I have known Joan for many years. Initially I used her services to address some complicated window covering needs in my home. More recently, we completed an interior resurfacing of our living room and dining room including furniture selections. I have found Joan and the whole team at Curtain Call to be truly professional and this has been tested as much when things did not go quite as planned as much or more as when they did. Joan stands behind her product and her services. I am very happy with the new space within my home. I am planning a kitchen renovation hopefully in the next 24 months and will definitely be calling Joan!

Living through a renovation is an emotional experience. Working with someone who can take your ideas and tranform them into something you could never have dreamed possible is mind blowing. Having trades in your house for weeks on end can be disruptive. Joan and her team are extremely professional and a complete joy to work with. I have had the benefit of working with The Curtain Call as both a vendor and client. As a vendor, there is nothing more fulfilling than working with a designer or builder who fully understands the process. We build custom wine cellars and much more is involved than lovely woodwork. There is climate control, electrical, plumbing, insulation, vapor barrier...all to provide a perfect environment for aging wines. I advise Joan on what is needed and before I know it, its completed and ready for us to do a perfect install. Because of this, I became a client. We hired Joan and her team of designers and tradespeople to redesign and renovate our master bathroom, guest bathroom and powder room. Right from the initial consultation, Joan inspired our confidence in her experience, professionalism and creativity. She noted our style preferences in creating her designs, and was flexible about changes and finding areas for savings. We quickly came to trust and rely on her design sense and problem-solving abilities. Joan sources quality materials, especially custom cabinetry, and her tradespeople are very knowledgeable and reliable. In the end, she also updated our master bedroom, working with the existing furniture, repainting, and installing beautiful drapes, an area rug and a new ceiling fan. She replaced other light fixtures throughout the main floor and installed my husband's long-desired art lighting. The work was well scheduled and finished in a reasonable time frame, including minor touch ups and fixes. We are happy that the cost did not exceed her initial quote. She was always very calming, reassuring us that the job was not finished until we were totally happy. Which we are! Delighted! The results are beautiful!

We hired Joan and her team to do both a complete renovation of our master ensuite as well as help us choose new furniture and paint for our living room, dining room and family room. She took my very long wish list for the bathroom and created a beautiful and functional space. Joan was able to use some of our existing living room furniture and suggest custom pieces to complement the few items we had decided to keep. Once work got under way everything was coordinated and the whole process went very smoothly. We found Joan as she and team performed the neighbour's renovation. We needed a complete reno of a 40 year old bathroom. She came up with a plan, the renderings, respected our budget and we set out to do the work. The good part is we hate shopping, dont know where to start so she gives you 2 options, pick one. Looks fabulous and modern. Fast forward 1 year, time to update the house exterior. She outlined how stone, new paint colour, exterior lighting would bring the house into the 21st century. two choices, pick one. Whether you need her skilled labour staff or not you will get what you envisioned, on budget, looking great!

Our relationship with Curtain Call (Joan) started in 2002 when we purchased a home in South Surrey. We checked out a few Interior Designors & selected Joan due to her years of experience, expertise and also as her proposals met our needs. Our initial projects which covered draperies, kitchen reno, MB ensemble & painting were all completed to our satisfaction. In 2010 we downsized to a Townhouse & had no hesitation calling on Joan for decorating ideas prior to moving in Renovations included flooring, new Island in Kitchen as well as replacing of counter tops, backsplash and painting of entire Townhouse. In 2019 we again called on Joan for a major project which resulted in the total gutting and re-design of our MB ensuite. The various stages of this project were all completed within the time frame and budget originally established. We were totally satisfied & have received many compliments from Family & Friends who described it as a "SPA" . Shortly thereafter Curtain Call co-ordinated minor renovations to our 2nd Bedroom ensuite. Very recently Joan co-ordinated the design, production & installation of Draperies in all 3 Bedrooms. In all our projects Joan not only provided decorating/design ideas but provided full costing along with inspections & overall management. The trades people assigned to our projects were all very accommodating, knowledgeable and kept workplace clean. Work overall was done to our satisfaction and with Joan's close supervision any defects noted, at the time or later, were always quickly fixed. We have also had many interactions with Michelle, from Curtain Call, who, like Joan, goes "beyond her call of duty" to accommodate us.Overall we are very pleased with our experiences with Joan/Curtain Call & in fact have and continue to recommend Joan for any projects large or small.
