Val's is truly one of a kind. Her interior design course was one of the best courses I've ever taken. It was extremely empowering and so thorough. I went from knowing very little about interior design to feeling like I could confidently make decisions myself when designing my new house. The best part of the course is that it doesn't just teach you what looks good but teaches you WHY it looks good. From understanding your own design style to buying the right sized furniture to choosing the right patterns and textures for pillows to how to style your place. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone who wants to get a masterclass on design.

After undertaking a complete home renovation – new drywall, ceilings, flooring, paint, bathroom fixtures, lighting, kitchen etc. - and not feeling 100% with my choices I was at a loss. I live in Alberta but found Val online and was immediately drawn to her warmth and down to earth personality. Val is an incredible person and an approachable interior decorator. She genuinely cares about creating spaces people will love and use well. She takes the time to truly understand who you are and what the issues are with your space. Her responses are thoughtful, prompt and educational. Val will diligently work with you to achieve a space that is balanced between what you desire and the lifestyle/budget you have, even from three provinces over! All while providing humor and knowledgeable advice along the way too! As a novice to the entire interior decorating process, I also took her online course so I could “speak the same language” as her. The course is AWESOME! It made me realize why I was drawn to certain spaces, what I was doing incorrectly with my own space and how I could fix it. However, since I naturally don’t enjoy shopping, pattern mixing, or styling, this is where Val’s advice and guidance has been most useful for me. She has been honest and kind throughout this process and now I am just a few furniture items, lighting fixtures, throw pillows and decorative accents away from a space I love. Thank you so much Val!

My husband and I moved into an apartment last Fall and wanted to refresh & decorate the place . We have no design sense so I searched internet and found/picked Val, Orangetree Interiors because of their good reviews . The design work included kitchen, living room, dining area and painting throughout. Val had the challenges of working with our small budget and our desire to keep a bulky sofa and a huge credenza( all into very small space ). Despite that, Val was able to come up with a beautiful design that is both functional and stylish. The final document she produced is very comprehensive. We love her design and can't wait to start implementing her ideas. Throughout the design process,Val was very knowledgeable, responsive and flexible. Val was quick to help me find my style( I was totally clueless). When I didnot choose something from the concept boards due to personal choice, she was quick to find replacement s that I love. Val is a very personable, talented, diligent professional. She listens to her client's needs and budget. It was a pleasant experience working with Val. We highly recommend Val and Orangetree Interiors!

I wish I could give 10 stars on google. Contacting Orangetree Interiors is the single best decision I have made through the whole process. I could not recommend this service enough. The designer Val, is an incredible communicator. Throughout the entire design process she was listening to my ideas while always steering me to the best design options for my space. She focused on optimizing the natural light from the room, adding ambient lighting, making sure the furniture was all my style and functioned and fit the space properly. She also kept in mind a few of my existing pieces of furniture and added a few pieces to the design. Even after discussing over 20 shades of white, she still had time for me. (We narrowed it down to one, Cloud White - the original white Val suggested to me!) Val is punctual, hard working, detail oriented and delivered more then I could of ever expected. When I opened the drawings I got pretty emotional. I am not a visual person and tend to continually pick up pieces that I am not that thrilled with when I get them home. Now I have the designs and measurements for my dream room, I will be able to purchase the items that I love and that will actually work with the function of my room. Like I say, 10 stars!

Class and Elegance. The process from start to finish was excellent. Val listened to everything we had to say, took it, and produced everything and more of what we could have expected. Had we done it on our own, we would have had your typical "IKEA" room that people would have just walked by. With Orangetree's assistance, we now have a room that belongs in a magazine. A lot of money was saved by doing it right the first time instead of guessing and trying to make it work. We will be using them for several other rooms this year!
