For most of us when starting a home reno you want to find professionals who specialize in one specific area, in this case flooring, to ensure quality of products , have first-hand knowledge and can help you when making decisions. I purchased some gorgeous cork-backed slate floor tiles that were on clearance - and clearly told Jim, the manager that I wanted to have them mounted on a feature wall - with his "yeah, people do that all the time, will look great!" ringing in my ears. I couldn't find anyone who would install them. Not even Google had anything on them. I then find from mft. that these absolutely should NOT be used as anything other than floor tiles. I emailed Jim and asked for a refund - it was his mistake as the professional in letting me buy them - and assured him I intended to continue purchasing my other flooring needs from him. His response was "I told you they were not returnable as they are on sale". His "but I'll give you a store credit" fell flat as he never acknowledged any responsibility for not knowing his own products. He would rather risk losing a customer than ensuring I was confident with him and his store. I felt that I was now forced to deal with someone who has no concern that he's selling the wrong products with full knowledge of intended use. How could I use him for my other flooring needs if he can't get this small starter project going in the right direction. Despite Better Business Bureau's efforts to get him to communicate and work it out Jim refused until warning letter issued and then ignored my clear points as to his responsibility and repeated "I told her she couldn't get a refund!" Luckily I was able to sell them on Craigslist to people who are completely aware of where to apply this flooring - I only lost $180 - thanks Jim! So for the total of $600 that he could have refunded and kept me as a customer for 2 bathrooms, laundry and guest room flooring, he's lost thousands and trust me, I've told so many of my neighours who are busy with reno's. Tile City in Nanaimo has now gotten all my business and I am so pleased with the results! Shame on you Jim - for not seeing a simple solution to a problem you created.

NO pressure salesmen at this store, it's a place where you can enjoy a relaxed floor shopping experience. Plus they were very helpful when needed. Consequently we bought all the new flooring for our entire house from them & at extremely good price.

I wanted new carpet in our guest room but put off the purchase as there was quite a bit of furniture to move, AND the room was a funny size, which meant seams, ugh! If you are thinking like me, you should go and see Andrew at the Floor Center. He sold me the most beautiful Karastan patterned carpet, and arranged for my furniture to be moved in and out, removal of the old carpet and pad AND the new carpet to be vacuumed!! Terry, the craftsman installer did such a beautiful job, the seams were flawless. Woo, so easy, why did I put this off for so long? The room looks bigger, brighter and up to date. Thanks for all your good work Andrew and Terry. Well done and much appreciated.

A really wonderful selection of all types of flooring and very helpful staff. After discerning what we were interested in, we were shown the area where our products were located, where prices were displayed, our questions were answered and then we were left alone to browse through the many samples. When checking back to see if we had more questions, we were offered the option to sign out the five large samples we were most attracted to so we could see how they looked in our home. At no point was there any pressure by the store so it made for a very comfortable shopping experience and very easy to decide what will work for our home. I will be very comfortable recommending this store to friends and family.
