I have purchased from this place and, to sum it up some people drive Chevys and some choose to drive something more exclusive like Audis, you decide where you want to shop. If you want unique then there are very few places in this city and Bella Moda is one of them. If you want average and our on a budget then Bella mods is not the place for you, go to the Brick or Ashley furniture them.Two thumbs up for Bella Moda....

My husband and I walked through the entire store. We were looking for bedroom furniture, and not a single sales associate asked us if we needed help or had any questions. They were not busy at all but acted as though they didn’t care to talk to us. We will not be going back. (However the actual products did look very nice.)

My wife and myself were shopping for high end furniture to replace our old furniture after home renovations. We've been through several known reputable places here in Winnipeg and we are also shopping based on other peoples' experience. We ended up in St. James area and by shear luck we drove by Bella Moda. Even though we haven't heard anything about these people and business it was a natural reaction to pull over and check out the store. We walked into the store and browsed around for 10 minutes. We were not greeted by anyone and no one asked us if we needed any assistance despite the fact that there were several employees in the store. All they cared about was to assess what I was wearing and on this alone they based their opinion if we are customers or simply browsers. It seems looking white collar is all these people care about. And yes I was wearing my sweatpants due to the fact that I am on long term disability. First impression of the place and items gave us the impression that there was quality and uniqueness in the products. One dining set caught our eye. It was on sale from $9000 to $6000. We had to go to them saying we wanted to purchase the furniture and only than were we provided with service. Our first question was whether or not there was anything wrong with the furniture due to the mark down. We were assured three times there was not. We purchased the dining set and a china cabinet which was also marked down due to a crack that we were told about. We took possession of the furniture and had company over a couple of weeks later celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We were praised by our guests about the appearance and uniqueness of the dining set. As they walked around they noticed there was a problem with one of the pieces. It turns out that all four legs are not finished and were not stained like the rest of the furniture and had black paint that dripped and dried from the manufacturing process. It than became clear on top of the embarrassment that there was a reason for the markdown. We had our company over on Saturday and I immediately called Bella Moda on Sunday asking directly for the owner. I was promised that they will get back to me immediately on Monday. It was around 11:00 am when I received the call from Bella owner and I explained how embarrassed and awkward we felt about Saturday's dinner but I didn't want to tell over the phone what is wrong with the furniture. I insisted that the sales person who promised us that there were no defects would come over to our place and inspect the furniture for themselves. Instead of asking for money back I asked for an apology to my wife who was the most offended. Instead of fulfilling our request she turned defensive. She offered a technician to come to my place and that was all she was willing to do. She told me if we didn't see the furniture defective from the beginning why would they notice something while it was sitting in their store. I tried to explain the principle of running a business and dealing with customers. I asked what happened to appreciation for customers and that the customer is always right. I also asked whether it's too much to have someone come over from sales and apologize for the lie about nothing being wrong before the purchase. I knew this discussion is not getting me anywhere and I ended it. Next day again I received another call talking to another owner and again he was not willing to fulfill my request. To this day I have not heard back from them in terms of a resolution to this problem. I find it appalling how you walk into a so-called high end store and because of judgement on people that walk-in, they provide such an arrogant service and on top of everything once you make a $7000 purchase they cannot professionally deal with the customer's concern. These are merchants who cry when people go down to the States for high quality items to save money but also for a positive customer experience. I am one of them and this experience is not unique. I will continue to support the economy and merchants south of the boarder.

As part of the renovations to our home we needed to buy some new furniture which can be quite difficult and time consuming. Bella Moda made it a comfortable and fun experience. Their staff are very knowledgeable and caring, not just interested in making a sale but wanting to develop a long term relationship.
