When I was looking for a school for my kid, I visited this place and I was impressed by the quality of the older kids. They seem mature, self-confident, with great personalities. I would believe for most kids this is a great and supportive place to grow up. What happened to my kid was a different experience. The school makes a selection based on the character of the kid - and not on the communication skills as they will tell you. This school doesn't like kids who don't fit the group. And when I say they don't like them, I mean it. My kid was accepted but later on he was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder (ADD). After one year, the director started asking us to change the school. Although we met the teachers regularly, they didn't inform us clearly about the issues with my kid. As the second year began, during a parents day, we went talking with his new instructors. Part of them where really nice and polite persons. When I met the music instructor I smiled to her and introduced myself. Instead of saying hello, her answer was straight away: "When are you going to remove your kid from the school?". This is a school instructor speaking this way. Couple of months later, when my kid was already in another school, one day he told me that back at the Face school, there were several times when he was taken from his class and brought alone inside a room where there was a female person which he didn't know - not one of his instructors. He told me the person would start yelling at him in a horrible way, he said he was so fearful he would start crying. This happened several times, on different days. He could not tell me what the person was yelling about. I never knew about this while he was still at Face, he never told me during that time, probably that shows how horrible this experience was. Rest assured, if I new this when it was happening, I would have come with the police. Also, if you think my kid is inventing this story, I have to say not only there is no reason to invent such story, but the details he was telling could not be invented. Again, this happened in a well known school, located right in downtown Montreal. You cannot imagine how I felt inside me when I heard this from him. Him being hurt in such horrible way, and me I wasn't even aware of it happening. This will leave scares for the rest of his life. This happened in 2010.

My kid is attending maternelle here and so far we are very pleased! Even with covid ! He gets out pretry often - when the weather allowd it- to play outside or in the gyn. He has learned to read and count and doing simple math. He has made many friends and enjoy his teacher very much. The school is old and in need of major renovations so they will soon be moving to another place but it will be in the same area ( more to plateau side). The drop off is chaotic for those who come by car, but it’s doable. They do A LOT of interesting activities ( mostly arts related but again my kid is still in maternelle) and are very stimulated. I see the teachers putting a lot of time and effort in creating a pleaseant space to their students. The parents community is very diverse and united. The kids seems to respect and enjoy being all together-biggies and small ones. The older ones prepare shows and activities for the smaller ones , it’s s very nice. My kid has music class once a week and gym too. The school is more in a laid back mood not a strict academy style, which I enjoy. There is space for reaching and talking to teachers and director even in Covid times. Overall we are very satisfied !

This person intimidated the child several times with shouts and an aggressive attitude, in an isolated room. (Original) Élitisme? Direction procédant à des agressions psychologiques envers les enfants. Mon enfant a été agressé de manière psychologique à l'ordre de la directrice, par une personne employée de l'école, inconnue à l'enfant. Cette personne a intimidé l'enfant à plusieurs reprises avec des cris et une attitude agressive, dans une chambre isolée.

This is an open minded school for all kinds of people. The art program is amazing and even if this school isn’t perfect, it’s like my second home.

Not sure if FACE is bad or if all high schools are bad but FACE was pretty wack. The teachers were bad for the most part with a few exceptions that I really liked. The students were pretty annoying though, unless you like hipsters and whatnot (don't forget snobs too, FACE got plenty of those). Also, FACE has lead in their water so if you value your life I'd stay away.

DO NOT CPME TO THIS SCHOOL!!!! Bullying is an acception THEY DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!!!! I personally got bullied they did nothing to help me! If you value your child's happiness and overall health don't let them come here bullying, exclusion, etc... In the past 7 years I have not! Been happy. I strongly suggest you send your child somewhere else the teachers are aggressive not all of them very few are actually nice and caring the rest are scary and overall unfair. And btw alot of the people who voted it was a good school we're the people who got it easy and we're loved and popular. Look truth in the face and realize what's going on.
