REVIEWS OF Kerry Wood Nature Centre IN Alberta

JP Fortin

Great place for a walk in the city, the best playground and great programs.

Shane Michael John

The interpretive center is cool but the real gem is in the many kilometers of walking paths. If you're lucky and you have kids along, they will have a book, donated by a local school, set out page by page along the length of the main path. Bring mosquito spray and water as the days can get hot and buggy in the summer.

Ernest

There is a platform with blind over the wetland so that you can observe birds swimming around.

Great place to walk would love to give a five star review but found the staff to be rude and knowledgeable. Update made another trip here and had a much better experience staff was very welcoming those time.

I love coming here! There's always something new and exciting to do! The bird sanctuary is lovely as well. I really like the new decals on the bathroom doors, bucks and does. My most favorite thing, though, is the outdoor musical instruments. Such a creative concept!

Kerry wood nature center is amazing, great Flora and fauna to be seen. The leaves and trees were lush with the previous rain ???? Had such a beautiful cool hike with our kiddos, they thought they going on a forest hike. Will be back soon.

This is my new found love! I don't even know how to properly express how beautiful and enriching it feels to walk around Kerry Wood! I love their building with all the interactive knowledge and their gift shop is full of cute surprises! My honey and I plan to go for a walk every weekend around the trails. I'm very thankful this place exists, it feels great to be surrounded by nature :)

Here is nice place to walk and see some wildlife.

A library a great place to gold meeting a great stretch of 4km trails that also interconnect with others into the city. There are benches are garbages and blinds along the way to stop and admire the gate lakes sanctuary and over the bluff.. Concession and great outdoors Park for kids. They also have an outdoor classroom. They also have almost a museum type display you can walk through the staff are great. At this location you can also find cell phone and battery disposal and a penny drop off. Don't forget to sign into Kerry wood so that they can see where people are coming from and that the centre is being used..

I love visiting this place. My wife and young daughter love it as well. My wife's favorite part is the observation deck on the lake, my daughter loves the outdoor playground, and my favorite thing is Lucky the salamander, as he shares a name with me. I am also delighted that they offer astronomy programs! I visit whenever I am in the city!

Great hike!! Bring good foot wear!!

Nature center is free admission, interactive, child and stroller friendly. Really nice facility. The pathway around the Sanctuary has many stairs so is not the best for strollers, opt for carrier.

Mike Hyslop

I've been here in the summer and winter now, it's a great little nature retreat without leaving the city!

Sarah Heslop

It was awesome

Carla Thiessen

Very cool playground for the kids. It was all in the shade, so it was great on the hot day we went. There was a 1km paved trail (wheelchair and stroller accessible) and a 4km gravel trail that had hills and stairs. There's a gift shop and a small snack bar, as well as a little museum and art gallery. If you go, take a book with you to exchange for free.

Sean Bain

Lovely family walk, fully accessible. The wetlands area is great.

Sandra Hansen

A lovely place. We go there in winter for snow shoeing and all other season for hiking and bird wstching.

Matthew Kuehne

The trails are great... but I've got to be honest and give this place 3/5 stars. The interactive exhibits rarely work as intended... which is a HUGE bummer. You'd think this place would capitalize on being the only relevant nature center in Red Deer. An urban connection would be nice. July 7 update: Interactive exhibits are working! 5 stars!

Ken Heon

Wonderful place to go for a walk and a visit. Great books and gifts

Cherie Appleby

My favourite place in the city! We love taking walks and exploring the sanctuary. My daughter loved the preschool program and now can attend the schools out day camps. She always has a blast and is tired after from playing outside and learning so much.
