As a man coming forward to report the abuse of my children, both physically and mentally, by their mother, my efforts have been met with unimaginable resistence. I have been patronized, marginalized and antagonized by the very worker that was supposed to investigate my reports. In the end he did not provide any conclusions to the case and left it open such that there was nothing we could bring to the courts. He no longer works for CAS. CAS has failed to comment on the circumstances regarding his inaction or his behaviour. It is disturbing that after I presented pictures of the abuse, had witness statements of my former partners erratic behaviour, and corroborated with past police reports - that CAS still would not admit that what she was doing was harmful to my children and myself. Sadly I have seen CAS show more concern with supporting the IMAGE of the battered and abused woman/wife, than actually helping my children. Instead of protecting my children, they have protected her from prosecution and judgement. It is absolutely disgusting how I have witnessed this organization pass responsibility to other members of its staff, and then make no efforts to correct the wrongs they have done but rather have tried to conceal why that worker no longer works for CAS. In the mean time...this stalling tactic by CAS, by not getting involved left the courts to decide custody without their input. The Courts then take the stand that if CAS doesnt want to get involved, there must not be a problem. WRONG. There is a very BIG problem here. As a man, speaking out to any other men considering calling CAS...think very very hard about what you want to achieve. I wanted to get help for my family, children, myself and my wife, but that's not what happened at all. My kids were kept from me for 6.5 weeks while the entire time the CAS worker kept saying "you have equal parental rights". But since my former partner was instructed to go to the Mississagi shelter, where men are not allowed, I was kept from seeing my kids. The lawyers and CAS know this fact and system...I did not so they infact enabled my former parnter to do this and alienate a good father from his children for no reason other than their own agenda. Remember men, there are no mens' shelters or mens' groups to take you in with your children, pay your bills or hold your hand throughout this process like there are for women. But if you're a woman and go to the women's shelter, like the one offered in Blind RIver...be fore warned, men are not even allowed to enter since men are discriminated against as all are being labelled as perpetrators and abusive husbands and fathers...SIMPLY NOT TRUE! But thus starts the precedent of giving custody to the mother, since men are restricted from seeing their kids...with no evidence needed in part of the women! Best advise.... if your wife or female partner is abusive to you and your children...go to the Police, with a witness, make a report AND get a lawyer from outside the local area...everyone here seems to have a pre-disposition against men, and you will be the odd man out, literally. I really have to wonder what prospects the boys of today will have in society of tomorrow when only women can be victims. I am so so disappointed with this organization. The victims are my children and myself and your organization made things worse for us. At some point enough MEN will make their voices heard...until then the bias, judicial prejudice and injustice towards men and their families will continue. Shame, shame, Shame on all of you involved that misled me to believe you would help me and my children and yet did nothing to help us. Protecting your organization and the idea that all women are batter wives appears to be your priority. Calling your organziation actually made it worse! You really have no idea the pain, agony and suffering you have caused me and my boys. Do you even care? Or has your self serving arrogance and agenda replaced your common sense entirely?
