We are so happy with the flooring we purchased from Home Hardware. We went to several places and with the selection, price and customer service we decided on HH. Bev was right on top of our order from the beginning to the end following up with any questions we had. The flooring was quickly ordered and the installation was on time. Matt was a professional installer and worked all day with hardly a pause painstakingly matching the colours of our trim. We hope to purchase more of this flooring from Home Hardware in the future.

We bought over 100 edging bricks for our backyard garden. The workers out in the yard were very courteous and helpful. They made every effort to make sure our purchase was packaged up nicely and then used the forklift to make sure it was loaded into our truck past the rear axel of my truck. We were very happy with the whole experience and recommend them to anyone looking to do yard upgrades and need supplies, also the bricks were 25% off too.

Central builders stocks a broad array of items for the do it yourselfer, but not a lot of choice of each item. They seem to be more oriented to the commercial trade. Probably the least friendly of the hardware stores in the Comox Valley. Not unfriendly, but I have never had anyone ask me if they could help me as I wandered the aisles looking for an obscure part. And asking for help at the counter I have always felt that I was interrupting something. I bought a couple of windows here, and they were very professional and knowledgeable but brusque. Maybe a pro builder would have a better experience.

Beware check your receipt!!! I bought a roll of stucco wire 48inches x 112’ and was charged $89.99 instead of the displayed price of $79.99. After waiting in line and wasting 20 minutes of my valuable time and getting my money returned I was surprised that they don’t participate in the scanner code of ethics program which means they can rip off customers without any consequences. Not impressed!

I couldn't find what I was looking for. Customer service was helpful, and I ended up talking with someone in the windows and doors department. He helped me figure out what I needed, and then sent me somewhere else in town to find it because they didn't carry it. I really appreciate how they take time to listen.

I went to return 12 metal hangers but displaced my receipt, I assumed that would not be a problem since I had an account and spent $1000 every month, I knew the date of purchase. There where 3 employees behind the customer service desk, non busy. I was told that without receipt I couldn't be helped and then the employee added in particular with you coming in here with this bag, I looked and realized that I put these item in to the nearest bag I had in the workshop and it was a Home Depot bag. Nice touch guys I guess you don't care about my $1000 charge monthly. I will close my account.

Paid $800 for a door. Less than two years after they installed it, it is falling off the hinges. They refuse to fix it. They say that it is normal to have to take it off the hinges every two years and squish the hinges in a vice to realign them. Seriously?

Went here on monday was looking to buy a new lawn mower and shopped the 3 big box stores (Home Hardware, Home Depot, Canadian Tire), of the three Home Hardware had an embarassing selection of lawn mowers, last time I checked it was July middle of summer you would think now is the time to have an inventory of yard equipement. No one came to ask if we needed help or how we were doing, flagged one man down and he was friendly when we talked said anything can be ordered in within a couple of weeks.

The team in doors is knowledgeable and professional. They helped us towards achieving our vision and the interior/exterior door package is top notch in quality and pricing. They have gone above and beyond in customer service to boot. Can’t say enough good things! Highly recommended!

This is one of the nicest home hardware i have been to in the country ( besides Niagara on the lake). *Good staff ( other then most of lumber that grumpy lot needs replacing so does the lazy flooring department chairs are to comfortable to get up from and walk 2 feet) plenty of selection/items not sold else where etc. Staff are very helpful and friendly as can be and they make a point to get special orders in store as fast as possible. Even thought they went through massive renovations every one was super helpful and i give a huge hat off to the contractors who pulled off Reno's in a operational store without-shutting it down or creating too much chaos

I have been waiting for my special order of eyelet screws since November. Over 2 months of waiting and I haven't heard a thing. Followed up multiple times and got brushed off everytime. So I went to Windsor Plywood who ordered them for me on the spot, were WAY more competent and pleasant to deal with. Clearly Central Builders is too good for my money (that was sarcasm).

Mixed bag on this place... 1 star for cranky staff in flooring who thought it was a real bother to answer questions about tiles. Yeah, I'll take my $3000 flooring buy as far away from Home Hardware as possible, thanks very much! but... 5 stars for the guy in rentals who gave me loads on info.
