Gio Amenta is a very talented, innovated designer. Last year he designed an outdoor entertaining area where we now spend so much of our time. I told him what we were looking for and he took those thoughts and turned them into a beautiful Oasis. Gio first designed my apartment 8 years ago and did a fabulous job. His vision for the space was far more creative and fabulous than anything that I could have come up with on my own. Recently I did a full renovation on my apartment and once again Gio was a life saver throughout the process. He was able to give me many helpful tips for the remodel and complete renovation. In the end his advice and design saved me so much money and regret. From elements like bringing the kitchen backsplash to the ceiling, to placement of pot lights, he knew just what to do. He knows the rules of proportion and aesthetics that I wasn’t even aware existed. His vision for the space came to life and the it looks better than I could have imagined. He listened to my opinions and took my personal style into account. There were a few times that I wasn’t sure about his vision but he asked me to trust him. Two examples were throwing natural wood accents into my predominantly white and blue traditional kitchen. He also convinced me to do a darker green on my main bathroom walls with wainscotting. I originally wanted a lighter feel, but I let him loose with the design. The wood in the kitchen is amazing, and that bathroom is the masterpiece of my home now. It is the area that gets the most compliments, second to the kitchen. These turned out to be the things that I like best and I’m so glad that I let him do his thing. I would recommend him as a designer to anyone without hesitation. His understanding of space and colour are amazing. He also is a walking carnival so that really took the edge off during a pretty stressful reno. He kept me laughing and had a clear vision. The only things that I would change about my reno are the few things that I did on my own without listening to his advice. I’m so glad that I only did this a few times and it showed me just how much I actually needed him. Thanks Gio! You saved me and gave me a stunning place to live.
