A&D has been incredible during the Covid pandemic. They have been excellent communicators and extremely supportive of their staff which is so important to ensuring continuity of care. They have also created fair, evidence based policies to ensure staff and kids are taken care of and are as safe as possible. As always they have been very responsive to any questions or concerns. I really appreciate them taking such good care of our kids in really difficult times. Thank you so much!

I was truly blessed to be welcomed as part of the staff here! The Director, Assistant Director and the rest of the staff care so much about the children and make an effort every single day to ensure they learn and grow as well as have fun! The food they serve the kids is always healthy. Paperwork is always filled out properly and any incidents are ran by parents. You can always count on the staff to tell you about how your child’s day went. Just an outstanding centre all around. I miss everyone and I can’t wait to pay a visit!

I would firstly have to give credit to my wife for setting up and choosing A & D Child Care. In our family I am the parent who does the drop off and pick up of our son and am fortunate to deal with the staff on a daily basis. At first I was overwhelmed with how much information was shared. The staff there always takes the time to tell me everyday how little mans day went whether good or bad, while having some of the basics posted daily to read. Such as; when they were changed, what they ate(how much), how they napped, etc. We both feel so blessed with not only the care our son is provided with but how much he learns. Being a parent can be exhausting and the team here always seem to do their best to keep all the kids busy with fun activities. Some days its a really nice feeling at the end of the day when our son seems to not want to leave! I personally highly recommend A&D and already have to our friends with newborns. Very professional, organized and truly care about the well being of our children. Hats off to you all as we look forward to continued child care.

We had our child in A&D Daycare from the nursery to kindergarten. The experience was exceptional. The staff were wonderful, caring and attentive; and the meals were great with healthy selections. The daycare has extra activities such as yoga and music class which helped to expose the children to different activities. The on-site preschool was wonderful with an amazing teacher. I highly recommend A&D.

Leaving my daughter after my maternity was really difficult for me (as I’m sure it is for many Mom’s and Dad’s out there), but making the choice of which childcare facility she would go to was easy. My nephew had gone to A&D for 4 years before my daughter attended and I heard nothing but rave reviews about the centre. We are a very close family, so I trusted my sister’s judgment and I saw first hand, the positive impact A&D had on my nephew’s growth and development. I knew I wanted the same care for my own child and our experience has been the exact same! The staff are amazing - kind, friendly, personable, patient and very knowledgeable and innovative. They’re always coming up with fun and educational activities to do with the kids. Nutrition, cleanliness and communication were all also very important to me when I was making my decision. I love that the facility has a cook on site who makes items from scratch, daily, for the kids and I’m never disappointed with the cleanliness of the centre. I also love that they have a communication board that is updated, daily, informing parents what activities were done that day, the menu, how much your child ate, slept and how often they were changed. The facility also has a ton of different extra activities available to the kids - yoga, music, and off-site field trips - all adding to the well-rounded experience I sought in a facility. I wanted to find a place where my daughter felt safe and comfortable, with staff I knew I could trust and overall, provide her with an amazing experience where she could have fun and enhance her learning through play. I knew A&D had provided those results for my nephew and I am happy to say our experience has been the same. I’d recommend this facility to other Mom’s or Dad’s who may be struggling with finding a centre they can trust to give them the results they desire. It was an easy decision for me.

We love that they plan fun and engaging activities for the children and that she is able to learn so much! The opportunities for her to learn music and yoga are great too! Quality of care is next to none. Provides stability and confidence for the kids. For 2.5 years, I've had the benefit of calling A & D Childcare my home away from home. Working there has been the best time of my life, and honestly doesn't even feel like work because it's such an amazing environment to spend the day in! Kristen and Gillian have been AMAZING to work for, and have provided so many opportunities for growth for their staff members, and are always available for help when needed. The group of ladies that work for A & D are second to none, and I am incredibly grateful to be a part of the team with them. I'm grateful as well for the families that I've connected with, and the children I've had the pleasure of teaching. I've had the opportunity to work in a few other centres before coming to A & D, and I can say without a doubt that A & D demonstrates professionalism, friendliness, and care towards all families that is not comparable to any other centre I've known! Very nice daycare and very pleasant staff. You will be impressed when you go in. However, if you have any issues with your child you will be dismissed from the daycare without notice which will leave you struggling to find care. Everyday for the first 3 weeks of being there I was told my son had an excellent day and he was very good. Once I was told they didn't even know he was there, he was so quiet. Three weeks into utilizing their care, I received a phone call to come and get him. They said they were having problems with him but this was the first time I had heard about it. They dismissed him from the center with 7 working days notice. When asked if they would work with me to sort out the problem, they said no. They did not provide an exit strategy, any assistance to help him and have forced me to take time off work to find childcare for him. I feel they should have a 30 day dismissal policy and offer help to parents who need it. It seems you need to have a golden child to be able to attend their facility.

During the COVID 19 outbreak they took all necessary measures to ensure everyone was safe. I absolutely feel confident in her care and safety as the doors reopen. Staff are thorough and patient. They've adapted to the pandemic and parents being unable to see what the little ones are up to by posting photos of their day. I have been working here for a few months now, and A & D is like no other! In every room around the centre, I always see so many smiles from the children, doing all sorts of activities/crafts and interacting with their peers. There is no lack of learning and growing! The staff at this daycare are wonderful and treat the kids like their own. My daughter is now 3 and asks on the weekends to go to daycare so that alone speaks volumes. This place is absolutely horrible!! Do not trust your child with Gillian Jobs. Workers are forced to lie on incident reports. Some of the staff tries to care but they are treated like animals and the kids are treated even worse. This daycare is a disgrace and deserves a negative rating. If anything happens trust your toddlers word over hers!!

My son has been at A& D since age 1 and our experience has been Amazing. As a first time parent it is hard to leave your child with someone you don't know well but they make the transition so easy for parents. My son is now 5 and still attends on his off days of Kindergarten and it's never a fight to go. They offer field trips and extra activities like yoga which my son always talks about his favourite is the magician. The food is cooked on site and my son always raves about it! Deena makes everything better than me apparently. My son also attended the preschool program at the Learning Tree. As a parent who works full time this service was so appreciated as I didn't have to worry about preschool transportation and taking time off work. The preschool is so well run and Mrs MacD is one of the most impressive teachers I have ever volunteered with. I cannot say enough about A & D and the care they have shown for my son the past 4 years.

A & D Childcare has for many years held a reputation that is second to none. The waiting list speaks for itself. I worked there for over 5 years and was very proud to do so! I can assure anyone that NEVER would an employee be encouraged to give false information on any report. The safety and well being of the children is a priority and ALL staff are required to hold their first aid certificate. The centre is accredited and to become and maintain this requires the centre to maintain a high standard of care and commitment. Gilllian has an open door policy and people are encouraged to call in at anytime, unlike a lot of other daycares!!! This is because there is nothing to hide and she is very proud of her centre!!!!

My son attended A & D 11 years. I cannot say enough good things about this centre. It's bitter sweet that he had to leave...although I was told he is welcome back any time. The staff is qualified, genuine and caring. They all supported my parenting beliefs and helped raise my son to be a kind, patient, well mannered, respectful and disciplined boy. My son has such excellent social skills...the centre helped round him to have friends of all ages. The environment at A & D is safe, very clean. They have structured schedules that have stimulating fun activities that encourage growth and development. Meals and snacks are healthy & plentiful. Not long after my son started at A D, he was upset when I'd come to pick him up! This certainly eased my mind and I never, ever had any worries or concerns while I was at work. The owners, Gillian & Edda & their Director Kristen, have a completely open door policy. Any concerns I had over the years were addressed and taken care of immediately. I cannot thank them & the staff enough for all the T.L C my son Tyler received his 11 years of attending. I highly recommend this Child Care Centre. You will not be disappointed. Just last week my son asked if he could go back to visit!!!

Our experience with A&D childcare has been nothing but amazing. Both children ages 3 and 1 attend the daycare and enjoy it. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and they all know both my children by name. We are always greeted with a warm welcome and smiles every morning at drop and every afternoon at pickup. Teachers keep us up to date on our children’s progress and how they did throughout the day without me ever having to ask which is great! I have full confidence and trust that my children are being well cared for and treated as if they were their own kids. My favorite part is the new Class Dojo app where I can get a sneak peak of my children’s day. They are constantly posting pics of my kids and what they have been up to which is so nice to be able to see. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for reliable trustworthy childcare.

I cannot say enough good things about A&D. I had to pull my daughter from a dayhome due to extreme safety precautions. I was left with no childcare and was contemplating quitting my job. I have to admit I was always hesitant about daycares because of the number of children but after our dayhome scare I knew I would never trust another one. I called A&D after interviewing numerous dayhomes with no luck, I told them what happened to my daughter, and they were so supportive about our situation, I set up a tour right away with them. I was quickly impressed with how clean and bright the facility was, the home cooked meals the children get daily, and the programming was amazing! The staff was also so welcoming. There was no doubt in my mind that this was the place for my daughter. I was still nervous head in back to work (because of what we went through) so the assistant director would send me pictures of my daughter throughout the day while I was at work, it made me feel soooo much better and I truly appreciate everything. My daughter has been there 4 months now and I have never felt more comfortable being at work as I do now. In a way I feel they honestly saved us. Highly recommended!

I have been working at A & D Child Care Centre and Out of School Care for almost 16 years. I have never worked at a place that is as amazing as this Child Care facility. The owner is like family and runs an amazing program. The atmosphere of the facility is by far the best I have ever worked in. As a staff member you are treated like a professional and you are recognized by the work you do. The children are always happy and engaged in activities that are based off of their interests. Our daughter has been attending A&D for the past 2 years, first in the preschool room, and now the kinder room. She loves it so much that she's excited to get there in the morning, and doesn't want to leave at the end of the day. We really appreciate the focus on frequent & healthy meals, lots of outside time, and the balance of free play and educational time. Most of all, we feel the best part of A&D is the staff, in particular one especially great educator named Jan. We toured 4 different daycares before picking A&D, and have never regretted the decision.

My son has attended A&D for the last year and a half and we couldn't be any happier with the care that he receives at this center. A few things that are amazing about this daycare: - The staff are lovely and treat my son like family. They support his interests, development and growth and expose him to new experiences he wouldn't otherwise be exposed to. - They arrange so many interesting and fun activities for the kids to do; the creativity is amazing and my son is thriving in this environment. - We receive a daily report from staff on what the kids did that day, what they ate, etc. The lines of communication are always open and they are very transparent with the goings on at the center. - We receive photos on the daycare's private app pretty much every day so we can see with our own eyes what our son is up to. I could go on and on about this daycare. Overall, my family loves A&D and I would recommend this daycare to any parent who is looking for childcare that goes above and beyond.

It has been such a great experience having my daughter attend A + D. As a first time mom I felt very anxious about leaving my little girl with anyone, but the staff here really helped with the transition for both of us and were extremely supportive. We have been so happy with the level of care, the consistency and clarity of communication between staff and parents and the overall atmosphere of the centre. When we drop our daughter off we know she is getting excellent care. Looking forward to having both of our daughters attend in the future. Hands down would recommend!

How do you put into words or how do you explain in a review that this is the best daycare in sherwood park. The staff, teachers and everyone becomes like family. My boys look forward to going everyday. They share stories of what they have done during the day and how much fun its been. They have a great chef who cooks everything in house and provides a great healthy variety through the week. My boys have been in every room. The teachers in each room go over and above everyday. Its clear that everyone who works there not only likes kids but loves them. Honestly its like a second home for my boys they have never complained about going. Instead they share their excitement for going back. My boys are constantly wanting the teachers to come.e home with them and come over to their birthday. The love the staff. What more could you ask for. It has not only my vote. But my kids vote too. Gillian, the owner has done a fabulous job. How can you tell? Look at how long the staff has been working there. Krysten the director has been there for over 15 years. Talking with her today her passion for kids shows. This has been a tough year for everyone with covid 19. A&D have done a spectacular job throughout the pandemic. I would with out a doubt 100% recommend them. If you are looking for a daycare. Stop looking. You found your place. Keep up the great work ladies. You run an amazing place. We are ever thankful that we have you to look after our boys while at work.

I wouldn't even give it one star- zero would be more accurate. After the first week of my daughter attending this daycare, I noticed she seemed upset on the drive home and was quiet for the rest of the night. When I asked her about it, she was hesitant to tell me what was wrong. Eventually, she confessed that she was being picked on by the other kids in her room. Even after I confronted staff about the conflict, nothing was done and I had to find a new daycare for my daughter. One day, when I picked her up early, I noticed staff seemed to be more focused on disciplining the children than positively interacting and encouraging them. While the supervisors seemed quite nice at first, as time went on, it was clear that they were only putting up a front and that there is some sort of underlying corruption. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone who is looking for proper care for their child in a safe and loving environment.

My experience as a staff member at A and D, for the past 3 years has been amazing! The staff at A and D are the picture of professionalism and kindness, while working hard everyday to make the centre a better environment for both the parents and children. To express in words how incredibly grateful I am for my wonderful co-workers and the parents at A and D is extremely difficult, but what I can say is that you will never meet a better group of people. When looking for a childcare centre everyone expects something different, what I can guarantee about A and D is that there is no place quite like it. The quality and knowledge of the staff, as well as the incredible director, Kristen, sets A and D apart from the rest. Our daughter has been at A & D since she was 4 and has loved it since the beginning. She attended the Learning Tree preschool and we were so happy and impressed with everything she learned; not only early literacy, but also socializing and listening skills. She is now is the OSC program and really enjoys the fun and creative activities they offer. All of the staff are amazing, kind, and treat the kids like their own. Also - Deena is a magician and can often get her to try foods she never would at home! Gillian, Kristen, and Anna have been wonderful leaders and always keep parents up to date. Through the COVID-19 pandemic, the site has handled all of the multiple challenges with grace; it is very apparent they're doing their very best to keep all of the kids and staff members as safe as possible, while updating us as often as they can.

I have mixed feelings about this daycare. The Good: The staff are super friendly and helpful, and from what I could tell interacted with my child alot. The food they provided was healthy. The Mixed: When I toured this daycare, I got the impression right away that my child was going to get kicked out, just by the things that were said, I needed care so we signed up . My child attended this dayhome for 4 months and got kicked out. It seems like at this daycare there is a specific type of child that does well, and any strong willed child doesn't. My child did well at first, then you could tell by how the workers were acting that they were getting run down by my child, and that's when my child got kicked out. I was pretty disappointed at first, but now that my child is older I understand that it wasn't a good fit.

I have had children in the infant, toddler and preschool rooms so we have first hand experience with almost all staff and every single one has been wonderful. Our daughter has been at A&D since she was 2 years old. When we were looking for care for her, we were undecided between a daytime or a day care. The Director and the Assistant were more than willing and able to answer our questions, allow us to walk throughout the Centre, and kept us informed with our daughters progress and concerns. After almost 8 years at the Centre, I can honestly say that each child is welcomed and cared for. Gillian and her staff have also welcomed our feedback when we have had concerns and suggestions. A great place to have your child learn & grow!

Where do I even start...it has taken me 5 yrs to find the courage to share my experience publicly...however, I know of others with similar experiences: First, it started out as though it was a huge inconvenience occasionally dropping off my child later than 9 a.m. It was mentioned that it messes up the daycare's schedule (I was specifically told in an assumptive tone that my child won't nap then; he has always been a great sleeper and took 2 naps a day until he was 3...bringing him at 9 had nothing to do with his sleep patterns). During my first trial day I barely left the daycare and made it all the way to the southside when I got a call to get my son as he had thrown up from being so upset. He was a very easygoing baby and this was out of character for him. A super independent baby, he never cried when I or my husband left the room, even in the care of others. Once I arrived to pick him up, he was in the same clothes & I was told he had vomited with his head facing backwards (why he was wearing the same clothes). Even as an adult it's impossible to vomit backwards as a reflex. Then I started getting calls to come pick him up for very minor things. Things that I felt they were trained to handle, for example consoling him b/c he was tired or letting him nap for same. I missed lots of work due to this. Then, there was an incident where he bit a kid (he had never bit before so I figured it was likely teething or because he couldn't express his emotions otherwise...and the staff didn't redirect him or show him a way to express his feelings other than by biting, the "reports" support this assumption). I felt badly & wanted to make sure the other child was okay, but aside from that, A&D made me feel like his behavior was abnormal & suggested he learned the behavior from home, literally blaming us. Then, almost daily thereafter I was signing 'incident' reports upon pickup describing biting ATTEMPTS...he never bit, he had tried to apparently, but the staff was able to intervene...which is their responsibility. (Take note, I had overheard other parents signing incident reports for biting or their child being bit & I didn't sign a report that day...therefore my son wasn't the biter). Needless to say, it grew to be a very stressful situation for me & my family where we considered switching daycares at that time but it seemed so daunting & I had faith things would get better. Then, one day I received a call from the director that he had severely bit another child & since the parent of said child was so upset & my son "had quite the file full of incidents" (there were 2 legitimate incidents)...he was 18 months old, showing age-approptiate behavior, care was terminated immediately. They did nothing to work with his behavior, behavior that is very normal for that age. A&D made me feel like my son was a monster. Thankfully the approach at our new daycare was so much better. He bit once there & then never again. I believe A&D was a stressful environment for him. He was a very active little boy & extremely curious & I think it's because of that they specifically targeted him & found a way to remove him from their centre, including the falsification of documents. He wasn't an "easy" child. And at one point, when I was called to come get my son for crying/being upset, I called my mom to get him because I couldn't take more time off work. When she arrived he was asleep on a bean bag chair. She suggested to let him sleep and she would come get him after he woke up. They told her she had to wake him & take him home immediately. Their ignorance of his needs & link to sleep & cognitive behavior was clear. He is 6 now & incredibly well behaved, intelligent & kind. A&D seemed only to care about schedules & benchmarks. Our new daycare redirects behavior & strong emotions for littles. My kids were encouraged to hug a pillow, take a moment to calm down by themself, wherever they chose (not timeout). And they never made me feel like I was a bad parent...which took a long time to overcome after our experience with A&D.

A&D is a wonderful daycare with fantastic teachers who are loving and supportive. From the initial tour, I could tell right away it was a great environment where children could both learn and have fun. My son has been going to A&D for over two years and I have seen him thrive both intellectually and socially under their care. As a parent, I also appreciate the early communication and collaboration regarding any minor concerns to prevent any major issues. It is immensely helpful to have such knowledgeable people in your corner as a parent. Additionally, the Class Dojo app is amazing and I love seeing updates about my little man during the day. I would (and have) recommend A&D to anyone looking for an awesome daycare for their little one.

My son has been attending a&d for about two years now and we are very happy with A & D. So much so that we wouldn’t send him anywheres else. He loves both his daycare room and preschool. They offer additional courses like yoga and music class. My son comes home full of stories and absolutely loves the workers. To say we are happy would be an understatement. Absolutely fantastic care!
