Both of my children have attended this wonderful preschool. The ECE, Sue Obee, is phenomenal, as is all the support staff. A wonderful inclusive environment with play-based philosophy & loads on outdoor play in the huge play-yard is a treasure in this day and age.

I was a newcomer in Victoria and found this preschool on line. The reviews were good and I am glad to say that it really made justice. We loved the school space and the teachers. My soon developed is art made new friends and learned to speak English. We were very welcomed in the communnity throughout the several gatherings that the preschool makes. It was a very good experience for us. I feel that know he is ready to go to kindergarten and will be well adapted.

My only regret when it comes to Lakehill is not finding it sooner! My daughter currently attends the preschool and we can't say enough good things about the wonderful ECE Sue and her philosophy of learning through play. I truly believe my daughter has flourished here and we will be so sad to go at the end of the school year, but we're well prepared for kindergarten thanks to Sue's great guidance :)

When I first moved back to Victoria with my family 3 years ago I felt quite isolated and had a hard time settling in and meeting other families. I signed up my older daughter at a coop preschool (Lansdowne, unfortunately not around anymore) the following year and felt and instant sense of community and enjoyed working in the classroom and getting to know all the kids and parents. When my second daughter was ready for preschool i signed her up at Lakehill and I’m so happy I did. The teachers are wonderful and the activities engaging and great outdoor play area. I’d recommend this preschool to anyone! It’s great way to learn how a preschool is run and great to contribute to give back to the community.

We have been operation for 43 years and place high value on child centered learning and learning through play. As a coop, our parents have the opportunity to participate in their child's learning under the guidance of our wonderful ECE. We also have the flexibility of partial participation. Our ECE is highly respected in our community and has been leading children in exploration and fun for over 20 years. We have a spectacular outside space that offers children the opportunity to learn in nature. FREE drop in play group lead by our fantastic ECE every Wednesday, 3-430 (excluding holidays and breaks). My third child is attending Lakehill Preschool and loving it! This warm, friendly, inviting school has been a great place for our children. Lakehill's ECE, Sue Obee, meets every child where they are at with compassion, humour and genuine interest.

We heard about the Lakehill preschool free Wednesday afternoon drop in (!!) , came, played, chatted to teacher (ECE) Rebekah and put ourselves on the waitlist there and then. We liked the outdoor play area, indoor area with all its variety- various train options for my train fanatic son and anything else you can think of. When we got a space teacher Rebekah was amazing and patient with my shy little one so he really let go at his own pace. My son wasn't fully potty trained yet and the staff were great and accommodating and supportive. The cooperative feature makes a great way to meet other parents, see what your child is doing in their social space and feel like a community. I would recommend and do to other parents.

This is my son's second year at Lakehill and I'm so glad we stumbled across this preschool. I love their philosophy of learning through play and child centered learning. It has allowed my son to flourish on his own time. The parent participation is a great option, giving me a chance to see and participate in my son's learning. The parent education is fantastic as well. Even when I was partial participation, I still went because it's like training for parents! I recently found out that Lakehill has been operating for over 40 years and our ECE has been there for 20+ years. I keep coming across people (my neighbours, for example) whose children of all ages went to Lakehill. Such a great community to be a part of.

We found out about lakehill preschool after someone suggested their Wednesday playgroup (3-430). After seeing the space and meeting teacher Sue we registered right away. I could not be happier with my experience being part of this community and I will certainly be sending my son when he's old enough.

My daughter goes here and absolutely loves it! Their play area in the back is huge; she runs around and burns off all her energy ;-) I enjoy being able to go into the class with her once a month too! Its a great school!
