Heather Taylor (Royal Alex)
Been two months since my son has had a bed - this has been ridiculous! We ordered a $3000.00 boys two drawer, double sized bed/bedding/nightstand/rug as a step up for our 10 year old in April - the weekend before the bed was to arrive, we gave away his single set. Yay!! the big day is here, mom's booked a day off, except... the bed (six feet long, almost three feet tall, at least 55" wide) comes fully assembled, glued and screwed, weighs 300 lbs, and doesn't fit into our house, never mind up the stairs, or around the corner upstairs into the bedroom!!.
Now, I don't design furniture for a living, but one would assume that these dimensions do not fit into many homes ...so back the bed went, for a model that does come in pieces small enough to fit into the average home. Re-order time - roughly 1.5 weeks. The woman at the Restoration Hardware store here in Edmonton told my husband she was doubtful about our ability to exchange the bed, as we should have researched what the company meant when we paid for delivery and assembly - for real??
We get the return done, select a new bed, and the new bed is here. I book Tuesday off to receive the bed,YAY!! Except... they can't deliver and assemble the bed...sorry, the hardware to put it together did not make it from the warehouse in Calgary, so no bed. Could you please take this Friday off to accept delivery? REALLY?!? I suppose so.
Phone call Wednesday - oops, apparently the bolts never were sent with the rest of the bed when it was shipped from the States...sorry, now we'll have to cancel this Friday, and look at one day next week - we'll call you when the parts are in. And here we sit, today... what a cluster cuss!!!
I pray the bed comes, and when it does, I will NEVER buy another product from Restoration Hardware. Will let all my friends know, too - never once, at any point has anyone other than the delivery person made any form of contact or attempt at customer service. Glad the store is getting more upscale and is able to charge higher prices, in addition to: shipping, currency exchange, delivery, assembly - those profits must be going in someone's pocket, because they're sure not getting passed on to a customer, OR to customer service. NO stars, but I had to select "One" to post this message!!
