It's at times like these that we are reminded of how grateful we are for the work Andrea and her team have done in our home. My husband and I could never agree on exactly what we wanted. We knew our home needed work but every time the discussion began we stalled out, favouring harmony over renovation/decoration discord. We can attest to that fact that Andrea really listens. She navigated our discussions to ensure that we were both heard. Her final design for us brought two seemingly opposing ideas into one beautiful home, on time and on budget. We highly recommend!!!

"What is it about decorating, that you find so stressful" , asked Andrea, the first time my husband and I met with her. "Well, I think I have good taste, but I can't pull it all together, and decorators I have worked with before, did not get it quite right. I then focus on the what's not right and we've spent the money, so we can't fix it, and we need to live with it." Andrea, really listens and she gets to understand who your are and what's important to you. She treats the budget you have, as if it was her own money. She puts a plan in place, so you know what the end goal is, and then you work toward it. We did a entire renovation of our 1,200 square foot condo, and every time we walk through the door, we feel so blessed to be home. Andrea has also helped us with a number of projects at our cottage, with equally stunning results. Andrea Hylton really does not have a style , she understands you and creates for you an exquisite home, where you really feel at home. Another thing I admire about her, is she keeps her word and stands behind her work. She really is a one-of-a-kind designer and project manager who we feel so blessed to have worked with.

Andrea Hylton did an absolutely amazing job in creating a breathtaking yet functional and family-friendly new home for me. In July 2020, I was sitting alone in my Toronto apartment, wishing I lived closer to my grandchildren. The thought of moving seemed overwhelming but I signed for a new place. I had only seen the apartment on paper and the room layouts were very different and quite modern and I did not want to move my big heavy dark furniture which had seen better days. Then I panicked - how in the middle of this pandemic was I going to furnish a new place? And my “wish” list was very challenging. I wanted an open, airy, spa-like apartment in blues and greens that was beautiful and high-end and yet welcoming to two little grandchildren under the age of five and which would be budget-friendly. And I still wanted to keep several of my bulky dark items. Quite a tall order and some might say - “impossible”. What to do? Well, I started searching Google for interior designers and found a couple fairly close to my new apartment building. I phoned each and left messages. Andrea was the first to call me back. The next couple of weeks were filled with phone calls and zoom calls where Andrea patiently got to know all my eccentricities and what I wanted better than I knew myself. She was gentle and kind in her approach and we whittled down what I should keep and probably part with. But I am a person who is challenged by decision, and I changed my mind quite a few times. Andrea was so unbelievably patient. She never cuts corners and yet her work is efficient and stunning and top quality. Andrea also has an incredible team of specialists: Mike and his team of movers were so careful; Greg is a top-notch carpenter; Maylen and Mahadi are the most thoughtful and patient assistants; and, Andrea’s daughter Taylor is so very talented - just like her Mom. Andrea’s sense of colour is out-of-this-world fantastic!! She created gallery walls and highlighted a century old bookcase in such a way that it fits a lovely soft blue and turquoise elegant space. Her choice and use of lighting, drapes, carpets, plants, cushions and throws tie everything together. The first thing I saw at the “big reveal” was an enlarged photo of me and my grandchildren with two little hooks underneath and a note saying “welcome to Grandma’s”! And in the guest bathroom, Andrea had arranged little bath toys for the children and a stool, but also elegant fixtures. I truly had goose bumps!! She thinks of everything! The laundry, the pantry and den cupboards were refitted with shelves to ensure maximum use of space and the functionality is incredible and the workmanship is perfection! Solid and strong but aesthetically designed and laid out. The kitchen looks like a magazine with a mixture of my things and new things all thoughtfully placed. And then the dining-room and the living-room. I was shaking inside when I opened my eyes and saw how truly stunning it is. I could never in a million years have imagined a space so beautiful. And my family love it. The two little ones were so excited about their own hooks for their coats at the front door and they went wild with joy about the den! There was a toy box with a stuffed rabbit and dinosaur and books carefully chosen for their ages. And again Andrea added extra magic touches everywhere from the cushions to the lamps to incorporating my art. I wish I could better express how truly wonderful Andrea is and what a truly spectacular home she has given me. My first morning in the apartment, I went straight to the management office and told them about Andrea so that they could refer her to others who needed a designer. She is by far the best both in interior design talent but also in customer service. She knew I was frightened of the pandemic and she and her team went the extra mile to ensure every step was taken to ensure safety. She is truly an extraordinarily fantastic designer and human being and I would highly recommend her to everyone.

We had the good fortune to find Andrea Hylton Home on the web, after perusing some of the photo galleries on the webpage and reading the online reviews, we contacted Andrea. We could not be happier with the choice we made. From our first meeting until the unveiling of our home, we were consistently impressed by Andrea and her team. We cannot say enough positive things about our entire experience. Critically, Andrea listens carefully to her clients. During the early phases of the design process, she worked hard to understand our sense of style. She was receptive to receiving photos from magazines that helped us to share with her the look and feel we were aiming for in our new home. After that initial information gathering process, Andrea went away to come up with a design plan. We met to discuss the plan, which included images of the key components (furniture, carpets, art, etc.), along with a floor plan of our space that showed where everything would go and how it would fit together. At this early stage, Andrea wanted to ensure that the plan matched our sense of style and expectations for our new home. She was receptive to making adjustments; it was all about meeting our needs and making us happy. After we signed off on the design plan, Andrea provided us with a detailed line by line budget, costing everything out, with our budget at the forefront. There were no hidden fees or surprises. After that, Andrea and her team set about executing the plan. They acquired everything necessary to bring the project to fruition and took care of all the logistics. There were inevitable bumps in the road, such as the discontinuance of a piece of furniture we selected. With each, she kept us in the loop and offered us alternatives mindful throughout of our budget. Finally, once we took possession of our new home, Andrea took care of the rest. Within a week, she and her team had transformed our new place into our dream home. She kept us at bay that week; the big reveal is important to Andrea. If you watch HGTV shows and are somewhat envious of those who get to experience the reveal, then Andrea provides you with that same experience without the need to be on television! Words cannot express how thrilled we both were with the result. We adore absolutely everything Andrea did. Every selection of furniture, carpet, art, and every last decorative item. The fabrics and colours. The thoughtful placement of everything. And, as problems emerged, the slight modifications Andrea had to make on the fly. Everything was perfect. Andrea is an exceptionally talented decorator. We don't make a habit of writing online reviews. We are very private people. But given our experience working with Andrea, we felt compelled to share and let anyone who is thinking about hiring a decorator know that they SHOULD MOST DEFINITELY hire Andrea and her team. Andrea is a consummate professional. Her only goal is to make you, her client, happy. To understand your needs and style and to create the home of your dreams. And, to do all of that, mindful throughout of your budget. As another reviewer mentioned, Andrea treats your money like her money. Having now been through the entire process and finding our dream home on the other side, we could not possibly be happier with the process or the final result. In short, we love Andrea Hylton. If you choose to go with her as your decorator, we are confident that you will love her too!
