Fantastic for the whole family. Our first time our son was 9 years old & started the day off with a private snowboard lesson. That was a good decision as he was able to have the confidence to tackle the mountain. Loved the gondola ride. Staff are friendly and helpful. Also loved the tube hill at the end of the day when you needed just a bit more time resting your legs and enjoying the hill for a few more thrilling moments. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent conditions! Only way it could have been better was blue sky, but I will take fog and overcast for fresh powder!!
The skiing is terrific. We love the commitment of the service staff at Lake Louise Ski resort. The beauty of this resort is bigger than life. The Canadian Rockies are so beautiful and so big!
Great place to ski but be prepared to stop a lot for photo ops - its a beautiful place to spend a day. The mountains, and the lake/chateau in the distance below, make for a lot of reaching for your phone to take pics. Beyond the long runs, back bowl gullies & views, there are a lot of great food choices in the main lodge and on the hill. Only gripe was the gift shop's lack of Lake Louise apparel : a couple Tshirts and 2 sweatshirts makes for a surprisingly tiny selection of clothes to show some LL love.
Amazing ski resort with tons of variety of terrain (beginner to hardcore). Every Ski Louise Resort worker I’ve interacted with has been 100% friendly and helpful. I love this place.
Great views of Banff and Lake Louise. Food and drinks at the cafe are amazing and reasonably priced. Gondola up is a great trip. Would recommend
Busy ski resort although the lift wait was never more than couple minutes - visited on New Year's Eve. Great food options and amenities! Very friendly staff everywhere!
Came here during the summer for the gondola ride. Cabin is very big and very nice, and the views are even better.
Great place. Excellent terrain
Spectacular views and volume of runs and mountains to ski through. Kyle is an amazing teach ask for him!
The greatest ski resort!!! Food is super excellent, lodges are super excellent. You won't be disappointed.
Ice fall … so beautiful !
Awesome mountain, varied terrain for all skill levels, great glades and bowls. Flat light will be your only issue on semi cloudy days, definitely need yellow lenses for those days.
One of my favourite places to ski. The views are fantastic
I loved the open gondola ride. It was oddly relaxing gliding above alpine trees, considering I always thought I was afraid of heights. Perhaps it was the amazing views , the cool, motionless air and the anticipation of a great photo opportunity once we reach the top that offset my fear.
Take a ride on the Lake Louise Gondola and see some of the most spectacular mountain scenery and wildlife in the Canadian Rockies. Best place to see black and grizzly bears in the wild. Stunning views and breathtaking nature. Gondola runs from 8 am to 5 pm and the ride takes 15 mins.
Great ride on the gondola- Staff were very helpful with my 88 year old grandma, making sure she had enough time to get on the chairlift. We even saw a grizzly bear
Great place to ski, beautiful views. Still early skiing (Nov), can't wait to go back once there's more snow.
Always busy on the weekends. Snow is good majority of the time. Lots of ice last time I went.
Had a great time at Lake Louise, would love to come back someday.
This place qas beautiful and super friendly
Great hill and Amazing staff......We have 3 Kids that are all beginners ( ski and Snowboard) and the Instructors where amazing!! Kids had a blast, learned a ton and can't wait to go Back !! 10/10
Our family took the Grizzly gondola up to the top. It was a beautiful ride to the top. The kids had a lot of fun playing in the deep snow at the top.
Nice ski resort in the Canadian Rockies Part of the Big3 (Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Mt Norguay), Lake Louise ski resort is perhaps the best known for hosting the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. Nestled in the glorious Canadian Rockies, this resort offers 10 lifts, over 130 runs, suitable for all skill levels. The ski chalet offers free boot/bag storage racks as well as lockers for a fee. I was very impressed with the resort’s effort to remain environmentally friendly: all packaging and utensils used in their restaurants were either re-usable or recyclable, even one time forks and knives were made of wood! Facilities started to show signs of wear and tear, the gondola is rather dated compared with some other resorts in the region. The only way to get to the summit was via a t-bar rope tow, although my kids loved the rope tow I struggled so hard with it! A new chair lift would have been much better. [Update 2020-12-30] New Summit chair lift WAS installed to replace the t-bar, yay! West bowl is beautiful, and less icy. It was quite windy and icy on the day we visited, but the view at summit was incredible, worth every penny!
Went there on March 6th, 2021 (saturday). The organisation gives you the false impression that you must register online prior to your visit in order to minimize the amount of people heading to the mountain due to COVID. That is bu***hit, they allow everybody to show up, buy tickets on site, and don't enforce any of their own rules. As a result, since chairlifts are loaded at 25% capacity (covid), waiting time at the chairlifts is between 45min-1h all day long. Stayed the entire day on the slopes, could only get 7 rides done. Could not be more disapointed than this.
Feels like a roller-coaster loved it
Beautiful, huge timbered lodge and well organized ski rental facility. The hills are well maintained as well.
Great skiing here! Well worth the drive from calgary. One of my favourite mountains for sure! Friendly staff, nice variety of runs and good snow for much of the season!
Gorgeous, also one of the best views of lake Louise.
Snowboarding at Lake Louise is great. Its not cheap but awesome views. Check weather / snow report before you go - it can be icy. Great Gondola to get up the mountain and great relaxing apres at the powder keg (have the Yorkies )
Great for beginners. View from the peak is amazing.
Gorgeous views but as an intermediate skier, I found even the green runs to be a bit too steep for me
Great for having fun, but the food court could be better.
Best ski resort ever. I've been skiing at Lake Louise for over 10 years now and i have never been disappointed. The ski resort offers so much different variety of terrain because they have the front and backside of the mountain and they are continuing to enlarge the ski resort now!
Great runs! Cool terrain.
Great ski resort! Perfect for all skill levels. Fabulous restaurant at the top of the gondola!
Awesome time skiing at Lake Louise in Feb 2018
Unbelievably beautiful views. Can get a little crowded but its manageable. Top notch facilities and very reasonably priced vs US resorts.
This is my absolute favourite place to snowboard! The runs and stuff are amazing
Very picturesque. Awesome views. Amazing ski instructor. We were lucky with fresh powder on the say we visited. Great food and plenty of it. Would highly recommend the nachos - yum!
Very good view and open chair gondola.
Great experience ????????. First time in a gondola and first time seeing wild bears ????.
This shot is from the parking lot! The views are spectacular! The Bowls on the back side are mind blowing! We did not have optimal ski conditions but the lift ticket is worth it in view alone!
This place is heaven. OMG Coming from BC where Big White is my home ski resort , lake louise is right up there with being just as insane. The conditions were unreal, the views were like something out of this world, the lodge is crazy where you walk out to 3 runs right there is amazing. Kokanee cabin is the place to be for good drinks and a good time in the sun. Tons of places to sit back and relax in the sun if not skiing Will defenitly be back!!!!! Thanks for a great bluebird spring day!!!!
Great, well planned runs with unbelievable views! Staff at rentals and guest services were very friendly and helpful. The whole day was super smooth - from parking to rentals and even the runs. Save the Back Bowls for a day with good visibility!
That where I skied for my first time 2015 and I fell in love with that hill! I have been living coast to coast. Vancouver & Halifax ... I could not be happy has I was not being around the rockies! Lake-Louise is amazing! No matter you level, someone is gonna help you. They also have "ski friend" ask for it if you want ski safelly and see nice stuff they will show you! They also have a bar, canteen, Starbucks and sushie & ramen restaurant inside the main chalet. Also 2 others chalet serving foods up the hill. You can buy, rend equipments. They also have a shop to fix or adjust your equipments!
Hill fun, pretty fast today not many people..Disappointing that they close the food / coffee after lunch...we eat a bit later and they had close-by 2...Sunshine you can grab a coffee at end of day...staff are already getting grumpy and season only halfway through...kinda sours day. The price we pay to enjoy a day out is not necessarily what you get.
Had a wonderful time exploring and seeing the beauty of this place, especially enjoyed canoeing on the Lake
Great mountain for advance and expert skiers/ riders.
Pretty good snow and good terrain but due to its proximity with Banff and the Chateau Lake Louise it is very overpopulated. However the terrain is absolutely incredible, always something to hit. Also the picture of the long line was after 80cm of snow so it was busy. But sometimes it is randomly busy for no reason.
So sure from snowboarding for the first time, but it was an unreal experience here and made me appreciate winter so much more.
Amazing place, breathing views..nice slopes..3/6/19
Great variety of runs at lake Louise for skiing and snowboarding. Much less flats than sunshine, more ideal for snowboarders. I find the snow quality isn't as good, at times can be quite icy. Parking is handled well at lake Louise with a decent amount of overflow.
Very Beautiful place!!! I love to visit again ???? I enjoyed the gondola ride very much!! Beautiful sightseeing!!
This place is EPIC!!! This resort is HUGE and offers something for everyone and has snow making abilities I have never seen before. The lodge was great, the store was supplied with a little of everything, and the facilities were clean and maintained. Excellent time here and our favorite resort of the Big3!!
Great place to enjoy nature and also a chance to see some wild life in action! We got to see a mama bear and her cub! The open gondola ride is so much fun and the views are amazing, especially on your way down as you get to see lake Louise!! The wildlife museum at the top is so informative and interesting,, you get to learn so many facts about different animals, birds and fish that live in the Rockies. Not to forget the restaurant “Whitehorn Bistro”,, has a variety of reasonably priced meals and the patio is amazing! You get to enjoy your meal or simply a cup of tea or coffee while enjoying the beautiful scenery around you. The staff all over the resort are friendly and they’ll be happy to assist you in any way! Try to get the coupons that give u 5$ off each ticket (max of 4 people per coupon) we got ours from the hotel which we stayed at. They have a big parking lot so you won’t have to worry about parking your car (free of charge).
excellent ski destination.
Ultimate ski resort in the heart of the Rockies. Worth the bucks. I was surprised by the number of mountains and runs they have: front side, back bowls and larch! Also, the gondola ride is an amazing addition to the lift chairs (stay warm on your ride up) Staff are super friendly and facility is clean too.
One of the best ski resorts where there are multiple lifts and runs that are longer than 15mins. The views are absolutely stunning. You can save some money by buying passes at costco beforehand. There are some lockers and storage spots but it gets packed early in the day. There are good food options here as well or bring your own food. Lots of seating available.
Never again. Even with a half price mountain collective pass I've never felt so ripped off before. The lineups were the worst I've ever seen in 25+ years at any resort, and the so-called "reservation system" is a farce because it's clearly a way to gather contact information versus limit the amount of people on the mountain. The lineup to get on the gondola was about an hour long and each of the lifts were in the neighborhood of 30+ minutes. If I wanted to be overcharged to spend my day standing in lines, I'd go to Disneyland...and I don't want to go to Disneyland. Absolutely brutal.
Great resort to end a trip on. Good variety of runs, great visibility, mostly good snow cover even when it hadn't come down in a few days. The ramen restaurant was surprisingly good too.
Rated one of the top ski resorts in Canada for a reason (MANY reasons) The views are beyond stunning. The food and drink options plentiful. The skiing is amazing. There are runs for everyone. I have never had a bad ski day at Lake Louise. You can take anyone there for a great day out and they will love it. Love the gondola and all the lifts are nice and obviously well maintained. It's truly a paradise of great views and great skiing
Best mountain closest to Edmonton.. great place to ski
This was a nice big resort. Lots of different runs with an emphasis on the more advanced runs.
We stopped at Lake Louise gondola on the way back to Alberta from Vancouver to end our vacation. The view was beautiful both going up and going down and we even seen a grizzly bear. The reason for not giving a full 5 star rating is because there is not much information about it online and I’m pretty sure you needed a parks pass in order to be in the area we were ( we didn’t have one ) but we still parked and didn’t have any issues.. the second reasoning to a not full 5 star rating is because it’s quite expensive for what you get. Beautiful otherwise.
Awesome views of the Rockies from top of the resort.
Busy place. 3 faces to ski or board. Lots of different levels to challenge all skills. Gondola and chair lifts all over to get you were you need to go. Love it here. Come back often
The gondola ride was awesome! My husband and I were having so much fun and then we looked back and saw the amazing view! We were both glad we went!
absolutely beautiful ski area, with runs ranging from extremely difficult, to beginner, this is an amazing place to ski, and will probably have everything youre looking for. with multiple jump and trick parks, hundreds of runs, and a great lodge with restaurants to dine at, this is a 10/10 ski resort.
One of my favourite ski hills in the world. I learned how to ski here and have never stopped loving it, it is definitely the best hill in the Rockies.
Great selection of runs (good variety and lifts connected fairly logically). Out of Lake Louise Sunshine, I liked Sunshine more for the wide open views and wider runs. My husband liked Lake Louise better for the variety and minor technical elements. Caution: Even the green runs are quite steep (absolutely doable but could be intimidating if your first try in Canadian Rockies).
I love to snowboard at Lake Louise. There is so many great runs and areas on the mountain. It is a more superior mountain than Sunshine and worth the drive. The view is fantastic on a clear day and you can always find powder stashes even if it hasn't snowed in a few days. Can't wait to go back again this weekend.
Worth climbing on the gondolas and spectacular views!
Beautiful and special. Snow condition in early March was still fantastic!
You know it is the best..... Been going here for 15 years and it is still my favorite hill. There is always good times at The Lake.
My second favourite resort in all of Canada! Great terrain and many options to choose from. I was lucky to be there for an 80cm snowfall!
I LOVED SKIING HERE! By FAR the best out of the 3 in Banff. Great weather, nicely marked runs and it was stunningly beautiful. My friend and I ski somewhere different every season and Lake Louise is second only to whistler/blackcomb in beauty and quality of runs.
Early December was a little too early but still had lots of fun
Alex was a fantastic instructor. Made for an awesome first time on a snowboard..Thanks so much to my instructor and all the friendly staff at the resort. Will definitely be back!!!
Great mountain. I have been skiing here all my life
One of Canada's best! Beautiful views, great runs. Happy, friendly staff! My favorite playground. There is a massive parking lot. As with any resort of its type, the prepared food in the cafeterias is overpriced and not what I bring from home! They have microwave ovens.
I love this place it's amazing great runs!
Huge runs. Nice solid greens and blues. Gnarly blacks. Great park. Amazing views.
Some thoughtful fellow in management paid a guy to go to the most out of the way area in the whole parking lot to tell me that I’m in the way. Complete make-work, asserting stupid authority move. Even the guy they made to go tell me thought it was stupid. You guys are brilliant.
Lake Louise is definitely one of my favourite resorts! Only drawback is that it gets very busy on the weekends. Overall will definitely be returning time and time again.
The fabulous Lake Louise, surrounded by mountains. A must see when in Alberta, Canada.
Amazing food price .
Absolutely amazing ski resort!!! A must!
A fantastic ski area within a national park. Lots of fast lifts take you all over the mountains and give you access to great terrain. Not much new snow leading up to my trip so it was really tracked out, but the groomers were great. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful.
Gorgeous views and awesome runs. I did a full day lesson and found all of the instructors to be impressively helpful, encouraging, and patient. Watching the instructors teach the little kids was the best part—they actually exhibited some teaching methods that reminded me to be more patient with my students. Everyone was extremely kind, from the staff who helped me find the right rental boots to whoever of the instructors was closest to someone who fell, quick to help them back up.
The best place I've ever been for skiing. If you love skiing and snowboarding, but haven't had the chance to do it on a real mountain, it's very different than the 'hills' I had to deal with in Ontario. It's beautiful, and everything is so scenic. The runs can be pretty long which is cool when you just want to chill, and the resort is nice.
Little bit cloudy but amazing atmosphere :)
Love this resort but avoid on the long weekends! Especially if one of the lifts is down!
World class ski resort with high calibre skiers, competitions, loads of runs and a large Lodge area. Clever parking arrangements keep all spots within a 5 minute walk from the lodge
Definitely get the breakfast buffet + gondola ride package! Highly recommended!
Always pleasant and fun. Good variety of skiing for all abilities.
This lake is a beauty????????. Fresh blue water from glacier. The scene is awesome and the resort is perfect for outing
Bad covid policy, over loaded with people, cut down endangered trees, increase price and no access to service. Avoid!
Great place to go have a morning breakfast and a hike. Can take the Gondola ride which is pretty amazing in summer too
Best mountain in the Rockies for me, would recommend be there early, it fills up and very busy on weekends. I would ski weekdays, visit and hike the weekend if I were to go again. Don't forget to validate your National park pass, even if you stay within the park, you need to renew everyday. I suggest a yearly pass if you're stay is over 5 days. Park Rangers hang around parkings fire fines so... Ski is already$$$ enough.????
Best mountain To explore all winter long!
Great place to ski.
Blue Sky, great snow, incredible scenery! Absolutely beautiful Lake Louise day.
Probably my favorite place to ski of all time...Lots of great green and blue runs for the family to enjoy...
Best 2 day of skiing at New year's
What an awesome way to see Grizzlies. Highly recommend. I will be doing it again.
Customer service, why don't you answer your emails? Can ArriveCAN application, issued by Canadian government, be used to show proof of vaccination for Tourists? Other resorts like Sunshine accepts it.
Great "learning" area but the beginner slopes are very steep. This is more for intermediate skiing/snowboarding
Only a short drive from Calgary and we were able to enjoy this resort and area for a day of exploring the mountains. Alberta has so much to offer us and happy to have spend the day here. Everyone is friendly and accommodates us very well, thanks
Really nice resort. Loved it, easy to navigate, lots of lifts lots of options.
A great place for skiing! The back bowl is particularly good in spring!
Phenomenal resort. I’m a medium-skilled snowboarder, and this is my favourite resort in Alberta. Variety of runs, lots of trees, and the staff are good about slowing the chairlifts down when I fall getting off (hasn’t happened in awhile, I swear!) There are also multiple dining options, both at the base and mid-mountain. Honestly, it’s enough to visit just for the stunning mountain views. The nachos don’t hurt, either.
Our first visit to Canada from Wales and what a fantastic place to ski, snow conditions superb. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Worth visiting the lake and the Fairmont hotel stunning scenery this is a must visit again holiday.
Went here in June so no skiing but it’s quite a great place to take in the surrounding mountains any time of year. They often see grizzlies from the gondola but we did not. The Whitehorn bistro at the top is superb tho!!
Skiing is good, large variety of hills for beginners and experts. Lifties are friendly, I'd recommend it.
Well layed out and incredible views. Minimal apres but the beer is cold!
The best mountain close to Banff, possibly the best in Canada. Enough lifts to handle huge crowds, and even better on the backside of the mountain. Beginners should stick to the front side, but there's nowhere you can't get down from if you're a green run person. For higher skills, this place offers lots of challenge.
Great place to view more of the rockies
Great runs, and lots of terrain for all levels of riding. They also have a beautiful lodge, that serves great food, I recommend the nachos!
Very pretty resort, good hills for beginners and advanced skiers/boarders.
Phenomenal staff from rentals to lift . Great lodges . Beautiful view and not so crazy line up.
Awesome place to go for a few days of shredding. Enough runs for both experienced and inexperienced riders. My one complaint is the saucer lift. Terrible! It keeps one peak of limits to whomever hates T-bar type lifts.
We’ve been coming to Lake Louise Ski Resort for years but this past winter so far we’ve come more than ever! Since discovering the Plus Card and all the cool deals that Lake Louise has we’ve really enjoyed our trips that much more! Not to mention Lake Louise is one of the nicest resorts with some of the most fun runs we have ever been on! ????
Beautiful resort, tons of skiiable terrain. Lots of choices for any skill level. Back side tends to be more advanced, especially if there's no new snow. Definitely recommend arriving early for best parking choices. Only knock is that food/drink is on the expensive side - but that's just ski resorts for you.
Wow... so beautiful !
This year and specially on Monday after snow fall past weekend, today is amaizing ????????
Skied here with my family on Christmas day. Super quiet, no queues for anything not even lunch or ski passes. We loved the layout and the variety of the terrain. We found some great off-piste among the trees over the back between the Ptamigan & Paradise chairs. We preffered it over Revelstoke which was the previous place we'd skied, although the latter had better snow at the time.
Although the weather was a bit overcast, it was still a trip easily worth doing. A true Gem for Canada and especially Calgary.
This place is pretty awesome. Great mountain. Lots of glades and lots of powder! It could use some more large cabins on the mountain.
They need to have more parking spaces.
Visited over Christmas break. Spent two days riding the mountain -- loved it, however snow conditions were not that great. Can't beat the scenery tho' and being outdoors. Breathtaking !!!
Great lodge and amazing views from the mountain. Long ski trails. T bar to get to the highest point which is strange. Friendly staff and long gondola ride. My favorite mountain in the area for location and runs
Great set of long runs and awesome atmosphere
Great slopes, but resort facility is lacking when compared to Whistler
What a beautiful place I love it !!
If you love to snowboard this is the place for you
Great resort! Lots of runs for every experience level. Amazing views from the top of the gondola.
Couldn't recommend a better ski hill: great and diverse terrains, beautiful mountain, nice staffs, and good and affordable food options (for a ski hill). Wouldn't recommend this hill for a beginner though... Intermediate and advanced skiers would def have more fun here
Best resort to ski at in Banff, Alberta. This is a lovely ski resort with plenty of runs and restaurants dotted around the mountain. The lifties are all very friendly and helpful and I particularly loved the runs through the trees.
It was great, lot more than I expected, also ate at The Whitehorn, service was great
Great ski resort! One of my fav in Alberta. Friendly staff, always have a good time here.
One of my favourite resorts, tons of terrain ranging from beginner to expert, both on and off piste. Wide range of options for lunch, some cool on mountain restaurants. Although, it is quite expensive. Friendly staff, and excellent ski patrol.
Very busy but they keep things moving. Variety of terrain. Beautiful scenery
Beautiful and cold. Lots to explore and the snow had held up great even with out a storm in weeks.
Great morning for skiing, didn't hit positives till 2pm. Late in the season some runs were icy, but not surprised. Just praying for a foot of snow overnight for an amazing day two.
I hate skiing but this was a lovely place
Nice lake but too much people
First time here and it was great. Good place for blues and above
This was probably the better ons of the Big3 Ski mountains. What an awesome experience hitting fresh powder. It was cold the week we were in Banff so layer up lots and get those hand and foot warmers. The hot chocolate at all the restaurants are awesome and helped. Really some of the best skiing ever.
Fantastic skiing. Really great conditions. I highly recommend this resort. I have been come here 4 years straight. Love this resort.
Louise has terrain for every level of Skier or Rider, from Novice to Expert! The views are remarkable. The Powder is steep and deep! The food is great as well when you break for lunch, or for Apres Ski! Sashimi in the Lodge of the Ten Peaks, or a platter of Venison, Wild Boar and Bison you cook at your table in Temple Lodge on the backside. Love Lake Louise!
Still the top pick for Rockies skiing. It offers the best scenic view from many trails. Easily accessible, fast gondola and lifts. Amenities are quite new. Go there early on a nice Sunny day .Can use more parking spaces and should follow Sunshine's idea using a pick up lorry or a bus from distant parking lots. Very helpful ground staff
Best hill for a ski/snowboard day trip from Calgary with amazing views all around.
If you’re looking for a true alpine skiing experience then this is the place for you. I visited here recently while on a work ski trip. Had the best experience since it’s my first alpine skiing. On a side note this place is best for more experienced skiers than for beginners as terrains here are definitely more challenging. Would be happy to ski here again in the future.
Love the runs on this mountain. It's has everything from beginner to expert, wide open to tree cover. Family friendly resort. Definitely looking forward to returning to this resort for another day of amazing skiing. I would suggest going on a week day, the lifts were almost empty
Beautiful ski hill, and so big that it never feels ovetcrowded
Great skiing, very well organised, lots of space on the slopes. Have a picnic area inside with space for luggage storage all free. Best of the big 3
A great ski resort with plenty of terrain. We ate at two different place and both were excellent. Prices were good!
World class skiing, fast lifts, great variety of terrain. EPIC views of the beautiful Rockies. Also not too far from Banff.
Nice place. Plenty of runs to choose from. But some runs have longer flat terrain which makes it a little harder for a novice snowboarder like me to get through.
Hard to say what was better, the views or the skiing. One of my favorite resorts.
Majestic doesn't even explain the beauty of this place!
Beautiful chairlift ride up. 2nd Chair lift was not running while h was unfortunate but the view was amazing.
gorgeous view, great powder snow, will come back for sure
Crazy good runs, well groomed, beautiful views. Also has a burger for $8.50 in the main lodge, can’t complain. Plus card is $99 and you get your 1st, 4th and 7th time lift ticket for free.
I had a great day yesterday. Would come back sometime.
Been experiencing Lake Louise for 16 seasons now. There are many reasons it's voted one of the best ski resorts in North America! Fantastic views, long runs, steep bowls, uncrowded sections, massive terrain, (one could ride here for weeks and not explore it all) good food options and helpful staff! Really enjoying the brand new Summit lift and the addition of the West Bowl terrain is incredible!! Now, if only Louise could replace the Paradise chair, with a faster quad lift system. Hopefully one day...
Great place to ski alone or with friends and family. Tons of different runs to ski on and multiple levels of lifts.
Sarah govaert is absolutely amazing, we had some issues with a lift pass and she was so helpful. We will make this our new favorite spot !!!!! A+
My favorite ski resort so far. Spectacular view, long trails, various terrains, reasonable price. If you are a beginner, the greens may be a bit challenging but hey you should challenge yourself to get better. My family thoroughly enjoyed skiing here and will come back again and again. Almost forgot to mention that the ski school here is awesome! My two kids improved quite a bit.
Gondola experience was very fast and efficient. FYI in the summer, the lift is half enclosed gondolas, half open-air chairlifts (which is nice depending on weather). The top is very scenic that overlooks Fairmont hotel and Lake Louise. The restaurant on top had mediocre service.
Have been coming to Louise my whole life and I love the hill. Minimal flat spots to get stuck on, great green/blue runs for just having a good time, challenging black diamond bowls, and fast chairlifts. Ticket prices can be a little high but if you're going more than once recommend the ski Louise plus card which pays for itself after the first use ($114). Can buy these cards usually before Christmas and they give 1st, 4th, & 7th visit free and $20 off the other visits. Food on the hill is great if a bit pricey. Recommend the back side cabin for lunch as it's usually a little quieter/smaller than the front. For the hill itself, I recommend starting the day off moving to the backside as ski school groups don't often get back there/start right away. Can either go up the gondola to the top or take the two chairs (grizzly/top of the world). As the day goes on the front side will have warned up and although crowded, might have some softer snow that hasn't been scraped off. It's tempting to drive to the door but the parking will cost you $20. Free parking in lot 3 is just a little down the road and actually comes back to the entrance putting you only a few further steps away. Save the money on parking and save it for lunch!
Great ski resort with long runs and a mix of easy and harder runs. All staff are very friendly. Food in the lodge is a reasonable price.
Pros: Many spots with tight trees keep powder hounds happy for a week or two after a snowfall. Back bowls have good conditions most of the time. Slack country is great...ask a local about West Bowl which is out of bounds with one helluva traverse out. Sunny Alberta means you can saturate yourself with spectacular views of glaciers across the valley where if you are a 5 star hotel type you can enjoy a stellar stay. Lake Louise is a quiet village. If you want to "party" stay in Banff. Cons: Can be cold. Front side pistes get a lot of traffic and therefore scraped off quickly which when combined with sun affected slopes makes for some hard to edge conditions. Summit platter and Paradise slow triple chair serve the back bowls and are slow. Summary: Dedicated skiers will love LL in pristine Banff Nat Pk. NB: Alpine touring is good just up the valley and Rogers Pass is in reach for back country day trips. Epic experiences are available.
I really don’t understand why there is so much love for this resort. The lineups are absolutely insane when the snow isn’t even that good. Gondola lineup was 45minutes and all of the lift lines were at least 30 minutes as well. Unacceptable really
Just amazing!! Loved the mountain, lifts, snow, and people!!! Could spend 3-4 days there without getting bored.
Good fun runs for all levels + spectacular views.
Beautiful and well organized. I love the fact that the lift operators help you get loaded on the gondola. Great service
Lake Louise has some of the best skiing in all of Canada, while situated in the beautiful Rockies of Banff national park, just an hour and thirty five minutes away from Calgary.
Amazing place to visit.. specially in winter you can go top of the mountain
Great tree runs, good conditions, and automated ticket machines are quick!
Looks lit headed there on Friday
Wake, bake, go to the lake... I LOVE THIS MOUNTAIN. Best resort with the best terrain in BNP. Always something fun to ride no matter the conditions. Pub serves beer. Multiple lodges all equipped with beer. Many awesome places to blast a j and rip the GNAR! Very scenic, with plenty of pretty mountain tops to gaze upon while shredding. Trees and glades, powder bowls, terrain park and wildlife.
Best hill in Canada hands down everyone is so caring about your good times . Very interesting crew at the mountain. Hard not to fall in love with lake louise ski resort. I'll be back forsure
We loved our time at this ski resort. Our snowboarding lessons with Will aka Billy were great. I wish I had his level of patience because I was annoyed by me after a while lol. The bunny slope even though a bit crowded at times was perfect for my group and it wasn't too difficult. I wish the locker area was a bit more spacious with a few more benches for changing boots. Also, the food is not worth the price just bring your own lunch.
Great fun! Great facilities, Great staff!
Excellent ski resort ???? Plenty of runs to choose from and the food at the chalet was quite delightful ❄️ Excited for the next experience
Had a great time visiting the mountains! Banff offers plenty of fun opportunities to take part in
I like snowboarding at Lake Louise ski resort more than sunshine because there are less flat areas and more moderate slopes that non experts can practise on. Also the view is great! It is a little pricey at $124.00 per lift ticket but I got the plus card so it ended up being $100.00.
Could have better trail signage.
Great mountain! Snow making on lower portions for early and late season riding. Lodge is nice and offers a great view of the slopes. Views from the top of the slopes of the Canadian Rockies are amazing.
Lake Louise is beautiful. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. I have not ridden all the Banff area hills but it just felt a cut above the rest. Even the riding just had more to offer as far as terrain went. The staff was friendly and very helpful to new arrivals to the hill. They even had self serve ticket sales which sped up that process tremendously! I'd go back in a heart beat. If I could give an extra star I would ????
Fantastic ski hill, reasonable prices for the awesome snow and large selection of runs and varying levels of difficulty. If I could give this 6 stars I would.
Enjoyable ride where you can choose between the open or the closed gondola. The buffet breakfast was also pretty good.
Arguably the best ski hill in Alberta with views to die for. Our go to hill as Calgary residents. Go early to get a parking spot. The only complaint would be the tbar to access the chutes in the back.
Ride the gondola in summer is not a good choice.
Beautiful place. Simply beautiful. Very close to Mother nature.
Excellent ski resort, very friendly staff. The slopes are much more difficult than other slopes at ski resorts in the United States. If you are a beginner, you will probably need to take some lessons and practice on the bunny hill for a few days.
I went there during summer, and I bought gondula ride + breakfast ticket. It is a nice ride but don't expect to see animals, it is rare to see. The breakfast is really good.
Weather was perfect, lines short, no ice!
Great resort. Big mix of terrain, you can always find something to ski, poor vis/ good vis, new snow / no snow. Back side bowls with powder are awesome... Front side tends to gets icy... Always beautiful
I'm still a beginner, there are plenty of easy going runs to learn on. Excellent food in the lodges once you've had enough.
It offers many amazing slopes and the view from above is just gorgeous.
Great mountian. Gondola is quick and takes you right to the top.
Amazing location, fantastic ski runs, views outstanding, amenities a plenty
Pretty magical! I have a new, added appreciation for this resort after having ACL surgery. I used to enjoy the more challenging runs and bowls at Louise, but now I’m so impressed by how awesome a day of blues and greens can be! Louise really has something for every level in nearly every part of the mountain ????. Can’t wait to ski ⛷ here again!
Been about a year since was last on a board and couple of years since I was last at Lake Louise, so thought we would head out for the long weekend. Didn't realize how rusty I was so going to be aching for a while until I get back into swing of things. Lake Louise however was excellent for this time of year (Nov 11) despite the low lift and run count. Which can be overlooked due to it having just recently opened for the season. Hope to be back out this winter season.
Lots of runs and beautiful mountains. Lines for lifts were not too busy and often we were alone on our little part of the run.
Probably the best Canadian resort for all ski abilities
We visited the resort a couple of weeks ago in July and had a fantastic exprience. We bought the ride and dine combo for a gondola ride and lunch. Price was reasonable. Food was top-notch. Staff at the gondola, on the trail, in the cafeteria and at the customer service is all courteous and professional. We saw a grizzly bear eating berries for lunch. What a surprise. I had a few suggestions for improvement and the lady at the ticket window listened carefully and wrote everything down to pass to management. That's the attitude every business needs to adopt. We will be back skiiing in the winter based on our summer experience here.
Good resort, friendly staff. Great views all around. Went to the power keg for lunch and had great service! Good day at the hill! Good selection of runs here. From beginner to expert everyone can find something they like
Amazing mountain, many high speed qauds/6 person chairlifts, lines move fast and staff are super friendly! Ps thanks for including everyone the best you can this season!
[Attention Lake Louis, this is a complaint letter to you.] We were lining up at the Grizzy Express gondola earlier today. There was no sign indicated if anyone does not want to share the gondola with other groups that group needs to go lining up again at the other lift chair across from this Gondola. (This is the background) So when it was our turn to hop on the gondola the gentleman named “Dave Shebek” asked us if we were ok sharing the Gondola with others. I declined the offer. He then told us we need to wait aside. After awhile he told us “Alberta government approved us to run the gondola with full capacity, if you refused to share with others then you need to wait till the line clears up more, everyone has two doses of vaccines” then he made us wait aside, with the attitude. I explained the reason for not sharing the gondola this time was because I need to take off my mask. (I need to adjust it while riding to the top of the mountain). And I don’t want others to feel uncomfortable. I also expressed that I’m not happy with what he treated us. He said “Well That’s your problem.” “…….?!” I told him this was my right to ask for what I need. He told us if that’s the case, we want to consider lining up at the lift chair this time and moving forward. “…….?!” After some back and forth conversation, he finally let us go. I thanked him. However I am writing this review here because I believe the kind of help/service/guidance we have received from him was not right. Dear Lake Louis, please kindly let me know if this was the way you run the business. Do you support your Staff/Member give attitude to random riders when they have some “special requests” (and is this special?) I consider myself as an easy going person, which I don’t mind to share most of the time. However, with the current condition of pandemic, can a staff/member force the riders or give attitude like this? What we have revived today only worth 1 star rating. I gave 3 stars for the others hard work. Thank you.
Really enjoyed my day out on the hills of Lake Louise. Facility itself was well maintained and full of amenities. The staff was readily available for any questions or issues that may have come up. Plenty of room to sit and relax with options for dining and shopping. Overall highly recommend the hills, fresh pow and scenery.
This place had the most epic views and vistas I've ever seen in my life. There are so many awesome options for runs. The lifts were fast and never too crowded. I would come here a hundred more times given the opportunity. So great and beautiful. ❤️
Awesome place for snowboarding.
What a place. Terrain for all levels even into May. Despite a super warm stretch in March they have done a fantastic job managing the snow. Grooming is obviously top notch.
Amazing view, a grizzly bear was there, ride was nice, only thing was a bit over priced. We used a groupon that included breakfast, so it made it an ok deal.
Great variety of terrain and all of the staff i spoke with were very friendly and helpful. The bowls on the backside had lots of snow which was great. Getting to the top can be difficult as it's unfortunately a very long tbar, but it's worth it especially if you are looking for powder bowls. Lodge amenities seemed decent, but no obvious water fountains for skiers and snowboarders though, so I was forced to buy water.
A hikers paradise! Do the teahouse hike! You won't regret it! What an awesome day, and such a beautiful place! You could easily spend 3-4 days hiking different trails! We didn't stay at the hotel but came back and hiked 3 different trails. Absolutely amazing trip!
Lake Louise has been my go-to ski resort for over 10 years now. Good variable terrain. Have had some of the best days with friends here. I normally come snowboarding here around half a dozen times per season. But due to the pandemic I haven't really gone out too much during this 2020-2021 season because I've seen how busy it gets with long line ups especially on weekends. I've decided not to go mostly because of this which is fine. Eventually things will be back to normal and I'll be back again more frequently. To all those complaining and giving bad reviews because of the wait times, honestly what do you expect?! They need to follow the health guidelines set out by our government just to remain open. It is beyond their control. They're trying their best to stay open and to continue to run a business during these times. Some people expect lift ticket prices should be dropped due to wait times. Would you also expect a restaurant to lower their prices when there is a long wait time for a table? This is especially hard if a business is expecting less profits due to the circumstances. Simply put, if you don't like it then don't show up and go elsewhere.
This is one of the best skiing resorts I have ever visited. Very near to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise which gives complimentary shuttle, the rental stores have the BEST GEAR with all friendly Aussies to help. And the Japanese restaurant has super delicious ramens.
Impossible to describe the views. Amenities were great as well.
Really rude staff, steadily dealing with them power tripping about whatever they can and wasting your time. And they also lie about snow reports and which runs and lifts are open they claimed great snow conditions and all runs were open, numerous runs were closed and the hill was extremely icy. I won't be going back there anymore. Waste of a day when you could go anywhere else and get more skiing in and not be on pure ice all day.
Unbeatable! Soooo worth the time to come here every chance I get! Hands down the best ski resort I’ve been too!
The Gondola ride has breathtaking views!
Nice, long runs. If you're going with a group that varies in ski/snowboard level, you can still do the runs together. There are usually long green runs with branches onto harder runs, but they all meet up at the end.
Absolutely incredible variety in terrain. Gorgeous views, and with fresh snow, this place has all sorts of hidden powder stashes to hit all day long.
Beautiful resort. Has some of the greatest views I have ever seen. It has a ton of terrain made up of a majority of intermediate runs. This is a great beginner/intermediate mountain. Not quite technical enough if you're an advanced skier/snowboarder. Definitely worth the stop, especially if you have the Mountain Collective pass.
My wife and I skied Lake Louise on Saturday, March 20th. We were skiing our first run early in the morning and my wife took an awkward fall and badly twisted her knee. She could not get up and therefore we called the Lake Louise Ski Patrol. We did not have to wait long and Eleanor came to help us out. She was fantastic; compassionate and very patient with us. Eleanor also knew how to lighten the mood and put a smile on our face considering our concern. Once Eleanor brought my wife to the Medical Tent, the rest of the staff were great and treated her very well. I would also like to put out a special mention to Lucas. His customer service was fantastic! As a bonus, my wife, our friend, and I received a rain check to come back and ski another day the following season. Lake Louise did not have to do that. Very classy move on their part. It's been 9 weeks and my wife is still rehabilitating her knee. It will be a slow and steady process to recovery.
An excellent ski resort
Very nice place. Like in a fairy tale. Nice skiing, love the wood signs for ski slopes name and color.
Love!
We visited on a late afternoon in July for the gondola ride and to our surprise they had discounted price for all rides from 4.30pm, so, that's a great start. After the visit I would say that Lake Louise Gondola is a little better experience than the Banff Gondola, and keep in mind, they are both amazing and worth your time & money. My wife loved the chair lift while I enjoyed the closed gondola with our little one, can't describe how beautiful the view is - you see the lake and great Canadian Rockies from 6850 feet (wiki reference). Take the 5-10 mins walk down from the viewpoint to the wildlife museum (forgot the actual name) and restaurant - you will be presented with some good entertainment. Great wildlife museum and a rich source of knowledge. We were brought down all the way to the parking lot via shuttle as they had to close the gondola rides due to thunderstorm - their crew did a great job given how unexpected and quick the sunshine was replaced with the scary storm! 5 stars for that but overall review is missing a star as I hoped they would have more accessibility features. Would definitely recommend to f&f
Only a few runs open November 11.'Great start to the 2018/2019 ski season
And this is just the start of the season! I see good things ahead
GREAT FOR THE HOLIDAYS! My friends and I decided to take a trip out on Boxing Day. It was fantastic the hill was quiet and was able to get on the chairlifts with ease. My favourite part of the day was going into the main lodge for some food and beers. Great atmosphere and excellent service
Thanks for including EVERYONE this ski season!
Although I came here in summer, it could still be magnificent just viewing from the car. I recommend you guys to take chairlift instead of gondola in case of getting better experience!
Beautiful views and your best chance of seeing a bear
Came for a visit in September.. very nice ride up the gondola.. the walk back to the gondola after the restraunt was all uphill and needed many rest stops on the benches on the trail. The menu was small but the food was GREAT!! The seafood chowder was to die for!!
Large mountain with lots of terrain variety, a little icy on top but overall great fun
Did a nighttime guided snow shoe tour with Daniel (Madrid, Spain) and he was awesome. It was pretty chilly that night and no complaints. He was entertaining, the snow was powder fresh and knee deep. Will definitely be doing more snow shoeing out there this year. Thanks Daniel for a memorable experience. -Scott-
Big mountain for big mountain skiing.
Always a good time!! Lots of terrain for every skill level, and some pretty amazing views.
Beautiful ski resort. Great runs and multiple areas of 360 views of the mountain ranges. One of my favorite resorts by far. A lot of steep runs. Enjoyed how steep some were even when they were groomers. Here’s a photo of the nachos we got upstairs in the lodge. Highly recommend.
Just had lunch with my 14 yr son on the Banded Peak patio at Lake Louise, unfortunately it was not a good experience. My son is registered in a mulit-week ski program where he only has 1 hr for lunch before returning to his lesson. Unfortunately, because the patio uses an internet service for ordering food and otherwise long lines for food service, the restaurant was unable to serve my sons food in time before he returned to his lesson. As a result, he returned to his ski lesson without his food being served. If you are planning to ski a Lake Louise or in a similar situation, I would not recommend relying on food service at Lake Louise.
Awesome mountain, view is excellent as usual in the Rockies..!
Love this amazing resort. Not very crowded.
Great race, great organizers...
Love Lake Louise! The runs are long and there is a ton of terrain to check out if one area of the mountain is busy. Definitely a must if you're in the Calgary area.
A wonderful experience. We were there for summer 2019..kids loved seeing mama bear with her Cubs...option for open chair lift or typical gondola...a great experience overall.....
Great resort, especially runs off the T-bar at the top
We visited during the summer and took the gondola up the mountain, walked the Kicking Horse trail, visited the exhibit, and marveled at Lake Louise. The Kicking Horse trail was a fairly steep 0.5 mile walk uphill within the bear area. The kids weren't too happy about the hike until we got to the lookout area. The view over the Rocky mountains from the top of the trail was absolutely magnificent. You can see the glacier covered Rockies, Lake Louise, the forest, it was definitely worth the hike! The lodge was quiet. Not many people during one of the busiest summer tourist days of the year. We ate at the sushi restaurant. Good was excellent, reasonably priced, friendly waitress.
We went there during the summer and I kind of wondered whether the $40 lift ticket to the top would be worth it without any snow. Was I ever wrong. The views from the top were/are indescribably beautiful. We took the “Trail of the Bear” hike which was worthwhile and informative. All told the summer gondola here is time and money well spent.
I'm not a skier but I thoroughly enjoyed the gondola ride up the hill. The view and resort facility is worth the fame.
Skied the heck out of LL in mid April. Awesome snow (which was great after dodging rocks in CO this season). Black runs are true blacks, which was a surprise after Sunshine where it seems like they just slap a black marker on anything steeper than a bunny hill. Spent a morning and afternoon with the Ski Friends, who were amazing and indispensable for getting a quick idea of all the fun runs. My wife, a blue skier, loved it and had plenty of wide groomers to enjoy. We could easily ride a lift, split up onto blacks and blues, and meet up at one of the lifts for more. Cool place.
Hills were awesome but rental staff were rude and unenthusiastic. Bonus chair lift staff were so friendly. Spent most of the day in line up's. Beware when it's busy it's 1.5 hours to get on the gondola - go early!
The ski area is huge. Great variety of pists of different levels and styles. One of our favourite places to ski.
Absolutely loved it. Diverse terrain, great for all skill levels. Absolutely recommend on a powder day. Outta the three fields in the area this is my fav.
One of the most beautiful ski hills around!!
Excellent hill to go play in the snow on. We had pretty epic conditions and as long as you went and played in the trees conditions were great all day
Great hill surrounded by a great environment. I went the first day of opening and had no complaints!
Awesome place to ski and enjoy the day. Lots of runs to fill the day.
The skiing here is about as good as I have ever had, and the gondola to the top is a real treat.
Went during the summer season so it was only the ski lift and gondola. The ski resort isn't that impressive during the summer as we were hoping there would be a bit more for the price of the tickets we paid ($38CAD) there isn't much of an opportunity to walk around. The lift is okay but nothing amazing . But there is a really good restaurant up there if you want to go for a meal with a view which was about $22-28 for a meal (the balcony looks over lake louise). They have an option for you to pay an extra $20 on top of your ticket ticket for a ride and dine experience where you get a $25 food voucher which I guess is good
Great place has free shuttle over to lake louise
My family really loved this mountain. We came after the holiday period and it was perfect crowd wise. My son was enrolled in ski school and he didn't want to leave. They have a good learning area and the staff were really friendly. The food was better than expected, even the hot dog tasted good. Food/drinks were on the pricier side but that's to be expected. The rental equipment is in very good condition so you don't feel like it's cheap or over used. I did the 2hr sightseeing snowshoe tour with Maggie and thoroughly enjoyed it. She was knowledgeable and really liked educating people about the mountain and terrain. Lots of powder on the mountain which made it surreal. Unbelievable views for those like me who weren't skiing but wanted to do something active. We can't wait to go back.
Such a great ski hill... love the backside of the mountain, especially the Paradise Bowl. Which there was more option for lunch but we do understand that is harder with the Covid19 restrictions.
Outstanding experience from the complimentary shuttle from Banff to the huge ski domain loaded with fresh snow, the nice lodges for lunch, and virtually no wait in lines for the lifts. 5*
My favorite mountain to go snowboarding. I've done a few ski trips but this one is the only one I've done not only a second, but third time. The slopes are amazing, the bowls are gorgeous and the views are spectacular. The lodges are nicely done with a classic wood chalet feeling. The food is good with lots of choices. I even found decent vegetarian selections. A must goto mountain for any lovers of skiing and snowboarding.
Has to be the best skiing resort. Always an amazing time skiing here. Especially when they get a huge snow fall! Fantastic 2019 season
I just LOVE Lake Louise. The scenery is certainly incredible however, the traffic was insane getting into town so we turned our attention to the legendary ski resort. Chairlift rides up the mountain are available to really get a great alpine view, bike ride or hike. Nice coffee and pastries and sit down menus available. So very beautiful.
Amazing views. Great runs
Very long lineups at all lifts. Around 15 to 30 minutes waiting in lineup. Couldnt get enough runs in. And staff will harass you if your mask isnt covering your nose. Ruined the experience. There are better mountains.
Best 2 days of skiing without any new snow. We had great new year snow. It was busy on the front side but was easy you find open runs in the back.
The good thing is that the weather is always one of the best weather when you visit and the resort is very close to highway 1. The bad thing is that the hill doesn't get fresh snow if it doesn't snow in the weeks before and most of the time I go it's very icy which doesn't ruin most of the experience.
The Lake Louise Ski Resort is the first stop on the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup circuit, and the only place in Canada where this event is held. The event, also known as the Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup, is described by Alpine Canada as "Canada's highest-profile alpine ski race", and attracts high-profile downhill skiers from around the globe - such as four-time World Cup champion, Lindsey Vonn. The races began at the resort in 1980 and have run consecutively since 1993, and is one of the select few that hold both the men’s and ladies speed events on the World Cup circuit and plays host to the first World Cup downhill and super-G races of the season. The Lake Louise Ski Resort hosted its first FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup in December 2013. The resort also hosts Shake The Lake: a freestyle and live music event held at the end of the snow season.
Longest runs at a ski resort within an hour from Banff. Since you drive up to the base of the hill you get skiing sooner once you arrive. Quite a few restaurants on the hill and at the base for food or a drink.
Small group went early season (Nov 25) and had a really good time. Wasn't super busy yet though World Cup Down hill did cause the parking lot fill up and occupied about half of the front side of the mountain. Still a ton of rideable terrain. They were making snow like crazy, we did encounter quite a few icy patches but we were told it had rained a few days prior. Our favorite run of the day was the Lookout on the farside Larch Chair -- Green run but a very good spot to pickup some speed and cruise. The lodge on the farside had a very limited menu, will be fully open mid December.
Well-organized hill, friendly staff, beautiful mountains. Parking is easy. Do not speed up the road to the parking lot for obvious reasons plus there is high police presence on the road. If looking for complex terrain head up the Summit Platter, or once exiting the Gondola, hang skiers right down the backside for some shoots. It’s a little bit harder to find at lake louise because the hill is rather moderate. Great place for the whole family. A very moderate hill. The front side of the mountain closer to the bottom gets pretty slick! Stick to the top or backside even if you are a beginner.
Had a incredible experience recently, didn’t see any animals unfortunately. Was worried about going during covid , better wasn’t busy at all . The other areas nearby was very busy , but not here a the gondolas. The staff was very friendly, helpful. The covid measures were good I felt safe being there . The views were so breathtaking. Such a magical day . I want to snowboarding this winter , seems like it would be a incredible hills . Thank you for a great experience!
Incredible skiing, one of the most beautiful places I have been. Definitely hit the back bowls, definitely après with a gluhwein at the Fairmont.
This is a great place to ride a gondola to see bears.
4* resort. One of the best runs in Rockies. Foot rest bars on most lifts, but no wind guards. Some renovation would be nice. Quite expensive. Bad COVID policy. -2* for the 2021/22 season ! Most resorts require vaccination or negative test and no face masks on chairlifts. Lake Louise requires masks instead. It makes me crazy because of glasses. Many people do not respect this rule. It is hazard for other guests - possible COVID positive people without masks.
An amazing place hiking is spectacular there up to mirror lake
Awesome place to go boarding would highly recommend doing some backcountry if your an advanced snowboard/skier and willing to hike a bit
extremely cold, love the tours, gorgeous view
Absolutely iconic area and a fantastic ski hill. It's a little bit warmer than sunshine is typically so on hotter days the snow conditions aren't quite as good. However the runs at Lake Louise are better imo compared to many of the other ski hills in the area
One of my favorite places in the world..
Love this mountain! A little further than sunshine but a much better all-around hill than sunshine. Definitely recommend!
This is the second time visiting lake Louise ski resort. We love this mountain. Both times we had great skiing conditions. The dry snow is beautiful to go skiing and look at. The mountain ranges around is amazing. There’s a lot of different difficulty skiing slopes. I especially love the Sawyer nook restaurant on the mountain. The food was amazing. Recommend getting the Lake Louise card for discounts.
Must see. Ski lift price is fair. Great view and some hiking can be done after the gondola ride or in stead of. Lot less people then at the Lake Louise lodge. The ski lodge is an amazingly beautiful log structure. My picture does not do any justice to the building. Nice outdoor patios for taking in a beer or glass of the wine.
My favourite resort but not for the season 2021-2022. No vaccination verification or negative test is required for chairlifts ! ! ! Why no tests? They care about money but not about safety.
There is a reason for it to be rated as the best view ski resort! You can see lake Louise when you ski downhills!
Nice long trails. Great for a day of relaxing runs.
The Lake is simply amazing. Even on busy days there's enough lift infrastructure to move people around the hill quickly and efficiently. Only quibble was that the deck of the Whitehorn Bistro gets hit with wafts of sewage smell periodically.
In the Banff Area, the Lake Louise Ski Resort is a definite must visit! Such a large resort, there are so many slopes to please all different types of skiers. You can go all day and not repeat a run. This place is definitely worth visiting!
Had a good time. The restaurant menu at the top was a bit disappointing for trying to feed kids so we didn’t eat as we had planned, but did bring a picnic so all was not lost. Had a nice hike, very friendly staff. The lifty Michael was extremely friendly, my husband and I really appreciated his conversation.
Loved sking Lake Louise. Long runs, lots of moguls and not crowded even on a saturday. Often times I found runs with no one on them. Amazing sushi restraunt onsite and made for a super experience.
U must try this!!! So Much fun.
I had an awkward fall at the top of Ptarmigan chute and pulled a calf muscle so couldn’t ski. Called the Ski Patrol and Amy showed up 10 min later. She called for a toboggan and James arrived within a few minutes. Given that we were at the top of a double black, Tom arrived as well. Somehow they got me down a double black on a toboggan. James was exhausted and was amazing. Hats off to the entire team. Very professional and super nice throughout. Thanks for the snowmobile ride Monique. Hope to see you all in about a month or so. Also thanks to Larry and Colleen for their help. Curtis Lester.
Easily one of the most underrated places to visit. We happened to learn about this through the Lake Louise information center located at the Lake Louise Village. The girl behind the counter was very helpful and also gave us $10 x 4 discount coupons for the Gondola. We headed to the Gondola and the views atop are stunning. You can view lake louise from a far distance along with all nountain peaks. The open chair lift was our favorite. The guide on top is very engaging and so is the staff at the animal information center. The restaurant at the base camp is very good.
Huge resort with lots of interesting terrain. Spectacular lodge.
If you know how to make the best of it, you will find the tickets worth it. I didn't do much as I reached there late (without proper gear). The peak, where the cable car takes you is super-high. A lot of routes to ski down or snowboard down!! Safety is taken care of. They put soft spongy thing in front of pillars/trees where there is a chance for people to crash!! Food and other services are good too!!
Awesome views. Excellent facilties. Great conditions.
Very awesome place. Good deal for Gondola after 4:30 PM. The view is breathtaking
Views for days! Ski here on a bluebird day if you can. Also plenty of great terrain for every ability and 360 degrees of exposure ensure quality snow conditions.
Took snowboarding lessons here, first time ever on a snowboard. Laurent (typo?) Q was a great instructor and I would recommend him to anyone who goes and wants to have a good time, while falling on their butts a couple times.
Best ski hill in alberta !!!!!make sure you go up the poma lift rite to the top and over the back side its AWESOME!!
Magical place with amazing views and awesome staff keen to help. Only wish we had more days to stay in lake louise.
This was a fun place for an introduction to snowboarding. We were new to the activity and the instructors were great - very patient, and knew exactly how to get us going quickly. A lot of the staff are visiting form other countries. The snow is great, the view is amazing.
Great choice of food, rental gear for the snow and busses coming around every half hour it's a great place to spend the day. Make sure to dress warm in winter!
My favourite hill in Alberta. I've been coming to this hill since 2013, this season (18/19) I could finally afford to buy myself a seasons pass here. And I've already gone 12 times to Lake Louise, it's expensive but definitely worth it. Chute's to the right between Paradise and Top of the World are steep, technical and super fun to ride. All of the runs off the Summit Platter, like Whitehorn, are amazing for steep off-piste skiing. Backside gets quite a bit of flat light, but it's manageable.
Absolutely breath taking views. The food is pricey but nothing out of the ordinary for a tourist spot. You can bring your own food and eat there. VERY! Busy and loud but enjoyable.
Very nice and cool enjoyable places.
First experience skiing west, and i chose a classic: Lake Louise. Just wow! No big touristic village here, just a lodge with what you need, and pure fun on the slopes. That's what i came for. A place for real ski and snowboard lovers. I was lucky enough to get 1 foot of fresh pow, so i guess i experienced the bowls and stuff like Rock Garden in their best shape. 5 stars for me, would recommend to any one.
Amazing views! Friendly service and staff! Well worth stopping by any time of the year!
Was there a few years back - absolutely loved it. Wish I had the $$ to go back - I'd go tomorrow.
With 12 inches of fresh powder overnight Lake Louise did not disappoint. Plenty of runs for every level and plenty of ski lifts to get you where you need to go. Runs are well kept with plenty of spots to dip off for a ride through the tree. Some of the easier runs get fairly crowded but if you can get off the back or to a more difficult run you have no problem carving down the mountain. Great food options for everyone’s taste buds and a great alcohol selection for those who desire it. Great resort for everyone’s needs.
This place is truly beautiful and probably the best place in Alberta to ski or snowboard. Lots of backcountry and glades to take on. Has a verticale drop elevation of 991 meters or 3250 feet and just stunning views all aound as it reaches 2637 meters or 8650 feet
Always has and always will be my favourite ski resort in Alberta. So much variety of terrain that there are not just runs for ever level of skier but a lot of runs for every level of skier. The on hill food is also great and their lifts keep everyone moving perfectly.
Lifts for the general public open at 9am and not 8 as is shown on Google.
Absolutely stunning! Come here every year.
Great run layout and mix of blue and black runs.
Awesome ski resort. Heaps of runs, some decent parks, and an affordable price compared to some of the bigger resorts. Only word of warning is the LL village is a little sparse so perhaps plan to either stay in Banff and transit every day, or just make do with what you can at the LL village!
My first experience at lake louise..was a pleasant one. And yes, I'm gonna make ski a sport to love.
what a beautiful place. we visited during summer but I can picture the sheer beauty of winter. once staff.
Had great family and friends vacation, ski, horseback rides, hiking, food...
Great friendly people and postcard views everywhere
Fantastic place. Lots of variation for people and friends/family with different skills. The park was great fun. The green and blue runs can be fast if you want..and you can find the powder if you need. Nice little hidden tree runs and places to explore. If youre a snowboarder there aren't many of those horrible flat runs that take you back to where you need to be. Lots of great lifts and a gondola to get where you need to go. Bag storage for free, on shelving. And also lockers. Great little water bottle-fillers and boiling hot water and microwave so you can do your own thing. The toilets had many stalls and were well kept. Only problem was men's and women's were on different levels. Argh! Hard when you're with you're partner. Someone has to take the long way. Best thing was the free shuttle to Banff town. A long trip yet they do it for free! Staff, lift operators etc were all very friendly. Had a great day out here. No lift lines mid-Feb on a Wednesday. Recommended for sure. Love the look of the timber throughout the resort facilities too. Something you don't see much of at any other resorts these days!
The most stunning scenery combined with world class skiing and outstanding customer service. Not to be missed.
Classic, famous ski resort. Gondola is awesome, great food services.
Lake Louise is ok. A lot of inexperienced skiers and boarders makes it tricky to get safely down the hill on certain runs. I find it icy here as the snow gets scraped down quickly due to the high volume. However, Lake Louise has a variety of terrain and of course beautiful views, which makes it a must-try ski resort. The log cabin style lodge is also beautiful, but bring your own lunch ($$$) !
incredible at all times of the year, no words to describe.... Not expensive and super fun but snowshoes and indispensable if you want to walk in the lake that is frozen and covered with snow in winter.
Always a great time going to the mountains to ski. We went boxing day and never had to wait in line once to get on any lifts. Might be the best day to go along with new years day. Only reason I gave this review 4 star is because the food was not only expensive, but my burger I ordered was almost raw in the middle. Since I bought the Louise ski pass, I will be going to ski again, but next time I will be bringing my own lunch.
The gondola experience is fantastic. Steve O was a wonderful and insightful guide at the top and the lodge and gift shop are beautiful at the bottom. Ur world have been a successful trip with the kids even if we hadn’t send the grizzly mother and cub
Absolutely wonderful ski resort. Went snow shoeing with my ten year old and had an amazing time. The gondola ride up is worth it in itself. Stunning views, fresh snow and an amazing guide. Am not a skier, but the ski runs looked incredible. Would definitely recommend it.
I’m a professional skier and out of all the resorts that I’ve skied in Alberta and British Columbia I like lake Louise the most. There’s been more snow this season then ever in history. My favourite part of the resort is the back side specially the runs Marmot and lookout.
Had our wedding here recently. Absolutely wonderful. We had a couple hiccups on our side of planning and they were so helpful and accommodating! Beautiful venue. Delicious food. Attached just married sign to our chair lift on the way down. Very cute. Would definitely recommend for a mountain wedding.
Amazing place to be in the winter. The beauty is just mind blowing
What an excellent place to ski; many runs for all abilities. The EV chargers are also a nice touch but there are only 2; please install at least 2 more !!
So many runs on all sides of the mountain! They have an awesome terrain park! Looking for more powder? They got spots everyday of the year! Wanting more bush and tree runs? They got it! Everything you want to experience, visit here! They have 3 restaurant options with great foods!
With the recent guidelines I'd highly recommend not to shovel out 134$. They say the place is at half capacity when it's not. I've skied many many years and that is a full capacity. The parking spaces everything. The lines up are about 1.5 -2 hours just to get up on the Gondola. After lunch same thing. Mind you this was all on a NON-powder day. I just don't think 134$ for 4 runs is acceptable. Save your money and go to sunshine. Better snow and better lineups and they don't lie.to you.
We skied here for two days. We took an advanced lesson with an instructor named Jenny. She equipped us with knowledge and technique. Beautiful magnificent views from virtually everywhere on the mountain.
Don’t even think twice! Just go if you ever have the opportunity ! And if you don’t have an opportunity to go there; we’ll create one and go! I Honestly didn’t want to leave.
Great ski hill with tons of challenging runs. Can’t wait to come back soon
Took private lessons with my brother and we got paired up with Roland who made our experience incredible! He was constantly supportive of teaching us how to improve our skiing and was super patient with us as beginners. His feedback greatly improved our abilities and within the full day we were more confidently finishing the green runs (which have some sections that are more like blue runs). Definitely made our day on the slopes much better!
Where do I start? Absolutely unbelievable! Lake Louise is STUNNING and the ski resort is top class - I'm not a great skier but I gave it my all and had a great time - highly recommended !
Excellent Hike in the Summer beautiful views of lake Louise and the surrounding Rockies
Very beautiful place to see the mountain
Great ski hill, the lines arent usually too long if you don't go on the weekend. The pk is a great place to have a couple beers and some nachos.
This is easily in the top 5 ski resorts in Canada. Just hope for a sunny day and you can take plenty of selfies :). The outlook post is really one of a kind.
Always a riot. Good snow. Long runs.
Beautiful day out on the slopes! Worth the drive because when you arrive you can go right up the lifts! A lot steeper than sunshine so a tough day for a skier if you were out yesterday for the first time. But heaps of runs you can switch between. Good food and atmosphere in the lodge for food or drinks after you’re done for the day too :) One day buddy pass was $93
Lake Louise ski resort is kind of small, and is not very good for beginners eh? Oui Oui. They do have some fun obstacle courses though. But you need to watch out in the spring, as there are some spots that are thawed out at the bottom of the mountain and can catch the front of your skis. (I took this photo on the top of a ski slope)
Decent conditions for early season with 3 inches of snow during the day. Excellent selection of brews on tap.
Backside hero snow that is on steep runs combined with breathtaking beautiful views makes this a premier ski resort. A must ski mountain.
