Kwantlen university is unethical, money driven organisation. I made the simplest mistake of adding a class thinking it is for the winter semester, dropped the very next day when I realised it is a class that has already started a month prior. Guess what, they are charging me full tuition, sent them emails that explains the situation, but they are tone deaf, they only care about money. I even explained to them that their decision to charge me $700+ will ruin my chances of going back to uni for the winter semester and that I am saving up every penny working as a housekeeper to be able to improve my life, this is their answer “Unfortunately, we cannot refund tuition fees to you, as course withdrawal does not refund tuition fees, according to our published Dates and Deadlines.” I am so disappointed at kwantlen, I will never have registered with them if I knew they only cared about money especially in this confusing time of the pandemic. I don’t recommend it to anybody

Smaller classes sizes and a variety of courses makes Kwantlen an excellent option. I gave it three stars for a couple of reasons. It is mainly a commuter school. Even at the "Main" campus it doesn't feel much like a university. The school is growing and changing but it just doesn't have that culture of a larger university. Having the variety of campuses is nice but can also be a pain when a course is only offer at one campus. The second issue I found at Kwantlen is there are a lot of kids that don't want to be there. They are attending because it was easy to get into and their parents want them to attend university.

Used to be a decent institute up until they decided to flood the entire campus with international students. Majority of these 'students' don't study at all and use the campus as their 'chill out' spot. I mean even the school itself knew it was a problem when they stopped accepting international students entirely for a semester or two. Not only do these so called students ruin the atmosphere on campus, they also have a negative impact on domestic students in terms of group projects and assignments etc. Cause many of them can barely understand or speak English and have no interest in wanting to learn it. It got to a point where I just had to transfer out and its unfortunate cause it was a great campus up until now.

While there are pros and cons to Kwantlen, location is certainly the biggest pro here. Classes vary from being insightful and rewarding to being useless and dull, and I would highly recommend checking professors' reviews on Rate My Professors prior to taking their courses, especially lab instructors, as the lowly rated ones tend to be confusing and completely unreasonable and unpredictable with unusual and often nonsensical grading criteria and zero patience. I once asked Len how I can improve my future lab scores in his first-year Physics course, and he told me I must be choosing to do things wrong if I'm getting low grades, saying I need to work on my attitude when really he's got a cryptic and secretive grading criteria which he only reveals after the third lab in the semester. There's also an old chemistry lab assistant who is miserable and wanders between both rooms all day yelling at students and avoiding helping anyone in favor of berating those less miserable than herself. Biology labs tend to be more welcoming and the instructors more outgoing, but the workload tends to be excessive, requiring lots of work outside of scheduled lab periods to experiment. Most labs here are a nightmare. I've however had very good experiences with online courses in general, and the arts instructors have been very knowledgeable, polite, and constructive. The library has a superb staff and a great selection of resources and free tutors, and there's also therapists available as well. I wouldn't recommend buying food or supplies here as the markup is insane.

I Don’t Highly Recommend The Access Program With Disability’s I use to got that program & before COVID hit the teachers who work there don’t tell their students what’s going on bye Email & Phone Call & they totally ran away who everyone in my class money in the beginning I was at a Work Experience At Cora they treated very poorly as a DishWasher & I had a Fight With Wearing No Slip Shoes & the people who work there I was there for 4 weeks in March & I was followed bye the people who work there & that’s it had enough & sew my class was cancelled in April

Terrible experience with the registrar. No personable contact, they treat you as a mere student number. They stole my money directly from student loan services. Don't waste your time here. Schools like JIBC, Douglas College and SFU are far better in every way and treat you with respect.

Many of the 3rd & 4th year courses use the same textbooks as MBA courses at other universities, and nearly every class requires you to work with real businesses to solve real-world problems. There is so much offered at KPU, not just great classes but all the different clubs and free facilities and events. A lot of the teachers are awesome and the classes are small so you get to know everyone pretty well.

Great course selection, generally great profs. small class sizes for good access to profs to enhance learning environment and great networking opportunities. Also, Kwantlen offers the only undergraduate Policy Studies program in Canada! Planning on pursuing a policy studies Masters at SFU? Kwantlen is the place to start!

Registration puts students on a wild goose chase. Eg. Instructed to speak with Program Coordinator. Program Coordinator instructs student to contact registration. Academic advisors give poor advice leading to complications. Students are waitlisted despite it being a required course for their program. Therefore, they need to try to take the required courses at another academic institution. However, they need to seek permission even after ensuring it's transferable. Basically, students are left stranded to fend for themselves. It's honestly ridiculous, students are treated like garbage. I strongly suggest students to invest in their future someplace else if they care about their academic future and peace of mind.

The admissions process is very easy. However, I would never recommend this University to anyone that actually wants to pursue a degree or graduate in a timely manner. The only thing good about this university is the Sport and Rec. Other than that, it is terrible. This is my second year, I’ve been waitlisted for the Human Anatomy 1200 course 4 semesters in a row. No grades do not matter. All of the classes are continuously waitlisted making it an extra two years to get into a Nursing Bachelor program. I was told to take the Health Unit Coordinator course to reserve my seat in the courses as it states on the website, and I have not had ONE class reserved at all. It is ridiculous. I would recommend anyone to go to BCIT, Douglas or VCC before looking at this University. It takes so much time and all of the student support service people seem unbothered and they all have an attitude. Out of the Certificate and 20 additional credits I’ve taken, the only one worth while is Constanza’s LANC class. Unless you struggle academically, do not waste your time.

THE MOST MONEY ORIENTED UNI EVER! All they care about is money. Every time I try paying by interac online, it will not allow me to. I went to the bank yesterday to pay for my tuition and I saw so many kpu students there saying that their tuition payment by interac online/debit card is not being processed. It is very obvious that that Kpu wants us to pay by credit card because of that extra 2.25% fee. For domestic students, that might be an extra $30-40 but for international students, thats an extra $200 just to pay by credit card. You will realize how the transaction of paying by credit card will be so smooth compared to by paying by debit. THE SCHOOL CAN START IN-PERSON CLASSES BUT THEY ARE NOT READY TO TAKE IN-PERSON TUITION PAYMENT??

No practical knowledge if you are looking to apply think about your decision again. Update- you will never get courses that you need

I studied here for a year and a half, over a decade ago, and I loved it! I was just in the wrong program(the Job Prep program within the APPD(Access Program for People with Disabilities)! That program sucks! The main cafeteria is OK; and the bookstore is amazing! Love all the KPU apparel! Overall, the Professors, and the students, are really nice and understanding! Great services for students(including those put on by the student association(KSA)! I'm planning to attend this place, again in the near future! I love this school! So proud to be an Eagle!

Terrible experience so far. I am SFU alumni and may be wrong to compare KPU to SFU! Nowhere close to it. They are not available on phone or in person, online they have KPQueue which sucks too. I am amazed as this is not the busy time of the semester and still no one is available to talk. Imagine when it is in its busy period say beginning of fall semester. No registration dates announcement or course information available to assist students to plan their semester. I would recommend this place to anyone, don't want to call it a university/institute as it has no feature/service to get this title.

I am currently attempting to register for a continuing education course. I have paid in full, and have received my online profile. For the last week leading up to the beginning of my course, I have been attempting to contact student service for assistance. As my online profile was instructing me to do so. I have no holds which prevent me from registering except the inability for the course to render on my profile. It is now two days into my course and I have received no call back as an automated system informed me would happen. As I write this I have been on hold for a total of 45 minutes waiting for an answer. As an Ontario resident, I have an opportunity presenting itself in the form of full time employment in my career of choice dependent on completion of this course. I feel stranded as no one has reached out to help me. Please save your time and money and look elsewhere for a secondary education.

The help they give to disabled students is a joke. Some technicians were operating heavy machinery when i was taking a test in the same building, they gave me half the time of what i was supposed to get, but what really takes away the cake is, today they gave me the wrong physics test. All of this, happened over the course of ten months. A few of the instructors also have quite an attitude. This place is okay to use as a runway before you takeoff to your career, but not the place for you primary education.
