Still in the last stages of finishing my Diploma at Sydney Design School and right in the thick of it, but I already know for sure that SDS has been exactly the right thing for me. My learning experience has been steep, exciting and very much supported by experienced & fun teachers from all different areas in the industry. Everyone at SDS is simply helpful & super approachable. Perhaps this great attitude comes right from the core of the school. SDS’ principal, Amanda Grace, always has an open ear and genuinely values the students’ feedback, but most importantly acts on it! I also think it’s worth mentioning that the school has an excellent Career Advisor for the students & a successful Graduate Connect Service. A big load off for someone like me who will soon be venturing out there.

I'm currently studying at SDS and loving it. All my teachers are still in the industry, which was a big drawcard for me choosing this school. I am in the succeed course, which is a fast tracked so assignments are quick and theory is short. The best part about the school is the constant flow of suppliers coming in to talk about the industry and excursions to their warehouses. For me this School is ten times better than a university structure as we do our work on campus with the help of experienced designers to create a beautiful portfolio of work.

I’m currently studying at this college and have enjoyed every second of it. The teachers are friendly, supportive, and are always available to address any questions or offer help when asked for. All the teachers are active within the design industry in different areas, and because of this I’m constantly learning and discussing new and inspiring forms of design. As well as the teachers I have found a support network with my fellow peers who I have developed amazing friendships with. We are privileged with almost weekly talks from a variety of suppliers, which I find to be incredibly beneficial for expanding my design knowledge. Having studied at University in the past, I can say that the structure of this college is a lot more hands on and personal; meaning I get one-on-one feedback and support from all teachers, and the fact that the classes are smaller and more intimate help with communication. I highly recommend this college to anyone thinking of starting their design career

I have recently graduated from Sydney Design School, and could not have asked for a better experience, The teachers are all amazing, and are still working in the interior design industry, which is fabulous as you get all the insider tip's and knowledge about current trends and suppliers. The course is hands on and very personal, each student gets amazing support and feedback from teachers. Also there is an excellent careers advisor that will point you in the right direction towards your goals and help you build the start of your interior design career. Sydney Design School has a real sense of community and I have made some life long friends. I highly recommend SDS to anyone wanting to get the best insight into the interior design industry.

I had the pleasure to be part of the team of teachers at Sydney Design School from 2011 until last month, teaching retail and hospitality design for Diploma Students. I have a huge respect and admiration for Amanda Grace, the school director, for her concern and effort into keeping the school standards extremely high and for personally caring for the students. Being a boutique school with small groups, there is a great family feel all around the campus, everyone knows each other and the atmosphere is just contagious. Like I said many times to my students, I wish I had studied at a school like this! I graduated overseas and did a Masters in Design in the top Sydney University in this area and I still feel like they do not compare at all with the solid learning structure of Sydney Design School. I’m very sad to leave my amazing and experienced colleagues and my brilliant students, but unfortunately my other professional commitments currently do not allow me to design and teach at the same time. But I’ll always have Sydney Design School as the most pleasant environment I have ever worked (and Amanda as the most lovely boss!). Good luck to all my former students in their carrier and you can count on men beyond school.

I did the Diploma in Decoration and Design at Sydney Design School and found the entire experience brilliant. The course and the teachers were incredibly inspiring and always on hand to help. After I finished the course, I kept in touch with both staff and students, who continued to encourage me. As a result, I've completed a restaurant fitout and many other projects in the past few years. I highly recommend Sydney Design School.

I had the pleasure of meeting Amanda of Sydney Design School when the school had just began and chose to study at the College, that was 5 years ago and I could not speak highly enough of the professionalism of the educators and staff. Thanks to SDS I have had many opportunities and pathways open within the design community, the school helped me path the way into building a career within Design. If you are considering studying design this hopefully this is the school for you too!

I studied the Interior Design Diploma at Sydney Design School and loved it. I am now a practicing designer and employ on a daily basis not only the basic skills that are part of the Diploma curriculum but many skills outside of this that our teachers (most of whom currently practice Interior Design) shared with us -from dealing with clients and councils to tricky situations that are part of real life practice. I would happily recommend this school to anyone looking for a career in Interior Design.

After researching all the available Interior Design courses each college was offering I decided on Sydney Design School (SDS) to do my Certificate IV in Interior Design following up with Auto CAD and Google Sketchup course. The Certificate IV course at SDS I found to be far more hands on, comprehensive and better developed in detail when compared with the others on offer. After contacting SDS I found them to be very helpful and knew I had made the right decision. The staff at SDS are knowledgeable, professional and encouraging, most are currently working in their chosen field whether it be colour consulting, interiors, commercial or domestic. I found them all extremely experienced, pleasant and up to date with the latest trends. When I was not sure about continuing with AutoCAD and Sketchup because I felt it was beyond my capabilities the teacher and the college Principal continued to support me until I was proficient with the program. I completed the course, passed and am very grateful for their encouragement. The atmosphere and the other students at the college I found to be friendly, nurturing and convivial. I would highly recommend SDS to anyone considering any of the courses offered by the college.
