From beginning to when the job completed she was knowledgeable and professional, she really listened to our clients' needs. Barb's design and spacial planning to utilize the area really made the space come to life. When it came to her ideas and recommendations we love the concepts she brought to the (restaurant) table. Once Barbara came into the picture, all that changed! She used her insight, experience and creativity to develop a decor plan that worked for our taste and budget. It takes a lot of program management skill, great taste and talent to combine project scope, budget admin, sourcing and beautiful design within limited space - and all within a practical reno approach. What is also exceptional, is that my custom sustainable cabinets are unique. I feel good that going green can be both functional, chic and easy on easy the pocket.

We’ve mobility issues. Barbara took charge of project from soup to nuts... Major scopes are to ensure condo is fully accessible to include a roll in shower, and removal of all floor transitions where they may exist. Further, the scopes included converting a 3 bedroom with den suite, into a more open concept 2 bedroom with the kitchen now open to a great room ( den + converted bedroom). Great job, will not hesitate to work with Barbara again!

“Recently I moved into a condo unit which needed a facelift, including a complete kitchen renovation. Barbara prepared a design plan and budget, and managed all the work which included new floors, lighting, furnishings and closet interiors throughout the apartment, and new cabinetry, lighting and flooring in the kitchen. For many weeks, I was afflicted with neck, shoulder and back pain; until, I had a design ergonomic consultation with Barbara from Nikka Design. Barbara summarized it like this: - "If you sit behind a desk for hours at a time, you're not doomed to a career of neck and back pain or sore wrists and fingers. Proper office ergonomics — including correct chair height, adequate equipment spacing and good desk posture — can help you and your joints stay comfortable". Barbara impressed me with her professionalism, knowledge and ability in conducting my home office ergonomic assessment. I understood her explanations and appreciated being reconfigured at my workstation. Her recommendations were clear and easy to understand so I can maintain a comfortable work area and implement the recommended set up measurements.
