We hired SGDI to help us with the main floor renovation we had been thinking about for quite a while. They were our first call as we were not really sure how to go about the whole project. We ended up moving the kitchen around in our home and reconfiguring the main floor a bit. SGDI provided us with many options all great in their own way, and we decided to go with the one that best suited our needs and budget. The process was quite easy and so much simpler than it would have been without a talented design team guiding us. Sarah and Rob helped us find a very caring and capable contractor who was able to accurately quote and execute the construction. Our renovation is complete and the furniture has arrived and it is fantastic! Not only does it look great, everything about our main floor is more functional for our busy family. I have nothing but great things to say about the SGDI team. They quoted the Design costs for us before we hired them so we knew what we were getting into. They gave us a realistic cost range which they said they would hold to. In the end, They actually charged us less than the low end of the cost estimate, which was great. Trustworthy, meticulous and always working with our best interests in mind! Awesome!!

Working with Sarah Gallop and her design team at SGDI was professional and stress-free from beginning to the end. Our renovation was a design and build of our whole main floor including the master suite. Sarah and her team, working with Jim Smith of Smithwood Builders, were a terrific team to work with and we are more than pleased with both the process and the result. We had hoped for an open concept, a new white kitchen with an island, a large spa-like master ensuite a large master closet, a fireplace that did not block our view and a design that pulled together the whole floor so it flowed from one area to another. Wow! The design was amazing and the process so professional. Sarah maximized the use of space in ways we had not even considered. Our home now flows seamlessly and yet we still have defined areas and space. We have a relocated fireplace, custom millwork for the living, dining, and kitchen, and a beautiful master suite. When we stand at our gorgeous kitchen island we can not only see our magnificent view and the deck, we can speak with all our family and guests. Throughout the design process Sarah and her team made it easy for us. They listened to our needs and what we liked then gave us a small number of options to choose from that all fit together. We also had Sarah help us with furniture so it fit our new open concept design. We were impressed that Sarah dropped by when we were struggling with little decisions in the midst of construction, that SGDI would order and hand deliver some items, or make sure they were brought in while we were away. We had heard about renovation horror stories but with SGDI you have no worries. SGDI’s construction drawings were excellent. Sarah is knowledgeable about construction and works with builders that she trusts and they trust her. The communication from design to build and back to homeowner ensures the process is as smooth as possible and design elements are adjusted as necessary throughout the build. We highly recommend SGDI to anyone considering a renovation. You are hiring a professional design team with an excellent track record, relationships with suppliers, and solid contractor connections. Although we already had architectural plans done and a contractor retained for our from-the-ground-up renovation, Sarah’s team were invaluable in reformatting the construction plans to maximize functionality and to best achieve our design vision. Sarah and her team were amazing! We hired them at the outset of a significant home renovation which was completed in 2017; and they were able to guide us through right to completion in such an organized fashion. They took a dated old home and made it a modernized marvel. I never imagined that the style I wanted could be achieved in this house. Everything about our new space is fantastic, so thought out and perfect for us. The contractor we ended up hiring, Sarah actually knew, so we had great confidence in the construction of the project. Sarah was able to advise on how we could phase the renovation so that we did not have to leave our home while it was happening. We ended up completing the basement, which includes a kitchenette, so we could live downstairs before the rest of the home was renovated- which worked great for our family. Sarah’s team was also around during construction to make sure things went as planned and made any adjustments as needed…a wonderful experience with a caring design team on my side this whole journey, I could not have asked for more!

We hired Sarah Gallop Design for the complete Architectural and Interior design of our family home. We are happy that we got in touch with her right at the start of the process because we found that Sarah’s input was paramount in getting this house from the stage of just ideas of what we wanted to the resulting completed home. If you want the best in the west you need to use Sarah Gallop Designs. Her level of professionalism, ability to match materials, tiles, carpet, wall color, hardware, trim details ect. to what I call a provided bible document that all the trades reference, is not only incredible, but combines to make your new build or renovation run smoothly and look out of this world! I wouldn't of been able to do it without their help and materials direction. You want a home that exudes clean lines and is on trend/on point with aesthetics appeal you need to use SGDI. You won't be disappointed!

We were referred to SGDI by a realtor and we had also seen their beautiful work all over Houzz- so we decided to give them a call. The relationship started with the initial consultation where Sarah came to our house and blew our minds with possibilities and walked through our home giving us so much information on what we could /should/shouldn't do to our very dated family home. We were presented with a number of options for the new layout and she did an amazing job space planning the home for the needs of our growing family. Design is just about complete for our whole home inside/out renovation, and we are looking forward to starting construction in the next few months and we have the plan perfectly in place, no detail overlooked. The house will be unrecognizable when it is all said and done and we cannot wait to get started. Their fees were more than reasonable and worth every penny. They are a lovely team to work with, we have enjoyed every step- and they make it so easy and fun! We would refer SGDI in a heartbeat to friends and family, in fact we already have. Sarah Gallop Design had done an exceptional job on our newly renovated home. Our basement was completely gutted except for the bedrooms upstairs. Sarah has a great vision for functionality, the flow of traffic to aid the ease of moving things around (loading/unloading groceries), and a design that meets the needs of everyone in our family. We were so impressed by Sarah’s very first walk-through our home with us to give us an estimate and a tentative plan of the design. Just from that first walk, Sarah came up with many brilliant ideas of how the door from the garage should be connected to the stairs up to the kitchen for loading/unloading groceries purposes, and how the flow of our lower floor should be from the garage to the laundry, to the two bedrooms, and office space. Her vision was crystal clear and functional. She is a great problem detector and solver in term of a home layout. Not many designers can visualize the way she could. The suggestion to move our side stairs to the front deck is a good example. The extended size of the master bedroom bathroom, and the knocking down of walls were something that make the entire home cozy, visual pleasing, and family connecting. The size of each room was carefully planned to accommodate our family’s needs, like a queen bed, a work corner, a dresser, and other needs. Her suggestions to relocate the hot water tank and the furnace were so brilliant. It makes the entire lower floor very tidy, unclutter, and nothing in the way of the traffic flow. Last but not least, Sarah and Stephanie were so willing to jump in and assisting us in any communication difficulty with the contractor from the most trivial issues to a major change or a new design suggestion. Her responses were prompt, straight to the point, and she stays clear on our side (not the contractor's side). It renders us peace of mind and stress-free. Her ongoing support was outstanding and we could not be happier to have a designer on our side to help us with all the material selections, and monitor the work done every step of the way. We have had a terrible experience before with a design/build company and we definitely will never head down that path again. There are many catches and traps to renovate your home with a Design/Built Company. Be extremely careful if you want to head down that path. You will have less control of everything you would want to see it in your new home. Overall we are so fortunate to come across Sarah Gallop Design firm on HOUZZ. It is a blessing to get to know Rob (very humble, cordial, and sincere), Sarah, and Stephanie (very organized, approachable, and detail-oriented) , and have them designed our home where we have come to love, and look forward to come home everyday after a long day of work. A heartfelt thank you to Sarah, Rob and Stephanie. We wouldn’t have this beautiful home without all of you. A hat off to Sarah and her team for their absolutely amazing talents in home designing.

“We built our house 24 years ago and it was when talking to our children that they suggested we do a renovation on our house. We have a good sized south-facing lot with an in - ground pool on a quiet cull-de-sac, and despite a few small renovations over the years, we realized we were due for some changes. But, where to start? It was a good friend of ours who suggested Sarah Gallop, a local, award-winning designer. We didn’t even look any further, as we heard back from Rob Gallop immediately after our first tentative contact. Our initial ideas were expanded upon into a much larger scope, making our project a full house renovation after discovering our radiant floor heating on both floors was done with Poly B piping and we would inevitably spring a leak at any time. Also, our last-forever tile roof was losing integrity and needed to be replaced as well. Not only did Sarah’s team take all our added issues into account, they were melded beautifully into the design. We went with a metal roof that added a whole new great look to the outside of our house, along with beautiful natural rock work both inside and out. Sarah chose the contractor for us and worked closely with them as well as us to bring all our wishes into fruition. This was especially helpful, as we were traveling a great deal during that time, and Sarah was able to handle any issues that arose on our behalf. We moved several walls, added a covered patio area with speakers, heaters, and lights, beautiful ceiling and wall trims and the walk-in closet of my dreams. Sarah and her team followed us from the first stage of design and permits, through to completion with excellent attention to detail, including choosing the perfect furniture for our new open concept living room, dining room and kitchen space. And the results are simply stunning! We have virtually a new home from top to bottom, inside and out and we LOVE it! Sarah and her team helped create our dream home by the ocean basically down to the studs. All aspects and details were carefully covered by their planning and documentation. This made the process very easy especially since both of us were busy with full time work. The variety of selections and styles were carefully chosen so as not to have too many decisions to bog us down. Three years ago we decided to pursue building the perfect house for our family. After a long search we settled on a beautiful property on which to build our forever home. The existing house on this property did not suit our needs and so we decided that the best route to take would be to build a new house to realize exactly what we wanted for our family. At the recommendation of our builder we met with Sarah Gallop and quickly determined that she and her team would be a great fit to bring the vision of our future home to life. We found SGDI's design services to be extremely attentive, professional, and SGDI worked closely with us to sort out every detail we had envisioned for our new home. We also found Sarah and her Team to be highly engaged with our vision, and they worked patiently to incorporate all of our desires into the final plan. We appreciated how knowledgeable the entire team was and how they put their best effort into designing our new home to ensure that we got exactly what we wanted. Their passion for client satisfaction through design is apparent! Having lived in our new home for a while now, we love how it functional our fabulous new home is. It is nearly impossible to choose a favorite space in this wonderful house, but if forced to choose the bar/rec room and main floor powder room are the front runners, but my wife has a definite soft spot for the Master Closet. The entire home is very well thought out, extremely functional and aesthetically it provides a wonderful backdrop to showcase family heirlooms that reflect our respective personalities and most treasured memories. This house is everything that we wanted it to be! Sarah’s team did a wonderful job of capturing the elements we wanted from the initial vision that we presented to them. Looking back at the ideas within the images we originally sent to SGDI during the initial design phase of the project, you can see influences yet our home is a perfectly unique design and one-of-a-kind! We love living here!
