Beautiful windows on a mobile home! Great install team. The trim guy did a fantastic job on the inside casings. We saved a ton of money in our budget when we realized the interior trim and labour was part of the price and the exterior didn't need additional trim because the window itself a had wide casing. 5 STARS!

Can I give Modern Windows 10 Stars? What an outstanding experience from start to finish with this company! From initial consultation with Dave…who listened to my ideas and gave me suggestions for maximum efficiency and design that I hadn’t thought of…to the friendly and efficient office staff that kept me in the loop for my order and installation…and then to installation day with Ryan and Tom who were so professional, thoughtful and talented!! They worked so hard to have the entire job done in two days….15 large windows and a huge sliding door…all installed, trimmed inside and out, and cleaned to a sparkling finish! And the product!!! These beautiful windows have totally transformed my 1968 home into a palace!! They are so stunning…I couldn’t be more pleased if you gave me a handful of diamonds! Some other major bonuses to these windows that I noticed instantly…I slept better last night because everything was so quiet! No outside noise…and my noisy furnace which usually goes on and off regularly to maintain a level heat…didn’t have to do that! All I can say is WOW!! And THANK YOU so much to Dave and his awesome crew!!! Y’all ROCK!!!

We rebuilt our deck and had Modern handle the new vinyl installation. The new deck looks great! We finished up the new railings ourselves (still a little work to go!) and combined with the new vinyl are very happy with the entire project. If I were to offer some criticism it is that they were typically slow to respond to email, sometimes with delays over a week. This did not ultimately change the install date, and was not a big enough deal to remove any stars from this rating, but if you require an immediate response I suggest phoning rather than email.

We had a horriable experience with courtenay store , they are very disingenious Derek, Pete and the general Manger Dave and because of these 3 it cost us an extra $776 Also when we ordered our windows in June to be installed for September none of our screens came so we had to wait over 6 weeks for screens and the floor lock for the Patio. We also were charged the final payment with out be told and with out the work being completed which is in there contract that final payment will be made when work is complete. You are all very disingenious and those 3 men know it.

The prices were great (matched the quote to the penny), the installer (Dave, I believe) was friendly, the work was done quickly, completed before the expected timeline they gave us, and the window product is AMAZING. They took away all the old material and all we had to do was vacuum a bit of dust after the installation! We're very satisfied and will be using them for all our future window projects!

Would I recommend MODERN? Absolutely!! Twenty years ago MODERN put the gutters on my new building. Eleven years ago, I had six Windows, a patio railing with glass inserts and a patio roof and posts done. Those items look as good and perform as well now as the day they they were installed. Pete just finished installing a set of French doors to the patio. I told Dave what I wanted. He gave suggestions as to my options. We discussed the pros and cons as to cost effectiveness, maintainance, looks, energy efficiency and material used in construction. They were put in last week. I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY WITH THEM!!! I see another long term, MODERN, relationship in my future. Thank you Dave and Peter. Professional, helpful, courteous ... jobs well done from start to clean-up finish.

I had the pleasure of Modern Windows, Courtenay,B.C. install our windows in our home, from the first initial visit from Dave to measure and do a quote, to the two gentlemen installers, Ryan and Tom I believe were their names, were by far the most honest people I have had the pleasure of dealing with. When they were installing the windows they made sure my two furry guys didn’t escape, they were extremely neat and tidy, no mess left from their cleanup and very friendly,personable, mannerly and most of all respectful! I would recommend this company and would have no problem getting them again! Tanis was very helpful in the showroom and Jolene was accommodating with working around my schedule!!

These guys are a joke, Absolute waste of my time and his I guess. Derek came to look at giving us quotes on Duradek, Windows and Doors for a renovation. He came on a Tuesday, said he would get us a quote by Friday....or the following Monday, I said OK. it seemed like a long time for a quote on 10 Windows and a Duradek price, given he measured everything when he was here. I called on the Wednesday and no record of any quote in the system. The nice person on the phone said Derek and Bill were there, and she would ask him about the quote. Derek didn't even have the courtesy to pick up the phone and apologize for the delay, and just passed onto the person on the phone that he was working on it. Whatever..... I was warned about them, Should have listened, i guess. I cancelled the request for quote. IF its this prompt for a quote, imagine what service I would have received if I had pulled the trigger. Sad service.

I have been using Modern window since the 80s. All my homes have had Modern's windows. Even shipped them out to Alberta in the 90s for our house. Now my daughter's house has all new Modern windows. I just ordered three more for my parent's home. If it wasnt for Dave I'm not sure where I would go. Love this company. Great products!

Some one star reviews and five star reviews. Unfortunately ours is a one star review. Things started out well. We stopped in for some info and arranged to have a quote done that week. Bill came out and measured and supplied us a quote on November 5. There were a few mistakes with the quote so got a new quote on November 8 and we called in a deposit that day. The estimated time to do the job was roughly 3 weeks away. So time goes by and we hear nothing. I contact them on Dec. 2 to get an update, but was told the scheduling person was out, but would get back to me. So I waited...again. No reply so once again I contacted them on Dec. 12. I got a phone call back and a bunch of, for lack of better words, excuses. I was then promised that I would get a call back that day, probably quite quickly as the manager was out for about 1/2 hour. Looked like they had an opening for this week...the week of Dec. 17. Well you may not be surprised to hear, but once again I received no call back (today is Dec. 18) and they will be closing on Dec. 21 for the holidays. I thought that we were still supposed to be in the "honeymoon" phase of our relationship...after all they haven't even installed our windows yet. If I could start all over again I wouldn't be going with Modern. I can live with hiccups and delays as long as I am kept in the loop. However a complete lack of communication and the consistent inability to keep simple promises (like calling me back) is not an indicator of what I would call a reputable company. I hope we get our windows at some point and that they don't leak. At this time, however, I'm not hopeful.

I had this company install dura deck on my back deck. Due to high demand, it took a few months for the instal to be scheduled. Ryan, the installer, was fantastic! Always professional and courteous, his meticulous attention to detail resulted in a beautiful deck that should be around for the next few decades. I am very satisfied with the end result and would highly recommend this company if you are looking to have Dura deck installed.

Poor craftmenship! All the windows and patio doors that they installed all leak! They eventually came and fix the leaks by just caulking the mouldings.

Recently put an extension on my back deck and they joined the product to the current deck. Installer was great did an awesome job and really knew what he was doing. Very happy as always. My girlfriend and I selected Modern because of a stellar reputation, but our experience was exactly the opposite. The first day of the install, a woman showed up distraught, looking for the previous owner. The installers gave her my GF’s work location, where she went. They would later say they thought the woman knew her, but this was not the case, as they had also said my GF would be easy to spot. The state of the house was very disappointing. There was dust everywhere. Though they were installing a window 2ft from a bookshelf, they hadn't bothered to cover it. Dust was all over dozens of small items-- very time-consuming to clean. In another room, a box of small, valuable items was covered-- we had to borrow an air compressor from a friend. The installers had draped our hand-knit wool blanket over the couch, meaning they knew _something_ should cover it, but didn’t have that item (dropsheet). Several of our dishtowels were soaked & covered in sawdust, and the bathtub had lots of dust and shavings. The mess in the house indicated a lack of foresight and disregard for the space. A few days later, when spraying some cobwebs, a significant amount of water leaked into the window. My girlfriend phoned July 9 and spoke with Dave Eliason, general manager and part owner, telling him about all the issues. He said he would address them. Meantime, the 2nd CC payment, which she was told would not be charged until her concerns were addressed, posted. We didn’t hear from Dave, so I emailed him on the 18th, reiterating our concerns. He said he had been waiting for pictures of the leak; I immediately sent a video, then another on July 23 when I didn’t hear back. He replied he hadn't received the 1st email but didn’t have the drivers for the video, and that he might need to it in person. Dave came by on Aug 1 to look at the window (he said that he had to see it in person anyway-- so why the pics?). He said someone would be by to fix the leak that week. This person (different installer) showed up unannounced on Aug 3, the 2nd time Modern installers had come without scheduling (the 1st was the 1st day of work). I told this installer I hadn't tested the other windows. That's okay, was his response, he could "see it". I wonder why the other 2 installers couldn't. Based on ongoing sour experiences I emailed Dave Aug 3 relaying the event, and saying his response to our concerns was unacceptable. It took him until Aug 8 to respond; he said he would be away until Aug 14 and would issue a credit and “get back to you as soon as I can." That happened 6 days after his return on Aug 20. Dave offered my GF a $300 refund on the job (later increased to $400), which on an almost $9000 install does not seem sufficient our hours of extra work and the fact that getting any response from him was difficult. Yes, you read the timeline right-- it took almost a month and a half for Modern's general manager and part owner to address the concerns of a disappointed customer who had spent a major amount of money with them. A drywalling contractor later made drastically less mess than Modern had, even though he was cutting, mudding, and sanding, which showed us how a contractor should take care in a home, which Modern hadn't. Modern's contract stated they would "take proper care and attention to your surroundings", so they did not fulfill the work they agreed to do. The office communicates poorly, the quality of work of their "lead installer" as identified by their GM is poor, and customer service even at the level of General Manager and owner is terrible. Based on our experience, I would never recommend Modern to anyone. **edit to respond to below: Dave shouldn't be surprised, as his service was slow and his attitude felt dismissive. talking about bad service after the fact does nothing. **later noticed 2 screws improperly installed: 1 had so much play it could be moved from side to side with a slight touch. this, as installed by their "lead installer"

We recently had Modern supply and install Duradek, Larry did a great job on the installation and the deck looks really nice. Last year we had Modern replace all the windows in our home. They were very accommodating in working out the installation around my husband's heart surgery. Ryan and his crew were very courteous and did a super job. We love our new windows, our home is much quieter, warmer in the window and cooler in the summer. We had one window with faulty glass and they came and changed it out no problem. We definitely recommend Modern. Everyone from start to finish was friendly, reliable and efficient..
