child? Sure. It's not all bad and you do learn things. Maybe I was just lucky with my classes and program so far. I have no idea what it's like in the sports and dance program (I'm in science), apparently it's a bit more chaotic. Anyways, that's all for my ridiculous paragraph, i'm glad anyone actually read this far, that's admirable.
