Our project was designed exactly to our taste and functionality, down to the smallest detail. Multiple clients had used Maven's design services over the years and I was most impressed with their creative spacial design and the diversity of work that I observed, from classic to contemporary. Many designers reflect a personal style in their work that becomes almost identifiable. It was clear to me that Nicala and Danielle listened and created from their clients' perspective. We downsized to a neighbourhood that we love but weren't in with our home. With Maven's assistance, we explored the possibility of an upper floor addition but confirming that a re-zone would be required we decided to work with the existing space. Nicala and Danielle guided us through careful conversation to determine our priorities and preferences and then went into the planning and pricing stage being ever mindful of our taste, budget and schedule. I recall our first visit to Island Flooring where the girls' unveiled their recommended finish schedule and we couldn't believe it - they nailed it! We loved almost everything they had chosen with the few exceptions being immediately met with quick alternatives that satisfied perfectly. Demolition began and we were grateful for their project management expertise from the start to an “almost-on-schedule-and-on-budget” finish (which NEVER happens!). The few unforseen obstacles that came up were handled quickly, professionally and with skilfull communication between the suppliers, trades and ourselves; we felt that we were always very well heard, respected and represented. AND we had FUN!! The outcome was even better than anticipated...Nicala and Danielle have created a space that we love to be in.

It was fortuitous that my husband & I met Nicala 2 yrs ago when we decided to downsize from 3500 sq ft to 2400sqft. We had finally found our retirement home , however, it was very dated and was in need of a major renovation. We hired Nicala to design our new 2400sq ft space, we knew we wanted a modern contemporary look but that was all we knew. Nicala was able to provide us with designs that we fell in love with. I just loved working with Nicala, she is very personable, easy to work with and clearly very passionate about her chosen profession. Nicala is an artist and it shows in her designs, we were so impressed with her attention to detail and very groovy sense of style. We were also very happy that Nicala did her magic to work within our budget. Nicala was fantastic as project manager and worked well with all of the trades people and they trades people ( all men) all said she was great to work with. Our renovation took just around 8 weeks to complete and Nicala stayed with us until we were 100% happy in our new home. We just feel so fortunate to have worked with Nicala and have recommended her and her new partner Danielle ( who was not with Nicala at the time) to our friends and they have also been so thrilled with this team. Everyone that comes into our home comments on the transformation, people have stated "love the contemporary look", love the openness", love the color scheme", love the tile design" , mostly people comment on the kitchen design and how the space was so well utilized. Nicala and I have remained friends since our renovation, she's always a text away. We are so very happy in our new home and we would recommend this team to anyone.

Attention contractors: This company has a habit of calling multiple contractors in for consultations with no intention of using their services. We consulted with them on a driveway gate project that had a tight deadline, they had us searching for prefabbed gates as well as obtaining estimates from custom manufactures with the verbal promise the job was ours. We spent 5 plus hours on their project only to be told that the homeowner had a friend who could do the job. Sorry, this isn't how it works. Pay your Bills

Maven saved me from a nightmare renovation. I thought I could manage my renovation on my own but I was way over budget, way behind schedule and my nerves were shot. Nicala came on the scene and made everything make sense again. She has a clear-headed vision, a no-nonsense approach and she gets things done. She's also lovely to deal with. I recommend anyone doing any kind of renovation hire Maven. Not only will it save you money in the long run, it will also save your sanity.

Danielle and Nicala undertook a complete renovation project at our home that included adding and refinishing hardwood floors, new cabinetry, adding a fireplace and introducing new design element throughout the renovated space. We are so pleased with the outcome and possibly even more pleased with how well they managed the project itself. Timelines were met or beat as was the budget. We are have been busy these past couple months during the pandemic as we both are working in the hospital system! We have been so thankful that our renovation was completed before the shut down. And as we are spending so much more time at home we are so happy that is such a nice space. We really love everything that we did in the renovation and it has made our home so much more functional and comfortable. I love the heated floors everytime I am sitting on the bathroom floor (which is a lot!), the island is great for cooking with the kids, we love the coziness of the built-in bookshelves around the fireplace and the light that comes in from the deck doors now.....
