They utilized all of our existing furniture while incorporating beautiful new pieces and creating an inviting space that we love spending time in. They completed the project ahead of schedule and within our budget. It was a complete transformation and we would recommend them to anyone!

The team at Citizen saved me so much time and a ton of stress! They provided us a great floor plan to finish our basement that met our needs. When it came to picking flooring, paint, trim, fireplace....I was overwhelmed!!! After an hour meeting with Citizen, I walked out with samples of what I needed. The colors are great and best of all it saved us hours of debating what to do. Highly recommend.

Is it weird that I’m kinda sad it’s over? ???? probably. But we had the best experience. In the summer we turned to Carli and Mike to help us create a more functional kitchen space for our casual entertaining and excessive amount of cooking and baking. It turned out even better that I could even picture and I love it all! We wanted to turn to experts to make sure we knew our options, could turn this into something that better fits our lifestyle, still fits in with the rest of the house and we didn’t want to be in construction mode for months! It took me a while to really know what I wanted to be able to make decisions especially when I didn’t even realize I had a preference for something. I am so thankful for Carli and Estey’s patience. Like I was seriously indecisive and often would push to know what they would do. But they were so helpful when I was scared to make a choice, giving me enough to feel like I owned this but in a way that made everything fit together so perfectly. Then when it came to demo and construction Mike managed all the subcontractors perfectly so that we were only without a useable sink/stove for about a week! His tradespeople we’re fantastic and paid so good attention to detail. We got rid of our kitchen table and created a massive eat up island. The quality of their craftsmanship was impeccable, esp that island seam!! Seems crazy to have no table but I do NOT miss it one bit and I LOVE my kitchen. Thank you!

We’d been chipping away at renos in our home over the last 10 years and learned a few things along the way: it would take us at least twice as long as we expected to do anything (which is time we’d have to take off work), we’d never know who to contact when we needed to hire a tradesperson, and we didn’t know enough about home renovations to effectively map out a larger vision for our home. Enter Citizen Design Co.! I contacted Carli for a consult to see what would be possible for our kitchen (if we knock this wall down will we still have enough space for a functioning kitchen?) and ended up hiring her team to do a full-scale design for the living space on both levels of our home as well as hiring Citizen Developments to do the full renovation. We’re so glad we had them manage all aspects of the project – we had full trust in them and their tradespeople and had a consistent flow of communication between design and construction. I wouldn’t say that living in an extensive renovation is enjoyable (spoiler alert: it’s totally not :), but I never imagined it would go as seamlessly as it did. We love our new space and are so happy we went with Citizen. I really can’t say enough great things about our experience with them!

Hiring Carli was one of the best decisions we made during our build. She was so easy to talk to and really listened to our vision. She has a great understanding of what is trendy and what is classic, and really helped us balance the two out. When we had last minute decisions that had to be made, she always found a way to fit us into her schedule. We always felt like her top priority. My indecisiveness resulted in asking the same question more than once, but Carli was so patient and in the end I always felt confident in the decisions we made. We will continue using Citizen Design Co. to help us style and decorate our new home and highly recommend Carli and her team to others.

Not only was Carli exceptionally friendly and easy to work with, her incredible eye and talent for understanding what her clients want and need is unparalleled. From the minute we met, Carli seemed to innately understand how we needed the space to function, and totally nailed the aesthetic we were after. The materials she sourced were gorgeous, and exactly what I envisioned but could not articulate. The timelines for construction were followed closely, and every stage of the process ran smoothly and without stress. Perhaps most important was the extreme attention to detail that was given to every step of our renovation. Every trade was skilled, professional, and conscientious. Mike's project management was exceptional, and in the end resulted in a gorgeous powder room that we absolutely LOVE!
