Service was very slow when we visited and the sushi was not fresh. I brought this up to the staff but she said I ordered too much food? We ordered 5 rolls for two people. All the avocados were brown and spring rolls were half cooked, mushy and cold.

(Translated) I give Aki 5 stars because I'm just completely hooked on this place. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the sections allow you to eat in privacy and it greatly reduces the ambient noise. The staff are super friendly, nice smile, they do everything to accomodate us, the owners are really listening to their customers. The place is always very clean and well organized, only downside to the comfort in the sections, it would be a cushion for the back (at worst bring yours). But the food ... everything on the menu is good ... not just good ... but really really good! The plates are super well presented, the ingredients are always fresh, flavors, textures ... it's just perfect! In addition, for those who are in a hurry and still want to eat well, they have a refrigerated counter with all kinds of dishes already ready (sushi, poke bowl, tempura shrimp, spring rolls ...) and everything is fresh of the day! And everything is good ... To have gone to many restaurants, some of which are more chic than others, I do not envy anything to other larger cities! Nothing compares to our Aki ... and they are not cheap ... the plates are full! Often after having a good meal, I have enough leftovers for another meal at home ????☺???? (Original) Je donne 5 étoiles au Aki parce que je suis juste complètement accroc à cet endroit. L'ambiance est très relaxante, les sections permettent de pouvoir manger en toute intimité et ça diminue beaucoup les bruits ambiants. Le personnel est super accueillant, beau sourir, ils font tout pour nous accomoder, les propriétaires sont vraiment à l'écoute de leurs clients. L'endroit est toujours très propre et bien organisé, seul bémol au niveau du confort dans les sections, il faudrait pt un coussin pour le dos (au pire amenez le vôtre). Mais la nourriture...tout dans le menu est bon...pas juste bon...mais vraiment vraiment très bons! Les assiettes sont super bien présentées, les ingrédients sont toujours frais, les saveurs, les textures...c'est simplement parfait! En plus, pour ceux qui sont pressés et veulent quand même bien manger, ils ont un comptoir réfrigéré avec toutes sortes de plats déjà prêts (sushis, poke bowl, crevettes tempura, rouleaux de printemps...) et tout est frais du jour! Et tout est bon... Pour être allée dans beaucoup de restaurants dont certains plus chics que d'autres, je n'envie absoluement rien aux autres plus grandes villes! Rien ne se compare à notre Aki...et ils ne sont pas cheap...les assiettes sont pleines! Souvent après m'être bien régalée, j'ai assez de restants pour un autre repas à la maison ????☺????

I would like to say that I actually ate at this restaurant. I tried, really I did. I drove past the Chaumiere pub, a great place to have a beer and some food with some friends, where the service is friendly and prompt. I also drove past the Coq restaurant where I ate most of my meals while I was in Chibougamau for 3 weeks. Yes I parked my car with anticipation to see what all the fuss was about for this new restaurant. I was going to disappointed. You see, I walked in to an empty restaurant. Ok maybe 4 guys at at table talking, with at least 8 empty tables. I waited a couple of minutes to be told, by the owner I suppose , that there was no room for me because the restaurant is full. Really. 4 guys and 8 empty tables and you can’t find a spot for 1 customer who wants to eat in your restaurant? I thought he was kidding. He wasn’t. His response to me.....a victims of my own success. Apparently his take out order was more than he could handle. Your success would have lasted 5 seconds in Montreal. Best of luck to you, you’re going to need it.
