I've worked with Matt Gladwin and Sequoia TreeScape on several occasions and I highly recommend him. He has provided expert advice as well as both trimmed and removed trees on my property. I have recommended his services to friends, neighbors and co-workers and everyone is thrilled with his pricing and service. His prices are far more reasonable than any of the big name Arborists in Toronto who gouge and rip home owners off... especially during the ice storm of Xmas 2013. The crew arrived on the scheduled date. Before starting they reviewed safety procedures on the operation & usage of the chain saw. They created a plan on the best way to remove the 30 foot Spruce tree that was next to a shed. During the entire process of removing the tree, not a single branch fell on the shed. All parts of the tree removed, stumped ground down and the work site cleaned up. Start to finish 3 hours. I would use their service again and definitely recommend Sequoia TreeScape

Had Matt and his team pruned a 30+ year old maple tree in our backyard. It grows a bit too close the our house and becomes too big and dense. It survived this year's ice storm but makes us worry about future ones. We took Matt's suggestion and had some of the branches removed so that it stays further from our house and can have more sunlight and wind going through. They did a nice and professional job. They collected all the branches that they removed as well as those fell off before and cleaned our backyard and deck.

My mom had a very large job to be done. 3 large cedar hedges to be trimmed and 3 VERY large spruce trees to be taken down. I have a large multi-trunk maple where water and debris collects in a pocket where 3 of the trunks meet causing a potential rotting problem. I was concerned that this rot may cause one of the trunks to break away and fall onto an adjacent public walkway and destroy the neighbour's shed and fence. I was prepared to spend $500-1000 to mitigate the risk but when Sequoia came to provide an estimate, they advised me the tree was very healthy and not at risk of trunk failure in the near future. No charge!

He and his employee worked quickly and efficiently to complete the work and then cleaned up nicely afterward. His rates are reasonable and he comes promptly and works skillfully. Matt came close to midnight before Good Friday to assess the ice damaged trees on our cars. Made arrangements to come on Good Friday (in the afternoon after church) and remove enough branches to allow the cars to be moved and reviewed for damage. The rest cleared away by Monday. Their careful, conscientious, professionalism showed in every step of the process. Difficult working conditions with a smiling positive attitude the whole time. Matt, Craig and the whole Sequoia TreeScape team did an awesome job of removing a HUGE (“big bugger”as Matt called it) spruce tree from our small backyard and also two other trees on our property. Not only did they remove three trees but used the stump grinder for the stump removal. You wouldn’t even know a tree used to be there. The cutting/lowering of the top of the spruce was a sight to see. In addition to the removals, our magnolia and birch trees were trimmed. They look fantastic. Craig, Matt and their team were Great! They were in touch with us quickly and arranged an estimate within an hour. We had been "putting off" dealing with numerous huge limbs from a neighbour's enormous Siberian Elm trees just on his side of the property line next to our driveway. Some were hanging way over our roof and many over our driveway. We were concerned about vehicle/roof damage in the event of a bad wind or ice storm. Great company to do business with. Our backyard neighbour had huge Manitoba Maples and the massive branches were growing over our backyard. In a bad storm they would have crashed over our shed and possibly our deck doing considerable damage. Matt Gladwin, owner, gave us a quote to chop 3 branches. He really knows his trees. He advised us to let the tree owners know about our intention, which other landscapers did not do. Matt and his crew did the job in 2 hours, cleaned up all the debris. Left us with wood for the fireplace as well as wood chips for smoking. No job is too big, nor too small for that matter. All the 5 star ratings are the real deal. Great communication and very prompt. They took a very large silver maple from our backyard and having a pool, the leaves and shade were quite a hindrance. The tree was removed and cleaned up, unfortunately our pool equipment sits right under the tree and a limb must have come down and cracked a plastic pipe without their knowledge. We notified Matt over the weekend and he and his team came first thing Monday morning and fixed the broken PVC connector. Extremely professional and fantastic guys to work with. Removing a few sick trees and pruning significantly nice old trees such as a 100 years old Sugar Maple. It is like a brand new yard now. Craig & his crew arrived at 8:00 a.m. as they said they would. They removed 5 dead Emerald cedar trees and planted one new one. Along with other work requested (stone border edging, trimming existing trees and adding mulch throughout the entire area) they completed the job in the time they prescribed and did a thorough clean up of the area. We'd had kind of a negative experience with another local arborist in 2017, so this time we chose Sequoia to do the job for us. Matt and his crew went about the job in a very professional, organized way and got it done, including the grinding of both stumps, in about three hours. They did a good job of cleaning up after themselves as well, and charged a very fair price.
