We began the process of building our home last year. Site clearing complete, permits pulled and floor plan selected, our vision was to do as much of this as we could ourselves. Recognizing a need for an expert in the area of design to tie our vision together we were referred to Studio 853 by a reputable builder. From their initial greeting (over email) to our face to face meeting we knew we found the right firm to bring our vision together. Chantale is passionate, dedicated and experienced. Chantale is a professional and a far cry from your typical "recent college grad in home design", "go check out Housz" and Pinterest expert, Chantale takes the time to get to know you, your vision, your hopes. With experience in markets outside Ottawa (thankfully) her perspective is wide open. Chantale never imposed a vision, never asked us to "see it her way", Chantale is an expert and making YOUR home YOUR way. Chantale has a knack for fostering the creative process. All that said made it very difficult to ultimately choose a different direction in actually bringing our concept to design. I have no doubt had we retained Studio 853 to do the design and help us through the building process we would have had one heck of a house. The decision was not at all a result of factors in Studio 853's control, we selected a different builder (a husband and wife team), where one design and one builds. At this high calibre, top notch and quality level where Studio 853 operates it makes it very difficult to pick one firm over another. Our decision was based on a recent project undertaken by the builder we selected and again was totally outside the control of Studio 853. I have no hesitation is recommending this firm and Chantale for any future project, when landscaping times comes (in a couple years) I know who I will be calling. Do not hesitate to consider Studio 853 for your design needs, they will blow you away.
