Mike just finished our kitchen reno (ahead of schedule) and we are thrilled with the final result. His contributions through the design phase were invaluable and he tactfully steered us in the right direction in our decision making. Mike's creativity with some special features demonstrates his love for his work, and his craftsmanship was clearly evident in the implementation of the project. His selection and coordination of the trades was much appreciated and his calm demeanor in the face of the inevitable 'hiccups' made the whole process enjoyable. Mike is a true professional, but feels more like the guy next door than a contractor. Both he (and Liz!) are a joy to work with and we look forward to future interactions. Cheers… !! :-)

Michael is a talented designer and builder. We had a bar, a barn door and two walls of unique bookcases installed. He did an excellent job and was very responsive to any changes we wanted. At one point we had some difficulty with some wood warping on the barn door (through no fault of Michael's) and he replaced the entire door to ensure a good finished product. We are highly satisfied with the finished job. If you want a standard, boring, cheaply finished job don't go to Michael Ford, but if you want something original that stands out and is admired by all who see it, Michael's your man. Liz, his wife, was also very pleasant and responsive every step of the way.

Michael Ford Designs build intriguing and west coast styled custom kitchens and furniture. We have used Michael on two occasions, once to add a shower to a small downstairs bathroom and the second time to make a beautiful live edge table. On both occasions we found him to be professional, highly skilled, creative and caring about the quality of his work. I cannot praise Michael Ford enough for his craftsmanship and friendly approach. The attention to detail he gave our live edge table, in particular, is mind blowing. It is the first thing anyone sees when they walk into our home and their first reaction is always wow - where can I get one of those! As for the shower, which he put into our previous home, it captured the west coast feel perfectly, right down to the tiles. I have recommend Michael before and I will do again! I’ve not worked with Liz directly but have had the opportunity to meet her during a visit to the Michael Ford shop, she seemed really nice and cared as much about the product as Michael did himself.

Mike was hands on, knowledgeable and informative at every step of the process, from design to assembly. He thoughtfully engaged with us early on and helped us design our entire kitchen from floors, to counters to cabinets, to appliances. He provided us with professional blueprints so that we could understand what needed to be done, which goes a long way when taking on a big kitchen renovation. Mike and his company take quality seriously and we are very happy with the end result. High quality, hand made cabinets, top of the line hardware, hinges, and drawers. Don’t waste your time with cheap cabinets from big box stores. We can tell these cabinets and the kitchen will last a lifetime. He added numerous customizations to our kitchen, with very little impact on overall cost. He did a great job helping us design and build a high quality, stylish and affordable kitchen.

Gorgeous craftsmanship. This is punching above in quality and Mike is 100% TLC in his work - there's nothing better than working directly a pro woodworker and designer who is also the owner (Mike is a kitchen designer+++). Unlimited options for custom cabinet doors - we explored everything from super modern to traditional and loved Mike's aesthetic/designs. If its "what's on the inside" that counts, Mike's kitchens have the most well-built cabinet boxes imaginable (dove-tailing, solid maple, ultra thick bases, perfectly smooth and strong drawer tracks). Couldn't have found a better guy to transform our kitchen.

Michael brings his love of craft and professional design to all of his projects. He loves what he does and it is apparent in his work. I ordered his BEETBOX audio boxes, (which are a great way to provide audio from smartphone without using electronics) for all of my family members and they arrived quickly and were beautifully made.
