I bought 5 masks from this company, in April. They weren't used right away, as I was finishing a box of disposable masks first. When I first received the Lavigne's Canvas masks, they looked to be good quality and I stored them until the 2nd week of May. I always wear a mask when going to a public place, and bought a few to rotate when they need to be washed after using.
In May, I wore each mask a total of 2 times and I wasn't rough with them. Washed them in a hot soapy bucket of water, rinsed them under running water and hung them to dry. Unfortunately, 3/5 masks had the bendable nose metal strip break (inside the stitching), rendering them useless.
I contacted the company via email, explained the scenario and was told that they were sold "without any credits, refunds or exchanges beyond shipping mishaps that can be verified." and, "We are constantly evolving our products, and just so you’re aware, we have developed a softer wire to withstand more heavy use than the previous version."
To me, that indicates that it was probably a common issue, and the original nose wire was probably defective, or inadequate. I replied to the "I'm sorry" and dismissive email... and then was provided with an analogy of upgrading a computer. How even if I needed to return a Microsoft computer, "Bill Gates would laugh and laugh…..but even after only a week he would make me buy a whole new system." The employee was talking about computers and their email capability... I'll spare you the rest.
This was a completely unrelated type of analogy, that's comparing complex computer components, to my simple PPE face masks, that were 7.95 each. For masks that were worn twice, I consider this quality to be inadequate and unacceptable. I also own a business, and consider Lavigne's Canvas Company's customer service to be insufficient, as well. In my company, if I sell a product that's a couple of weeks out of warranty, or has none at all... I'll still always strive to exceed expectations to make a customer happy. Also, if the purchase price was $25, that cost the company considerably less....most good companies wouldn't even think twice about replacing them! Obviously, this action would create a satisfied and happy customer.
I'm happy to read, that many people had a good experience with this company... but, I did not.
The company's final statement to me was, "So again, I’m sorry you aren’t happy, but our policy is very clear." Not a single bit of resolution was offered...ZERO. I was essentially, dismissed.
In conclusion, Lavigne's Canvas Company sells POOR Quality Masks and provides POOR Customer Service.
