One of my favorite stores to visit. It has everything I love under one roof. This is my go to store when I need a gift for my mom who has elegant taste. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! This store has something everyone would enjoy. The lady who works here adds the perfect touch to my visits. She's so friendly and helpful. It's always a welcoming experience visiting this store.

A Let Down. I was so excited to find this decor shop in downtown Kingston, as I prefer to shop locally instead of at big box stores. I found a great faux fiddle leaf tree and tried it out in the space I was looking to fill in my bedroom. After trying it here and several other locations I decided I wanted to return it. I called several times last week to try and make sure I would be able to return it, as this tree is about 6' tall and is very difficult to transport. I finally left a voicemail on their machine on Sunday. They got back to me on Monday saying I would need the receipt and in 15 days of purchasing. At the time I couldn't find the receipt, but went searching and found it. My boyfriend took the first part of the morning off work to help me transport it, as we both work until 6:00pm (when the store closes). When I brought it in the sale person said we also needed an additional receipt that had some 25 digit code on it. She showed us an example of one at the cash, which was stapled to the credit receipt. My receipt had no staple marks in it, and we inquired as to why mine may have not been stapled as well- also why I was not told about this particular receipt I needed. Mine says "Amanda's House of Elegance" on it and shows the price of the item. I don't think it was fair to turn us away. I must say, I was extremely disappointed in the service. This item was almost $300.00. I am clearly a potential customer that is willing to buy high end items. I would have expected better service and more willingness from the staff to satisfy the customer. Though I prefer to shop locally, I will not be returning to this store. I can't see how this business could ever compete with stores like Homesense (which has a 30 day return policy) or Pier 1 (which has a 45 day return policy) with no hassle and additionally has much more competitive pricing.

Such a beautiful boutique! A gorgeous selection of gifts, jewellery, accessories and home goods. A pleasure to shop at. Amazing, helpful and friendly staff. This boutique is a must see in Kingston. Don't walk ... run :)

I always like to visit Amanda’s shop when I need a unique gift or a new design piece for my house. I love the jewelry as well. She is so knowledgeable and hand picks her pieces that show case the artists she chooses. Price points are very reasonable. Keep in mind you are supporting local when shopping at stores like this. Can’t wait to slide by again soon for new Christmas ornaments and gifts. Keep up the great work Amanda. In my opinion these 1-star reviews are fake, so pay no attention to them.

Altogether a terrible experience. I was in with my friend and fell in love with a ring that was gold plated. I explained to the owner that I could only wear silver and not fake jewelry. She told me that she could order the ring in silver. She called me to tell me that it was ready for pick up and I could prepay over the phone. Which I did, in good faith. After I picked up the ring and took it home, I noticed that there was no 925 stamp and emailed asking about the material. Amanda explained that it was not sterling silver, despite that this was what I had asked for. I was shocked that I had spent $45 on a fake silver ring and that she did not provide me with the product I had requested and yet paid for. When I asked about the return policies, of which the website says 15 days for ANY item (no exemption on jewelry) I was told that there were no returns due to COVID as printed on my receipt *AGAIN, which I PREPAID.* I explained that this was a miscommunication on her end and that a concession to this rule needs to be made. After several back and forth email communications, she did not concede. I will no longer be supporting this local business and I hope you think twice about giving this store any business based on this negative interaction. At a time when small businesses are struggling, you would think that customer service would be a priority. Now I will be purchasing the real silver ring for $50 from Pandora and throwing out this piece of junk. ______________________________________________________________ In reply to the owner's post below, I made my sensitivities to fake jewlery clear in the store when I was looking at the item, the materials were NOT made clear upon my purchase NOR was the return policy. You told me you could get me a silver ring. At no point did you say alluminum or nickel ring -- you said silver. For $45, it is not inconceivable for me to believe that this ring wasn't real. If you're not a jewlery store (your words above), then perhaps you shouldn't sell jewlery. Furthermore, the return policy on the website was different from the policy on the receipt. I explained in my email (which you have described as "threatening") that all I wanted was to return the product. Because you did not allow this, I posted a negative Google review which is a common response to poor customer service. There is no mending this relationship and I will never be shopping at your house of "elegance" again. And Pandora actually has a beautiful STERLING SILVER ring for $50 -- $65 with tax. I am happy to pay this money for QUALITY, not trash. Again, in GOOD FAITH I prepaid and there was NO conversation from you about materials or return policies. You completely deceived me. There is no mending this relationship and I hope that other people on this page will see that supporting your business is a step in the wrong direction.

Charming and Elegant !! If you’re also a home decor stuff lover like me then this store is a must visit. Situated right in downtown Kingston, the store offers everything home decor ranging from candles to throws to art pieces, crystal ornaments etc. They also keep jewelry. I loved the collection of pillows and throws. I bought a Christmas guy, he’s super cute and it was on discount so costed me around $6. The lady who helped me at the store was also really generous

The owner is exceptionally kind and welcomes all members of the Kingston community. While Canadian made, the store’s pieces speak to all decorators and locals. Amanda's House of Elegance always has the exact "special something" I'm looking for when I'm shopping around for a gift. Their staff are so lovely and helpful too. As an out and proud gay woman, I was really happy to see their beautiful Pride month storefront display. Even when it was vandalized by a horrible person, the store owners acted with grace and say they'll be extending the time the storefront display is up. Discrimination?! I stopped by downtown Kingston on the way to my trip and decided to drop in this store. The girl behind the counter never acknowledged (not even a "Hi") me and my boyfriend who happened to be POC, yet she was very eager to greet 2 caucasian customers walked in 3 seconds after us. She walked by us several times during our 20mins in the store, however she only provided service to other people, meanwhile we didn't even get a "are you doing ok" let alone any customer service. As a small local business as they claim to be, maybe they should not be too discriminating towards customers, either by ethnicities, looks, ages or whatever. Cheers!

Amanda's House of Elegance is a beautiful store right in the heart of downtown Kingston. I was highly impressed with the quality of the merchandise within this store. All items in the store are clearly high end, designer products that anyone would be thrilled to own. I recently purchased a beautiful new throw from Spain that was a lovely edition to my living room decor. I also purchased new feather down throw pillows to spruce up my living space for Christmas. Overall I was amazed by the variety and quality within the store and also by the friendliness and expertise of Amanda as soon as I walked into her store. Amazing customer service. I follow Amanda’s house of Elegance on Facebook. Seen a post in my news feeds last night for the final home game of the Kingston Frontenacs that they were offering 2 FREE tickets . I inquired about them. When I was contacted back by them did we not only just get 2 we ended up with 6 FREE tickets to the game such an AMAZING generous gift to be given out. So we ended up taking our family of four and giving two away at the game by paying it forward. This is always nice to be kind and share with others. Plus the Fronts won 5-3 it was a great game . Looking forward to shopping in the beautiful store this weekend. Thanks again for the opportunity of have a night out with our family all together it doesn’t happen that often . Happy St . My girlfriend and I were in the store browsing around when she found a painting she loved for our living room. The sales person (I think it was the owner) was very helpful taking measurements and giving us all the information we needed. Since my girlfriend has a birthday coming up I wanted to surprise her with it so I was trying to discreetly signal to the salesperson that I would be buying it in secret. The sales person went way out of her way to help me , I was blown away! First , she stayed after closing so that I could come back to the store (after I dropped my gf off at her appointment) to pay and pick it up, then when I got there is was beautifully wrapped with ribbons and bows for me, and then my gf went back the next morning to purchase the painting the sales person continued with a well put together story of it being sold to another lady helping keep my surprise. My gf was blown away when she opened her bday gift! I don't normally write reviews, but I have to say, the customer service was beyond what I would have ever expected. We will absolutely be coming back and telling everyone to shop here.

Stopped in with my partner as this place had fairly good reviews. They have some unique pieces but I was very surprised how overpriced everything was and will not be back. If you feel like spending double compared to other options to shop...this is the place for you!
