Amazing campground. Very close to the beach. Campsites are good size. Not a lot of privacy, but beautiful and clean. A lot of trails to hiking or biking. Close to Green Gables Museum.

tao jiang

Amazing campground with full hookups!

Suzie Carriere

Beautiful park. Cavendish beach has white sand and is very big. There are lifeguards watching over the roped-in area. The campers beach area is just as nice and was a quick walk from our campsite. The sites were clean and well maintained and ours (in section A) was fairly private. The unserviced sites very close to the beach are not and are wide open to each other, so keep that in mind when booking. The park is very close to the Anne of Green Gables attraction. Was great for the family!

Leeloo Hsu

We had an ocean view site. Very nice campground with good amenities. Great sunsets.

Hope Litwin

Amazing facilities with great views Got the tent space very close to beach during the busy fest time Minimal charge and phenomenal experience

Beautiful spot! Amazing sunset and sunrises! Fantastic beach with lifeguards. Camping spots are on the smaller side, and washrooms needed more attention (running out of supplies, etc) but the natural beauty more than makes up for the small inconveniences.

David Pires

A wonderful place for family camping! We loved it! Heads up: Even-numbered sites in the D30s have the best beachside spots.

Juliana Kühnert

A really nice camping ground! The campground my boyfriend and I had was near the beach, and hearing the sound of the waves every morning was fantastic! The bathroom and the laundry are immaculate, and we were amazed about it! The reason I took a star off is because the campgrounds are too close to each other, and you have NO PRIVACY! No tree between campground, no nothing!

Jean-paul Mallette

0 stars because this campground is a joke. I went camping there and when we got there I was told I had to pay $40 just to get a bracelet and another bunch of money for a thing to put in my car window, and I was not told about this until I got there, not to mention that these prices were not included in the site fee or mentioned anywhere! The staff at the front desk were not very welcoming, and the forest officers were extremely rude. They would drive around the campground and look for someone to bark at. They gave the neighbours fines for drinking and made them spill out their liquor, which was completely over dramatic because they were just quietly drinking by a fire. I felt like I had to be inside my tent just to get privacy from their constant driving around. The campsite I was at was not even mowed and had no shade. There was a bunch of gross weeds growing all around and I could barely get to my electric and water because of the weeds. And don’t even think about bringing your dog, they would be on you so hard about that, you can’t even bring your dog on the beach which is just outrageous. Staying at this place was a complete waste of money and time. Really disappointed with my stay.

Great campground right on the water. Lots of good facilities and most sites are fully serviced. Beach has a lifeguard and is beautiful. Sites are private as well. We loved this place.

D Brown

I have to be clear when saying my visit took place during my vacation. The camp sites a a bit small but very well kept. The services are the best that I have ever seen and beach access can't be easier. There was a tragedy that took place at the beach which ended someone's life.. Even with such missfourtunes, the staff pulled together and took care of everyone and kept a strong professionalism. I recommend this spot to anyone and everyone looking for the campground To go to. Best yet!

Billie-Jo Bear

Absolutely beautiful like everything else on this island.

Ken Dabkowski

Tents should not be permitted with RV's when there is no privacy between campsites.

geordy daws

Beautiful spot in the shoulder season. I would not like to be here peak summer though as 200 campsites is A lot! Nice clean facilities, hot showers, though I imagine not enough bathrooms come summer. Beautiful beach. Only downside is the exposed unserviced sites. But that's the price you gotta pay for ocean front accommodation

Cavendish campground was probably one of the nicest Parks Canada campgrounds ive stayed at, even with the recent loss of trees due to the storm a couple years ago. We stayed in an Otentik facing a forest and lake, with the sounds of ocean waves crashing into the shore always present. The bathroom facilities were clean, numerous, and modern. The only thing I would complain about is the lack of cooking tools provided (pots, pans, kettle) as I don't understand why they'd provide plates and cutlery without a way to cook.

Christie Tinker

Campground site had no.privacy between sites due to storm from a couple years ago that took out a lot of trees however all kinds of weeds around sites and not kept mowed down properly. Bathrooms and laundry facilities were nice and clean and was close to the quieter end of the beach which we enjoyed the 2 days we were there before deciding to leave.

Tania Simpson

Very good place for family vocation! Very nice, clean and comfortable! See attached photos

Katie DesLauriers

Nice but busy (it's National Park!). This is the busiest campground on PEI. We had a nice quiet spot at the back (A11) for 8 nights. We had originally booked 14 but decided to stay elsewhere as well. Our site wasn't like the pictures, as there are less trees now for some reason. But it was quiet and further back then most of the ones beside it. Next time I would book in the core (middle) area in where there are more trees and for the most part a bit more privacy. If privacy is not your thing, book one of the spots close to the beach. The beach is very beautiful and also busy. Brackley Beach is a little less busy (or any other beach on the island for that matter).

Meaghen M

One of our favourite places on our East Coast trip. We planned to stay for one night, and ended up staying for 3. Very nice campground with well maintained facilities. Just a short walk to a gorgeous sandy beach. Walk the beach with the ocean on one side and sand dunes on the other. Go down to the beach at sunset for a great evening.

Matt

We were pleased with the campground. After reading the Parks Canada information we didn’t know if our slide out would fit in our site, but since Hurricane Dorian there are few trees to interfere with slide outs. Just a short walk to the beach, bathrooms, and laundry. Helpful park Canada staff.

Melissa Meek

We stayed in a18 which was electric & water, no sewer. Excellent site for privacy, and we watched a pair of bald eagles fly around each evening! Beautiful campground best enjoyed not in July or August!

Monique Coulson

A bit noisy from what we can only assume we’re generators running in the middle of the night. But he campground is beautiful. The bathrooms are spotless and the beach is amazing!! We really appreciated that part was roped off to protect the bank swallows. The sunsets were also to die for!! Can’t wait to come back.

Tara McGaughey

The beach is totally awesome..our tent site was like a hundred yards to the beach..some were almost on it. Washrooms could use some work...but overall really nice place to stay with friendly staff! Love PEI

Colleen Poirier

Best beach ive ever been too! The sand is red! Theres sandstone you can walk on! VERY long beach too! Strongly recommend if your going on a trip in PEI with your family!

Leah D

Spectacular campground. Props to Parks Canada. Had everything one could need and more, including fantastic hikes. I recommend not doing the D campsites that are right along the water. There is no shade, no trees, and no blocking of wind. Anything past D050 should have all those though. All are still very close to washroom and beach and potable water

Serge Garcia

The spots right on the beach are lovely.

Muna Alrefaai

My family and I really enjoy this campground. The beach views are great whether it be the sunrise or sunset. It is very central to all of PEI. We camp with a camper so we get the sites with full service. Some sites are just huge! Would like to see something done with the pee-gravel at the sites. I guess I see why its there; better then mud if it rains, however... it gets everywhere :) The bathrooms that were in our area we very clean (we were on site 46). Definitely recommend this campground if you visit PEI.

Shawn Brewer

Beautiful, clean campground right on the beach. The D loop campsites are very open with no trees or privacy but right next to the water. Other loops have more privacy

Bonnie Hatcher

I absolutely loved this campground. Though the impacts of the hurricane are seen with the lack of old trees, Parks Canada has regrow efforts underway. Lots of clean bathrooms, and very close to trails and the beach. I highly recommend!

Edward Trejo

Nice place and wonderful for camping I would recommend it

Filip Jasinski

Loved our stay on the 'D' loop. Meter meters from the beach, miles from traffic. Tranquille

Brian D

Beautiful beachfront campsites. Nice wooded campsites. Overall, great. One note that we missed...plan ahead. We ended up camping during the music festival so the place was packed!

Paul Carter

Very nice campground without all those campy kids attractions that usually attracts the rowdy crowd. If you go for unserviced spots, i recommend the forested sights as they have some shade, less wind, and are a little more private. The bathroom block is cleaned daily. Dogs are allowed anywhere but on the beach, which is the only downside to the place. You need to factor in the park access cost to the camping fee. It was 20$ per person for a seven day park pass which gives you access to the 2 other federal parks on the island.

Kyle Bonnar

We love staying at campgrounds run by Parks Canada. The facilities are some of the best around. All bathrooms were very clean and the showers had hot water and benches to keep your clothes dry. Power outlets in bathrooms were useful. We bought a seasonal park pass and were surprised by how inexpensive it is to camp with a tent before peak season. For a campsite and a bag of wood (which you get to fill as much as you want one time) we paid $28. The workers at the information center were very friendly and helpful. They gave us tips and said if we found our site to be too windy they would switch our site easily. They also gave us advice for restaurants with good seafood in the area. The view overlooking the ocean was incredible. We will be staying here again.

Sarah Hamilton

Nice camping with clean facilities.

Gordie Hanna

Nice RV sites, full hook-ups, with trees! Very different than most RV campgrounds. Exceptionally clean, modern comfort stations and laundry facilities. Beautiful beaches and coastal dunes.

Gary Randall

This is a great park. There are a variety of sites and a great beachfront. We had a three way, pull through site, A97. This was a sufficiently roomy site with room for the slide (I recall some warnings regarding some sites being narrow). This site was close to a washroom and the laundromat. The washers were $2 per load and the dryers were $2 to start (but that was sufficient). There were about 6 washers and dryers. They had a pavilion where people could have group meals, it was close to the tent section and I imagine the tent campers use that area mostly. The campground was close to a lot of amenities including entertainment, shopping, Anne of Green Gables, golf and North Rustico.

Gerald Clancey

Prince Edward Island Cavendish area National park beautiful sand duned beaches on the Gulf of St Lawrence side of the Island. The campground has some 50A sites but only 30A with full hookup for larger RV'S. The campsites are large with trees providing privacy. Reservations are available online with empty spots easier to find after labour day. The campground has direct access to the beaches for great sunset walks. The homestead bicycle or walking trail is a fun route through the shoreline wetlands bays and farmland. The paved two lane trail all the way to the Nort Rustico beach is a scenic delight with lits of pull off areas like Orby point.

Alexandra Malo Bélanger

Great Campground located close to the Beach! Fantastic Sunsets

Makayla Carter

Very clean but crowded campground. Be warned if you camp with an ocean view you are within a few feet of other campers on either side. No privacy in these spots. There are also rows of poison ivy between you and the beach which obstructs the views...thus the 4*. The other spots look to be really nice. Showers, restrooms and laundry facilities are all superb. This is a nice campground, the Canadian National Parks are well maintained.

Dorian destroyed this beautiful campground

Matt Tinker

Beautiful campground on the ocean.

Suzanne McIntosh

This was our first trip to PEI and this campground was fantastic. We brought our pop-up camper and had a site with full hook-ups. The bathrooms were clean and close, there was a playground for the boys and easy access to a great private beach area!

Olga Onegina

A wonderful experience for camping. One of the most beautiful sites to camp at, with the beach and ocean in clear view of the tent. Site was clean and larger than expected, and the bathrooms and other amenities were clean and easy to access. Recommended for campers of all experience types, an absolutely stunning experience.

Daniel Smyth

Stunning views right on the water.

Kimberley Moher

Homestead Trail ❤????????

Jim Wade

Excellent spot for family with young children. New and diverse playground with quick access to the bathroom. Wonderful beach access that rivals the main park beach. Beautiful water and sunset views. Lots to do in the parks and nearby in town.

JR Lawes

I gave five stars based on the park as a whole. We stayed in the campground and it was ok. The sights are very tight which surprised me compared to other national parks that I have stayed at. We have walked the campground and chose some sights to try out on another trip. It was coll and raining for part of our trip, it made for some really good wave action. It cleared up and allowed to have a really nice sunset walk on the beach. Looking forward to another trip to Cavendish.

Jeffery Buller

Nice sites, new bathrooms and showers and a beautiful beach!

Mark

Great spot! Tent sites overlooking the water. Shaded sites with water and electricity. Beach access. Very clean and modern washrooms.

A D

The views by the water are fantastic. Great comfort stations and services. One of the best campgrounds I've been too so far.

Vasu Banga

This is a rather so so campground on an island that otherwise has such spectacular scenery. It's fairly priced and clean but the beach is kind of boring.

Cliff Crites

Incredible time had at this campground. Served as ideal spot to anchor our stay on PEI as we made daily tours to various locales on the island. Walking the beach was exquisite.

Tanya Petch

Beautiful campground with a beach and FANTASTIC staff. Clean facilities and grounds throughout.

Kyle MacKinnon

Our first and now preferred camping spot in PEI. Amazing campsites to choose from all walking distance from the incredible beach. Washrooms/showers availble all over the campground that make you question if your at a campsite! Friendly courteous staff members that are there to help all around the camp ground. If you don't make a stop over at this place while your traveling through PEI, why even bother going?

Anna Marsh

Clean facilities. Cheap laundry 3 bucks a load washed and dried. Sites are big. Beach is glorious at sunrise. Really enjoyed our stay here. We will be back.

Nick Pizza

Section A of the campground looks apocalyptic. From what I understand it was destroyed by Hurricane Dorian and while it's understandable, they could have cleaned up the tall grass and redone the landscape with new grass, trees, ect. It really was a disappointing area. We've been to many national parks and that section was a let down. The other sections however were much better, but it was too late for us. Hopefully it's repaired in the future because Cavendish is a beautiful area and we would love to try it again.

Nicolasi Matos

great national park in PEI! feel like having a private beach close to the camping site , and it is the best spot for sunset and sunrise !!!

Kevin

Nice place to camping

Colin MacPhail

Car camping is great, basically created a pillowtop mattress in the tent, bathrooms are super clean and modern, and park staff aren't too up in your wilderness business. The fire pits aren't great (almost like deep steel barrels) so I wouldn't bank on cooking on the open fire. I suppose they don't want to burn down a national park so the ???? has to be well contained. We camped right along the beach.. pretty neat stuff this here Canadian wilderness!

Colin Barfoot (Colin59)

Nice clean affordable and very fun ????

Valerie Fitzpatrick

Sunny, chilly day on the beach. ????

Ronald Hochmuth

Awesome experience! Very very quiet also. The park is kid friendly, sells fire wood (6.30$ / large bag), offers both wooded and non wooded sites, and sports plenty of bathrooms! Almost all utility sites have a septic tank which is nice but also kind of smells... the direct access to the beach is the main attraction however and unlike most beaches in pei there is lots of shells/sea glass and lots of room! Definitely recommend this park!

Emilie Cleroux

Great camgroynd

Christian Melis

Beautiful campground. The bathrooms are very clean. You can have easy access to the beautiful white sand beach. There is a lot of trees between most of the campsites so you have a lot of privacy. The beach is amazing. You can walk 5km to go to the point and 5km to come back. When we were there (aug. 2016) there was not much people on the beach, so it was nice and calm.

Angela Schuberg

This is my favourite national park campground. They run off season rates about 5$ less than the other national parks we went to and the view is great with sites right by the ocean and beach. Plenty of showers and clean bathrooms. You will never get a better beach camping location for the price then you will here with a parks season pass and a campsite in June.

Joe Sullivan

Great place but a few things need correction: bathrooms could be cleaner, poison ivy could be chooped down and those mosquitos...

Richard Murdoch

Nice, quiet campground with well groomed bike paths and beach.

Robin Gazaille
