We communicated several times back and forth about the look I was going for and I felt like she really paid attention to what I liked and what I didn't like. I still need to buy one or two items to finish my room but I love the bohemian vibe my dining room has now! The whole process was so much fun. I can't wait to do another room!

The process could not have been easier and Mikayla proved herself to be a skilled expert in capturing my vision, sticking to my budget, and sourcing beautiful pieces from a range of vendors and designers. The approach Decorist takes requires minimal input from the customer, and their software accommodates easy communication, uploading of photos, and an overall seamless platform to provide feedback and encourage a dynamic process along the way. Mikayla was an absolute dream to work with -- she clearly took into account my feedback throughout the entire process, and perfectly captured my vision for my space. Like anything, Decorist is a two way street, so I made sure to provide quick and clear feedback and guidance, and Mikayla was adept at incorporating my thoughts into the designs she offered. I have good taste and I know what I like, but pulling it together into a cohesive vision across all pieces is not my forte, and quite frankly I don't have the time to do it. Decorist's reasonable pricing was worth every single penny. I highly recommend this service to people who want a beautiful, comfortable space, but don't have the time nor the experience to pull off the feel you're trying to capture. Mikayla Keating is an absolute dream!! !

I worked with designer Sarah Wilson to update our family living room. I had an excellent, productive experience. I'd strongly suggest that clients enter the process with clearly articulated goals for the space, and honestly recognize what's possible & what's unrealistic within the budget- then be open to the designer's suggestions and approaches. Designing is obviously an art, but its also a science of communication that requires receptiveness. For example, I REALLY thought I wanted to change the color of our couch with a slip-cover. I REALLY thought I wanted green paint on our protruding fireplace wall. However, working with Sarah's virtual sketches & designs for the room, brought me to completely different - and MUCH better design solutions for the space that intelligently applied the budget to go farther. I was able to view what I thought I wanted, along with its price - and compare that to how much MORE was possible by approaching the process in line with the budget, using Sarah's very smart and personal designs suggestions. Such a great experience! I'll be using Decorist for years, as we slowly update our home for our family's changing needs. Thank you Sarah Wilson. Thank you Decorist.

This was my first time using decorist and I was a little hesitant to try the service, but I’m so glad that I did! I have tried to work with interior designers in the past, and none of them were very successful. They didn’t listen to what you wanted, and you felt like they were just trying to sell you things that you didn’t need or want. When I was first assigned to Tera Hammerly, she immediately asked me what I wanted from the room, what pieces I wanted to keep and what my budget was going to be. I knew right away that this was going to be a different experience. The whole process was simple and I looked forward to getting emails from Tera with her new ideas and suggestions. The floor plan was beautiful and easy to follow. She was responsive to all of my questions, extremely patient, and had many ideas and opinions to help me navigate the world of interior design! I would absolutely use her services again, and that of decorist, and without hesitation, recommend it to others who need help pulling a room together. I am still in the process of ordering her recommendations, but so far everyone that I have dealt with at decorist has been professional and very quick to respond to my many questions. My experience was awful, the app didn’t work, my designers hardly looked at my notes or measurements, even if I told them in chat and in the design notes. My end design is absolutely terrible and some of the stuff won’t even fit and they added light greys and pink that would never go with my black and white modern scheme. I recommend not to use this service, huge disappointment. I honestly thinks it’s not real designers, just high school students doing a side project with a design game.

Everything was fun and easy, from the intake with Caitlin about my design aesthetic and likes/dislikes, to my initial design comps all the way through to my amazing 3D renderings. I had a great experience designing my bedroom with Decorist! My designer, Ashley Beedon, was so sweet and really made sure to understand my style and vision. The initial concept boards were really helpful for this and also for helping me better understand my own vision for the room. In the end, Ashley put together a perfect design for me--every item she picked out was perfect and she made sure to provide me with all the details about how to lay everything out. My only minor complaints are that the room ended up being slightly over my budget and the complimentary ordering service (which I recommend using because of free shippping!) was a little confusing for me. I think the issues I had with the ordering service were due to a software bug but it was resolved promptly when I called customer service! Overall, I really enjoyed using this service and will be recommending it to my friends and family! Thanks Ashley!

Casey with HCC design is just wonderful. I originally was assigned to a different designer but realized quickly she was not a great match. I reached out and requested Casey instead. She is amazing! After review the first concept I knew it was exactly what I wanted. She is also very prompt with any of my questions and tried to accommodate with my requests. Working with Becky Leu (Leu Interiors) was absolutely fantastic. An absolute pleasure (both Leu Interiors and the Decorist platform). If you were hesitant like I was, don't be. While not all online design platforms are created equal (and I can't vouch for any others), this one is fantastic.

Overall, I loved working with Decorist! I was matched with designer Casey of HCC designs. She was incredibly responsive to all messages and addressed all my questions promptly. She came up with two design concepts for our casual living room that incorporated our current furniture, space, and new furniture needs very well. We ended up combining elements from both. I was impressed with how well she was able to work within our limited budget even for so many pieces we needed. I especially loved that both my husband and I were pleased with Casey's design! This was one of the big reasons why we chose to work with Decorist--to get help merging both of our styles, and it worked out great! My husband is great at saying yes or no to things, but doesn't initiate ideas himself. That's why it was incredibly helpful to see the concepts and pieces throughout the process and make some tweaks before buying. The one disappointment we encountered was a lamp that ended up not working out. When it arrived and he assembled it, it was very top heavy and wouldn't stand up on its own. I checked the reviews on this piece and all of them said the same thing. I will be returning it, which is a hassle. I wish she had checked the reviews before suggesting this particular item. Overall though we were very pleased and plan to use Casey again!

I have a smaller (950 sq ft) SFO apartment home that I needed some help decorating. This was my first time working with an Interior Designer and I was a little nervous selecting one that was internet based. After doing some reading I chose "Decorist". They have three plans "Classic, Elite, and Celebrity" to chose from, I signed up for their Classic plan and I chose Ellice Condon as my designer. Previously, Ellice and I worked together on a different project. She had helped me pick accent wall color in my living room and I really liked her vision. I have never officially worked with a designer before and was so nervous to try it, especially that it was an online one. I just finished my first room with Decorist and am about to sign up for a second room with the same designer, Emily Johnson. I found Decorist on a home-style blog and fell in love with the featured room. When that particular designer had a wait list which I placed myself on, Decorist emailed me right away to offer any help, and to see if they could help me find another designer with similar aesthetic who was available right away. After looking at the portfolios of the 4 recommended designers, we chose Emily Johnson and we are so glad we did! She was able to work with my husband's and my contrasting styles (mid-century modern and bohemian with a little luxe thrown in!), and bring them together to create an absolutely beautiful living room for us that we both love.....and never would've come up with on our own! She had great communication along the way and sent us options to look at throughout the design process. My initial questionnaire had so many different thoughts and ideas and different directions, and she brought it together beautifully. We even had second thoughts about the rug we chose for the final design concept and she came back and helped us find the perfect replacement. Tina also made thoughtful recommendations based on our living needs, such as stylish yet durable items that would withstand the wear and tear of a new puppy. I just can't get over how she understood what was in my head and then made it better! Decorist made the whole process very easy. The website is simple and clean, and the chat function made it easy for Tina and I to communicate, including sharing photos and links. Customer service was also very responsive. The purchasing assistant reached out just a few hours after I placed an order for all the items Tina picked. This was my first Decorist project, but now I'm hooked. I've wasted thousands of dollars buying furniture and accessories that I liked but didn't coordinate with the rest of the room. Those days are over thanks to Tina and Decorist! Thank you, Tina!

I was absolutely struggling with how to decorate an open plan room - I wanted an updated look that also incorporated several antiques I inherited. She did a great job working them all into the plan, and has been so helpful. She incorporated all my concerns (including worries about pets), and has tried to answer all my questions as soon as she can. Great designer, and a great service! However be aware that once you receive your final plan and the shopping list for it, you will have to buy the majority of the items right away. Due to their connections with on line retail, the items are often more reasonable priced but they sell out very fast. So save up before going through with the process so that you will have enough money to buy things right away!

She was super collaborative, very encouraging of my feedback throughput the process and overall a joy to work with. I absolutely LOVE Decorist & cannot rave about it ENOUGH! Emily Johnson was my interior designer and she KILLED IT!! She was the first designer that caught my eye, I immediately fell in love with her portfolio & approach to design. To say she's talented is an incredible understatement... We're decorating and I didn't want to guess, buying pieces that wouldn't work or that I would regret later. I wanted to work with an interior designer that could transform my dream room into a reality - not just pinning or saving photos on the gram. I initially started looking & was overwhelmed, pricing being ABSURD, resources were limited with no visibility into portfolios or knowing what the "starting" estimates included. I didn't want to go broke and end up with a room I didn't love but heard about Decorist through a girlfriend & thought I'd take a look. You can browse designers by package and style, review portfolios and read bios - all before committing. Decorist & Emily, made the process SO EASY and affordable (I cannot stress this enough). It's generally $200/room for their Classic Package but I got a Black Friday deal (60% off) and quickly started the process! You fill out a detailed questionnaire that pin points your budget and style - from photos you have pinned to the type of fabric and finishes you like. You can even voice what pieces you'd like to keep. Lastly, you submit room dimensions and add preferred designers (if you have any) then you're paired!! Everything's online, which is so convenient! You receive 2 design concepts - each with a theme/description, layout and items to rate. Based off your comments and ratings for each item and the overall room, adjustments are made (if any). Once you receive your final concept, you're able to purchase any/all items through them, with free shipping! The whole process from start to finish, took less than a month. Emily is a SAINT and such an inspiration. She makes design fun & exciting! At first I was going for a casual boho look but ended up going with a more modern/minimalist look after I received the 2 proposals. Despite this shift, she KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK! I am now SO EXCITED to receive my furniture & start redecorating, ALL THANKS TO HER. I never could have accomplished or dreamt up the finished look on my own. I read about Decorist on a few design blogs. It was an affordable design option for a room I was at a loss with. You take a simple (almost fun) quiz to determine your design/decor style (if you don't know it) and you're then matched with 1 of their designers. My designer was super responsive and personable -- we connected through their chat feature, which was really easy and convenient. I was presented with 2 design options, gave feedback on the aspects I liked the most of both of those and then was given a final design concept. The shopping list at the end with recommend products was a gift in and of itself. I only wonder if Decorist/Lowe's could leverage their scale and get better prices on the products -- or free shipping at least. Something to think about!

I love working with Decorist! Decorist picked my designer the first time around Caitlin McBride and she was amazing!! I've been working with her since (2 classic designs and 2 accessory refreshes). She reviews your comments and Pinterest boards in great detail. I usually have over 50+ pins and she is able to take what is essentially a brain-dump of ideas and create a defined vision. She is easy to work with and she is always quick to respond. Caitlin always completes my project ahead of schedule, provides the best suggestions, and is always a lot of fun to work with! Decorist is definitely worth it! I feel like I ended up saving money because Caitlin made sure everything stayed within my budget. If it was up to me, I'd probably want a million things, buy things based on sales, and end up getting completely mismatched things. This would have been so painful if I had to do it myself. It's also nice to purchase your items in one click but I don't really use that service because I like to shop and find deals. However, I want to support my designer and make sure she's earning a commission on some of this stuff so I do purchase a few things through Decorist. They always match vendor prices and they take coupons in the comments section upon check out! If you're debating between Decorist and Laurel & Wolf, PICK Decorist!!! Decorist set the bar high and I did not enjoy my experience with L&W. They were not fun, their design page/portal isn't user friendly, and they don't offer 3D rendering for their version of Decorist's "classic".

After she made our completely empty dining room a beautiful space for entertaining, we decided we needed her help improving our kitchen, and she made it truly incredible. We already know that we want to use her again for our living room next. I think we’ll eventually ask for her help with our entire house! She has such great taste and ideas, but she also really listened to what we were looking for – so the designs were always within our style preferences, just better than we could imagine. She also provided numerous options, if needed, and responded right away to any questions we had. It really felt like a fun, exciting and collaborative process – I truly enjoyed working with her, and can’t wait to do it again!
