I have worked at Vancouver Career College for the past five years teaching Practical Nursing Program and Coordinating Practical Nursing Program for almost three years. I am privileged to work with a great Practical Nursing team of instructors and a great student body. I have enjoyed teaching the Practical Nursing Program. My commitment is to continue to support the students to become a competent Licensed Practical Nurses.

My friend went to an orientation for the EA program and the speaker thought it was appropriate to say 3 out of the students in the program will attempt suicide ???? Very strange start to an education!

Jacquie in the Educational Assistant program is such an amazing instructor, not only did I learn so much but she makes it enjoyable. I found myself sad to be leaving her class as she made my day brighter. Definitely thankful to have had Jacquie as my teacher!

Great staff, caring and helpful instructors. I had an amazing experience at this school and I recommend this college to anyone who is interested in a unique, community based, hands on program. I did social service worker Professional program and have been hired off my practicum! Thank you to all the staff and my amazing instructor for all their dedication and support!

If your looking at the lab assistant program don't take it here! It cost a fortune and we were taught very little. You will not get a practicum in the lower mainland even though they tell you that you will. They flat out lied and told me there was only one spot left in the class so I rushed to join...our class had 6 people with a 14 people capacity! Alot of students had trouble getting jobs as all their practicums were out of town and they couldn't relocate.

I actually quit the Social Services program due to the lack of consistency, instruction and maturity regarding not only the course itself but also the administration, and teachers. I have been debating writing this review, and it is not done so with anger, but rather disappointment. I was pressured into enrolling, and tossed into a linear module with no instruction whatsoever. Not once did I feel confident with what was being taught, and not once did I feel confident about what was happening the next day. I was tossed from the Chilliwack campus to the Abbotsford one, and whether it was due to the teacher being obviously overwhelmed or the drastic change in class size, or the lack of genuine care from any teacher or person in administration, I fell between the cracks. When I left not a soul cared, except for the financial advisor who immediately requested I begin to pay back the money I still owed the school. I could go on for ages about the ridiculous things that happened during my short time with this school, but bottom line the entire experience was beyond overwhelming, and beyond disappointing. Oh- they also took an unauthorized payment from my account and didn’t tell me about it until I saw it :) I definitely won't be recommending VCC to any of my peers looking to explore post secondary options.

I have almost completed my Practical Nursing Program!!! It has been a challenging and a rewarding journey, and I am excited to see what the next chapter brings! Thank you to all the staff at Abbotsford Vancouver Career College for your guidance and support.

Never take the MLA (medical lab assistant) program at this campus! They don’t have enough lab equipment to give you proper training. They also are not recognized by big health organizations ( ex. Fraser Health, Vancouver Coastal, Providence Health Care, etc.) so basically you can’t take practicums in any hospitals. Finding work as an MLA is excruciatingly difficult. I would highly recommend pursuing this program at a public college such as Vancouver Community College to get your money’s worth of proper training as well as having higher chances of employment.

EDIT AFTER RESPONSE FROM OWNER * oh I’m sorry I didn’t know we had a campus director to go to considering this campus has GONE THROUGH 2 DIFFERENT DIRECTORS IN 4 MONTHS Obviously I am using a fake name to write this review because I am a current student and I don’t want to catch heat for this so with that being said strap in because I have a lot to say about Vancouver Career College. 1. The tuition here is absolutely outrageous for what you receive and how you are treated as a student. 2. This is a FOR PROFIT institution. Don’t let them fool you this is a business first and a place of education last . 3. There is zero communication between the school and it’s students and I can confirm that the story about extreme weather closure confusion is true and very frustrating. 4. The curriculum for my specific course has had to be restructured several times because of broken video links, and incorrect information. Being a school this is not ideal. 5. It is very hard to keep track of your progress and grades when the online learning system doesn’t post them properly I could go on but suffice to say that this school cares about one thing and it is not it’s students or education, please go anywhere else and save yourself from this mess

I have worked at Vancouver Career College in Abbotsford for 9 years teaching in the Practical Nursing Program. My greatest satisfaction in my job is the experience of guiding nursing students to the goal of becoming practicing nurses. I am dedicated to working with the Practical Nursing team to provide the very best education possible for our students. Their success is my reward. Great local team!

I was so nervous when I started the PN program here at the Vancouver Career College in Abbotsford. The staff there made starting school so much easier. The door was always open to speak to one of the reps (Sam or Jon) or Cassandra the campus director. Everyone is always willing to help or direct you in the right direction. My time here has been great. I cannot thank Vancouver Career College enough.

Sharlane Van Zyderveld

I had the best college experience being here! I was so nervous in taking this giant leap to start off my adult life, but there I was, and I am forever grateful! VCC has such a wonderful team who truly cares about you as an individual who continually guide you throughout your process. I took the HCA course and was able to get a job under fraserhealths belt (basically my dream team job) immediately! During my interview they noticed I graduated from VCC and they really liked that especially because of the extra courses VCC gives for HCA ex workplace violence! If you're interested but holding back dont you have nothing to lose but so much to gain! Good luck!!! :)

I completed the Social Service Worker Program at the Abbotsford campus and thoroughly enjoyed my experience!

I'm currently enrolled in the school and their complete disregard to our safety is very unprofessional. Three different times has the rules been changed and as by Monday, they changed the rules that they don't close with the schools only by transit. Transit was closed today and now we have to be in school because they changed the rules again this morning. These inconsistencies have interfered with me being able to be a successful student.

brielle becket

I have completed the Medical office assistant program! Shout out to all the amazing staff who help me realize my potential!

Working as an ECE instructor at Abbotsford campus is a rewarding experience. There are so many aspects of this position, and all of them are equally important. At first, educating young people about the importance of quality programs and interactions in early years provides me with an opportunity to make a positive difference in lives of children and their families . Then, connecting with daycares in community gives me an insight into the needs of our families and implementing that into our program at campus. Finally, working in partnership with the staff on the campus creates an atmosphere of support and understanding for both students and staff. At all times, I feel respected and valued from both students and all the staff on the campus. Our days in the classroom are combination of lectures, videos from the filed, discussions, readings, researches, creative expressions, and much more in order to prepare students for various experiences in the work setting. As it is visible from the above mentioned, I am enjoying working here :-)

Julie Pham

I have been working with VCC for 3 months now and it has been such a wonderful experience. It is most rewarding to connect with the students, see them succeed and know the difference that you are making in their lives. The director and staffs at this location are very warm and welcoming, and another rewarding factor is being recognized for your efforts (: You also get the chance to branch out to other locations as you connect with instructors of the same program to support each other. It is a valuable learning experience as you teach and renew your knowledge alongside the students!

I enjoyed the social service program! Both challenging and rewarding!

My experience has been amazing, Jacquie was my instructor for the EA program and she is wonderful!! She made this experience an unforgettable one! Her teaching skills are out of this world she never left till I felt comfortable and fully understood. I'm so blessed to be able to meet such an amazing person like her!! I truly recommend the EA program you won't be disappointed :)

The smaller class sizes are great. I felt like the teachers really cared and were personally invested in my learning. I was able to get one on one help when I got stuck on understanding things.

Enrolling in the Practical Nursing Program was the best decision I have made. Although the work load is intense, the support is amazing!

sara caine

The Social Service Worker program was both challenging and rewarding. I was encouraged to step out of my comfort zone, focus on my strengths and explore my weaknesses. I enjoyed the program, the community involvement, and the lasting friendships that i made.

Solina Gregson

I Loved!! my experience at this school I would do it all over again and was sad to leave my class when my course ended. Alison was such an amazing teacher and taught us so many valuable lessons that are completely applicable in the field. I could not have gotten a better education anywhere else and I have highly recommended this school to many people already.

Yolanda Black

Jacquie was my teacher in the EA course. We had in-school classes before Covid and Jacquie was great! She was always there to help me anytime I needed it and was very encouraging. I graduated with honours and got hired only 4 days after graduating! I couldn’t have done that without Jacquie’s expert help! I didn’t think I could do well in school but here I am a college grad, working in the field I love and helping to support my family. Thank you Jacquie for all that you did for me ????

I am a student of Vancouver Career College Abbotsford, currently on my practicum. The training I have received has more than prepared for my desired field. Alison Patchett was my instructor, with years of working in the support field, she has a deep understanding of what it takes and what is required to be successful in this career. I would highly recommend that anyone thinking of taking this course, to just do it. One of my best decisions, was enrolling in this program. No regrets, only possibilities.

I've been enrolled at VCC for just under a year now in the Social Services Worker Program and I couldnt be more happier with my experience so far. Learning online during COVID, there has been challenges with the technology but the staff at VCC are more than understanding and want nothing more than for you to succeed and excel in your career. The school is incrediably flexable and welcoming, and for anyone returning to school after not being a student for a while, VCC is highly recommended.

My Education Assistant instructor was Jacquie Grant from Vancouver Career College in Abbotsford. She is the best Instructor, caring and understanding. The knowledge I got from her prepared me for my practicum placement. Now I'm working at the school district. I am so grateful for Jacquie and I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
