By far the best granite selection around we were getting overwhelmed with alot of places. We had gone to four other stores and the service here was amazing!! the installers were just as amazing. Very friendly and fast!!! Highly recommend this company for granite :))

Our salesperson guaranteed a timeline and confirmed that to us twice more during the final paper work before our deposit. The timeline definitely swayed us to use Zel as it was fairly quick (~10days from deposit to install). 1) there was missed appointments and deadlines that were promised to gain our sale. This was followed by extremely poor communication. The salesperson was extremely condescending and interrupted me multiple times during our phone call as to why the deadline was going to be missed. After speaking with a manager, our install date was pushed back one day and the installers were going to come on Saturday instead of Friday, so that was a reasonable compromise. 2) Installers came on Saturday, were extremely rude and clearly had more important places to be as they rushed the install. Edwin (granite cutter and installer) was very rude and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by getting them to complete the job. I was told the cabinets were not level for the island, but to the best of my knowledge they were when I put the level on them. After an argument over this, Edwin added 1/2" shim to right side and 3/8" shim to left side which inevitably led to the island being 1/2" out of level on 5 feet. They ended up coming back a few days later with the owner of the company to repair the pathetic attempt at an install and were there for longer than the initial install. They fixed gaps between the countertops and the walls, countertops and appliances, and leveled the island. 3) Prior to the install, it was discussed that they could back their truck up onto our grass and unload the granite so they didn't have to lift and move it so much (thought that was a considerate thing to do). They ended up backing the truck up on our paving stone walkway and mangled it. It is extremely out of level, also stones are gouged and broken. - This is where the majority of our issue comes from. It was discussed with the manager that they would ensure the damage they did is made right and back to the way it was. Now we have damaged property that is our problem, they aren't paying for something that we were told they would reimburse us for, and they aren't standing behind their word. For the transcripts of the messages, the first shows the company representative agreeing with everything in the google review above. The green box is me getting frustrated with the individual after a lot of back and forth. I reminded her that "if I hold you to your word", which implies I wasn't intending to, but I could ask to receive these for free. She admits to saying that she would give them for free in the second sentence "I said that meaning you wouldn't have to pay the rest". I never wanted anything for free, I just wanted our walkway fixed that their representatives damaged and for them to hold up their end of the agreement we both thought was fair. This agreement is shown in the last picture "We will not collect the remainder and we will pay for the pathway to be put back in its original state".

We have had Zel countertops do work for us several times over the years ! Each time Zel did a fantastic job ! Most recently we did a major kitchen and bathroom renovation ! Zel installed the most beautiful granite countertops in our kitchen and bathroom ! They also made a custom , one of a kind glass back splash for each room and glass inserts for our cabinets ! Everyone who has seen our latest Reno is blown away by the craftsmanship and unique artistic details of the work !! On a side note , everyone who I have referred Zel countertops too have been very happy with the results . And surprised at how reasonably priced they are , compared to others in the industry for the same product!! Happy Renovations!!

We bought (what is currently called Formica 180fx "Fantasy Marble") laminate counters from Zel in 2013. Their prices were great, their service was excellent, the counters still look wonderful, and people who see them for the first time still think they are real marble. I wouldn't deal with any other company in Saskatoon.

Starting with my great first encounter with Shehbaz to the great installation teams hat have done both granit and quartz tops for me. We just had the owner of this company leave our home, telling us he is going to "pass" on the work that was scheduled and confirmed. I sent them pictures of what the project entailed and was told he would be here today to do the work. Upon his arrival, he surveyed the work and decided to "pass". Either the work is TOO difficult or he could not make enough money on the job. (As we have made other time commitments to other sub-contractors, we are now behind schedule and over budget.) This whole experience has left us UNSATISFIED !! We would not recommend this company to anyone. (I only gave them a one star because it would not allow me to post this review otherwise.) Doug In fairness, Brandie, the service manager phoned me and offered to make this situation "right" and we would have proceeded however, as they could not give me a definitive and final cost of the project, I declined. We recently installed granite and I would highly recommend this business! Installers were VERY professional, polite and extremely respectful of your home. They took pride in their work and had a significant eye for detail. They ran across a couple hiccups with the cupboards and were very knowledgeable in how to address and fix the problem. They were on time and worked quickly. You cannot even see the seam in the countertop or backsplash. I will definitely be using them again in the near future when we do our bathroom renos!

We recently purchased granite countertops from Zel. Shehbaz provided excellent customer service and their price was the best in the city. I liked that most of the granite in their show room is displayed in large slabs which gives you a good idea of what the finished product will look like. Needless to say we are absolutely thrilled with the product and the workmanship. The installers were great to work with. They were polite, courteous and punctual. Since Zel does not handle tile work Inhouse, Shehbaz recommended an outside installer who did a wonderful job with the tile work for the backsplash. They also installed tile for the fireplace hearth. We were so pleased with all the work that we again hired Zel to create and install a granite fireplace mantle piece. We have had a great experience with Zel and will highly recommend them to anyone needing granite work done.

We got a quartz countertop through Brandie at Zel. The countertop is lovely and appears to have been installed well. Brandie was really good to deal with, prompt, and generally wants to please the customer. The prices were lower than elsewhere, for the same brand, which is why we went with them. We had a few concerns after install but they were not big issues and Brandie/Zel were totally willing to address them. Overall, we are happy customers!
