I moved into a bungalow condo where the kitchen was in very good condition but quite dated. Being older, my home was furnished in contemporary style. Amanda helped me to modernize the kitchen with new counters, sink, taps and cook top. We coordinated our choices, to go with the things that were there. This takes a little work, but the result was that the kitchen is beautiful! Amanda was easy to work with. She didn’t try to talk me into things that I didn’t feel were necessary to change. When it comes to drawings if there is a line drawn it has a purpose. My husband and I used Design Shop for a major renovation on our new home. The house is older, a perfect shell in an ideal neighborhood but in desperate need of a renovation. We had an idea of what we wanted but definitely not equipped to make it a reality without some much needed help. On the recommendation of our best friend, we contacted Debbie at Design Shop and set up our first meeting with her and Natasha. We were immediately impressed with their enthusiasm, energy and support in our vision. During that meeting they explained the process and why they work in pairs which proved to be a godsend many times over during our six month project as one of them was always available if we had any questions or concerns, and believe us, we did. Working with these girls was pure joy. There were soooo many positives such as their quick responses to calls/texts, listening to any of our questions/concerns; honesty on why certain things we’d want to change or add wouldn’t work, keeping us on track to our ultimate goal and finally unexpected small touches that totally surprised us. We especially appreciated their attention to detail in the concept plans and construction drawings which helped us to minimize costs during the actual renovation and ultimately reduced my husband’s stress level. Debbie always joked that part of her job was also being a marriage councilor. In the end, we were beyond happy working with them. Not only is being around them easy and fun they also make you feel like your project is their top priority. We’ve told everyone about them and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. We may have started out as their clients but ended up as friends.
