I enjoyed working with Moneca Kaiser Design Build and her team. She is very professional and personable and listened well to my design and build needs. I really appreciated her creative design process as it gave me a new and improved perspective on my renovation project. I look forward to working with her again in the future! Update in August 2019 a possible new project for a coach house build, but found it would have been to costly and also because of uncertain go aheads of city permits, we had to rethink and cancel the project. Monica was open to meet and explore and gave us some basic ideas but to go forward that comes at a cost that we did not want to risk to work on a project that the city would not allow . it would of been nice to have a less expensive designer referral to do a small reno that would fit our needs. All and all Monica seem to have a good process to qualify Jobs.

Although, it is just the beginning of the project, I am excited and looking forward to the creative process and would recommend this truly visionary and responsible designer already. I contacted Moneca directly at MKDB and received some creative and sound advice for my kitchen renovation. Moneca is generous with her insight and was very helpful in visualizing our dream kitchen. Without a doubt, her expertise in home renovations and interior design speaks volumes. I would recommend hiring MKDB for any project in the home or office. Very innovative thinkers who respect space, people and the environment! This Ottawa ON (Kanata) resident is very impressed!! The capital of Canada is lucky to have such talent. MKDB equals artistry at its best. It would be un-Canadian of us to keep MKDB all to ourselves!

Didn’t even receive a call back to discuss the project - received a refusal email instead. Looks like even 50K projects aren’t big enough for this group. Edit: Contacted 2 wks later by email following initial post to discuss project & remove negative review. Positive google reviews is why I initially wanted to hire this company. Thanks but already found someone. 2 stars for trying to reach out.

Our more than a century old house was looking drab and required a significant redesign to give it more life and curb appeal. We had a great experience working with MKDB in the past for our interior renovations and were excited to work with them again on our new project. We hired MKDB to redesign the front of the house and to build and managed the actual renovations. We found the staff to be very knowledgeable, courteous and great listeners. They sat down with us to hear our ideas and came back with a design that truly elevated the look of our home's exterior facade, roofline and front porch, They made sure that we were fully aware of the cost of the project and any potential costs that could arise, so that we did not have to worry about additional costs after the project started. Like the previous renovation with them, they came in on time and on budget, just like they promised. We very highly recommend working with them.

We worked with MKDB on a major kitchen renovation project in April 2015. We also had the floor on the second level of our home reinstalled with cork along with some minor renovations to one of the bedrooms. We are not handy people so it was important for us to get a sense of being able to trust the person who would handle the project. Moneca met this need and so much more. Moneca spent time with us to understand the how, why and what we were trying to change in our home. We felt at ease after our first meeting with her, when she dissuaded us from renovating our staircase (which she was prepared to do if we insisted) as she felt that it would not further our vision, particularly in view of how much it would cost. We really appreciated this advice as it demonstrated to us that she cared about the project not only aesthetically but also from a practical and budget perspective. As in any renovation project, there were glitches along the way, such as difficulty acquiring the right type of materials, determining that something could not be installed the way it was envisioned etc. Moneca was always quick to come up with alternative viable suggestions, while keeping the original design in mind. She is creative with solutions to problems, all while making you feel included in the problem solving process. Moneca treats the project like it is a renovation of her own home. She is quality conscious and was not satisfied until we were and more significantly, until she herself was happy with the end result. The team that Moneca works with was also wonderful. They were always pleasant, courteous and worked hard to complete the project within the proposed time frame. We would retain MKDB again in a heartbeat for any future projects. Vasu and Shiv
