My Kitchen is complete and I love it! I tell my friends/family that it went from the ghetto to the penthouse! Love the openness, lots of counter space for touch points and prepping and includes a dishwasher. Jostar was very professional from design to final walk through. The design phase took a while - Joanna listened to what's not working and provided thoughts on what it could be. We were provided with a few designs to review and tailor before selecting the right one - seeing it in 3D gives an accurate snapshot of what the new space will look like - Worth the extra fee to get it right. I wasn't really sure what I wanted as far as cabinets or color, having the design team in the house asking alot of questions about how I use the space, seeing existing decor and matching it up was very helpful. Management of the trades was impressive - they arrived in the order they were to and what made me comfortable was the fact they knew each other, knew they work from working together on other jobs. They were all very timely, professional, friendly, and quality work. With management on site a few things were caught right away avoiding extra time/cost. There were some delays receiving product due to COVID shutdowns but regular updates kept me informed. With the countertop delay put a hold on everything else. Joanna searched for a similar local product for me to take a look at in case I wanted to change to keep the work progressing. I'm glad I waited as the initial order arrived sooner than expected. And the tiles - we viewed many a couple different times - they all looked the same - Joanna found one that was unique and looks amazing in my kitchen. With the final walk through, a few drawers needed adjusting, this was taken care of right away. Very happy and totally recommend Jostar to anyone.

Did an entire staircase makeover in my house recently. Was stained oak and carpet covering the treads and risers; this really dated the house and needed changing in my opinion. After sanding and carpet removal asked Joanna for advice and how to refinish. She provided me with excellent direction, the colour scheme and thread/riser combination really works well together. Her experience really showed through and is demonstrated in the excellent result! Pictures of the result are posted. Thanks Jostar!

I wanted a Bar in my basement but there was a pillar in the middle, my concrete wall Jogged in and out, there was a sump pump in the corner and it was next to the stairs, it was the best area to put the bar but it was the hardest. I talked with Joanna Starko about my issue, her and her team some how managed to do the impossible and they fit the bar in the space and it looks great, and its functional. I would recommend Jostar for there design abilities. Special thanks to Megan and Laura. well done. Roger.

Our kitchen/main floor renovation exceeded our expectations. It is more than we dreamed we could have in our home. Without Jostar we could not have made our renovation successful. The project management fee is a very small price to pay for coordination of trades, contractors, suppliers, and expertise (especially with our 2 kids and full-time jobs). The concept designs gave us options to decide the best layout for our lifestyle. We used Iconic cabinets made in Edmonton and they are beautifully crafted. Black Briar Contracting did a fantastic job with implementing the designs and vision that Jostar presented on our behalf. Laura and Joanna looked after every detail to ensure the result was perfect!! Importantly, Laura and Joanna were respectful of our design ideas. We were open to their creative suggestions but they were also open to ours! With a collaborative approach, the results are beautiful! We are already looking ahead at improving more spaces in our home using Jostar!

We renovated our kitchen, starting the summer of 2019. Finished in Nov. We are extremely pleased with the professionalism, the service, the quick responses and our over all experience with Jostar. I will admit, you pay for what you get, and although it is a bit pricey when you are not GCing your own project, it was well worth it! I do not think we'd have our new kitchen had we not had Jostar do the design as my husband and I could not agree, so that alone was worth it. Have them come in and do the 3D design for you at minimum. But my opinion, it was well worth them taking over the project!!

I recently purchased a home and hoped to go with Jostar for a design consultation and hopefully a full design package. Unfortunately my husband and I were very disappointed with the experience. During the consultation the designer walked around our home but didn't ask us any questions or put in any effort to get to know us or what our needs were for furniture. She recommended IKEA kallax shelves three separate times, despite us saying that we didn't like them. She didn't take any measurements, and also didn't show us any pictures or design ideas. The designer said the consultation was supposed to take about 2 hours, but after 40 minutes she was done. We didn't feel like she gave us any helpful ideas nor did she give us any confidence that she would create a design that would be a good fit for us. She also quoted us about $10,000 per room as an average cost, which was surprising as she was recommending IKEA furniture for some parts. There was also no meaningful followup, even when I emailed her that it wasn't a good fit and we wouldn't be moving forward. I'm very disappointed as we had high hopes of working with Jostar, but based on my experience I would not recommend them.

We did a major renovation which included a new kitchen, removing walls, and adding new ones, had a new stair railing installed, matched hardwood to butt up to existing hardwood and had new drapes installed. Pat from Jostar consulted with us to come up with a design. We changed our minds a few times until we were completely satisfied with the design. Pat and the designer at Jostar were very patient with us and offered us 8 different alternatives that we were able to see in 3-D. Without their expertise and patience we would not have been able to achieve the results we did. Once the design was decided upon, our consultant Pat was amazing in helping us choose products and colors. She was quickly able to figure out our style. Without this assistance we would have been totally overwhelmed. We were provided with a estimate for the total project that included everything down to the smallest details. Because of this we were confident in proceeding as once the contract was signed we knew there would not be other charges as we went along. We were very impressed with the Jostar team and their contractors who completed the job promptly and professionally. We left and went on vacation while the work was done. Pat send us progress reports and pictures and when we arrived home the work was ahead of schedule. The workmanship was excellent in every trade. The workmen always showed when they were scheduled, they were polite, professional and cleaned up after themselves. Walls were removed and the ceiling matched perfectly, the hardwood was matched and installed very well. The cupboards and quartz countertops were installed very professionally. Jostar oversaw the whole project and were very thorough in their inspection of the work. Whenever there was anything that needed to be fixed they worked with the contractors to assure that in the end everything was done correctly. This project looks very professional. In the end we now have a terrific open floor design with a beautiful kitchen that opens up to our dining and living room. We are very happy with the end result. Everyone who has visited us have commented on the modern professional look and are blown away with the difference that this renovation made to our home. We definitely recommend Jostar, Pat who was our consultant and project manager, and the tradesmen that Jostar have working with them.

Joanna came laden with books of wallpaper. She heard what we wanted, narrowed our choices down to a few and supported our choice, which ended up to be perfect! Although it came at a cost, it solved our wall problem and turned it into a wonderful feature.

They were professional and ensured their plan solved all the challenges I was facing in the space. Now they are making some custom furniture to fit my new space. I can’t wait to have the decor finished and the new furniture in place.

We used Jostar Interiors Ltd. for a renovation that turned into a costly disaster. We contracted Jostar to do an extensive renovation. The promised time line was 3 months for completion.There were unreasonable delays, inconsistent appearances by the trades and unsatisfactory work, and little to no on site management or supervision by the owner operator or her delegates. Jostar's interior designer incorrectly measured room dimensions for a built in hutch, two book cases and a custom made desk. We were charged more than $5000 by Jostar for this design work which had to be totally discarded. We then had to pay an independent designer (not Jostar's) to fix the mess for which we paid an additional $3500. We were then invoiced by Jostar's owner for her designers time and discarded work which we refused to pay. There is much more to this story and it is all bad. Painters painted walls that were to be covered with wainscoting and were not to be painted at all. A Jostar's trade caused extensive damage to our preexisting hardwood floor for which Jostar took no financial responsibility. We finally ended up having the damaged hardwood flooring repaired at our own cost. We finally fired Jostar for lack of job management and trade performance. After Jostar was fired, we were presented with a bogus invoice for work that was originally contracted to be done by Jostar but was never done. We hired out this work to independent trades after Jostar was fired. Some of Jostar's trades were never paid by Jostar's owner. We had to search our house title to insure that her unpaid trades had not placed a lien on our property. After Jostar was fired, the owner recognized and apologized for the poor work quality and lack of job management on our renovation. She stated she had no idea the job was in such disarray, but took no responsibility for the mess she left us in. She then had the temerity to ask for future referrals for her company after she had been fired. How can an owner operator not know what is going on in her own job site, not take responsibility for damage done by her own trades at a job site and bill for work she knew was never started, let alone completed? To make matters worse, the owner of Jostar then sued us for the unpaid discarded interior design work (for which she had not paid her own interior designer for… one of the trades that were never paid) and the bogus invoices for the originally contracted work which she knew Jostar had never started. Our experience with this company was costly and frustrating. We did not expect to be overcharged for unsatisfactory work with little to no on site job management. If you don't pay what Jostar invoices you (even if it is incorrect, inaccurate or inappropriate), you may get sued. The owner operator of Jostar has a history of numerous law suits against her clients (unfortunately we didn't search this before we hired Jostar). Our advice after dealing with Jostar is "buyer beware" before hiring a designer/contractor for any renovation work. Do your homework. Govern yourself accordingly. Without prejudice, PO!

We recently completed a total makeover of our kitchen, dining room and living room. We asked Jostar to prepare a 3D rendering of our planned renovations. Megan listened to our ideas, offered some suggestions and perfectly interpreted our vision into a 3D drawing for us. Since we were overseeing all the renovations and doing a large part of it ourselves, Megan's drawings gave us the confidence to know what we were looking to achieve. The end result is better than we had hoped. Thank you so much to Megan. We would not hesitate to recommend Jostar to anyone wanting to tackle a renovation. Well worth the investment.

Jostar Interiors Ltd. came to our office to paint a large wall and door with whiteboard paint - they did an amazing job, the installers were courteous, respectful, and paid close attention to detail to make sure everything was done correctly. They followed up the next week to make sure everything was correct and working the way we wanted, and Joanna is fabulous! They will be our first choice when we have future interior work that needs to be completed.

Yes, I used Jostar way back in 1981 and had drapes and bedspreads made, all the colors and fabrics I choose were just right. This time in this place I had blinds, bedspreads and a curtain and verticals. The first gal that came out right away knew exactly what i liked as she heard me repeat shiny and sparkly so my bedspreads were perfect colored and sparkly in ivory and light beige brown, even my drape had sparkles and valances just how I imagined. Then Nicole came out as my rooms need some darkening and she picked the perfect colored blinds so I have everything completed now and everything is great. Thanks to the Jostar team.
