We've had service before from you. Not all great experiences only if it wasn't for Rick. He always went above and beyond to help us. Spent hours on my husband's chair. Thank you Rick!!! Feb 3rd we called for service again only to be told we'd have to wait till the 17th. We called on the17th to be told our service in your queue was for 27th. Wrong!!! Now we're told service to be provided on 23 due to an illness???? Why werent we told this before the 17th???So 2 whole weeks without service and no offers for a replacement chair in the meantime??? Why doesn't management offer this!??? My husband and I are fully aware that COVID has been an inconvenience for all of us but this was not the point. After our initial call on the 3, we understood it would take time, hence, his chair to be picked up on the 17th. Yet on the 17 we called again only to be told " our system shows the 27th".? And no explanation was given as to why. After having posted my views on your site on the 17th, within a few hours, Jason Gatche called us. He agreed that the lady who told us this information shouldn't have handled us this way, without explaining why the extended date. Maybe in the future, you could train your staff how to respond accordingly as per your explanation. It can make a difference. My question still stands. Why can't loaner equipment be provided during those extended periods for your customers?
Our OT from the North Shore Home and Community Care Program contacted HME to provide a hospital bed for my dad under the palliative program. Matt from HME arrived earlier than promised in a snowstorm and assembled the bed quickly and efficiently. Matt showed great compassion in a sensitive situation.
I called HME in July 0f 2018 about getting a stairlift for my father in law. I was impressed right away that the sales rep came out that week and provided a written estimate and had units in stock. Unlike other dealers, HME was able to quickly assess and do the installation, as my father needed the unit installed to get discharged from Surrey memorial hospital. The HME techs (lorenz) did great job installing the unit! I selected HME due to the favourable reviews, and i am happy to add my name to list of happy clients!

My elderly father was discharged from hospital recently and required a specialized wheelchair and bed mattress prior to leaving hospital. With very short notice, Tracey (HME rep) arranged for a physical assessment and personalized “fitting”, and provided Dad with the support items he needed on a rental basis. Tracey’s knowledge, efficiency and organization greatly helped with Dad’s transition from hospital to home. And since his long term needs are still yet unknown, it is a relief to know we have the option of “rent to own” available to us with HME. Thank you, Tracey!

My elderly mother lives in a long-term care facility and can no longer walk. I was advised one recent evening that her wheelchair was broken and locked in a tilted back position. I left a voice message and received a return call from Gavin within a few hours. He advised me that he had already sent a technician to look at her wheelchair. I met with Mark who promptly diagnosed and repaired the wheelchair. He was courteous and thorough. We have been customers of HME Richmond for several years and would highly recommend them.

We purchased a wheelchair for my mother in fall of 2015 - from the initial impression of the nice showroom, to the dedicated sales rep (Jeff), and after service team of techs we have had excellent service from HME. We have recommended HME to a few other friends needing products, who have also all had good experiences, and would recommend using them!
Used HME last week to get my father home, and I was so impressed! I called quite a few places last Friday to get a discharge from St Paul's - HME was the only company that could come out that day, and they sent a lovely staff member out at 6pm on the Friday to setup the bed and wheelchair - Big thank you, amazing service!!
The service was very quick We needed a bed to bring my mom home from the hospital - they where very quick to deliver But as it turned out my mom had to go Back to the hospital as she had had another stroke when I phoned to find out about the return policy they told me it was 30 days rental. No refunds on early returns We had the bed for 2 days only so I was very disappointed that that information wasn’t given up front - important information so I would not recommend this company as they took advantage of people who are in distress mode I would have gladly paid for a week if the rental price - but a full month is highway robbery - shame on them
Before I was discharged from the hospital with very bad injuries to my hand and pelvis I was introduced to HME and Tracy Krotech. Tracy was the one who assisted me all along to obtain the right equipment and to make sure it was suitable to my needs when I got home. After I got home she also came to my Apt to make sure everything was ok. Her Knowledge of products was excellent and her efforts to help me went above and beyond my expectations. I deeply appreciate it and thank you to her and her team.

I have had the best experience in dealing with HME. The Customer service I received from Robert Fuzesi and Nicole Saxvik has been exemplary! They have been with me throughout the journey of purchasing mobility equipment for my Mother who suffered a stroke that incapacitated her whole left side. They worked with our occupational and physiotherapist therapist to determine what my mother needed. They provided recommendations and options on equipment that saved us from a costly renovations in their home. They came either to the hospital and to our home to make it convenient for our family. If we had any problems they were a phone call away and they make house calls! If you are in need of mobility equipment this is the team to call. I highly recommend HME and Robert and Nicole. Thank you for making my life easier in caring for my Mum.

Had both HME and ACORN STAIRLIFTS give me quotes for my Mom and in the end we went with ACORN because the HME sales rep outright "LIED" about the ACORN product being made in China which is completely FALSE! Their Product is all made in the U.K. and their motors are made in Scotland. The Bruno product seems OK but Acorn lift looks much nicer on my Moms curved Staircase. But when a salesperson LIES I would never do business with them. My advice HME focus on the product your selling, you made it easy for me to choose ACORN. (I'm writing this review 7 months later because a friend got the same 2 quotes and we had a good laugh that at least the HME's lies are consistent) Response to Owner: What you say is just NOT true, i did my research and you can only say what you think to be true and what you want others to read when they read this review. You don't work for ACORN and can not know what you don't know. Your truth is speculation and after receiving an email from the owner himself "John Jakes" (well his assistant on his behalf) ensuring me the product and parts are NOT made in China (the only part made outside the UK is the seat-post which is made in Taiwan) I tend to believe him and regardless of what you say ACORN does a $1,000,000 a day in sales very hard to believe all those people could be wrong. Consumer reports can be very misleading (do you believe everything you read on the internet?) when you lap ALL the competition in combined sales your volume of customer reviews exponentially increase. As a small business owner you simply represent a product and have zero control over the products Quality, what happens when you go out of business who will service what you sold? Bruno has NO direct from manufacturer localized representation. *One other thing 27 reviews all 5 star? what to did you say or pay to make that happen?

Bought a stairlift for my parents thru Prerna. She was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and patient in answering all our questions. She even had a Chinese brochure for my parents to read over which was very helpful! Installation was quick and well done. We are very happy with the customer service this company provides and will definitely recommend Prerna/HME to our friends and family.

We purchased a stairlift in February of 2018 from HME in Richmond location. We were really impressed with the staff, and service team. From the sales rep (Eli) to the installer, the whole process was excellent. We researched a lot of companies, and HME came on top, thank you for service!
I inquired about rental wheelchairs for a relative while visiting Vancouver. Nichole LeBlanc was very helpful via email and would even respond outside of normal business hours due to the time difference. Staff at the showroom were also very helpful and the rental process (pick up and drop off) was smooth. Rates are also good. Too bad they dont offer a daily or weekly rate as we only needed the wheelchair for 4 days but the monthly rate wasn't too bad so we still went ahead and rented it. The wheelchair we received was in very good condition.
Their consultant Prerna is very helpful She is very knowledgable about their products and very professional. She understand our needs and our limitations. The installation personnel is friendly and very professional. The starlift has given us a peace of mind and no hustles on installation. Highly recommended this company's product.
Eli was the rep. who helped me to choose the stair lift he was really knowledgeable and explained me everything so well that it was not hard for me to make the decision and I bought two stair lifts from him and the lifts were installed professionally without making any mess and quickly. I'm an occupational therapist and have worked with Rob Fuzesi and Kristy Fredericks from HME for the past 4 years and want to state that they are two of the most efficient and professional equipment technicians I've ever worked with as a seasoned (30 + years) OT. They are prompt to return calls and emails, knowledgeable and resourceful regarding sourcing desired equipment, and are upbeat and positive. Good Team!!
I was going alone to rental a wheelchair. When I left, I needed to hold the door by myself and to push the chair out. I dropped the chair and kept holding the door. So frustrated. There were four staffs at the counter but no one even gave a look after the big hitting the ground sound was made.
Had a transaction with this company in the past, came back to consider HME again for a stair lift. Highly recommend its sales rep. Ms. Prerna Thapar. Compared quotes from several companies, all have the same chair model and are about the same in pricing and delivery time. I came back to HME for Ms. Prerna Thapar - calm, thorough handling of paperworks and oversight of the process. She should be more than a sales representative in my opinion. Overall, good company.
I went to HME about access ramp detailing a week ago. There, I met someone who has no knowledge about design specs or building code issues. Further, she appeared to be unsocialized. She kept interrupting me until I lost my patience and ran out of the place. I'll never go back because I'm afraid of meeting her again. It's more than just sales training. It's about personality. HME should be more careful about who occupies their store.
Best Paediatric Equipment Service Provider : My daughter is special need and wheelchair bound. She uses multiple equipment for her daily activities. We highly rely on the proper functioning of the equipment all the time. Prerna, from paediatric seating and mobility was the best person to connect with. Her expertise in her area is awesome. She knows and loves what she does. She helped us find the right equipment for my daughter. She helped us pick the right mattress, bed, hip abduction wedge and many other units very easily. She has also helped us with lifting devices and slings. I highly recommend her for any paediatric needs. I had an excellent experience with HME. The customer service staff were friendly and helpful, a wide selection on offer and installation of the stairlift was painless. I was fortunate to have dealt with Eli throughout most of the experience and he is without a doubt, one of the best sales consultants i have ever met. Looks out for the customers and only has their best interests at heart.
This place is a complete joke!! Disorganized unfriendly and out right rude!! I have had nothing but problems with these guys for the last 15 months. Promising things will be here and never show up. Parts that are never ordered even though they say there are. Never return messages or calls back. I’ve gotten a brand new quantum chair that’s a complete lemon. Stuff breaking rattling falling off. 4 sets of batteries in one year. Wow!! Everything that could go wrong with it. Does. Taking my chair for days on end leaving me basically bed ridden a few times now. And the customer service is atrocious!! From the people answering the phones to the sales reps to the techs who come out and fix my chair. I’ve given them a lot of work in the last 1.5 years but like anyone can only stake someone much!! I’m going to start using someone else for all my mobility needs.
Hme is a great place to work, the management is exceptional they reward hard work. Expectations are high but so is the reward for those willing to put In the extra effort. Hme has many opportunities for advancement for those with a career mindset.The staff is excellent very friendly and all are awesome to work with. Everyone seams to be very helpful so starting out here is easy if you show initiative and some interest in learning.
March 17 2017 I am pleased to write this review about my experience with HME Richmond. About 2 weeks ago I made my first contact with HME, My call was answered promptly and useful info. given. Their representative, Prerna, came to my home to discuss the installation of a stairlift. She was extremely knowledgeable and patient. No hard sell at all. I had a lot of questions, she answered all of them in detail and spent a lot of time doing so. Installation was arranged to suit me. Their installer, Jason, came on time.And suggested he do the necessary cutting outside to avoid bothering us with the noise! He worked efficiently and again took lots of time to explain the chair lift features. He didn't leave until he was satisfied that I was familiar with the lift operation and its' maintenance. Again I was impressed by the amount of time he took and his manner. The Elan chairlift has made me life a lot easier. HME provided us with seamless,considerate service from start to finish.I had contacted 3 other companies And am glad I chose this one. I have no hesitation in highly recommendIngHME.. Went to HME Mobility to buy some Pillow Paws socks. I was about to pay the lady at the front desk with my credit card and she asks me for my driver’s license. What? Are you serious? Do you think I was about to use a stolen credit card? This lady was so rude. Never have I been asked for a driver’s license when buying socks!
A few months ago I was looking to buy a rollator for my father who had fallen and broken his hip. I contacted Prerna Thapar at HME and she helped me out immensely. I went to the showroom to meet with Prerna in person. There were so many different brands and varieties available. I was feeling overwhelmed. Prerna completed a quick assessment and she did a wonderful job explaining all the different features and qualities of each rollator. She answered all of my questions and helped me choose the right rollator for my father. My father is so happy with his rollator that has helped him gain his mobility back! I would most definitely recommend HME and Prerna to anyone who is looking for these types of equipment. Prerna is an excellent, knowledgeable, and caring seating and mobility consultant. She goes above and beyond to ensure her clients are fully satisfied with the devices that they receive.

HME was recommended to my husband from one of the staff at his Dialysis unit to purchase a chair lift. When Gavin, the representative for HME came to our home he was so kind and informative. He didn't try to rush us into making a decision. A few days later we had the chairlift installed.The 2 fellows that installed it were very professional and took their time to explain how the system worked and did an excellent job. Overall we would not hesitate to recommend HME to anyone that needs medical equipment.
My mom needed some assistance with getting up from using the toilet in her bathroom. I was referred to HME by a close friend. David one of HME's sales consultants was very knowledgeable, and understanding of my mom's physical limitations. He was able to choose the right equipment for my mom's bathroom which were grab bar handles to assist her in standing up when getting off the toilet. Overall, David's professionalism, outstanding level of expertise in medical equipment and kindness made for an awesome experience. I would highly recommend David from HME to anyone in need of help with medical equipment.
Dear Reader, Our acquaintance with HME Mobility and Accessibility, started in 2016, when we wanted to purchase some new products. Regarding to the previous experiences and satisfaction, we contacted HME Mobility and Accessibility in Richmond office again. In January we met Mrs. Prerna. We were looking to purchase a new product called Pacer Gait Trainer. Prerna took all the time to explain us about the product and its features. She was very patient, supportive and experience. It was a pleasure meeting her. Also what I really liked about Prerna is, that she is always reachable by phone and e-mail. She answer her e-mail almost in the same hour its send. Don't believe everything you see on the web or what you hear on a rental request. Quote: "I see you are looking to rent the All Terrain Steerable Knee Scooter! We currently have these in stock in our Richmond location for rent. It is $80/month." Wrong- drove all the way to deepest Richmond to find - not available, so sorry.
Absolute soulless rip-off company who will screw over vulnerable seniors first chance they get! I suspect these reviews are fake. Stairlift catastrophically broke inside the gear box a month at the end of warranty and all they did was instantly try to sell my 80 year old parents a new one. Kept saying they’d contact the manufacturer to try and get it covered but instead just ignored us promising to call back over and over for months...nothing! Disgraceful business, I’ve never encountered anything like it, especially selling products designed for the vulnerable in society. We’ll be looking to take legal action now.
Rob and Nicole were a great team! They both were very patient with my very individual needs for a new wheelchair. It was quite a process of trial and error and experimenting.... Rob is an Ace technician and mechanic and made all kinds of adjustments on my new chair for my special needs. Nicole was absolutely giving and accommodating in arranging meetings and assisting in the process.. It is very stressful for someone reliant completely on a wheelchair's ability to become as safe but maneuverable as possible; but they came through with flying colours!!
I was travelling from Ontario a year ago and wanted to rent a rollator and was very fortunate to find this HME location. It was a quick and easy process. As a result of this experience I came back online to find the name of the retail outlet to see if there was one located in London Ontario. I don't recall if I thanked you last year. My husband also recommended your store to a family member to rent (or purchase?) a wheelchair while we were visiting. Thank you so much for making this an easy process for us when we were visiting.
After spending quite a bit of time researching vendors, i went with HME to purchase some bathroom items and stairlift for my mother, Doris. I have been really impressed with HME, the techs that installed the Bruno Elan were great, and I am so glad I selected HME, would highly recommend!
Our experience working with HME to install a chair lift in our home was easy and smooth. We worked closely with Gavin who is well informed on the product in hand as well as competitor's products to better educate us on differences with functionality, installation and maintenance. He was available when we needed in and out of regular business hours. Installers took their time and were not rushed to their next installation and rather sat down and walked us through all functions until we were comfortable. Thank you Gavin & HME team.
I bought a bed rail there for my dad. The staff there are very nice and helpful. They explained to me the various models and which ones are easier to use. I took it home and installed it, and then got a new higher mattress for my dad. Few days later my dad said the bed rail is now too low. I called the store and the lady who helped me with the sale agreed to come to my dads place to help with adjusting the bed rail. I really like this place and they have many products to help folks with mobility issues. Highly recoimend this place.
