REVIEWS OF Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre IN West Vancouver

I go to the Outpatient Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre for regular blood tests and have developed an amazing relationship with the good people there. They are wonderfully friendly and accommodating and process the results immediately. I discovered them when I needed to stop using LifeLabs (see my google review of their 750 W. Broadway location) and have never looked back!

I had a consultation appointment with the Division of Otalayrngology Head and Neck Surgery. The facility is beautiful and well laid out, the receptionist kind and efficient. I was seen by two people during the consultation, I don't …

It's a newer hospital with nice interior that makes seeing a doctor not so stressful .

I went to this clinic after a trauma. I'd gone to the hospital at night and a student came instead of the on call dentist. That was fine but it took a really long time and time seems to be of the essence when your teeth are knocked out... then I had to go in the next day for x-rays and it felt like I was just being rushed through. I couldn't really talk because of the accident so I tried to email later with questions and to get referred to a dentist closer to me. They said i would need to go to the hospital to have my question answered and they wouldn't provide me with a referral. The dentist that removed the wire holding my teeth in place filed into two of my teeth so now I have a permanent dent in two of my front teeth. Then I got a bill because they billed an insurance I didn't have and said they wouldn't accept mine even though we discussed it at the desk when I went in the first time. I never write reviews but I had such a bad experience. I would recommend going anywhere but here.

Dr. A. Tony Vermas office is full of unqualified staff. At least front staff. Poor English and absolutely poor attitude towards my mother and a family friend. Both have English as their first language. …

Beautiful outpatient facility. Bright, organized. Underground parking is present, but count on driving around the garage looking for a spot if you aren't there early in the morning, so take public transit if possible.

JOHN SHINNICK

Modern health care facility. In addition to several health disciplines, has a Healthy Heart gym (you need referral from your cardiologist) staffed by cardiac nurses and run by a cardiologist.

Gurjinder M

Tricky to find parking, even in parkade.

PROBLEMATIC BEHAVIOURS at the Cardiovascular Clinic. This is in regards to one male tech staff (with initial Y) and his inappropriate, insensitive, hostile, and unprofessional behaviour towards young vulnerable female patients. With everything that is going on in current events, you would think that VGH would not be hiring staff that is woefully ignorant of sxual harassment and cultural sensitivity issues. It is hard to believe that this type of behaviour is still occurring in this day and age, and at VGH no less. It is very upsetting and frustrating that what was supposed to be a helpful experience became shockingly harmful and damaging. I urge the management at VGH to investigate and resolve this internally, as I will not be registering a formal complaint for fear of retribution. I am very disappointed by the experiences had at VGH. Advice for any female patients reading this: request a female staff in advance if you wish to, because they will not think in advance to ask you or let you know you have options.

Wish I could give zero stars, absolutely awful. Office manager is extremely rude, and not helpful at all. Worst office manager I have ever spoken too. Went in on an emergency basis, asked specifically before anything was getting done if they needed my insurance or health care card, and if I was required to pay anything upfront. Was assured everything was covered and did not need to pay upfront. Next day I get a call asking for my credit card as I have a $700.00 dollar bill. If I would have know this before I would have gone somewhere else. Even worse, they splinted my tooth and the splint fell off a couple hours after being done. I would go to any other office in Vancouver before ever going back here

Bright light from atrium runs through 8 floors of the interior. Friendly reception staff, well managed and clean building. Busy at lunch hour inside so get to appointments early. Parking is a bit pricey but it's a max day rate of under $20.00 which isn't bad for parking next door to the hospital. Parking is closed off at midnight so if you don't get your car out, it's in there until 7am the following day (check the parking web site for specific details please!). This building is open from 7am until 7pm Monday through Friday. The parking lot is accessible via the stairs next to the parking drive entrance when the main building is closed. Shoppers and Starbucks are open after the building closes, both have exterior doors and can be entered from outside. Salad Loop (assorted salads and cold pastas), Zookaz Cafe (great food and coffee), O' Sushi (nice boxed sushi) inside and open during the day.

Staff (some) are rude and hostile with zero provocation. Very unprofessional and makes getting medical help extremely difficult. Some staff who themselves speak English as a second language are seen being racist towards people of colour. Not to mention some Caucasian staff being racist and mistreating vulnerable POC. For shame, VGH!

This building was and still is intended to be a medical center to help those who need medical attention. I think the philantropists -- who wanted their names on a building to glorify themselves -- thought this was the way to "give back". This place is aweful. When I arrived for my EMG testing, there were many homeless people milling in and about the building; I thought it to be strange, but for this place, I realized it is normal. In the public bathroom there was people shooting up with needles provided to them and they dropped off the used needles in the convenient drop-off boxes. The smell....is horrific. It is an old building in dire need of renovations or replacement. I received the test I needed & the information on my condition, to a wonderfully engaged doctor who reached out beyond her circumstances where she finds herself in; but I hope not to ever return. No way.... P.S. Don't park there; they charge $4.50 per half-hour. Everyone in the waiting room was complaining about the parking charges. Drive a few blocks and park for free. The parking is an unbelievable rip-off.

The receptionist at the Gynaecology department has been very rude to the point of hanging up the pone on me. Even when dealing with a very serious health issue the receptionist seemed to be unaware of the consequences of postponing our appointment, her mistreatment and demeanor was truly uncalled for.

Beautiful and clean building. Great outpatient services..awesome surgeons and specialists. Has sushi, Salad Loop and a cafe with a variety of scrumptious food. Parking is the typical cost for Vancouver.

the worst receptionist in the world. everytime i am on the phone with them they ruin my day.

brunosthumb

wheres the option for zero stars? absolutely horrible treatment of someone with a disability. receptionist is SO rude. Was supposed to call me back after my last appt , that was a week and a half ago, now i dont have much time to think on my dilemma because they need 2 days notice to cancel an appt. wouldnt even let me speak to the specialist or have him call me, and used the phrase " we dont do special treatment here" ... did i ask for that, i dont believe I did. its too bad because everyone else is nice and its lots of space in there for me and my service dog. now I have to figure out what to do about my teeth. so stressed out.

???? Great doctors and Great nurses but the two pharmacy ladies are miserable wanna be doctors. ???? I have left the clinic highly stressed, upset and in tears the last three visits because the Blonde and Asian wannabe doctors (who are just suppose to fill prescriptions) will NOT dispense my transplant medication correctly. The wannabes either DO NOT dispense the adequate amount of medication to get me to my next appointment so I’m short on meds OR they happily announce that a certain medication (which I’ve been on for more then 9 years) has been stopped all of a sudden. I’m like what?? STOPPED??? .... especially since I just saw the doctor 2 minutes ago and he clearly stated NO CHANGES to any medication! Pharmacy staff should strictly dispense medication and NOT be able to make any changes with out speaking to the doctor in-front of the patient.

The beautiful atrium in health center makes the rooms brighter. It's very modern and neat. It has Shoppers, mini cafes and restaurants. I dislike the noodle soup at O’ Sushi because of flavorless and it is bit small portion for the price. The underground parking lot is, alas, quite expensive. Just few blocks away from this center, better park on the streets which is free, if you are lucky to find the empty spot. Lastly, the receptionists are irritable and impolite, but the doctors and nurses are kind.
