This Kindergarten corresponds to the category of Department store.
Still an awesome place in my books. Found everything we were looking for and the staff are always so helpful
Quality gear and good service.
Picked up my customers van and trailer headed for Florida. Trailer plug was corroded and couldn’t leave the island with it. Comox Vallley RV who sold him the trailer for $11K the day before refused to help us out. …
GREAT I SPENT $1400, ???????? BUT I NEEDED IT !!!!!
Terrible store. I asked 2 separate workers for help and their answer was "That's not my department".... shame
Truth be told, I'm not a Canadian Tire fan at all. Most of them need MAJOR coaching in customer service, and many of their staff are downright rude. But THIS one is good. Classic small town experience. Friendly people and the usual huge variety of very fairly priced stuff. I say do it!
The workers are always friendly here but there's far and few in between when you're looking for something and trying to find someone you spend about 10 minutes just to get some help.
Great service, awesome price, and availability
Nice clean store. Great staff
The guys in the shop went above and beyond helping me get my truck lifted. They took amazing care of it, kept me updated along the way and blew my expectations away. Hands down would go to these guys for anything automotive related. Thanks again from one very happy customer!
Last Sunday, September 5th, my husband had a situation involving major damage to 2 tires of our van. After managing to get a ride to your store in Courtenay, he was amazed at how wonderfully helpful the team was in the tire department … …
Not dog friendly ???????? while other Canadian tire stores even ask you to not leave your pets in the hot car this store doesn’t care apparently. We’ll be shopping somewhere else!
Canadian Tire has a lot of things to offer for every household needs as well as paints, and so forth. I love to go around the store and browse almost every sections except the tire section which I do go to when I need too. …
Everything under one roof and the service was great.
One of the best stores in town
Pretty good selection of different bulbs. Nice Christmas displays.
I don’t know whats wrong with them, but auto service department tried to take advantage from a women who have least car knowledge and almost made me pay $300 just without even knowing actual issue. Truly Fraud!! Be careful!
I love this store Except finding staff is difficult
Awesome store with friendly staff. Can’t wait till Boxing Day!
They had a couple good deals and carried items I couldn't find elsewhere. I wish I didn't need a card or app to get "CT Money" rewards program. Should be able to look it up by phone number, or even tie it to my debit card, or to Google Pay. I feel a little ripped off every time I shop there: penalized with a 5% sanction, for not wanting to carry another card or install an intrusive app. (even though the 'reward' is now actually <½%.) ???? I used to love shopping at Canadian Tire.
Great crew working here. The supervisor or team lead for the outdoor/firearms section is very polite. The customer service line moves rather quickly too! I was impressed at least 3 or 4 times now. I'm glad they're in town, and I'm happy I can support their business!!
One of the best stocked stories and plenty stocked items
Great place and good sales prices.
I would've given 5/5 stars, but their car batteries are garbage. I have bought 7 RV batteries over the years and every one has failed within 3 months of the warranty running out. You can never get a straight answer, when you ask when the …
Not one employee is wearing a mask or practicing distancing. Pretty dystopian. Not coming back again.
Hmm website said 18 availible in the store , head from Comox to courtenay, and sure as sh.. None AVAILIBLE!!?? I
Great Auto Repair....fair quotes and good repairs.
I just had the absolute worst experience at this store. I wanted to buy a cleaning Mitt but there 2 spots with a similar product. The spot that had 1 in it was clearance so i took it. At the till I asked the associate to tell me the price to make sure I got the clearance one. She said it wasn't but called and they said it was the wrong one so I took it back to get the correct one. I had an associate scan both. I got the clearance one and went to put the other one back and fix the boxes to be in the correct spot. All of a sudden a male employee who I know as he used to work with me stormed up and told me to stop. He was incredibly rude. I went and asked to speak to a manager. The manager was listening to me when the associate stormed up behind me and tried to interrupt. When I stopped talking he said he was sorry he was rude but and tried to justify his rudeness. That is not an apology. I stated that and told him he knew me as an hone st person from my job as loss Prevention. He said he didn't know me. The whole time he made me feel like a liar and thief. I was definitely upset and told him he did know me and he was lying. The female manager did apologize but the whole experience was very upsetting as I have been dealing with health issues that this will directly affect. Having to ask to be treated with respect in a store I shop at rather than the one I work at and get a discount on is disgusting. I love Canadian tire and always have good service and interactions with staff but I might just spend my money elsewhere if I have to worry about being treated so poorly.
Update: All done at Brakes and Muffler! I don't need to change a new Caliper! Canadian Tire is good but customer service …
Top of the line security system. Great customer service. Superb ownership and management. All in all one of my best retail experiences in a long time. Highly recommend.
Very friendly hard working staff and good customer service and a very clean store and their manager Keith looks like Jay Leno.
What do you say about it... It's Canadian Tire????????♀️
A nice big Canadian Tire, large store, well stocked, great sporting goods section …
Helpful and friendly staff, good pricing, and good quality items!
New store has a decent parking and roomy enough for convenient shopping. Regular discounts are making this store a good place to visit.
Really appreciate that I could return an air mattress, no problem. The staff was helpful and courteous. I'd suggest Canadian Tire not carry this particular item (outbound queen double high air mattress) as the reviews are terrible, but the return is what mattered to me. More generally, I've had a lot of great experiences shopping at this store.
What can you say? Canadian Tire is the go to store for everything, except groceries and lumber. Good parking and store hours.
I was looking for some wood in hardware for my new project. One of the friendly workers there, Tin, was super helpful and nice.
If you need things, and you need them cheap, this is your place. If you can't find the things here, go next door to Home Depot.
Great deals but staff is hard to find for assistance
I've been to the automotive center a number of times to have my car serviced, and I always walk away happy. I have found the staff to be quick, efficient, courteous, and honest. They have never overcharged or done work that my car doesn't need (even though they could have - I very obviously don't know much about cars, and they have never taken advantage). They have won my trust and I will keep coming back.
Automotive team are great, especially when breaking the bad news that my car needed more fixing than we thought. Lady at the front counter was unnecessarily rude, didn't like her tone at all. If you're in customer service you should speak kindly to people
I really like this store... they have everything from seasonal to household and automotive needs. I recently bought a chair for a desk and wish I would have got it somewhere else like an office supplies store. We have bought work out gear here aswell... I would have given 5 stars but when we were there one time there was 4 sales associates standing talking to each other and I had asked where and item was and they pointed in the direction "and said back that way" I was really disappointed because I'm sure that one of them could have easily showed me where it was. I take customer service really serious. And quality of that service matters to me. I'm sure ot matters to the manager aswell. I think it would be fair to say that it just wont be my first pick anymore... I dont mean to be a negative Nelly. It's just my review.
They take back my returns hassle free
Everything is in good order.
Staff are taking the covid19 social distancing very seriously. Overall good shopping experience
Good store but overpriced items
Worst “mechanics” around I wish I could give them ZERO stars! I will be taking my complaint to head office. My daughters suv was brought in they were told we thought it was the strut. They then tell us it’s the ball joint and the struts are …
Only place to go for hardware and huge selection of plants and gardening supplies.
Meh... the thing about Canadian tire is they have some pretty awesome sales that are hard to pass up. My issue is that most of the staff aren’t really knowledgeable about the products. Another MAJOR gripe of mine is the carts that are …
They always have what I am looking for.
Great for online shopping
Some good deals with big selection
No backpacks aloud in the store so I didn't go in while I was waiting for a friend. Not trusting some randos to watch my bag, when the point I am carrying it about in first place is because I have stuff in the damn thing I am needing.
There are two entrance doors to get inside for shopping. One way is through the mall. The other way is from the service department side. Whenever I tried shopping at the shop to buy auto parts, employees don't let me in to shop and tell me to go around and use the other door to get in. If I have to use the other door, I have to walk another 10 to 15 minutes to go around the mall. Why they even create the door or let the door open for entrance if they don't let customers in to shop inside? Sometimes people look completely normal; but some people have difficulty walking. There are many elderly customers too. I don't know why they create this policy.
Happy with this place sofar
Easy to find what I was looking for. Friendly cashier's.
I found everything I needed for everyone on my Xmas list
PubYes hubby got nbiniñunnhin
A huge store and helpful staff !
I am newly disabled and found things difficult. Very young staff did their best but not all disabilities are visible
Canadian Tire. What can I say. An institution of Canadian hardware and DIY dreams. Add to that housewares and a garden center and they almost have it all.
I think this is the only Canadian Tire that does not allow you to bring in your dog. This is really the only point of differentiation that would make me choose to shop here over any other box store. As a single pet owner, it can be challenging to go out with your pet, especially on a hot day. Knowing there is a place to go in if we need something while out and about has always been such a selling feature of Canadian tire stores. Very disappointed to be turned away today.
very disappointing to get home with a new Fiskar reel mower after taking 4 ferries to pick it up, only to find it used and reboxed. Not a great response from Can tire.
Always helpful and friendly. The store is easy to access from mall side or front and back door. Great hours and the store is clean. It is a huge store and carries a great variety of products. It always has a large garden centre.
Had what I was looking for.
Was happy to see they hired security to enforce mask rules. After a recent trip to home depot with 2 customers not wearing masks properly and not being asked to leave, I'm going to stick with Canadian Tire. Bought an electric lawn mower here almost 3 years ago, still going strong. Good selection and strong return policy.
They had no wash brushes and was hard to get any direction . Leaving my bag at the front desk I am not comfortable with at all .
This is the best Canadian tire on the island, great employee's
Amazing store with great managers and team members.
What a surprise!! Just moved from the mainland to here. Let me tell you this location is 10 times better in every way, cleanliness, service, selection, organization, heck even the prices seemed better. I was blown away at how nice it was in …
I still remember the space it is in being zellers, but Canadian tire is making great use of the space now. I moved out of Courtenay years ago, but was visiting when I had a problem with A tire, I stopped by and they had me on the road in no …
Meh
They have such great service. Their new curbside pickup is awesome. Enjoy shopping there!
Lacks so many things , normally have to travel to Courtenay to actually find what I'm looking for Stores so outdated
I love the huge amount of product the store offers and the prices are actually very good when they have a sale one... which is weekly. However... customer service can be pretty suspect at times. It seems like some staff don’t really want to be there. Update -Recently I have found that the guy that works in the hand tool department to be quite accommodating in helping me find what I was looking for. Automotive seems to be hit and miss.
Love the store.
Great CT, fast tills and helpful staff.
Same as all the others !
Quick in and out till line 30 second Wait
Was in there this am.Staff was very helpful. Also no problem getting some one to help to load my purchases in my car.I don't go there to often but visit when I need certain things.overall a good experience.
Always a good experience while visiting this Canadian Tire location. Helpful staff always willing to lend a hand in helping me find everything I am looking for!!
I always love canadian tire.
good
Every time I come here I swear I will never come back, and every time I need something cheap and quick they remind me why that is
Huge and well-laid out store, with plenty of stock. Missed five stars only because cashiers were unorganized at the customer service counter and openly griping in front of customers. Please inform them that they should never be agitated or short with clients, or show their frustration with their jobs.
Love CT frequent good sales decent quality! But not as happy with vehicle service????
They are doing a great job Through all the covid policies
Our Canadian tire has knowledgeable and helpful staff and a bright, clean and we'll stocked store.
Never had a bad experience here. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
Lined up with 4 others while two employees dealt with somebody with a battery issue, all I wanted was a key cut, but I gave up after 10 minutes.
Merchandise is well laid out and they have a huge selection of different categories of goods. It caters for the motorist, the cyclist and a host of other sports, the carpenter or hobbyist, kitchenware, fuel for open fires or the furnace plus a lot more than I can list here. It's bright and cheery and staff are friendly and helpful. You'll probably find what you're looking for.
What a fabulous Canadian Tire Store! I loved the variety inside, it was clean and well stocked. The giant bear near the entrance and the giant elf in the garden centre was a neat, creative touch. I liked the fact that you had the coffee …
First the tire fell off while leaving the Canadian Tire parking lot after being in Canadian Tire Courtenay for service. Canadian Tire mechanic missed tightening the lug nuts. …
A huge thank you to the amazing team at the Canadian tire automotive in Courtenay. I came in for a car inspection as I was not sure what my car needed. I own a car, know how to drive it, fill it with gas and check my oil but beyond that I'm completely "car-illiterate". I find it very difficult to trust any mechanics as I had several unpleasant experiences in the past at different locations. I have been to this location twice now and both times was pleasantly surprised. Today especially I was blown away by their incredible customer service. Peter and Miguel went out of their way to help me, explaining everything I wanted to know, helping with and fixing everything I needed.....they went above and beyond. I left grateful for their kindness, understanding and help. From now on this will be the only place I'll be bringing my car to. I highly recommend this Courtney location.
Hit the garden centre for sure! Lots of great plants and great prices. People are always helpful here. You can get a plant card and for every 10 $ you spend on live plants - you get a stamp - when the card is full you get $10 off.
Clean.. friendly staff ????
This location was clean and fairly organized. The cashier was pleasant and we were in and out fairly quickly.
They have everything you need. Great deals and excellent payment plans for credit card holders. Also get Canadian Tire money with your purchases that can be saved and used on future purchases. Friendly , helpful staff.
Found some solid motorcycle gloves on clearance, was pretty stoked on the price.. But that's Canadian tire, crazy sales that seem to have no rhyme or reason but who doesn't like when you go in for something and it's half the price you anticipated paying
Well kept store, helpful employees.
This door is actually bigger than it looks. They are usually well stocked.
The staff here are always so friendly & helpful. Store is kept immaculate. Variety of items to buy in the store.
Great store for most of your needs.
Really expensive place to shop. When you pay attention to certain items you'd like and when the thing goes on sale you get to see just how much extra they really charge, cause even on sale they make a decent amount. Also a stand up cabinet fell on my 4 tear old not too long ago. Safety obviously not a priority, as its still not secured.
Fast prompt service
They have a wonderful garden center
Friendly staff and great service!
This location has good hours 8 AM - 8 PM compared to some around the island, a good selection of indoor plants, and lawn mowers, went to another big box store in town and they had 2 lawn mowers to choose from, guess that's why I ended up spending $500 on one here and it was exactly what I wanted the Husqvarna with Honda motor very happy with my purchase.
Great place for all recreational goods, or other stuff.
I needed to get new tires for my 1989 Toyota Corolla, so I called around and found that Canadian Tire had the best deal. The person who initially booked me in was very kind on the phone (which is the only reason I gave 2 stars - otherwise it would just be 1), but after they were installed I was told that my one year battery was pretty much dead. I had just replaced it at a Canadian Tire in Vancouver last year, so this an annoying shock. The guy at the Courtenay store said it would still be under warranty, but it would cost $50 to install a new one. Fortunately, he couldn't fit me in for a few hours, so I said I would check it again once I was back in the city (I should state that I had had no issues with starting the car, but at the rate he told me it was at I should have had to jump it every time I started it). Now, back at the Vancouver store, I wasted 2 hours of my Saturday taking it in to the CT auto service only to have them say my battery was running at 110% capacity. What on earth happened between the Courtenay store and the Vancouver store?! The Vancouver store printed out the test sheet showing me that the results of the battery and alternator were in excellent condition, yet, when I called the Courtenay store back to ask if they still had the print out to compare, he said he couldn't find it and "maybe the paper had run out of the machine". Seems fishy to me! On another note, the same overview sheet that said my battery failed their test said my lights were all in working condition. However, once I reached the Vancouver store my right reverse light was out. It was probably out in Courtenay, too, which leads to think they didn't check anything on the outside of my car at all. As I mentioned, I went in for tires and came out with a bigger, unnecessary hassle that fortunately didn't cost me any more $$.
The only Canadian Tire I've ever been to that's not pet friendly. 1*
Love this place for my car repairs. Ian or Dan are both the people to speak to for any of your vehicle servicing needs!
The fellow named peter dawe was amazing help and very friendly
I was very impressed with this location and helpful staff. I popped in at a very busy time and was helped by two staff members who definitely knew their store and product lines. Huge array of products and the layout was great. I would definitely come back and recommend.
Love this place, it's huge compared to the old location. There setup is very nice.
I got an out of province vehicle inspection at this location. I booked it over te phone, I was never quoted a cost, I didnt care because I needed to have it done. I was told it would take 1 hour. That day, 28 minutes into the service I got a call I needed a piece replaced and it would cost be an other $85.00. I said sure, because I needed to get BC that day and they had the time. I was told it would be an other 40 minutes or so. 30 minutes later I got a call, all done. Awesome fast service.. so I thought. I went to pay my bill and it was almost $500.00 showing on the debit machine, I was in shock and just continued the payment. I wasn't shown my bill before paying, I thought because of covid they didnt want to many people touching papers. My mistake. Got to my car and looked at my bill.. I was charged for 2.5 hours of service and I was there for just an hour. On top of that, a bunch of other service charges I was never told about. I was confused and upset so later that day I went back to speak to a manager. No one was in the automotive department, another manager told me she would leave a msg for the automotive manager and that he would get back to me the next morning. I never got a call.. I waited all day and by 4pm I figured I wasnt getting a call so I drove back over to Canadian tire. When I pulled into the parking lot I got a call from Dan, the automotive manager. Apparently, Dan was so busy that day he couldnt have called me and that he was leaving for the day and would call me tomorrow if he could. I heard the msg and quickly ran inside to catch him before leaving. I found Dan and I experienced the worst customer service I've ever witnessed. I explained to him how I was confused about the charges and how I was never told about these extra hourly charges, shop charges etc. Dan told me "I dont believe you. My men would never not quote you those extra charges" I tried to explain I was only ever told about the part piece costing an extra $85.00 which I was all good to pay for but I wasnt told about any other charges. I told him I wasnt even quoted for the orginal inspection over the phone! "I don't believe you" "Im not arguing with you" . So disappointing and I was belittled in front of other customers. He asked me why I didnt question it when I paid . I told him I didnt get my papers till after I paid and that i figured it was because of covid. Dan told me that was my fault and that maybe I should have looked before I paid. And that it was a lesson to be learned. Dan tried to tell me they charge that much an hour because thats how much hi employees make an hour. I know people who have worked there and no, thats not even close to true. I was straight up lied to by their management and tried to be taken advantage of by their staff. Needless to say, I won't be going back.
It's a CanadianTire. What's there to complain about
Did my brakes recently and I was very happy with the service and price. Went back after 100kms to have lug nuts checked and they replaced a burnt out running light bulb, no charge.
Due to the pandemic, I've been using Canadian Tire's free curbside pickup. I order & pay online. My order is usually ready within a few hours. An easy way to physically distance & stay safe.
This is the fourth time I have used the online purchase and store pick-up system. Each time it has been a very efficient process with excellent service at the customer pickup entrance. It makes large purchases very easy to make and collect.
Only Canadian tire in town but wouldn't have it any other way.
Took my JDM Subaru here for an inspection in Oct 2021 and found out my car needed a bit of work to be insured in BC. The staff (Ron in particular) were very good about explaining to me what needed to be done (and why!). …
The staff were helpful in the garden center and our cashier was delightful.
Staff has always been great to me, but I have to highlight the help I received from a guy called Brett from the hunting department as I was looking for a specific item to gift my husband with. He sure went the extra mile even checking inside of each box until he found it. Customer service that cares and my husband was beyond happy with his present so a huge thank to Brett!
Love the new store. Prices seem to be up but more products. Lots of sale price items though, and that's when I buy. Love the you can also enter through the mall. Hope it will bring in more stores to the mall. Nice washrooms
Bought a really good looking, healthy rubber tree to spice up the office, and we get all our pet supplies for our shop cat here as well. Always quick and easy here.
I always find what I am looking for. Staff very helpful.
Just rude. I generally love cdn tire but not yesterday. I went in to get some pricing on new tires. I was feeling ignored by the guy behind the counter that was 'busy' doing something on the machine, and when he finally did acknowledge me …
I picked up one item. Went thru a cashier " in training" her name is Maya. She did very well. Service with a smile & quick too. Will be back. ????????
Looked for item on line, told me where in the store to look for it. Excellent.
Customer service is almost non existent in the tire section. Good thing you can check stock and order online...
Do NOT pay $100.for delivery in Courtenay/Comox. You will have to wait all day for a truck from Nanaimo to do the delivery! 5 miles away! Why not a local truck?
I like this Canadian tire location. Is pretty big and has a lot of stuff. They are also doing a good job with COVID measures. Auto shop changed my tires quickly and the service personnel are professional and knowledgeable. General employs have been awesome as well as if they were unable to help me they found someone else who could. Would recommend shopping here
This has to be the very BEST Canadian Tire I have ever been in. It's just a fun place to shop in because of the variety of excellent products, totally organized and clean. Best garden shop in the spring. Just LOVE this store!
Dropped to 3 stars because they didn't give meany canadian tire money maybe they don't have it anymore wierd
There was an ignorant couple there who weren't wearing face coverings. I mentioned it to security and was informed that they claimed that they were exempt. My question is, why let them in and allow them to put the other patrons at risk? It's fine to claim that you're exempt but there are consequences for your decisions.
great store to work for
It's pretty obvious that the staff at this location have better training and job fulfillment than at other locations. People here are friendly and helpful. Yesterday I was staring mindlessly into a display case and was actually asked by an employee if I needed some help, can't think of the last time that has happened to me at CT.
