We sustained wind damage during the winter storm. We decided to upgrade our deck railing and asked if they could put up a gazebo on our existing deck. No problem for these guys. Steve and Colton and their crew completed a restructure of our 100 year old basement for us. It is now a completely new space. Looks like it’s ready to stand another 100 years. K&S were great to work with. Very prompt and professional with communication. With any renovation project, unexpected changes come up. When they ran into problems with the house, they found a solution and provided a cost breakdown for review and approval prior to starting work. The project was completed quickly with quality workmanship. Steve and Karen managed all of the permitting with the city, and coordinated the engineering for the restructure. No shortcuts or corners cut. Our neighbour who has worked many years in the construction industry commented on how impressed he was with their hustle and dedication. I will definitely be recommending K&S to friends and family, and will be giving them a call the next time I need a general contractor.

From patiently reviewing product options and changes over and over with us to ensure that our renovation vision came to life, to answering every question we had, and always checking in with us to make sure we were happy with each phase of the reno, they put us first. Keeping us up to date all along the way was greatly appreciated and I would highly recommend them. We had them gut our basement and redo it. We had them gut and redo 2 bathrooms. We also had them replace all of our windows, add foam insulation, and reside the exterior of our home. A comprehensive renovation to say the least, and we are very happy with the quality work that was done and the genuine friendly service we received.

I like to live my life with the motto "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you" When problems arise during your reno project, as they often do with an old house, the way the contractor deals with these problems says a lot about the way they conduct their business. Steve and his crew took care of any issues that came up in a fair, timely, and professional way, the way I would have taken care of them myself. I’m very pleased by the work that K&S Contracting did to improve our yard. They responded within a day to my inquiry in June about an estimate and were clear about expectations and time line for work in the high season. Within a week, Steve came to do the estimate. He measured the property, and made design notes to address my home owner concerns, priorities, and observations of the interaction of the elements with the property, the need for a parking pad, co-operation with neighbours, and future renovation plans. He made suggestions for the design, that saved cost, and ensured quality and durability of the work. There was an initial estimate, some revisions to account for my dreaming big within a limited budget, and a second estimate with options to complete elements of the project next year. The adjustments made the project more affordable, but maintained the high quality of the excavation, concrete work, landscaping, and the aesthetic of the deck construction. Work began in mid-July, was done on time and on budget, with minimal disruption to our neighbours. For future contracting work, K&S Contracting will be my first call.

I would highly recommend K&S for any renovation project. K&S recently completed a 24X24 garage and a basement finishing project for us, shortly after we moved into our new home. We were on a tight timeline and the crew was able to complete the project well before the deadline. Most importantly, they provide quality and very professional service. So much attention to detail was put into all aspects of the project. Communication with Steve, Colton, Karen, Dan and the rest of the crew throughout the project was also exceptional. We are now able to enjoy and utilize our basement to its full potential and we love our garage for the cold winters and extra storage! 5 stars from me!

Our basement had a horizontal crack that ran the entire length of one wall. K&S completed an inspection and provided a detailed estimate for a complete repair. Steve explained in detail what the entire repair process would require. We were very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. K&S looked after everything, permits, engineering, electrical, plumbing, welding, structural repairs, spray foam insulation, flooring, dry walling and painting. The K&S crew and their sub-contractors were all great. They kept us well informed of their work activities and schedule. While working they always took steps to contain dust and debris to the work area as much as possible and cleaned up before leaving each day. The completed work looks great and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Best of all is the peace of mind knowing it was all engineered, built and inspected properly. A huge thanks to Karen and Steve and company for the fantastic job they did on repairs and renovations to the basement on our acreage. A basement that had heaved and huge cracks in the floor . Cracks in the foundation, drywall in sad shape, and many other issues. After contacting many other companies about the repairs I called K+S for an estimate. Within a few minutes of talking to Steve I knew they were the company to do the work. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the work they did. We asked for additional work as things progressed and they came through for us every time. The foundation under our front steps wasn't providing the support it was meant to carry, causing the column that supported our roof to shift. K&S came in and took care of everything to fix the problem; design, permits, inspections, engineering, dealing with all of the subs. They replaced the foundation for the column, the front steps and all of the old brick. As with any renovation of an older structure, there were surprises lurking below the surface. Steve took care of the unexpected quite capably without getting ruffled. He knew exactly how to handle it all. Everything right down to the paperwork was handled smoothly and professionally. I can fully recommend K&S Contracting.

From my very first meeting of Steve, when he came to look over our project and do a quote, I knew I had found an extremely thorough and meticulous team. And they did not disappoint throughout the whole renovation project. This crew was neat, respectful of my property, and had great communication when issues came up. Their workmanship is top notch. I would not hesitate to hire this company. Icing on the cake, Karen took home all the towels in the condo and washed them, returned them and put a new soap in the bathroom! They truly care about their clients and the time they spend in your space!!

I have never written a review before, but I feel I need to let you know my enjoyable experience working with Karen, Steve and their family. First I would like to let you know why I need to write this review. I own a home that requires a lot of TLC. I am not a ‘handyman” type person and have little imagination when it comes to picking colour and design. K&S Contracting has gone above and beyond my best expectations for their repairs, remodeling, design and attention to every detail. On top of all this they have always been reliable, stayed within budget and always demonstrated professionalize and good communication. Definitely a company I would work with again and would most definitely recommend them to family and friends.
