This Hospital belongs to the category of Walk-in clinic.
I am very disappointed of the way I've been treated at this clinic. I have been trying to get results of my biopsy for a week. This morning I called again and I am caller #23. This is not okay. Another day not knowing what's going on and having to go through my day with all the stress.
Hardly any patients in the waiting room, 16 doctors and yet you still have to wait an hour after your appointment time to be seen. This clinic is honestly the most inconvenient clinic I have ever been to. Rude receptionists, long wait time, and no help from my family doctor. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE! Worst Doctor's office in the city!
Booked an Appointment for 3.30pm. The email confirmation does not give you details on the procedure of this online appointment. I called the clinic to find out details, surprised that they let me know that there are 10 people ahead of me for my 3,30 pm appointment. I cant believe how hard is it to figure out an online booking platform and to schedule patients accordingly. If there was a 2 -3 person wait its ok. But a 10 person wait is just pure mismanagement and lack of leadership of this organization.
The doctor in this walk in clinic prefer their family practice patients to a true walk in patient. And the staff at the reception here confirmed this. Be prepared to be bumped out of your position in line if a patient at the family practice comes in, if one of their staff needs to be seen or if they decide they want to place you lower on the list. If you can choose another walk in you are much better off going elsewhere.
Albany is fantastic. The staff at the desk are efficient, the doctors are all very talented and give consistently excellent care, and the hours are unbeatable. Plus, should you need a x-ray, blood taken or similar, you can just pop right upstairs and have it done in one go! Sure the wait times are not ideal, but you’ll find that in any walk in clinic across the city. These guys at least give you an approximate wait time so you feel like you’re actually able to leave to grab a coffee or something and not spend your entire time in the waiting room. So civilized! I can’t say enough good things. They’re doing it right.
I would like to share my experience at your clinic and with one of your employees in particular. Her name is Karla. I visited the clinic with a scary symptoms. I didn't know what was going to happen the suddenly I found myself almost crying. Next the thing I know this angel appeared and I knew everything was going to be fine. She sat down with me and asked me what was wrong? I explained my situation and she told me that everything’s gonna be fine. She did her best to comfort me until I was calm enough to catch my breath. She told me that there are amazing people that are working in the clinic and everyone of them will make sure that I will going to have the best care. I believe she is an angel in disguise. I highly recommend this clinic to everyone. Words are not enough to express how thankful I am to all the staffs. Thank you so much.
The reception staff here are SO rude. Every question you ask is a drag to them. Do not recommend whatsoever.
I felt discrimination at this clinic. The concerns that I had about my overall health were not taken seriously and the staff always came off as "cold and uncaring". If you are Indigenous I don't recommend this clinic. I left the Micheal Gargon Hospital yesterday In Tears because of the way I was treated after my doctor, named Dr. Gewurz, spoke to the staff in radiology about having a MRI done. I was given an IV at the start of my appointment and Nothing was administered through the IV. It just sat in my arm hanging off. Throughout the procedure I had a panic attack and requested for the procedure to stop. The radiologist and nurses at first refused to let me go and eventually called the security. 3 security officers came to escort me put of the hospital however only one escorted me out of the hospital. This was a traumatizing experience and I have changed doctor's since. I will never return to the Micheal Gargon Hospital and I will never access Any services provided by The Albany Medical Clinc. I feel like since I left I will be getting g real answers to my health concerns.
The doctor was nice. The staff was awful! Haven’t such unfriendly people....I called on the phone, but no one picked up for an hour so I just walked in there and turned out there is no one. And waiting time was zero minutes! Although on their website it said 45 minutes. Someone showed up late for his appointment and they were really mean to him. Maybe they were having a bad day but we are all having a bad day as well...specially that we are the patients! When you are sick you don’t want to deal with a mean person. I asked questions about how much I will pay and what’s the difference between two kinds of forms, since it was an out of province visit. And they didn’t seem to want to explain anything...they had no patience... However the place looks clean. I saw the doctor right away. Usually when I go to see my family doctor there are nurses to take temperature and blood pressure measurement. That didn’t really happen there. Again only the doctor was nice.
I got a call from the clinic for a follow up, with no name, extension or department. 23 minutes and 49 seconds later - having spoken to 4 different people - I was told to come back to the walk in clinic. The last person I spoke to gave me plenty of attitude to say she's doing her job and does not control the call centre or the other 2 departments I spoke to. The doctors might be better but the walk-in and call centres need to be improved.
I've been to the walk-in before I got a family doctor, and I've never had anything but great experiences, both then and now. Dr. Ho is the best doctor I've ever had. She is knowledgeable, kind, and so helpful. I have a few chronic issues, and she has helped me with all of them, including with referrals.
I was a patient here for 4-5 years and in that time was transferred between 3 different GPs because they kept moving back to the UK. I finally left the clinic after my last GP had my drivers licence taken away from me because he was convinced I was epileptic despite never having had a seizure in my life. I was left without a licence for over a year and now have to be reassessed by a neurologist every single year in order to keep my licence. My GP refused to cooperate with the neurologist to get my licence back, so I had to go to another clinic to have them properly assess me and confirm that i have never been epileptic. My new GP (at another clinic) was able to get my licence reinstated within one month of visiting him. Now that I’m gone from the clinic, I receive emails every couple weeks demanding that I have my new GP pay for my records to be transferred over for no apparent reason. My new GP took my health history and confirmed that there was no need for my old files to be transferred. I’ve asked Albany Clinic to stop, but the emails keep coming without the option to unsubscribe. I would avoid this clinic at all costs.
Had stitches in my head and went to the walk-in clinic to get them removed. After he removed them he asked me if they were all gone. Being that they were on my forehead it was kind of hard to tell him that definitive answer, like I should be doing that anyway (sarcasm). I went home and 4 days later it started getting infected. My daughter took out one of the partial stitches, and there's still a piece left in there which is getting infected. I can't believe that somebody would ask me if my stitches are removed. But with that said my doctor is great and he is at that clinic.
The walk-in doctors can't do more than prescribing Tylenol. If you have a serious condition go elsewhere. The walk-in clinic receptionists are careless and often rude. Once they forgot …
The WORST clinic I've ever seen!! Tried to book an appointment to the doctor, that according to the website information was accepting new patients, was informed that my application is accepted and doctor will call me back with the dates …
By far one of the worst clinics. They have absolutely no manners and do not know how to explain things to walk in patients. Do not go there. There is no professionalism by reception.
I see that a lot of people complain about the reception phone line at this clinic, but I just had the most helpful and patient conversation with the receptionist. I called to ask for follow up on some tests, and rather than putting me off, she was understanding and sent a message to the doctor to have him check the results for me. It was all very polite and professional. The doctor experience with my virtual visit was similarly impressive. I could not get a virtual visit with my family doctor for 5 days. I managed to book myself into the virtual walk-in at Albany Clinic and received a call from a doctor in just over an hour. He was patient and empathetic, and explained everything to me clearly. He ordered tests which conveniently could all be done on site at the Albany Clinic, which is near my home. Overall a five-star experience. Good walk-in clinics are hard to find!
This clinic has gone from 5 star plus to negative. I have been a patient at this clinic for over 40 years. Who ever runs this clinic needs to do an overall. The front desk is TERRIBLE AND DISSAPOINTING. What happened to this place. Maggie and her team were the best polite helpful kind, caring now its just attitude. I have nothing positive to say besides after 40 years my entire family will be looking for a new clinic. You want attitude you wanna feel like they are doing you a favor this is the place to be. The people that work here need a customer service course and are forgetting they are getting paid.
Able to get a "walk-in" phone call for the next morning as I called in the afternoon. Dr. Chan was so kind in hearing my concerns and updating my prescription, he made sure I felt heard and taken care of over our brief phone call. It was really great not to feel rushed and still get quality care.
Today I called the dermatology department to make a follow-up appointment for my daughter. The medical receptionist was very rude to me and I asked her for her name and then she hung up on me. I went to the website to try to figure out how I can make a formal compliant but it is impossible to find out what the process is. I have to be honest I have had terrible experience with the receptionists at the Albany in all areas and as I read the reviews I am not the only one who feels this way. The receptionists play a very vital role and they are the "face" of the clinic. Albany needs to provide some "etiquette" training for their staff. I go there because my experience with the doctors are very good. We have Dr. Haddad and she is great! The walk-in doctors have always been fantastic too!
Edited 1 year later: staff is STILL incompetent. Why was I told to come in on family day, when the nursing station is closed? The service I receive is laughable. Nurses who don’t know what to do with my forms for a simple vaccination. Frequently given the wrong information and having my time and money wasted. This clinic is mismanaged and disorganized. I can’t come here anymore, and I advise you not to if you’re new. Old review (still the same sh!t): Walk-in clinic hours are NOT stable as they “close early based on client volume”. Would have been nice for someone to answer their phone and explain that to me before I commuted all the way there, expecting them to be open during the time that their phone line and webpages state.
This clinic has gone very downhill, I was patient for 25 Years, My dr Suddenly retired. New drs are not accepting appointment at all or till august. Very Very badly managed system. Time to move on , Felt like a discarded rag after years of loyalty, I guess loyalty has no value, this is just a money grab.
Booked a virtual appointment for 9:55am, get a call at 10:15am saying I'll get a call within 30-45 mins from a doctor. At 10:30am, my phone doesn't ring and just gets a voicemail saying call the clinic to "receive this message". Sat on hold for another 20 minutes only to be told that the doctor tried to call me, but is now with another patient so I'll have to re-book... Only their website says there's nothing available for the rest of the month. I've had the misfortune of relying on this place for a while and I'll definitely be looking elsewhere.
I have had nothing but exceptional care from every department at Albany Clinic. Walk-in clinic is fast and efficient. The reception is great. I always get fast return calls and updates from usually a woman named Emily who is sincere and friendly. I now have a family Dr with Albany. The process was painless and took less then a month which is fantastic by comparison. The life labs speciem clinic and radiology clinic both have been nothing but great especially if you are like me and you are in there often for health monitoring. I always recommend this clinic to anyone who asks.
Had a really bad experience today. Went there with my toddler for her vaccination, after waiting for about an hour, was told by the GP that the nurse is not in today and I need to come back on some other day. The staff members were rude and …
This clinic is illegally coercing their staff to get the vacks. Under the Nuremberg Code, Canadian Criminal Law and Basic Human Rights, nobody can be coerced into a medical treatment in which they don't wish to participate. Simple as that. Any employer or institution which uses its position of authority to intimidate, bully, threaten or coerce people into getting ANY medical treatment, (for example, under penalty of removal or being treated differently than everyone else) is breaking the law. EVERYONE has the right to body autonomy. This goes for ANY medical treatment or procedure you can imagine, INCLUDING periodic or constant (i.e. 2-3 times a week) intrusive testing. In short, WE are in charge of our own health and medical decisions. Not the government and not our workplaces. To make matters worse, they have taken to discussing everyone's vaccination status openly in order to publicly shame those people who are opting out. A clear violation of confidentiality laws for medical privacy. One last thing. Coercion and/or encouragement by doctors to get a medical treatment (and experimenting on the public) CANNOT be done AT ALL without INFORMED CONSENT. YOU TOOK AN OATH TO DO NO HARM, YOU HYPOCRITES! Doctors around the world are warning about the dangers of what is happening. Why aren't you? Do you list off every horrible effect people are getting around the world when you recommend this treatment? Including DEATH? (More people have died from this than from EVERY OTHER approved shot COMBINED!) Get back to me when you figure out what you've done. Better yet, beg for forgiveness... You are blindly participating in crimes against humanity. Since people are not being properly informed of the risks involved (long term or otherwise) the law is once again being broken by this clinic. (INFORMED CONSENT)
I really appreciate their quick response. During Toronto visit i had some medical issues. I could reach the doctor as a walk in patient (by call) “same “day. That is hard to imagine in Vancouver. Also they open on Sunday, too.
Unbeliveably rude, un-professional and dismissive staff booking appointments over the phone. I missed my Drs phone apt because he called at a completely random time. I was then transfered to walk in clinic where the phone was ringing for 10 mins with no answer. Get your acts together and show a little empathy! I will be transfering to a new family Dr asap...Avoid this place at all costs! Totally unprofessional!
I have a keloid scar growth on my cartilage piercing that I got referred to Dr. El Sheikh at the plastic surgery department at the Albany Medical clinic. He told me confidently during the virtual appointment that the removal procedure will be covered by OHIP so I went ahead and booked an appointment for a month and a half later. When I showed up at the clinic the day of my appointment, the receptionist told me that it'll be $600 and that she tried to call me to tell me about the charge half and hour before my appointment time but I didn't pick up. And that she didn't leave a voicemail because the doctor didn't tell her my name. This plastic surgery clinic just seems incredibly unorganized and the doctor does not even know what he is talking about. I am giving 2 stars because I have been to the actual walk in clinic for general illness and the staffs there were decent, just please don't go to the plastic surgery department here. Update after a month*** Albany Clinic sent me an invoice in the mail saying I owe them $600 for the procedure I never got, this is how unorganized this clinic is everybody, unless this is a scam they do.
I've been coming here north of 19yrs, back when it was around the corner in the ulta cramped building with a brutally narrow, 1 person only stairwell! Over the years, I've had common ailments and some uncommon, all brilliantly treated by this group. 5 years back, Dr Erin Dalke in Dermatology was the first out of a 2 year search involving at least a half dozen doctors, 3 of them dermatologists, my rare Pyoderma Gangrenosum! And it's been slow, but steady progress ever since! Reception has not been brash with me that I can ever remember, and my GP, hematologist, rheumatologist, cardiologist, and gastroenterologist have all done remarkable work keeping things in check, while we all work through this horrific illness that's taken my ability to walk. My heart goes out to those who had a less than stellar experience with reception, as the rest of the group, nurses included, obviously love their job!
I went in at 8.30 this morning for a puncture wound on my foot. They admitted me to a doctor within 2 minutes, who gave me stitches and very attentive care as well as articulately explaining what I should be looking out for, next steps, etc. I was really impressed with the service here. The building is old and the wait room isn't bright and fresh, but I didn't care as the efficiency and care of the staff was a far better experience then going to the hospital. Thank you!
The Walk-In Clinic was amazing - especially Dr. Haddad, X-ray department and the nurse aid. Quick and precise assessment. Would definitely recommend them.
I had a very positive experience in here today. The staff were friendly, and welcoming. It was my first time going to this walk in clinic. I came on a Monday around noon, and did not wait long at all. The doctor I saw was also very kind and understanding. I would definitely recommend this walk in clinic, and I'm likely to return to this clinic if I ever need to again :)
Worse experience on Sunday 16th Jan 2022. No one answers the phone. Eventually got through to the answering service and was told I don't need to book an appointment on Sundays. Walk-in from 9am. about 9:20 am receptionist showed up at the door not to open, but to inform myself and others "you have to book an appointment". At that point I had enough of the BS. Avoid if possible. Service sucks!
I love my doctor. She's been seeing me for over 6 years now and I never have to wait more then 5 minutes to get in. I'm not sure about anyone else there but my experience with Dr. Kusenthiran has been amazing so far! I would recommend her …
I’ve had pleasant interactions with most of the staff here, including my doctor, who is fantastic. But I recently had a terrible experience with an ultrasound technician who was abrupt, inconsiderate, harsh and simply just rude. Considering she’s dealing with vulnerable people who are potentially anxious and stressed out about their health, I could only see her leaving people feeling worse than when they arrived.
I have waited patiently for over 1 hour on hold just to hung up on when it's was my turn. Then my two daughters called also and we were put on hold, just to hung up on for the second and third time.
I am extremely upset and disapointed by what has happened to me at this clinic. Dr. Jangra has been my family Dr. for 2-3 years now and he was adamant to get me on antidepressants. I finally decided after two years to try and I'm glad I did because they've been helping me a lot with anxiety. He told me to call back to discuss my medication and refill my prescription. It took me two weeks to get an appointment which is fine. He told me he would send two months refill to my pharmacy. I do not drive and biked 30 minutes to get it and it was not sent in. The clinic was faxed for authorization and they said NO. My pharmacy faxed them again with a note explaining I had an appointment for this and how important it is I get the medication as it is very bad to just go off of Zoloft and they said NO again. This has caused me severe anxiety and an anxiety attack. I have had to go to a walk in twice for my medication because they never send my prescriptions in. Needless to say I am never coming back ever again and this has not been good for my already not great mental health.
I rang about a fractured vertabrae at 12:00pm on July 23rd. The receptionist I got through to was extremely rude. I was looking for a family doctor to help oversee my healing. When I explained my condition - she was cold and short and didn’t ask any of my symptoms or showed any empathy. She said there was nothing she could do and hung up as fast as she could. I was feeling really upset after the call due to the pain and stress I’m in. This clinic is not personal at all - and you’re just a number. I’d go somewhere where the staff have a bit more humanity. 1/5.
For the most part, I have had exemplary treatment at the Albany. For example: I've been sent for unscheduled x-rays, and been back up in my doctor's office with them in hand 15 minutes later. And I've had my doctor come looking for me when I was getting blood drawn at their lab, because he heard that I wanted to talk to him. Most of the bad experiences were with ???????????????????? ????????????????????????????????. (Miserable, rude, demanding patients, are an everyday occurance for the staff to handle.) There are far too many wonderful staff to name them all, but Adelina, Bev, Larissa, & Margie have just the kind of caring, good humoured, professional skills that you need when you're not feeling well. Thank you, all. ❤️
I have been a patient, and still is, of Albany clinic for over twenty years, even when the clinic was on Danforth. I feel that I should mention how I have been pleased and lucky to be able to walk there for necessary blood tests or all their other services. . The doctors, in case of emergency, are fast and caring and send you immediately to the X rays department, ultrasounds, physiotherapy etc. All the staff and medical professionals are extremely kind, polite and caring and particularly the physiotherapy team. I highly recommend Albany Clinic for all you medical care.
It is a good clinic with every service available in the same place. Their walk-in clinic typically has a wait of about 1 hour, which is relatively short for Toronto standard. Their medical staff is courteous and it is a nice experience to be there. I saw a mother bringing in her baby to the clinic and they prioritize her visit, which I think is actually a nice thing to do. X-ray does not need appointment and is super fast.
Wait times are long. Walk in clinic front desks staff can be rude. Great doctors and lots of services in house. This is a great location if you take TTC
Slow responses. Poor follow-up. Delayed appointments that should be face to face. All to pump more through the system to make more money for themselves at the expense of patients. Min 20 min wait times on calls usually its more like 30-40. Health system is screwed and these guys are both a cause and a symptom of the problem.
My family physician is great, she is very polite, understanding and sympathetic. She is caring and comforting. However, I can’t say good things about the receptionists and other staff there who are arrogant and rude. They treat you like …
My family GP is at the Albany Clinic (shout out to Dr. Roy!!!), but I would also like to take a moment to share my experience for the walkin clinic. My husband just had a scary medical event involving his eye. The walk in booked an immediate appointment, via video call, and requested photos, so that he could start off with a course of treatment, and what to look for in case his symptoms worsen. I know sometimes the the staff are busy, but these docs are truly the best in Toronto. I would rather deal with an abrupt receptionist, and the best doctors in the city.
In Albany clinic I have just good experiences. The costumer service is good, the doctors are very patient and good too. Sometimes I can guess that the staff is a bit stressed(I believe because of the high amount of people that call everyday and the COVID-19) but, in my honest opinion, definitely they are not rude. Thank you so much for your costumer service.
I started going to their walk in when I first moved to the city from the suburbs. It was tough to get to my old family doctor. Waits were always long but that was expected. I then ended up seeing Dr. Jessamy as my family doctor and can I just say, she’s the best! Honestly! I love how everything is in the building that I could ever need. The only thing I’d say is, some of the receptionist son the 3rd floor to the left, can be a little rude. But, it’s my go to place!
This review is specifically for Dr. Tao Allan. I've had many positive experiences with this clinic and will continue to use them. However, I hope I can avoid conversing with Dr. Allan ever again. I've never felt so defeated after speaking with a doctor. I had a list of concerns to go over with him and he was quick, dismissive, and overall quite rude. I left the call crying and feeling really unpleasant. He could tell I was getting frustrated and rather than helping me, he was sarcastic and rude and made me feel a lot worse. Why put patients through the misery of feeling worse after a call, when they're probably not feeling the best in the first place.... I wish he could have been more empathetic. It’s COVID times so I’m understanding of the amount of calls they are receiving and patients they are diagnosing. I don’t think that should take away from the quality of a 10 minute call with a patient.
I'm happy with the clinic and its services. When many clinics were closed off because of the pandemic, this one managed to see a loved one to help diagnose an injury. Virtual and phone appointments were good.
Website is easy to use and doctor was pleasant to talk to. The phone reception was quite rude though, sounded like someone who didn't want to be there. But it's a tough job. So if you can book appointments via the website, do that.
I was at the the walk-in clinic today and saw Dr. Thomas Fung. Although the virtual appointment system is redundant and annoying I had a great experience once I made it to a physical appoitment. Dr. Thomas Fung was wonderful. He was positive, he listened to me and made it the best experience I have had in a long time. I was getting something very painful looked at and he could not have made it go smoother. I appreciate it! Thank you!
I second a complaint about Dr Tao Allan. Absolutely horrific manner, sarcastic, not emphatic. Also, the clinic itself needs to be reported to the ombudsman. My regular family doctor is great, but the reception is a joke. I tried making appointment today and there is nothing available in their online calendar for a month. Walk In Clinic calls are not showing at all, I called the reception and they logged my appointment request and said the doctor will call me sometime today, refused to give me time, yelled at me etc. I need to change this clinic.
Around 4 yrs earlier we changed my family physician. We chose Dr Olsheski. Ever since we are with him. He had been always very efficient; knowledgeable and helpful. He always gives us patience hearing and does his best to help us with all medical needs. The facility has a lot of service under the same roof. It's been very convenient for all my family members to access services here at this location. Sometimes there is a bit of wait on the walk in but considering the location of the place and quality of services we should not complain about it. It's at the heart of the city and very conveniently located. I am very satisfied so far with their services. Would recommend the clinic to all my friends and family. Great clinic. Asma
I've had really good docs here. Everything is connected which makes referrals and access easy. The one down side? Their reception and admin staff. Truly the most apathetic ppl I've ever met. Not rude. They simply don't care. Particularly when ppl visit on their worst days.
After a few bad experiences, and no way of contacting the clinic via email to share my concerns/complaints (and not being willing to under 30-90 minutes on the phone) I feel compelled to write a review. My most recent experience; I went into the clinic for a mole removal in my armpit. Not the most pleasant doctor's appointment, but nonetheless I was on the table and expressed nervousness about having a needle in my armpit for freezing where the nurse replied that she 'didn't believe me' because of my having tattoos. And while it's annoying when healthcare professionals are needlessly obtuse about needles into your dermis vs injecting freezing into your armpit/having blood drawn etc-- she went ahead to grab my hand to point out I had tattoos there and then reached over and grabbed my ear to continue her point that I can't be nervous in light of that? It's not the best bedside manner to discount patient fears, and that's one thing-- but to physically touch/grab other parts of my body while I am laying down, shirt-off and waiting for a needle all for the purpose of embarrassing me/discounting me is shocking. Under no circumstance should a healthcare professional be touching parts of someone's body that aren't being treated, especially in such a vulnerable position. I've had my family doctor at Albany leave the practice with no warning, no phone call-- leaving me , completely unaware and without a family physician for a few months until I tried to book an appointment. And, I've had a few abrasive doctors treat me in the walk-in-- notably a doctor who vehemently denied the *very well known* side effects I was experiencing from my IUD and tried to discourage removal, stating the side effects that started shortly after insertion and stopped shortly after removal, were actually my own physiology and psychology. Rude staff is one thing, but after all these experiences I would personally never, ever go to this clinic again under any circumstances.
This is a review for Dr.Mohan. If you are in search of a Doctor who goes the extra mile, Dr.Mohan is the doctor you want. Knowledgeable. Practices what he preaches. Always makes times. Ensures you fully understand the scenario at hand. Attentive. Hands down the best doctor I have had.
I had a very bad cut on my finger and the doc that I saw on Sunday terrible.. I don't understand how he is a doc.. I'm upset that he even gets pay.. he should be doing something else.. I hope he gets fired. DONT GO TO THIS WLAKING CLINIC ...
My family doctor has always been hit or miss when it comes to getting an appointment. The walk in clinic used to be the saving grace, but they have gone downhill now also. I’ll be look for a new doctor and clinic moving forward.
Shame on you Albany Clinic. Had an allergist appt set up for my 5yr old a month ahead. Had a physio appt booked for her at Sick Kids same day. Day before appt, Albany calls to reschedule the time because the doctor has to leave in the afternoon. Reschedule the physio appt for a different day to still make it to Albany. They call the morning of appt to ask we come in in one hour. I tell them it’s impossible because we physically can’t get there fast enough. Show up at the clinic 15 minutes late. Getting a 5 year old dressed, pouring rain, traffic and finding parking there was not easy! The doctor already left!! So you know a month before that we are coming. We make arrangements. Miss a day of school. Take a day off work. Work around your schedule to book another medical appt. and you try to change the appt 2 times in 24 hours and then don’t even wait?! If you had a meeting, how is it that you leave for it when we would have still been there for the allergy test during that time?
The receptionists of the walk-in clinic are extremely impatient and short with the patients. This kind of treatment of the patients will surely affect your google reviews. The doctors are nice, but receptionists need to work on their tone.
Sadly the Albany was a very good walkin. Now, there system for booking and call back for the walk-in doesn't work. I have tried on 4 separate occasions to book online and then I called and left a message. They say they return calls and they never did.
Bad experience. Receptionist at the walking needs to be changed. The lady at the walk in reception is rude in the phone and doesn't want to help people or guide them to help their needs, why is she doing this job if she …
I would like to compliment Albany Clinic on their quick and efficient handling of the Covid 19 shots. My appointment was for 9:40 and my shot was given at 9:43. I don't think you can beat that. Thank you
Poor and rude costumer service, i called the walk in and the lady who is picking up the phones is rude and seems like she doesnt even want to do this anymore, i just found out my fiance is pregnant witch i told the lady and need it to go for a first time checkup and the woman at the reception was very rude and didnt want to book the appointment. I would not recomend this clinic due to the poor costumer service and lack of professional receptionist at the walk in clinic.
My doctor (Dr. Fung) is the best! However, I’m putting this review on so that I’m hoping SOMEONE from management sees this and gets reception more help or someone in Ops address the lack of responsiveness on the phone lines. Always excessive wait times, and today 3 calls later and total combined wait of 50 mins… No answer during business hours. Booking online only works sometimes - as of now nothing available with my doc or walk-in for 2 months. Clearly an error. People here are amazing when you get to talk to someone. But that is rare.
I have enjoyed having my family doctor here for years as I can get all testing done in one shot without having to go around the city. As someone with a chronic condition this is very very helpful. I do see alot of posts about the walk in clinic hours. With all walk in clinics you must give yourself 1.5 hours to see a docter. The average around the city is far worse then that and I have never waited more then 55 mins to see a docter at the walk in clinic. I also look on google to see what the busy times are and try to work around that. Just an idea for those that need to go in.
The services here are alright, however, it is very difficult to reach the specialists offices over the phone to book an appointment. The receptionists don’t even speak to me before placing on hold, sometimes I wait for a very long time before someone picks up and usually not a very pleasant experience over the phone.
Worst clinic , nobody is answering calls U can’t even leave a message. They keep transferring ur calls and waited for ages , until u get fed up waiting . Go to another clinic avoid this place .
Looked like a good start with the ability to get a virtual appointment. Called at 9am to make an appointment, quick callback at 9:15 for them to confirm some information. Expected call between 11am and 1pm. At 3pm having not received a call we called them. They said they had called us at 11:30 but our call logs did not show a call. No problem, they would call us back in the next hour. At 3:45 they called to say that they would not have time to have a doctor call us today. We explained the urgency of our situation but they could not help. Will call is tomorrow. Completely mismanaged. If it were my business I would find a way to make it right. Unfortunately, this confirms that things have not changed at the Albany clinic. Avoid if possible or if there are other options.
Having a family doctor here is fine, but it takes about 30 to 45 minutes to get through to reception to make an appointment, which is about what you wait for a walk-in clinic. You should just go somewhere better until they hire enough staff to answer their incoming calls. The budget cuts hurt the clinic hard, and it's pretty sad. I've been going here for 18 years, and they've got some great staff and doctors, just not enough. I should also mention they are well equipped -- they have lab and stuff in the building so you can get everything done, even tests, xrays, and ultrasound, and heart tests there. They also have an online booking thing now so it's a lot easier that way, but getting through on phone is still difficult as of May 2021.
I've been coming to this clinic for over a decade. It has gone downhill in the past several years. There is a lack of communication between departments. Reception is terrible. They will transfer your call and nobody will pick up and they just keep you on hold. This is a regular occurance. Wait times for getting through are long. The only convenience is having the ability to do blood work and ultrasounds in the same clinic. If you are a new patient considering this clinic, I would recommend going elsewhere.
I would put zero stars if possible. Rude staff. Long call wait times. Literally the worst reception on planet earth. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
Rude admin staff... I had been calling them from 3 days for getting a follow up appointment with a particular doctor. Each day they will have a reason for doctor not being available. That's not it, one of the staff who gave me a call back on Tue told me that the doctor will be available the next day and hence I called on Wednesday, this time when I asked for phone appointment, they again quoted doc's unavailability. I mentioned that i was told that the doctor will be available today, so the staff member on call said that doctors are also human beings you know. I mean what did I say to offend her! I simply asked.
This review isn't directed at the staff working the at the labs, dentistry or reception areas of the Albany Clinic but one doctor in particular who works there. …
I love my Dr, but the reception team needs work. They are not honest when they claim they tried to contact you, when there is zero evidence that they did. They play a good game of pass the buck, transferring you repeatedly to "the right person" and eventually hang up on you. Good luck getting appointments, you may wait a week for one, and then send you an email to cancel, and you'll have to wait another week. I'd be surprised if the appointment actually gets booked. Very upsetting and frustrating experience.
Been coming here for 12 years. My family doctor is great and when he's fully booked for a while I just see someone else and always had a good experience. I've also been referred to a dermatologist in the same building and shes also really great. Ive surprisingly never had a rude receptionist despite all the reviews ????
This is the best clinic in Toronto! Where else can you find a team of wonderful, friendly Doctors and other staff. Been going to this clinic ever since I was a kid when it was located on the Danforth around the corner from Broadview Station. My kids who are adults now go there. If you want a clinic that's open everyday of the year accept x-mas then the Albany clinic is the place to go!
Most reviews are regarding the walk-in, but they seem to hire great family doctors. I absolutely love my family doctor. I am also happy they are now using online appointment booking. Their additional services are quick and since everything is central, operations run smoothly. Overall, I am very happy with my family doctor and the other services they provide.
If you are late to your appointment, expect to get a nasty message form the doctor, even if you called ahead and said that you might be late because of traffic. Also prepare your self for a long waiting. You will never see the doctor on time, you could wait for an hour before you see the doctor and for sure no one will say sorry for the delay. Miss your appointment and you will get a bill in your mail, but if they are late, then it is legitimate This is not just about this clinic it is,about the whole stupid health system
I have been visiting the Albany clinic for about 20 years, both at their old location on Danforth, and their current location on Broadview. Each appointment has been professional. Test results have been accurate, and promptly delivered …
Quite upset following a visit I had here. I visited with symptoms of Strep Throat where I was tested and provided with a prescription for antibiotics. The only thing that made my hour and a half wait time at the clinic was the Doctor I had seen that day. In regards to my follow up - i was not contacted about the results of my test. I decided to phone the office to ask what was happening. The office claimed the doctor probably hadn't looked at them yet and he would get back to me. Well I never heard from them again until 2 weeks later where I received a letter through mail that the doctor is requesting I return for my results when I feel better in terms of my symptoms. Wouldn't it have made sense when I phoned to confirm my phone number when I asked for the results..... No instead they send me a letter saying they cannot reach me. I then tried phoning the clinic to ask if it was necessary to come back or if I can just move on because I am feeling better. Well - I waited on hold for about 20 minutes with NO answer. I will not be visiting this clinic ever again. Extremely disappointed in the healthcare from this office. Such a waste of time.
Good clinic with every service all in one place. Wait times are generally nil to very reasonable for specialists, and I have seen a few. Staff are usually professional and pleasant for the most part. My own family doctor is ALWAYs on …
Dr Tao Allan is a kind and caring doctor who listens before jumping to conclusions, however I can't say good things about most of the staff here. As many reviewers have mentioned, the reception is often rude, unhelpful, or incompetent. Most times I call to book an appointment I expect 10-30 minutes of waiting, if I don't get hung up on first. Dr Connie Wong and Dr Gill should not be anywhere near psychiatry or psychology and I'm so grateful I stopped seeing them in favor of doctors who actually listen to their patients concerns before giving advice. Dr Wong gave me some horrible life advice (to just break up with my partner, when it was obvious I was the problem) instead of proper therapy. Dr Gill refused to listen to my concerns if they didn't fall under his questionnaire which lacked the nuance required to treat my problems. I feel like a good psych should be open to keeping up with modern mental health research, however most of them are stuck working with outdated information from outdated manuals in a field that is constantly evolving. Bonus negative points to Dr Gill who refused to book me an appointment for March unless I got a COVID-negative test in January, a test with results that are only relevant for 2 weeks. How can anyone be expected to trust such an illogical person with their health? The physio department was also mostly unhelpful (kind, but unhelpful when it came to reassessing their misdiagnosed treatments), but I guess get what you pay for when the appointments are only $50. The only silver lining I have from this clinic is that it taught me to be more discerning with who I trust with my health. I am doing a lot better now that I've found better doctors.
I waited OVER TWO HOURS on hold to book an appointment, after requesting THREE call backs that were never returned, and they disconnected me when I was finally first in line. I had to listen to the same messages replay every 30 seconds, along with the worst little five bars of adult contemporary jazz I have ever heard, and I didn’t even get an appointment. ALL I NEED IS A BASIC PRESCRIPTION RENEWAL! The staff has always been rude and abrasive at this clinic, but this goes beyond incompetence. If anyone should be seeing a doctor, it’s the receptionists who can’t even function capably enough to operate a telephone.
You cannot see a doctor 2 years into a pandemic. Its pathetic. All the doctors will definitely see a surge in patients because of the NEGLECT that i and several of my family members are experiencing. Dr.Olsheskis secretaries have to be theeeee worst. Ever. Including the walk in desk minders. I call them that because they are so cold. They shouldnt have human beings working in the health care industry and not be willing to take the extra measures needed when dealing with sick and injured people. Im apalled at the service in this clinic since the start of this B.S
I was referred to this clinic by one of my colleagues very very last minute and decided to give it a try. I needed to get a last minute mmr booster for my measles immunity, when my other walk in clinic in my area had closed that day. I booked an appointment, and someone had reached out to me just after 11:30 that day. They were slightly booked but managed to squeeze me in last minute. Once I was there, I didn’t have to wait for too long. Once I was called in I was out within 10 minutes. It’s also very spacious and social distancing measures was definitely met. Staff themselves were very pleasant and kind.
I went to DR GILL in PHYCHIATRY for a family member. DO NOT GO TO HIM. I had medical records from previous diagnosis of the patient from two doctors but he totally disregarded them. The patient was on medication and was not showing any signs due to that, so I suggested that give me a follow up appointment, we will stop the medication so that you can diagnose more precisely to which he replied... I DONT DO FOLLOW UPS.... WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!! Worse, now the patient thinks he don't have any problems, so he stopped the medication, and is also not ready to see a psychiatrist again in the future, and thinks the family is trying to prove him to be a psychiatric patient, making my life way more difficult than it was before we saw this quack. I wish I could give him -5* DONT GO TO HIM, FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR! DR GILL WHO GAVE YOU THAT DEGREE!!!
The phone answering service at the Albany Clinic, Toronto is atrocious, and I suggest worse than that of a third world country, much worse. I waited in the queue for one hour before deciding to push 1 for a call back which didn't happen until the after hour staff, whom I found was calling from Vancouver, returned the call. The after hour answering service then advised me to call back as their walk in clinic was open until 8:00 PM. I called again and was shortly reconnected to their after hour answering service.. again. I gave up on further attempts for the day. I attempted calling the Albany Clinic the following day with similar results. I then called the Clinic once again and asked to speak to my family doctor's receptionist and was again placed in her queue with three ahead of me. I waited online for another hour with the queue remaining at three for the duration. I finally gave up on that idea. I called back and asked for the walk in clinic doctor. He finally called me back four hours later, just before quitting time and was able to help. My suggestion, to stay away from the Albany Clinic at all costs as they don't consider themselves essential to your health. The family doctors who work there aren't the problem, but contacting the clinic sure is an issue. Medical service here in Ontario is badly broken and as mentioned, I feel you would expect to receive better service in a third world country than from the Albany Clinic, Toronto.
Waited 30 mins to book a “Dr. call” at 8am. Got called from admin staff 20 mins before Dr call at 1010am to say he was going to call. Dr. called, got physical appointment. Not too bad. It was organized.
