I went in on a Sunday with my wife to shop for a patio door. The gentleman who served us and made up our quote said I should call tomorrow and speak to Matt since he was changing departments and wanted to make sure we ordered through someone who works in the windows and doors department. Sounds good. Call the next day and order the door. He tells me over the phone I can come in and pay for the door. I go in, no one can find any paperwork about my order. I put the money on my account for now. They call me and schedule a delivery date and time frame. The day of delivery I waited at home all morning, called them and asked if the door would still be delivered. “Yes, soon” they say. I get called 20 mins and told they won’t be delivering due to theft of patio doors and hardware, not to worry they say. It’s an in stock item and they should have one for me in a week or so. The following Saturday they deliver the door. No paperwork from them for me to sign, no invoice (I’m partly to blame for that, I should have asked when they delivered) My contractor comes by to install the door. We unwrap the door and ready to put it in the hole, we find a large crack in the frame, right were there’s a knot. Kind of hard to fix that. They were closed at that time so I had to call the next day which was a Friday. The salesman who sold me the door was off and wouldn’t be back until Tuesday. I speak with the manager who cannot find a record of me buying the door or being invoiced for it. She says she’ll look into it and call me back... that was last Friday. She never called back. First thing Tuesday I call and talk to Matt. Explain to him the situation, he has a talk with the dept manager, he offers to add some cladding to cover it up. I prefer having a replacement door. I asked if I could have some money back on the door to compensate for the trouble. They refuse, they also refuse to remove the door for me. I ask again for some money back so I could give my contractor some extra money for having to come back and do the job all over again, my request is refused. This was unacceptable to me and I asked for a manager to call me back. I get a call from Terry who informs me they can’t do anything else for me. I ask for the owner to call me back. The response was shocking “I’ve been in contact with the owner, he’s aware of the situation and I’ve been authorized to deal with this issue and we will not be able to offer you anything off the price of the door” I ask multiple times to have the owner call me since he wasn’t in... that was on Wednesday of last week... he has not returned my calls and they would not put me through to him when I insisted I wanted to speak with him. I’m shocked that a business that’s been around since the 20’s would treat a customer in this way, the owner could have at least spoken with me. It’s always better to hear it from the horses mouth. Emards will never see a penny from me again. Rona from now on. Their owner is always available and has no problem helping out his customers and making things right.

I would have given a 0 star review but i couldnt. I ordered my windows and doors through frank they came in a half inch to short on the case and didnt meet up with the drywall. I ask what to do and was given a cheap fix that looks terrible and i was told its not there fault even after i asked them twice about it before i ordered them. Now my brand new house looks terrible i will be buying new windows somewhere else to replace them with no refund from emards

Need help, go in and get answers. Lots of knowledge and advice. Good pricing on most things but if you find it cheaper they we price match. Most of they customers are contractors that know what they want and need, so customer service is a little choppy sometimes but... You'll always get what you need

Great product but absolutely HORRENDOUS installation! Our kitchen cabinets were not installed straight, out by 1/2" top to bottom, they also hung to heavy of doors on tiny hinges and left us with not a care in the world. If you care about your kitchen get someone else to install. -10/10 Rating

Not a man of his word, after purchasing woodstove said they would deliver free of charge, and if the pipes didn't fit could be refunded with no additional cost. Needless to say neither of those happened. Stove is fine but we are unimpressed with the crooked service, and would not recommend to others

We have purchased 2 gas fireplace inserts from Emard Bros in the past few years along with everything else from lumber to gyproc, supporting our locals, Today i had called there to have someone come and do the maintenance on fireplace which we did not purchase there as it came with the house we bought. Marc in his exact words says ``that is a grey area, since we did not purchase the fireplace there, they would not come to do the maintenance on it``. I am Very upset with this local hardware store that i will never go back to buy anything. This is the Service i get for supporting Locals!

The store may be great, but their website is totally out of date it seems. Shows the wrong store hours - I made a special trip yesterday just to find out that the store was closed when it should have been open. Tried to send them a note about that but their contact form on their own website doesn't work either.

I only gave it a four star because when I speak to some of their male employees (not all ) I feel like I’m bothering them and they are disgruntled / grumpy . Couple of my friends who work in the contracting field have made the same comment to me. Overall I will continue to go , but I’ll stay away from some of the grumpier associates.

Where did the service go? I have slowly stopped using Emards mainly due to service. I have walked out multiple times with out my good because of the service frisk having attitude. Aka Danielle.. She is one of the biggest issues at this store her lackadaisical attitude You can tell she has been there too long and no longer cares! She is rude, and flare out told me on my last purchase (after she screwed up) no apology, told me she doesn't care if I buy the product somewhere elts. If she was my employee talking to customers that way, I'd fire her immediately.

So I wanted to have my house sided and I needed quotes like everyone else , so off to Home Depot. I go to see the siding and colours and get prices. I stand in line very quietly and the first guys says can I help you and I said yes. I need a quote on some siding he says well you will have to wait I am serving a contractor. I really don't remember asking him to drop his customer to service me. But anyway he says it's right down that aisle over there and when I come back he asks a young guy, Dakota, to help me. When I ask him to show me and quote me he tells me, well when most people come here they know what they want. "Really", thank you. To the unhelpful people working at the siding department at Home Depot; maybe the garden department could give them some lessons on service. I will shop somewhere else..Now I went to EMARDS ...thank you so much Terry the very professional service. I now know what I want and need and they will get my business. ( shop local it really makes a difference).
