Doctors are excellent. Very efficient on both regular and virtual appointments. Front desk staff are alright, their manners could be more professional and more pleasant. Some of them still need additional training on telephone etiquettes and organisational skills such as informing patients about information of the referral Dr., location, time and date in a sequence instead of jumping back and forth with the info.

When my amazing GP decided to end her practice, I was thinking that it would be a very difficult transition in finding a doctor that would accept new patients but she recommended Forward Care Medical Clinic to me and I was accepted quickly and easily. The receptionist service level is very professional in my opinion. They have a lot of patients calling in and patients walking in and they handle themselves very well. No abrupt attitude given to anyone everytime I was there. The doctor who sees me is named Andrew Chiu, he's very professional, gives great advice, tells it how it is, no sugar coating. The great thing about FCM is if your regular doctor is not available to treat you, any one doctor on site is capable of treating you as they have your records immediately available to see your history. I needed to see my doctor one day during this Covid time and my usual location in Oakridge Mall was booked all day, they said if it's really of great importance and I couldn't wait a day I could go to their other location on 41st Avenue and they could see me within the hour. That's just super convenient. Totally prefer this than going to a walk in clinic. I definitely would recommend Forward Care Medical Clinic to anyone looking for a new GP. 5 stars!!!

5 stars for my GP. None for the front staff. Just like the other reviews, front desk is dismissive but friendly at best. Most of the time just dismissive though. Fees are also ridiculously high. However, my GP is one of the most friendly/skilled people on the planet and it's a shame I can't give him 5 stars out of pocket. Waiting area is cramped and sometimes you wait outside if it's really full.

Completely abandoned after one of their doctors (Chan) retired. No succession planning or referrals for any of her patients, just completely left out in the cold. Many loyal patients of decades have to scramble to find new doctors, and to add insult to injury for the added privilege of abandoning their patients they charge $50 to have your files transferred over to a new doctor. I hope this racketeering nonsense of a medical clinic gets shut down for malpractice - it's the very least they deserve.

This is a busy practice, but I've never had too much trouble getting an appointment with my family doctor. It'd be nice if they had online booking or did prescription refills over the phone, but I understand as someone who manages systems for businesses that it's no small task to get such a thing setup. I always have a good experience.

I’ve been going to this busy clinic for several years. The doctors are pleasant and have good bedside manner. For urgent appointments, I’ve been fit in to an appointment same day or next day with my primary physician or another on duty physician that day. The front staff team is efficient. The clinic is quite busy most days, even during the pandemic, so expect a short wait before seeing your doctor.

I've been going to this client ever since I was born before they rebranded it to Forward Care Medical Clinic. Fiona was the go to receptionists back then. I would still go to her and highly recommend dealing with her if she is present of the time of your visit. However, with all the other receptionist I could not say the same. I have never seen a clinic that treats their patients with little to no patience and respect; regardless of your age. Some would think others would have more patience with elders. I would rate their general attitude and willingness to help a 0/5 if I could. Not very forward moving on the receptionist aspect at the Oakridge location. The East Vancouver location on 41st is a bit better from my experience. If you can overlook all that and get past the receptionist, I have no complaints with their doctors. Top notch. Quick and to the point.

Dr. Cindy Huang is my GP at this location and she's awesome. Very proactive in terms of annual testing and always on top of follow ups. The reception area always seems stressed but never misses anything.

I follow my GP wherever she goes, that's how I started coming to FCM, so as my family members. I don't find the front desk staff extremely friendly, but it seems to be busy at the front all the time and I don't have any high expectation for front desk, to be honest. All I care is our GP - she's wonderful, compassionate, caring and very knowledgeable.

I would highly recommend who ever doesn't have a family doctor to visit this clinic to apply a family doctor for their health care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Amanda Lau's at Forward Care Medical Clinic Oakridge since 2013. The care I've received from Dr. Lau, other doctors at FCM, and their support staff has been wonderful. They are attentive and really take the word "care" to heart.

Great doctors. Our family has been well taken care of by the doctors from cancer to migraine to childbirth. I have seen a lot of complaints with the receptionists here. I think most of them are pretty nice. Some sounded a bit more blunt when they are speaking in English because of some cultural differences in my opinion. For those of you who couldn’t sign up along with your family members, talk to your family doctors regarding the situation, they have the authority to override the administrative staff and put you into their system. (The administrative staff sometimes just follows the procedure mechanically)

I love my GP but this office have the worse receptionists working at the front desk! They are not friendly on the phone and there is never a time when I phone to make an appointment that I wasn't put on hold for a good 5mins. The receptionists are also not friendly in person. I never get in on time as there is always a minimum of 30 minutes of wait time but they penalize the patient for being late.

My family doctor Dr. Chan retired so suddenly. I like to stay same clinic. So thankful to the receptionist. The other doctor accepted me as her patient. I was Dr. Chan's patient for more than 20 years. I knew their receptionists who are very polite and kind to us. All doctors are great and excellent.

FCM team at both locations are great. I like how Doctors take the time to listen to your issues. The front of house is always super busy but they always manage to get things done. They have been awesome at quickly adapting to ensure the safety of the patients during the COVID pandemic.

Long time patient of this clinic and the doctors here, but this one incident involving their reception staff was just appalling. Your reception staff must disclose to all patients that there is a $50 "no show fee" even for phone call appointments. To force someone to pay this fee after a phone call was missed for legitimate reasons ESPECIALLY when it was not disclosed upon booking is borderline robbing. Please reconsider your policy surrounding phone vs. in-person appointments and/or re-train reception staff to be more considerate of patients circumstances. It seems they can greatly benefit from a lesson in using discretion. Not every patient visits the clinic frequently enough to see the notices for themselves. It is the job of the front desk receptionists to make policies transparent. Such a shame to have encountered hostility from your staff after so so many years of being a patient (my entire life so far to be exact...). To expect us to constantly bend our equally busy schedules to fit into the odd schedules of all the doctors here is impractical and a quick way to lose patients. I am starting to think I am better off finding a different practice to seek health care. The current front desk team is truly mediocre at their job at best. Edit: reply received and read. Unfortunately it missed to address the point about reception staff failing to disclose such an apparently important policy. Still not willing to admit wrongdoing?

Dr. Chang is as fine a person as one could want for a family doctor. She is kind, caring, and courteous. She has always given her time graciously, and has been helpful to our family for many years. The receptionists are always helpful, polite and nice to us.

Very rude and unhelpful receptionist. Kept telling me that I had not seen my doctor before even though this was a follow up appointment 3 months after my original appointment. She ended up slamming the phone on me because she could not understand what I was saying nor could I understand her.

Have been a customer for a few years but a little frustrated: This practice is extremely busy and has probably taken on too many doctors and patients , with an administrative pool now unable to cope and provide adequate service: - Phone lines are constantly busy . - Phone mailboxes often full and caller can not leave message. - Nil response and coverage or help on weekends. - Poor English language skills of several receptionist / secretary. Some are hard to understand. - Slow and unnecessarily complicated referral system to get specialists. - can never speak or communicate to doctor , only to the overloaded and slow response office. My family doctor, Dr. Janice Wong, she is so professional, caring and knowledgeable. She treats her patients like a good friend and really cares about her patients. I'm glad that I can have Dr. Wong as my family doctor. I feel I'm well taken care of.

I give review based on only receptionist that was very rude. I called to get result of my mammogram. I was on hold for about an hour then she picks up the phone and tells me doctor notes says he needs to see me to discuss the result of my mammogram, so I need referral to see this doctor. It was a new doctor, the one referred me was on maternity leave so I asked the right spelling of his name so I could ask my family doctor for referral and first she refused to give me saying doctor only gave me this instruction to tel you this! Then I repeated could you please spell the name! And she was so fast and inpatient and not clear so I ask again and she didn’t want to help! Very sad for people who are in needs of urgent medical procedure and has to deal with such people!

Started to see Dr Amanda Lau before they expanded from a 2 doctors office. Too business type of services instead of a "caring practice". No more than 2 questions allowed to ask even if you have not seen them for so long! The office is so crowded like a zoo! I was put on hold with that terrible ding ding music every single call & you will be told that the next appointment will be a week later! I feel sorry for those sick elderly patients if they need quick assistance! Even worst is when the elderly don't even know how to book the appointment online! Terrible office management with too many doctors working for Dr Amanda Lau, the boss, who only works 2 days a week, few hours a day. Expecting the patients to accommodate her schedules so I requested to switch to one of her staff doctors but no spaces were reserved for us, the loyal patients! I will never come back to this office again!

worse admin staff ever. calling 30 mins before appt to cancel isnt acceptable. the receptionist said she "tried calling a few days ago but no one picked up" - I said she should have left a voicemail. that's how messages work! what about work number? what about email? right. no email. because they are still in the dark ages. grr.

I walked in to Forward Care Medical Clinic and asked if they were accepting new applications. The receptionist said yes and gave me the application form. I filled and gave to them. They said they would call for the first appointment WHICH they never did. I call to followed up and I was told by the rudest receptionist that Dr. Sung is not accepting new patients. I request to talk to another person as she was extremely rude to me. The next person was the same, told me I was in the waiting list and hang up. I cannot believe a medical office treat people like that. What a shame!

I've always had prompt service unlike other medical clinics. I never had to wait for more than 5-10 min past my appointment time. The doctors we've seen so far are all friendly and addressed our concerns beyond our expectations. I highly recommend this clinic!!

Great location. Definitely a busy medical office but super glad the family and I have a family doctor here. Front desk staff are organized. Sometimes the doctor does run late but it's very reasonable given the amount of patients. Since COVID, they've done a great job of not having too many people in the waiting area the times we've been. Dr. Forson Chan is a doctor without compassion and morality. He turned me away from the walk in clinic and refused to treat me for my health issue. I guess he has forgotten his Hippocratic Oath. He suggested I get on a bus, in a pandemic, and travel to another city to see a doctor where I used to live.

Who is the horrible woman who called me from the waiting room and took me into the examination room at 2.30 pm on October 16, 2020? She was rude, aggressive, snapped at me, ordered me uncross my legs, screamed at me to take my shoes off and was generally unbelievably unpleasant. She was dressed in blue and I had a very difficult time understanding her. as her English is terrible. Whoever this person is, would someone in the office tell her that she needs to improve her manners. Patients are not cattle to be ordered around by this very unpleasant person. On the plus side, the receptionist was very nice and Dr. Song is great.

Terrible clinic. Rude front desk staff and receptionists. They all look and treat people like they hate their jobs and are just miserably working there with no end in sight. Doctors aren't very knowledgeable either. There are no actual useful physicians in this clinic. Especially Dr. Amanda Lau. She is not good at her job. Also this clinic abandons patients without first communicating it to the patient! Try booking an appointment and be told out of the blue that you're no longer a patient and should go find another doctor. Love the non-existent professionalism of the doctors and staff in this clinic! Keep it up. Complaints will be filed to CPSBC.

While I was reading reviews from others, I disagree with their experience. I found the front desk staff professional and friendly in their dealings with me. They are of course very busy, 3 front desk staff handling appointments for 8 doctors. My doctor is Dr. Lam and she is the most friendly doctor I met in the my past 70+ years. She does not chit chat much but she is caring and professional.

If you have an option, I want to warn you about Dr. Sung-Mi Song. I had an appointment with her since she was taking new patients. Unfortunately I missed that appointment and the receptionist called me leaving a message telling me that because I've missed that first appointment, I need to pay $30 for missing it but I can reschedule the appointment. I said, that's fine, I'll pay the $30 and rescheduled the new appointment. On the day of the appointment, the receptionist called me and told me that Dr.Song now rejects me as a patient because I had missed my first appointment. I asked the receptionist, is this regular protocol? If so, why did you initially tell me that I had to pay a $30 fee and offered to reschedule? And what about the fact that I took time off work so that I could get to this appointment? Are you going to compensate me for work that I had to rearrange for this appointment? The receptionist sounded scared and just said "I just do what the doctor tells me" and wanted to hang up. And that was it. I haven't seen Dr. Song as a patient, but I wanted to let the next patient know that if you do see Dr. Song, consider that she might change her mind last minute, remorselessly.

I’ve been coming here since I was really young. I find that if you come here and your appointment is at a certain time you have to wait 10-20 minutes extra to see the doctor and once you’re put into a room you have to wait an extra 5-10 minutes. It shouldn’t be this way if you’re appointment is at a time the doctor should be able to see you at that time. I understand some days are busier than others. But when this happens all the time I come in is not acceptable. The staff should be booking and giving time inbetween appointments.
